[Document Entry 001] - In the Infirmary
(Takes place immediately after Going Out to the Outpost.)

Izaya gasped as he woke from the surgery lying on an infirmary bed. His arm, shoulder, and back all felt stiff and sore, but whatever painkillers tha had given him earlier seemed to be wearing off. The agony of the bullet wound was making itself known again, growing so sharp as to disturb him from his peaceful slumber. Grunt Nakura wasn't a stranger to pain. He had been stabbed before, and even shot at due to the liabilities of his previous job in Camphoreon City. Having taken a direct hit below the shoulder blade, though, he knew he was lucky to have survived. His lung had barely avoided being punctured. The cause for his momentary distraction that led to his getting shot hadn't been a very good one either. He wondered if he was losing his touch.

No, he insisted. I'm just not used to working with others; that's all. Forcing himself to sit up, he refrained from leaning back against the pillows or head of the bed, knowing his bandaged wound was still tender. The actual bullet that had been extracted from his body lay clean on a tray beside him. He stared at it with narrowed, crimson eyes. Claire's words came back to him. Yes, he had been acting like an idiot. Much as he hated to admit it, she was right. In the moment of confusion, he had just frozen. Frozen, and allowed the Arcanine collapse on top of him, pinning him down. The humiliation caused Orihara's face to redden even now. Why hadn't he moved? Had his reflexes failed him? Was he just not prepared for the giant fire dog to fall?

No matter the case, there wasn't much use dwelling on it now. He had made a mistake and he would learn from it. There wouldn't be an incident like that again. The penalty for his lapse in judgement was being indebted to Claire; a grunt-now-promoted-agent who already didn't think too much of him. "Hehe...so much for first impressions," he chuckled to himself. He did so despise being indebted to people. After all, he was the one used to being owed favors. Leaning over with some difficulty, he reached for his fur-trimmed hoodie which was draped over the back of a chair by his bed. Upon managing to snag it, he searched its pockets until he found the small sphere his digits had sought out. Pressing the tiny button on the ball, it expanded in size before releasing an Odd Keystone on top of his bedside table. He smiled at it warmly.

"Hello, Celty," he greeted the pokemon as she emerged from the crevices of the stone. "How are you doing? Better than me, I hope," he added with a bitter laugh.

The Spiritomb blinked at him and whirred quietly, craning her head to examine his back.

"What? Oh, this?" he asked, glancing over his shoulder at the bandaged area. "I've suffered worse than this, before. Don't worry about it." The man turned once more to face the ghost. "No, I wanted to talk to you about your performance out the outpost."

Celty shrunk back in shame, both her facial features and asteral form drooping visibly. She stared down at the ground.

Izaya smirked. "Oi, why the long face? I just wanted to tell you you did a good job," he answered. "I need to work on learning your attacks, though, so I can try to take charge rather than leaving all the work to you. Why do you say to some training once this back of mine heals up a little?"

The ghost/dark-type looked up before nodding silently. She wanted to be helpful, just like Persephone had been. Maybe just not as...chaotic.

"Good. It's settled then," he told her, trying to sink back under his bedsheets. He grimaced as his back made contact with the bed under him and he immediately turned on his side. "Hehe...you should have seen them, Celty..." he mumbled. His pokemon gave him a quizzical look, tilting her head, and he smiled. "Frosty-chan and Xander-kun. Very buddy-buddy with each other. One might even say they were intimately involved." He sighed and tried to rest on his stomach instead, not finding lying on his side to his liking. "It's a good thing they didn't both see me at once, or I might have been in trouble. I've got to keep that in mind."

"Speaking of which, I'm going to have to thank Claire and her silly Greek-god-named Pikachu for helping me out back there. Even if I could have done without it. I suppose that also means I owe them a favor, now..." Izaya hissed suddenly, having attempted to turn on his opposite side on impulse, causing the sharp sensation of the wound to shoot through his nervous system. It was all he could do to keep from crying out, not wishing to draw the attention of anyone else near or within the infirmary. "Kuso...this is going to take some getting used to," he gasped, clenching his teeth as he settle back on his other side with delicate care. Nevertheless, he wore a pained smile.

Celty looked at him with pitying eyes. He was a difficult man to deal with, but no one deserved the pain he was suffering through now. She made a soft sound and moved toward him, causing him to look up at her almost in alarm.

"Celty...?"

She hovered over his face, staring into his eyes. He soon grew transfixed and found himself falling into a restful sleep, finally able to ignore his injury. "Thank you...Celty," he murmured as his eyelids closed. The pokemon settled back down, glad to know she could help her trainer. After seeing the way Persephone had used Hyponosis at the Outpost, Celty had become determined to perfect her own technique. And if she could help ease Izaya to sleep while doing it, all the better. Satisfied with herself, the Spiritomb retreated into her Odd Keystone to take her own nap until Grunt Nakura was ready to depart.

[Document Entry 002] - Twin Sisters Bearing Twin Gifts
(Takes place immediately after Tonight's Gonna be a Good Night.)

"Iiiiizaaa-niii!" a voice called out, inturrupting Izaya as he turned, suddenly tense. What remained of his smile disappeared and he looked poised to defend himself. While his reaction may have seemed quite comical after realizing there were only two teenage girls, the Rocket did not drop his guard. Instead, his eyes narrowed as he kept his hands in his pockets.

"Iza-nii, you're dressed up so nice! And with a girl, too," the first of the young girls commented, skipping up to Izaya and Faleen with a bright, upbeat tone of voice that teased. A pair of mischevious, crimson eyes laughed behind her glasses. "She's far too pretty for you, though, I think."

"...Date
(Are you dating)...?" the second girl asked quietly, her voice as soft as her appearance when she came up to them after her sister. This one's dark brown hair was cropped short while the former's was split into two braids, but other than that and the glasses, their faces were exactly the same.

With a weary sigh, Trainee Nakura rolled his eyes. "Faleen-san, please meet my clients: Mairu and Kururi."

"So we're clients to you, now?" the bespectacled girl asked, though her attention was on Faleen rather than Izaya. She looked the blonde woman up and down. "What a jerk, Iza-nii. I know you treat us the same as any other human, but you could at least introduce us as family." Curtsying to Faleen in her black girls' school uniform, Mairu smiled sweetly. "Good evening, Miss Faleen. I'm Mairu, and this is Kuru-nee."

"...Hello
(Greetings)..." Kururi spoke timidly in her disappearing voice, dipping her head to Faleen. In stark contrast to her twin, she wore a gymnasts' outfit with shorts and a white t-shirt.

"Iza-nii probably didn't mention us because he's embarrassed to say we're related. Even so, it's a pleasure to meet you."

Faleen had been fore warned about what to expect. She wasn’t nervous about the meeting he was to have with a couple of teenagers that Izaya had claimed to be his sisters, yet the reaction Izaya had given within a split second when a girl’s voice suddenly called out to him was unexpected.

The agent remained quiet herself, hazel eyes lingering over the man she was standing with before searching the darkness to find the source of the calls.
Two girls, teenage girls.
Should she feel as cautious as Izaya was acting about these two?

With a quiet movement, Faleen shifted her weight, taking two steps to better face the approaching girls. They spoke to the Rocket with an air of familiarity; she could already guess that these were the ones he was supposed to be meeting with.

The comments about this so called ‘date’ and implications that Izaya and her were out together were honestly to be expected. She made no comment of correction toward them, choosing to leave the talking to Izaya until they spoke to her directly.

