At first Ren thought he had scared Tahki off with his enthusiasm, but then he realized that she probably was just easily anxious, and after a brief hesitation, she grinned at him, taking the controller. All right! Ren thought, settling back into the couch. He propped his feet up on the table in front of him, leaning back into the thick, plush cushions. It had been a while since he had just...relaxed, just hung out. And it had been a while since he had made any new friends at all. So right now felt pretty comfortable; a sort of relaxing afternoon with someone who could play Scario Kart with him.
"Sounds good!" Ren replied, his own eyes scanning the list of characters. He didn't want to be anything outlandish, but at the same time he wanted someone good, someone who he could win with...
He pressed his thumb down on the A button. "There," he said, satisfied. "I'll be Scario."
The game was starting now; Ren glanced at Tahki.
"So," he said. "Best two outta three? Winner makes the other a sandwich."

Tahki lifted her head and gave Ren a very sly and cheeky smile.
"Best two out of three and the winner gets a sandwich AND a pickle," That sounded like high enough stakes. She clenched her controller with anticipation she hadn't had a good game of scariokart in a long time and now she was going to be playing with the first gryphon shed met of her age group. The day couldn't have gotten any better.
Possibly a sandwich would be the winning cherry of the day.
The gryphons shell was getting shed pretty quickly around Ren.

Ren arched an eyebrow, both amused and entertained by the options. Clearly Tahki was becoming rapidly more relaxed around him, if she was getting into the srs gaming mood here. It had started off as a relatively dull and dreary day, but being able to sit and feel comfortable around someone like Tahki was making this day turn out to be pretty good after all. Ren was really quite pleased with how things were going, and he had a feeling he had made a nice, new friend.
"I like those prizes," he said with a devilish grin and flopped his tail across his stomach to keep it from getting in his way when he played, wings tucked down against his back. "And you better bring it, gryphonness, because I am the Scario Kart master."
Obviously Ren was getting much too into the game. But, suffice it to say, he believed very much he deserved it and like Jack he was going to just sit back and pout. So for now, at least, he could have a good thing going on.