She wasn’t here to interfere; she was here because Izaya needed an agent to keep an eye on him. She had no further intentions on making things more complicated than she had to for the trainee.

“Family, hum?” She said, lowering her hands from behind her back to her side where Umbreon had slipped up, ears perked, large red eyes watching the twins quietly.

“Mariu, and Kururi” She bowed her head politely, always with her professional air as she greeted them, having no need to introduce herself since Izaya had done that for her.

Izaya frowned at Mairu. "What's with the politeness? You usually greet me with a kick aimed at my spine or something." He glanced at Faleen out the corner of his vision, grateful to her for her neutral interaction with the twins. The last thing they needed was the girls asking too many questions. With a subtle change in topic, he hoped to shift their attention to something else.

"Ah, yes, we were going to, but Kururi and I saw you had company and we didn't want to make a bad first impression."

"...Rare
(it's not often)...see (to find you alone with)...lady (a woman)."

"That reminds me - you didn't answer our question from before," Mairu accused.

So much for shifting their attention. The trainee glared at her. "No, we're not dating; she's merely a co-worker of mine, so don't either of you get any vulger ideas."

"Not at all, Iza-nii. You're the only one who gets those sorts of ideas."

"...Yes
(Indeed)...pervert (dirty-minded)..."

"Alright, that's enough," Izaya murmured impatiently, checking his watch. "What is all of this about? You two called me the other night, but I'm telling you now that I can't recieve phone calls on my cell anymore. I'm doing some important work at the moment and I can't have my cover blown."

"Really? Actually, Kuru-nee and I came to ask about that. What's with this new line of work? You were secretive enough before, but since a few weeks ago, it's like you dropped off the face of the planet. Kuru-nee and I were ecstatic...at least until we found out that you were still alive."

"...Shame
(we were so happy)..."

A sigh. "Typical. Once again, I was a fool to expect anything resembling family love from you two." Izaya smiled bitterly at the twins. "Yes, well, my new job is pretty special. Something like a secret agent." He glanced at Faleen. "You can ask her. She knows more about it than I do." The trainee decided that Faleen would know best what to tell the two nosy brats since he certainly didn't know how to deal with them.

"You treat us the same as all humans, yet you want to be treated differet just because you're our brother. How strange." the girl with the glasses commented, playing with one of her braids as she calmly used Izaya's logic against him. Suddenly, her face lit up. "Eh? Really?" Mairu asked, turning to the blond woman. "Faleen-san, will Iza-nii really get in trouble if we call him?"

Kururi blinked up at her. "...Death
(will he die)...?"

Faleen looked at each twin in turn when she was asked to follow up Izaya’s comment.

Well, time to play up the truth a little. She had no problems answering this one for Izaya.

“I would not be concerned about Mr. Orihara, though I would heed his advice; the same cannot be said for those trying to distract him from his work.”

She kept her tone controlled, polite, and professional. But that didn’t keep a serious edge out of her voice to show that she wasn’t kidding. This, of course, implied great importance in what Izaya’s obligations were now while keeping just what it was that he was doing vague. She made sure to offer a soft, genuine smile afterwards.

It wasn’t very far from the truth either; any threat to Team Rocket was dealt with, with quick efficiency. And while they were only girls, Faleen had seen worse happened to younger for far less. You mess with one Rocket, you mess with the team.

The twins, who recognized Faleen's words as a warning, tried hard not to giggle. They weren't used to someone defending their brother, even indirectly. What was more, it was someone of the female gender.

"We understand. We won't distract him," the younger girl assured the blond woman.

"...Kind
(you care for him)..." the older twin noted.

"Stop sounding so excited about my death." Izaya grumbled, rubbing his temples to indicate he found the whole encounter with his sisters to be tiresome. He also didn't like what they were implying. Team Rocket wasn't family to him any more or less than anyone else - including his sisters. "Our employers just make sure to guard their corperation with care and that includes us. They don't bother with their employees as individuals."

He ran a hand through his silky hair. "Seriously, how did you girls ever become so twisted? I still blame myself for being your influence, but at least you make interesting specimens to observe, even if I don't think of you as my family..."

Mairu stuck out her tounge at her older brother like an elementary school kid. Kururi hid behind her sister and timidly did the same.

"If you keep talking like that, Iza-nii, maybe we won't tell you what we came to say in the first place."

"Keep
(we'll stay)...silent (quiet)..."

The trainee threw them a baleful look. "You were stealing my time and energy before you even arrived here. I'm not going to have all that go to waste. What is it?"

The twins glanced at each other and smiled. Kururi stepped out from behind Mairu and the pair stood before Faleen and Izaya with their hands behind their backs.

"Shizuo-san was even more happy than the both of us put together when he noticed that you weren't around Camphoreon City as often anymore," Mairu explained. "But when we called you to see if you were still alive, we told him. He was the most disappointed of all," the girl said cheerfully.

"...He
(Shizuo-san)...hit (smashed)...vehicle (a truck)..."

Trainee Nakura grimaced. As soon as the name 'Shizuo' was mentioned, Izaya's eyes narrowed and his disgust seemed almost palpable. "I told you to stay away from that monster," he sighed. "Now he's going to come looking for me, I expect...?"

The girls shook their heads. "As long as you stay out of 'his town', he said he's fine, even if he's disappointed that you aren't dead. That's why we were hoping we could come here to find your corpse and bring back your body to him. We thought that would cheer him up so much it would give us much higher chances of meeting his younger brother."

"...Star
(our idol)...Yuuhei (Hanajima Yuuhei-san)..."

"Tch. You still haven't given up on that movie star?" Izaya asked, raising a brow incredulously. "Selling your own brother out to meet an actor...who does that?"

Mairu and Kururi ignored him. The girl in glasses and braids continued. "We wanted you to think of us and keep you safe just a little longer because we're sure you're going to die." At that, the twins brought out their hands from behind their backs and held their upturned palms toward Izaya. In each girl's hands was a tiny pokeball. "Even if we can't stick around to watch you die, we thought we'd give you our pokemon to borrow. That way, when you're a goner, our Purrloins can drag your dead corpse back to us and we can present it to Shizuo-san as a present!"

"Huh. I thought last time you said he wanted me to die in front of a dump truck laughing." the Rocket trainee muttered.

"...Unlikely
(won't happen)..."

"What Kururi-nee said. But we thought at least if we brought him your dead remains, that would increase our chances a little bit. Besides, we would be much more satisfied to know Iza-nee died a dramatic, painful, fear-filled death than one where he died laughing."

"You two are the worst," Izaya stated, shaking his head as he swiped the two pokeballs offered to him. Placing them in the pocket of his suit, he added, "I suppose I can use all the help I can get. Especially since I'm not going to be leaving Camphoreon alone no matter what Shizu-chan wants." He gave a crooked smile as he winked at Faleen. "My new job has me travelling all over Kodo, including there."

"Yay! Maybe we'll get to watch Shizu-chan kill Iza-nii after all," Mairu cheered. "Anyway, that was all." She bowed to Faleen. "Nice to meet you again, Faleen-san! Please beat up our brother for us while we're away!"

"...Bye
(Take care)..." Kururi said, bowing as well to both Rockets before walking after her sister.

"Do us all a favor and get yourselves kidnapped on the way home," Izaya called merrily after the girls. When they had once again disappeared into the darkness of the night, however, he turned with fatigued features to Faleen. "I'm sorry you had to be present for that," he apologized. Retrieving the two pokeballs in his pocket, he shuffled them around in his hand, regarding them thoughtfully. "So...what do you think? Should we use these, or stick them in storage? Now that you've met my sisters, I'll let you decide if we can trust them or not. You're my superior, after all."

While Faleen didn’t talk, she certainly did listen; picking up a couple more names that raised some curiosity and really getting an idea of the hateful dynamic between the siblings.

It seemed there were several people in this man’s life who wanted him dead as much as he wanted them dead. This one, Shizuo… and how the girls were saying Izaya had to stay out of his town? His town? How… cute.

Her eyes narrowed softly as the twins wrapped up their meeting with Izaya, lifting a corner of her mouth as she watched them leave, refraining from a parting comment to their…request.

Making sure they were completely gone, she turned her attention to the trainee. She was not at all surprised to see the look on his face; she would feel much the same way.

"Hm…" she hummed thoughtfully, peering down at the pokeballs in his hand. "Normally I would say put them in storage; no need to risk it with pokemon given to you by an untrustworthy source." She paused, glancing up from the pokeballs. "But they are Purrloins, correct? If you wanted to keep them, than they can be worked with."

Any other type Faleen would have left it at the storage advice…but…they were dark types.

[Document Entry 004] - Tablet Chitchat
(Takes place a little while after Shiny New Tools Of the Trade.)

((Faleen and Izaya communicate between the new tablet Faleen built for her partner and her own via chat.))

7:51pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Boo!

7:52pm Rocket Agent Faleen: *blinks blinks* Oh, hello Izaya,

7:53pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Hello, Faleen-san. ^_^
I um...seem to have aquired another pokemon on accident. >_>
I was wondering if you could help me with it.

7:53pm Rocket Agent Faleen: I see you found the chat on the tablet.
another pokemon?

7:53pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Yes, I did~ This tablet is so much fun!

7:53pm Rocket Agent Faleen: of coarse, what is it?

7:53pm Izaya Oriwhorea: And so very handy. >D
7:54pm I think it's a Zorua.

7:54pm Rocket Agent Faleen: It is. I hardly set it down.
A Zorua? that's fantastic! those are very useful!

7:55pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Except it's getting annoying.
It came to me in Aila's form, which freaked me the hell out.

7:55pm Rocket Agent Faleen: ... Aila's? the little blue male?

7:55pm Izaya Oriwhorea: And it's nice to know you hold me so dear and close to your heart to never set it down~
Yes. You know it?
7:56pm I wasn't aware she had one.

7:56pm Rocket Agent Faleen: I use it for other things you know. this chat thing is new.
I've met it before, yes, Zoroark was per-evolved at the time.
Hm... so he found his way to you huh?

7:57pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Oh, I see. But now you'll have even less of a reason to put it down. And we'll never be apart!
7:58pm Well...I was actually looking for Luciole, but I must have ended up activating his pokeball instead.
And now he won't stop following me around.
I can't get rid of him!

7:59pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Well, the annoying part isn't too unusual for the breed, I can help you with training there. They are highly curious and full of energy,
He lost his master, Zorua need someone. so he's not going to be leaving you anytime soon.

7:59pm Izaya Oriwhorea: ...
Why don't you keep it? Or Asch. He likes the things.

8:00pm Rocket Agent Faleen: I think you should keep it Izaya, it'll be good for you to learn

8:00pm Izaya Oriwhorea: *sighs* And just when I got a break from the others...
I suppose the illusion ability COULD be fun if one could teach it to obey...
And maybe it'll give me an easier time than the girls.
8:01pm At least with your help.

8:01pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Well, he seems to like you, so you have that going for you.

8:01pm Izaya Oriwhorea: *frowns* I suppose.
But I wasn't so fond of the last pokemon that liked me.
8:02pm Do all of your pokemon like you, Faleen-san?

8:02pm Rocket Agent Faleen: I know its annoying, but you're going to have to learn how to deal with pokemon, and use them. Its part of being a Rocket.
I think they do, we all have an understanding anyway.

8:02pm Izaya Oriwhorea: I can use them. I just don't like them liking me. It's harder to deal with them.

8:02pm Rocket Agent Faleen: harder?

8:02pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Good for you.
Yes.
For example.
You know Aila's little Jirachi?

8:03pm Rocket Agent Faleen: I've heard of it.

8:03pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Guess who the first person she went to was when the last raid ended and Aila hadn't returned? -_-
It. I mean 'it'.
8:04pm There's another problem. You start to think of them as humans.
At least I am, anyway...
Psychic-types are strange.

8:04pm Rocket Agent Faleen: yes, I agree with you there.

8:05pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Is it true you dislike them?

8:06pm Rocket Agent Faleen: they have this attitude, this air about them that I cannot stand.
8:07pm I've been able to put up with a few, but I don't see myself training one.
I do have a question for you.

8:08pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Interesting. A pokemon Faleen-san can't stand.
Oh? And what might that be?

8:09pm Rocket Agent Faleen: What makes you so uncomfortable with pokemon? Or just like you mentioned, with you starting to think of them as humans?

8:11pm Izaya Oriwhorea: It's probably just Luciole who's easy to mistake for a human, because she - IT - can talk and mentally connect with my emotions. It's a bit unnerving, I'll admit, to be seen through by someone - someTHING - so innocent and clueless-seeming.
8:12pm As far as other pokemon...they're tools. Tools shouldn't have minds of their own and have a will to disobey. Or have ulterior motives.
Which I'm starting to suspect of my purrloin.
Maybe it's just because I don't know how to use them properly yet, though. Unlike yourself.

8:13pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Ah, I see.
Well, it took me a long time to understand too, get the skills to be able to mold them into the tools I needed them to be.
I'm not saying its not going to be work. It most certainly is.
8:14pm especially with dark types.

8:16pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Please excuse me a moment

8:16pm Rocket Agent Faleen: certainly.

8:29pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Sorry about that. Unexpected phone call.
What is there to understand about pokeon?
*pokemon
8:30pm Other than the fact that they are creatures with useful abilities that can be tamed and domesticated to obey our whims.
Is it the taming that's difficult?
8:31pm Learning how to apply their skills to our jobs and to suit our needs?

8:32pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Its a bit more then that, you have to understand that they are also individuals.
They have traits of their breed you have to contend with understanding, but they have personal opinions as well.

8:32pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Wonderful.

8:32pm Rocket Agent Faleen: sure you can beat them down, and try to control them thought means that give you complete control, but you're not likley to have a dependable team that way.

8:32pm Izaya Oriwhorea: So you're saying they have personalities? Just like people?

8:33pm Rocket Agent Faleen: I wouldn't say just like people, but yes.

8:33pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Mmm...Claire-san was saying something like that.
If not like people, then to what extent?
Just how intelligent are these creatures?

8:34pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Well, they can understand what you say to them, and they can communicate with each other in a level that seems to be what two conversing humans can.
I don't know for certain granted, I'm not Pokemon expert.
8:35pm they cannot build things, or invent tools as complicated as we can.

8:36pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Perhaps they simply have no need to.
What about emotions? Can they feel those like humans can?
Do they sense human emotions? Do they understand them?

8:38pm Rocket Agent Faleen: That could be it. but I doubt it, Human are still far superior in our abilities then pokemon. We have far more potential to improve, and Pokemon can only seem to improve when guided by us.
.... Hm, thats an interesting question.
Yes.
8:39pm They can...
8:41pm or they at least have the ability to learn.

8:45pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Hm.
8:46pm I'll admit I'm somewhat curious about psychics and the extent to which they can understand and mimic human emotions. Particularly because they can create such strong mental connections with humans.
8:47pm It's kind of bothersome to think all pokemon might have the capacity to feel like humans do. Or at least learn about emotions.
It would make them more difficult to manipulate and therefore use.

8:48pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Heh, I'm not too surprised you said that.
Well, I speak for ones that have been around humans enough to learn.
Well, that's not entirely true.

8:52pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Oh?

8:52pm Rocket Agent Faleen: I think given time to learn, you could mold a team the way you need it. Especially if you can find pokemon who have something to gain from your guidance. or who have similar goals.
I hate to say it but Psychic types might actually work really well for what you're skills are.
8:55pm since you previously mentioned your interest.

8:56pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Perhaps. I was thinking of making one my secretary after seeing what Kunai-san's and Lee-chii's can do. ;D
Gardevoirs seem nice~

8:57pm Rocket Agent Faleen: A Pokemon secretary? Haa haa

8:58pm Izaya Oriwhorea: I'm just joking, of course. There's no way I would trust a pokemon with my personal things.

8:58pm Rocket Agent Faleen: What about a Porygon?

8:59pm Izaya Oriwhorea: I'm actually surprised you seem to think they would work well for - oh, Arceus, no. XD

8:59pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Those are amazing, becasue they're man made. perfect for programming them the way you want.

8:59pm Izaya Oriwhorea: After seeing Seth-kun's, I don't think I could handle one.
Yes, also perfect for messing up with viruses and corrupting until they're useless.
You seem to have a fondness for them. Have you worked with one before?

9:00pm Rocket Agent Faleen: They're much more sturdy then you would think.
Yes I own one. Porygon, say hello?

9:01pm Izaya Oriwhorea: O_O It's in your tablet?

9:01pm Rocket Agent Faleen: The tablets are formatted to allow their program.

9:01pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Maybe it was just Seth-ou's that was defective, then. They can speak? *virtual poke* Hello, Porygon. Are you happy being stuck in your virtual space all day long?

9:02pm Rocket Agent Faleen: virtual Space: Happy>
9:03pm He's usually in here, he helps with my tech work, and he keeps things very organized.
9:04pm Porygon was an offspring of Seth's

9:04pm Izaya Oriwhorea: ヽ(゜ロ゜;)ノ Does that mean he can invade this tablet too? And Seth-pon's as well?
Oh my.
So...they have genders? And can breed? In virtual space?

9:05pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Oh no, this tablet is formatted for his unique signature, he can't leave it unless there is a connection to his pokeball.
Thanks to the science of Rocket DNA cloning.
9:06pm I'm pretty sure Porygon do not have genders
... huh, I have been saying "he" though, havn't I?
My mistake

9:06pm Izaya Oriwhorea: So you refer to it as a 'he' on a whim.

9:07pm Rocket Agent Faleen: most of my pokemon are male, I suppose its just habit...

9:07pm Izaya Oriwhorea: See? You're succumbing to the anthropomorphic illness too, Faleen-san! Tsk, tsk. Too attached.
That's odd. Most of mine are female. Maybe that's why yours are so obedient.

9:07pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Hey now, I'm allowed to like my tools.

9:08pm Izaya Oriwhorea: True, true. But yours still seem to work better. (ノ*゜▽゜*) Trade?

9:09pm Rocket Agent Faleen: You can borrow Sharpedo for a day if you like.
or maybe Spiritomb?
9:10pm He's been getting better.

9:10pm Izaya Oriwhorea: ...You want me to die, don't you? щ(゜ロ゜щ) Of all the suggestions, why those?
I didn't realize you disliked having a partner THAT much.
9:11pm Or perhaps I've just finally gotten to you and this is the only sign to show it.
9:12pm You can be honest with your feelings you know, Faleen-chaaaan~
I'll listen. <3

9:13pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Aw, they're both wonderful pokemon, you know Sharpedo is one of my best.
what ones would you want then? you know they all listen to me, I don't know how likely they would listen to you.

9:13pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Fair point.
Nevermind then.
9:14pm It was worth a shot.
Oi, Faleen-chan, you should come over right now and we could have a sleepover here in my room. Since, you know, Jerry-kun's not here at the moment and I'm lonely.
9:15pm Plus it's creepy just knowing Aila's little Zorua is stalking me.

9:19pm Rocket Agent Faleen: a sleepover?
Ah, your roomate is one of the missing Rockets, isn't he.

9:19pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Mhmm. I'm terribly worried. He was like a brother to me, you know.
I do hope he isn't dead.

9:21pm Rocket Agent Faleen: We'll do our best to get everyone back. We have a better chance then anyone with as many capable minds working on finding them.

9:24pm Izaya Oriwhorea: You're right. But it would still put me more at ease if you would come over and spend the night.

9:24pm Rocket Agent Faleen: ...

9:24pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Oh. But you'll have to share my bed because Jerry-kun's pokemon broke his. Don't worry; I'm skinny.

9:25pm Rocket Agent Faleen: broke his... bed?

9:25pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Nothing to worry about. We had a bit of an issue with one of his heavier...monstrocities.

9:27pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Alright, look, how about this.
come over later, I do want to meet your new Zorua.
I'm not entirely comfortable sharing a bed with anyone, plus Umbreon takes up what bed I don't use, but I have a couch you can use in my room.
9:28pm Its been a while since I had a room mate.

9:28pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Don't you share a bathroom with someone?

9:28pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Not yet. that room is supposed to be yours when you get promoted.
9:29pm I don't have a way into that room though.

9:29pm Izaya Oriwhorea: ☆*:.。. o(≧▽≦)o .。.:*☆
So sweet to think of me!

9:29pm Rocket Agent Faleen: stop cutting people's hair against their will and you'll get promoted faster.

9:30pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Ah, right...
I'll work on that.
Really, though, doesn't he look better with it? I'm sure he fights and travels easier without it too.
9:31pm That aside...most people don't sleep with their tools, Faleen-chan.
That's a bit weird.

9:32pm Rocket Agent Faleen: He certainly doesn't think do.
He keeps me warm, it gets cold at night.
9:33pm *so

9:34pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Ah, gomen, another phone call. I'll be right back.
Shiki-san must be really busy tonight...

9:35pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Of coarse

9:38pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Well of course he doesn't think so; he gets a nice, comfy human bed. It's bad for your healthy, though. People who sleep with pokemon don't get good rest because they worry about crushing them, even subconsciously.
Besides, I could do a better job at keeping you warm.

9:39pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Have you felt Umbreon? he's a tank.
You'll have to bring that up with Umbreon.

9:40pm Izaya Oriwhorea: XD Oh, yes. I'll just talk to your tool. Whatever you say, Faleen-chan. I'm sure you prefer sleeping with tanks than real people.
Well, my door will always be open.

9:41pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Thank you. I will keep that in mind
9:42pm The same goes for you.

9:48pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Heh. I really must be getting to bed now, but it was more than a pleasure talking to you. <3 As always.
9:49pm Good night, Faleen-chan. Pleasant dreams, and sleep well.

9:50pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Good night, Izaya. It was nice talking to you too.

9:52pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Don't you stay up too late. You'll end up just like Aila-chan.

9:55pm Rocket Agent Faleen: ... hm, alright, okay, just another hour then.

10:00pm Izaya Oriwhorea: That's my partner. <3

10:01pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Haa haa, Good night, Izaya.

[Document Entry 005] - Tablet Chitchat 2
(Takes place a little while after Shiny New Tools Of the Trade.)

((Faleen and Izaya communicate between the new tablet Faleen built for her partner and her own via chat. This takes place a day after the last [Document Entry 004] - Tablet Chitchat.))

7:46pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Orihara, I got your message.

8:15pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Oh, you did? I'm so glad! 8D
So...do you have a crush?
Love sounds so painful, doesn't it? Haha, crushes, 'hitting on' people, dumping...

8:16pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Do I have a crush? No, why?
Well, thats certainly an interesting way to put it.

8:17pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Because I might and I wondered if you could help me with it or if you had any advice on what to do about it. Or even just to recognize it.
But as you don't seem to, it's fine. ^_^ I'll just go ask someone who does.
Like Asch-kun! 8D

8:18pm Rocket Agent Faleen: I'm sorry Izaya, I would be terrible with advice on that nature.
... I would recommend you keep your distance from Asch for a while.
8:19pm why would you be confused about it? wouldn't that be something you can manipulate easy enough and learn about from people?
you are the human expert, aren't you?

8:21pm Izaya Oriwhorea: But he's perfect for this sort of thing! Aaaand he's restrained at the moment. >D
He HAS to listen to me.
AND be nice.

8:21pm Rocket Agent Faleen: what?

8:21pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Didn't you hear?
8:22pm They bound him to his infirmary bed after he fainted in the hallway.
He totally deserved it, too. >D
That's what he gets for pushing himself when his body is past its limits. Just like Aila-chan.

8:22pm Rocket Agent Faleen: they bound him?
Well, he can be stubborn.

8:23pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Do me a favor, Faleen-chan. Don't be idiots like them. Stay the sensible young lady you are.
Emotion makes people do the strangest things...

8:24pm Rocket Agent Faleen: What is this all about all of a sudden?

8:27pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Because I think I might have a cruuush
Sorry for the delay. I was looking for my switchblade.
Flickblade, rather.
I keep forgetting the switch one got destroyed in the fire.
8:28pm I mean, the explosion.
Sorry, my mind is not entirely here right now. x_X

8:29pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Ah, I see.
Its fine, its Monday and its already been a very long couple of weeks.

8:30pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Yes, I learn things about people, but crushes are different for everyone, so I understand.
And yes, you're right.
I imagine you're very busy. Sorry for disturbing you~
8:31pm I didn't mean 'I understand' I meant I'm not sure how to recognize a crush because of this fact.

8:31pm Rocket Agent Faleen: ah, I didn't know that.
Its alright, its nice to take a breather for a second.

8:31pm Izaya Oriwhorea: At least not while experiencing one. It's easy enough from a third-person perspective.
8:32pm This is a breather...?
Ah, but then I suppose discussions about crushes would be the least stressful to a girl like yourself. XD
Funny. Things like this mostly send other girls into a daze.
8:33pm Or a panic attack. Or a squealing frenzy.
Like I said, it depends.
Er, I mean, varies.
I really can't keep my thoughts straight tonight.
8:34pm I'll stop pestering you now.

8:34pm Rocket Agent Faleen: well, its not looking at endless scans and digital readings.
Crushes don't really have a place in my life, I don't have time to worry about such things, nor really have the interest to.
I do apologize though, That I could not be more help.
8:35pm Are you alright?

8:35pm Izaya Oriwhorea:
...Faleen-chan.
I'm sorry

8:35pm Rocket Agent Faleen: yes?

8:35pm Izaya Oriwhorea: lauging too hard

8:35pm Rocket Agent Faleen: you're sorry?

8:35pm Izaya Oriwhorea: can't type

8:35pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Oh goodness
Izaya.

8:35pm Izaya Oriwhorea: You're so adorable.
XD
8:36pm I'll let you know if I find any substantial data on it that may catch your interest. wink
Charts and scans and documents.
8:37pm But you'll probably learn through first-hand experience before that ever happens, so I'm not too concerned for you.

8:39pm Rocket Agent Faleen: I have no idea what you are talking about anymore.
But I heard charts and scans.

8:40pm Izaya Oriwhorea: ...I think you're going to reopen that wound in my side.
I have to go seek Asch's little cloud of doom and gloom raining in the infirmary. Maybe that'll stop the pain of this laughter.
8:41pm Thank you for your input just the same <3

8:41pm Rocket Agent Faleen: wh... alright.
Izaya.
Leave Asch alone.

8:41pm Izaya Oriwhorea: <3 But he's so much like me!
8:42pm Ah, that aside...
What if I told you my crush?
Would you keep it a secret?
Forever and ever?

8:43pm Rocket Agent Faleen: If you want to tell me then you can. you know I keep things to myself that don't threaten Team Rocket.

8:43pm Izaya Oriwhorea: That's no fun~!

8:43pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Like your sisters.

8:43pm Izaya Oriwhorea: You mean you don't want to hear?
Aren't you just dying to know?
I'm your partner. No overwhelming curiosity?
8:44pm This doesn't threaten Team Rocket. ...I don't think. But who knows what the future holds.
Considering the love-triangle or rectangle or decagon or whatever revolving around this person, can't be too sure.

8:45pm Rocket Agent Faleen: I'm thinking you're more dying to tell me then I am to know.
I am curious though, I half don't believe it.

8:45pm Izaya Oriwhorea: XD
What if I told you I had a crush on Hayes? Would yo ubeliebe me?
Whoops. Typo.
Ignore that.

8:45pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Elite Hayes?

8:46pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Sure. Of course you would have to insist on calling him that now.

8:46pm Rocket Agent Faleen: No, I don't believe you.

8:46pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Hahahaa. Alright.
Then what if I told you I had a crush on you~?

8:47pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Then I would tell you to stop it.
though I highly doubt I have to

8:48pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Stop it? XD You think this is the sort of thing that can be stopped?
Would you have to plant a chip inside my head like you did with Will? Pardon me; Lance.
Oh, but wait.
8:49pm You're still not entirely sure if that successfully suppressed his emotions, are you?
In fact, I'm almost certain it hasn't. Even if his actions are being controlled, human emotions are far too powerful.

8:51pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Why am I not surprised you know about Lance.
either way, it doesn't matter. he'll either be permanently brain damaged or dead soon enough. no need to worry about what emotions he might have.
8:53pm He was used as that experiment because he was a traitor, no other reason.

8:54pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Well, that's obvious. I knew that ever since the Camphoreon's outpost cover was blown. Frost told me.
Kind of hard to keep it a secret that we have a pokemon champion as a prisoner, isn't it?
8:55pm Say, Faleen-chan~
You wouldn't hesitate to use that again, would you?

8:55pm Rocket Agent Faleen: No, I would not.

8:55pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Like if for some reason my emotions got in the way and you needed to use it on me.
No regrets whatsoever?

8:56pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Are you planning on betraying me?

8:56pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Did I say that?
No, no, no, this a purely hypothetical question~!
You can trust me. <3

8:56pm Rocket Agent Faleen: I'm asking that. in this scenario, would you be a traitor?

8:56pm Izaya Oriwhorea: But I suppose a betrayal to Team Rocket would mean a betrayal to you, wouldn't it?
8:57pm Even if one turned against the organization for your sake.
Or what they thought was your sake.

8:58pm Rocket Agent Faleen: so in the same sense. Would i use the chip in you to save you?
in a manner of speaking

8:59pm Izaya Oriwhorea: In a manner of speaking?
What's this nonsense about 'saving me'?

8:59pm Rocket Agent Faleen: well, hypothetically speaking

9:00pm Izaya Oriwhorea: You mean you'd use it before the higher-ups found out about my supposed act of traitor-ism?
9:01pm or on their orders?
Saving me from what?

9:01pm Rocket Agent Faleen: on their orders.
Probably death,

9:01pm Izaya Oriwhorea: I see.
9:02pm Braindead or death...
Hmm...
Tough choice.
I suppose at least being braindead, I would still exist in some form and perhaps still be able to observe the world around me to some degree.
But most people...
Would YOU prefer to be braindead over really dead?

9:03pm Rocket Agent Faleen: I can't say I would know.
Of coarse I don't want to die.
but really, at that point whats the difference?

9:04pm Izaya Oriwhorea: But you don't know what it's like to be braindead either, neh?
Yes...

9:04pm Rocket Agent Faleen: If I can't build, then i might as well die.

9:04pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Well, I know some self-righteous sorts like Asch would rather die than allow themselves to be used against their will.
Hm.
You're so devoted. Hehe.
9:06pm So if I have a crush on you, but it didn't affect work, what would be the problem?

9:07pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Look, That chip isn't something to be used just anywhere.
so to sum up my answer to your question. No, I would not use it on you, unless you did betray me, by then our partnership would be completely void, and I would have no obligations to your safety.
Probably not.

9:08pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Oh, I see.
9:09pm So the only reason you've done anything for me at all ever is out of your obligation to me as my partner and fellow Rocket.
Is that right?

9:09pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Everything I do is for Team Rocket.

9:09pm Izaya Oriwhorea: That wasn't my question~

9:10pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Then I don't think I understand your question

9:10pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Here's the thing.
Everything /I/ do is for my love of humanity.
Of course, that doesn't mean I don't enjoy the benefits myself.
9:11pm So, what I mean is, is there anything that you yourself derive from your work as a Rocket? And I don't mean building things. I mean through personal interactions with others.
9:12pm Do you get anything out of it for yourself? Or is it all selflessly for the sake of the organization?

9:13pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Hm...

9:14pm Izaya Oriwhorea: No need to answer now.
Just think on it.
Unless you've already done all your thinking that fast and come to a conclusion already.

9:15pm Rocket Agent Faleen: I'm not exactly sure I know how to explain it.
9:16pm I just think its how you've explained it before.
I'm here becasue I can do the things i care about, and thats building robots.

9:17pm Izaya Oriwhorea: So if you had no interaction with any people whatsoever, it wouldn't change your experience in the least?

9:18pm Rocket Agent Faleen: no... thats not quite right either. I respect the minds I work with.
On a professional level I think I can take from it what I enjoy.

9:18pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Respecting is not the same as needing or wanting.

9:18pm Rocket Agent Faleen: but in a place like this its dangerous to get attached. you know this.

9:18pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Profession has nothing to do with enjoyment. Profession has to do with payment, whereas enjoyment is personal.
9:19pm Yes, it is dangerous
But it happens all the same.
Teams need to have a certain degree of closeness to be a considered a team, after all.
Even Frost-san. Look at him.

9:20pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Yes, you are correct.

9:21pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Then you'll admit there's really nothing one can do to prevent or stop a crush. Yes?
And you'll agree that there's no point in trying.
Unless you're crazy like Nyx-san and want to try for the heck of attempting to defy nature with science. >_>;

9:22pm Rocket Agent Faleen: I don't know.
Haa haa, she is a genius.

9:22pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Hahaha. Good answer.
And if you say so.
I still wonder about her motives and methods.
9:23pm She must have a thing for blue hair.
Did you notice that, or was it just me?

9:23pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Blue hair? since Mau has blue hair?

9:23pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Perhaps if Mau-san dyed his hair entirely blue, he'd have more of a chance against our boss. XD
9:24pm Since, you know, Lucere has that patch of black.
I wonder how much of Mau's and his is natural...

9:25pm Rocket Agent Faleen: I'm surprised you have not asked them yet

9:25pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Asked them? Who's to say they wouldn't lie to me? Or take it the wrong way? And then Nyx might think I'm hitting on her boys.
9:26pm No, all I have to do is wait around the bathroom long enough and wait for them to drop their pants.
Much more fun than just asking directly, anyway.

9:26pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Oh my goodness, just don't get into trouble. especially not with the Boss.
9:27pm or I won't get the chance to get a chip in your brain before he kills you.

9:27pm Izaya Oriwhorea: It's just the bathroom! What, can I get in trouble for staring at another guy's groin?
You worry too much.

9:27pm Rocket Agent Faleen: ... I have no idea.
sometimes Izaya, you give me reason to worry.

9:27pm Izaya Oriwhorea: It was a rhetorical question.
9:28pm Sometimes, Faleen-chan, I wonder how you call what you do living.

9:28pm Rocket Agent Faleen: I get to build huge mechanical security robots. I think I do quite well.

9:42pm Izaya Oriwhorea: That's not the point. That doesn't mean you get to see the light of day.
But nevermind.
We're different people.
9:43pm We get enjoyment from different things.

9:43pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Yes, I think from the start we've both understood that.
9:44pm I have to wonder if there is anything we both enjoy.
not that i think about it.
9:45pm *now
9:49pm Rocket Agent Faleen is offline
9:51pm Rocket Agent Faleen is online

9:57pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Me too.
9:58pm But opposites attract. XD

9:58pm Rocket Agent Faleen: So I've heard before.
so I suppose its true.
10:00pm Rocket Agent Faleen is offline
10:00pm Rocket Agent Faleen is online

10:07pm Izaya Oriwhorea: I like our team, regardless.
And don't worry.
10:08pm I love you just as much as I love every other human. XD
No more, no less.

10:08pm Rocket Agent Faleen: I'm comfortable with that.

10:09pm Izaya Oriwhorea: And that was exactly why I wanted to know how you would have reacted in a situation you weren't comfortable with.
But I suppose neither of us will know until it happens~

10:13pm Rocket Agent Faleen: It's looking that way, isn't it.

10:16pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Well, the unexpected and unpredictable is what makes life worth living.
10:17pm At least in my humble opinion.

10:18pm Rocket Agent Faleen: I wouldn't say its what makes life worth living, but it certainly adds something.

10:18pm Izaya Oriwhorea: XD

10:19pm Rocket Agent Faleen: I know life here, you spend so much time trying to prepare so that there is no unexpected turns.
though I suppose after all our experiences we should know its pretty futile.

10:19pm Izaya Oriwhorea: That's assuming you ever know what to prepare for.
10:20pm Heheh.

10:20pm Rocket Agent Faleen: it doesn't keep anyone from trying.

10:20pm Izaya Oriwhorea: True.
Sometimes it's fun to just sit back and enjoy the ride, though.
You should try it some time.
10:21pm Put yourself in a difficult situation and think on your feet. Follow your impulses.

10:21pm Rocket Agent Faleen: I couldn't afford to do that. not with this life.
none of can really
10:28pm us*

10:31pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Sometimes, Faleen-san, we have no choice.
10:32pm Take our captive friends, for example.
I'm sure they didn't plan to be prisoners.
Knowing the group that went, too, I doubt they're taking it too well.
10:33pm But at least they're learning from experiences.

10:40pm Rocket Agent Faleen: But in the end their survival might still just come down to how prepared -we- are.

10:42pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Perhaps. But suppose everything between the Galactics and Rockets was just a huge understanding that could have been solved ages ago with just a little consideration and listening to one another's opinions?
*mis-understanding
I think that's one word.
10:43pm Pardon.

10:47pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Have you ever sat down and talked to Deimos before?
10:48pm I actually have talked to him, briefly. He's completely out of his mind.

10:49pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Hahaha. People would say that of you and me, Faleen-chan.
It's all a matter of perspective.
10:50pm Obviously all the people who follow Deimos - his Galactic inferiors - don't think he's out of his mind.

10:52pm Rocket Agent Faleen: I'm not saying he isn't a genius. Because he is the most brilliant mind I have ever seen, I am not surprised this gives him power.
But as a result, it makes reasoning with him... pointless. He can't be wrong, because he's too smart.
10:53pm I honestly don't know why they follow him like that. his second has to baby him constantly.
10:59pm Hm... maybe you are right, maybe I'm just saying this because he's a Galactic. I might be more impressed with him if he worked for Rocket.

11:15pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Reasoning is another thing that can be warped and tampered with to make sense in others' minds.
11:16pm At least he HAS some sort of reasoning, unlike Shizu-chan. That makes it possible to reason with him using his own logic against him.

11:16pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Ah, Izaya, that reminds me.

11:16pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Because if there is a right, then there is a wrong in his mind as well.
Oh?

11:17pm Rocket Agent Faleen: with this Shizou.

11:17pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Makes you wonder why his second is so devoted to him.
I'd really like to meet this Deimos.
Someday.
What's his second in command like?
Have you met her too?
Oh, I think I remember her from the mission...maybe.

11:17pm Rocket Agent Faleen: I have a report, but I would like you get give me as much information as you have on him. I'm going to be submitting a watch file on him in the Rocket records.

11:18pm Izaya Oriwhorea: ...
It's getting late. We should get to bed.
Night night!

11:18pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Izaya
Don't leave, I'm being serious

11:18pm Izaya Oriwhorea: I don't want to talk about him.
11:19pm He is a monster and he doesn't deserve to exist.

11:19pm Rocket Agent Faleen: I'm not asking you to talk about him. I won't even look at the file if you don't want me to. but if he's dangerous, then Rocket is going to keep an eye on him.

11:19pm Izaya Oriwhorea: If I kill him soon, you'll have no reason to have him on Rocket files. ^_^ Right?

11:20pm Rocket Agent Faleen: yes. but remember what I said about being prepared?

11:20pm Izaya Oriwhorea: He's harmless to most. He doesn't like violence.
No need to worry as long as I'm not around. He's a dunce with his pokemon last I checked.

11:21pm Rocket Agent Faleen: I'm confused...

11:21pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Don't worry your pretty little head about him.

11:22pm Rocket Agent Faleen: You were so adamant about how much of a danger he is. Why did you get me involved if you don't want me to do something about it?

11:22pm Izaya Oriwhorea: He's not likely to be a danger to the Rockets. I don't think. He haaaas been becoming a bit close to that trainer group as of late...no thanks to Tyrone...
I did at the time.
Later I realized it was pointless.
There's not really much anyone can do.

11:23pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Trainers? Tyron? Tyron's one of the Rockets who was taken?

11:23pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Just hope he remains neutral and doesn't side with his new 'friends'.

11:23pm Rocket Agent Faleen: you want to take that risk? are you sure?
11:24pm painting a target on someone form Team Rocket is going to help this problem...

11:24pm Izaya Oriwhorea: If he becomes a problem, I can deal with him.

11:24pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Like you did last time?

11:25pm Izaya Oriwhorea: ...I didn't expect him to be there last time.

11:25pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Please be realistic.

11:25pm Izaya Oriwhorea: And there was that whole thing with Asch and Aila that had me busy.

11:25pm Rocket Agent Faleen: how long have you hated him?

11:25pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Since I first laid eyes on him~

11:25pm Rocket Agent Faleen: so a long time?

11:25pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Heh. Not so long. Only since high school.

11:26pm Rocket Agent Faleen: alright, so about six years. and you've been at each other's throats since then, as far as your sisters have mentioned.
11:28pm And I saw the look on your face when you saw him again. Just how well do you really think you can handle this alone?

11:36pm Izaya Oriwhorea: More like eight. But I'll be 21 forever, so no point in working out the math.
11:37pm If I've handled it for eight years, what's a few more?
As long as I stay out of Camphoreon, he's peaceful as a lamb.
11:38pm His name itself means "Serene Man, Peaceful Island"

11:38pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Its an unfitting name

11:38pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Well, why don't you meet him? I bet he'd like you.
He likes people who are direct with him. Hence why he can stand my sisters if not me.
11:39pm You seem like one of the most direct people I know here. Other than maybe Frost.

11:42pm Rocket Agent Faleen: I've voiced my side, and concerns over this, but if your still sure you don't want me to submit his file then I'll drop the report.

11:43pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Like I said, you should meet him first and tell me what you think.
Any objections to that?

11:43pm Rocket Agent Faleen: I don't have any interest in meeting him.
11:44pm He sides with trainers, already we have a problem.
why, do you want me to meet him?

11:44pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Are you sure you're not just afraid of running into your sister?
Believe it or not, I think you and he would get along quite well.

11:44pm Rocket Agent Faleen: I would rather avoid that as well.
11:46pm Being civil and getting along are different things.

11:46pm Izaya Oriwhorea: And I think you two would get along.
But if you'd rather not find out, suit yourself.

11:47pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Why do you think we would get along?

11:47pm Izaya Oriwhorea: I've yet to see such a lack of curiosity to match yours, Faleen-chan.

11:48pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Its the wrong subject.
I don't do people like you do.

11:48pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Unfortunately, discussing him and his personality is just serving to give me a headache, so I really can't explain in full detail why.
But if you met him, you might understand.
He's direct, like your robots.
You ask him something and he'll reply honestly.
11:49pm That's all I'll say.

11:49pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Alright, fare enough.

11:49pm Izaya Oriwhorea: You DID say before you dislike humans because you can't trust them, yes?

11:50pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Yes, I did

11:51pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Well. To give you an idea without going into detail...this man used to know where I lived and could have easily killed me in my sleep whenever he wanted. But he's too good for that.
11:52pm In short, he's not the sort you have to worry about deceiving you.
Even if he hated your guts like he does mine.

11:54pm Rocket Agent Faleen: I'll reserve judgment for now, since I don't quite understand.
But it almost puts him in the category that Rosie. It isn't much better.

11:54pm Izaya Oriwhorea: I've really got to meet that Rosie.
11:55pm And please don't misunderstand. That's not to say he isn't a bad person.
He's just not human.
And you can't really call an animal 'bad' or 'good', can you?

11:56pm Rocket Agent Faleen: I'm surprised you haven't already, considering you already know about her.
No, I don't suppose you can.

11:57pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Well I haven't been able to since Jerry-kun had Shizu-chan start bodyguarding Izumi-chan, who now hangs out with Rosie.
But I would if you went and talked to him for a while~
11:58pm You like pokemon. Just think of him as a pokemon.

Today
12:00am Rocket Agent Faleen: I like dark pokemon,
Izumi the mechanic arm girl?
... I don't know how you keep all this information straight about whats going on.
12:01am though I suppose how I can keep mechanic schematics in my head while I work

12:01am Izaya Oriwhorea: You like pokemon because they're pokemon and not humans. That's the main point.
12:02am And yes, it's probably like that. I enjoy my work and you enjoy yours.
12:03am But it's really getting late, so if you don't go to bed soon, I'll send Celty over to use Hyponisis on you. She knows too many Rockets who work too hard and that you're one of them, so she'll do it.

12:04am Rocket Agent Faleen: Oh, she's welcome to come over anytime.
but getting some sleep sounds like a good idea right now. I have to be back in robotics tomorrow early.

12:05am Izaya Oriwhorea: You're not suppose to respond to threats that way.
12:06am But I'm glad you see my point. Good night, partner.

12:06am Rocket Agent Faleen: Good night.

((Additional Character Notes: Blood_Goddess mentioned that during this conversation, Faleen would never admit it, but she was feeling 'unsettled'. She explained this was because "she's just been so sure of herself for so long. She changed she way she wanted to see people, and she stuck with it. But Izaya has a point with the personal vs. professional. As much as she wants to deny it, she can't because she knows he has a point. She so desperately doesn't want that to be right."

She doesn't want that to be right "because it would mean that she does care about people more then just professionally. [It would mean] She enjoys spending time with Hayes, and talking to the other Rockets, and helping them when they need it. She likes being a part of that team. [...]and to be honest, she likes having a partner.
But she's so tired of being hurt. It's better to not get attached at all than to end up hurt."

I noticed that this sort of argument was starting to sound familiar before realizing that this was almost exactly the sort of conversation Izaya once had with Aila (or several, but the first one seems to have been in 'Her Recruit's Keeper'.) He's also had very similar arguments with Xander on the subject of friends, such as in 'Bored Now'.

However, in those conversations, it was Izaya who was saying that relationships don't matter and that it's better not to get close to people emotionally. He had the same idea that Faleen does now. The fact that he's taking the opposite stance in this conversation between him and Faleen had me confused initially. I couldn't figure out why he was contradicting himself and if he was playing the devil's advocate or what.

Then I remembered about the conversation Aila and Izaya had in 'We Need to Talk' and her last words to him in the raid 'All Your Base'. Though he claimed to not understand why she died for him, I think he gradually came to acknowledge her final lesson - that people do matter in a team, and that you end up having to care for them, whether you want to or not. It's an involuntary thing, growing attached to others; and it can happen right under your nose without your expecting it. In fact, you might not even realize that you had an attachment to them at all until they're gone. Such was the case with Izaya and Aila. He might be taking the stance that Aila and Xander took against him now because he finally realized the message that Aila had been trying to send him and now he's trying to pass it on to Faleen.

On a funny note, Blood_Goddess mentioned that Izaya started out this way and gradually came to change his opinion whereas Faleen started out more trusting of people and gradually came to change her opinion to a more cynical one, becoming this way later. She said it was because "Faleen's pretty much lost everyone she's ever cared about" and that Lance was pretty much her last straw. There was the death of Faleen's and Rosie's mother, and Kofuku was once Faleen's friend too, but then pretty much abandoned her. After Lance turned against her was when she finally gave up.

Izaya's experience with Aila's death and Faleen's experience with Lance's turning traitor on Team Rocket seem to have been their turning points. I know Izaya used to argue with Aila in circles for hours and that they would never get anywhere. I wonder if he and Faleen are headed in the same direction. XD But of course between Aila and Izaya, points were brought up on boths sides that neither could ignore, so that's likely to happen between Faleen and Izaya too. An example is this very chat they had over their tablets.

[Document Entry 006] - Out on a Mission
(Takes place during Home Coming and right before Another Rocket Rescue.)

((Faleen and Izaya communicate between the new tablet Faleen built for her partner and her own via chat.))

1:08pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Orihara, are you not at HQ?

1:08pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Faleen-san! What a surprise!
Actually, no, I am not. Are you?

1:09pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Yes we're all back, where are you?

1:10pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Oh! That's good to hear. As expected of our team, particularly with you leading them.
As far as myself...I'm out running a little errand. Should be back shortly. Don't worry about it.
How's Hayes-san?

1:14pm Rocket Agent Faleen: I'm flattered, but it was actually TRP that was leading. I don't lead missions.
An errand? alright, just be careful.
Elite Hayes is doing as well as can be expected, He's at least standing now, He'll be okay.

1:16pm Izaya Oriwhorea: You will soon, though. And I'm sure TRP couldn't have done it alone. You're always helping getting everyone rounded up. Natural leadership skills there.
1:17pm Yes, seems our stubborn Aschy-kun got himself lost with no way to contact headquarters. That, or he just doesn't want to, but after this long, I doubt even he would reject help.
Standing? Oh? What happened before that he could not?

1:19pm Rocket Agent Faleen: I just try and do my job. I'm not in a rush to advance in rank. I don't think I can for a while yet anyway.
Agent Asch? he got lost?
well, he could, its just that the same can't be said for some of the others we got back

1:20pm Izaya Oriwhorea: That's exactly why you're likely to be promoted. They love humble people like you. So devoted to your cause without even a thought to your own self-advancement~ How noble. <3
1:22pm And yes, the very same. That idiot went out on a simple mission to bring back a Mew clone that escaped during transportation as a shipment. I tracked him down to Sandalwood hospital, and he's not alone.
...Any idea what exactly happened to the others?
Oh, and I was curious...how did the boy take to that Jolteon?
1:23pm I trust Bro, Hirss, and Boss got back to Jerome okay?

1:27pm Rocket Agent Faleen: I have a lot to loose with a promotion at this point in time. Thankfully that position is not being offered to me yet. maybe someday.
... Sandalwood hospital... he's in a civilian hospital? Yeah, get him back here as soon as you can please. but please please be careful not to get caught. we just got back missing team mates. we don't need two more in jail.
Shadow? I saw him earlier, he seems really confused with the Jolteon, she's been following him around closely.
And yes, I made sure he got his three pokemon back.
Most of the team is okay, I'll fill you in once you get back from your errand.

1:36pm Izaya Oriwhorea: I'm sure you''ll be ready by then.
Yes, the fool is somehow in a civilian hospital. And I didn't used to be an underground info-broker for nothing, Faleen-san. Please, have a little faith.
1:37pm Confused, mmm? Interesting. I wonder, did you read the note in the database by that Jolteon's name? It was small, but I thought you might have taken an interest in it.

1:37pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Ah, your right, My apologies.

1:38pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Hahaha, not at all. It's not as though I haven't given you reason to doubt me. I was only teasing~

1:39pm Rocket Agent Faleen: I havn't read it. I was in a rush to get going. I'll take a glance at it though when i get a moment.
1:40pm Well, give Asch my best, and contact if you need help. I do need to get back to helping out though/

1:40pm Izaya Oriwhorea: It's fine; like I said, nothing really important. Just that said pokeball was registered under Shadow's name, but found in Lance's possession. Weren't you in charge of some procedure with him...?

1:41pm Rocket Agent Faleen: ...

1:41pm Izaya Oriwhorea: Oh, I'll give him your best, alright. And mine too. He deserves it after this wild Farfetched chase he's put me through...
And I'm missing the welcome back party for the mission-goers. So disappointing.
1:42pm Faleen-chan...? Are you alright?

1:43pm Rocket Agent Faleen: Yes, I'm fine.
We'll talk when you get back, take care.

[Document Entry 007] - Happy Birthday to Me
(Takes place sometime after Three's a Crowd on May 4th.)

A black-haired man sat in casual clothes in one of the rec rooms, making sure it was deserted before he entered. He still wore the usual, drab color of black. But instead of one of his favorite parkas (the most recent of which Asch had thrown up on), the grunt had donned a regular, short-sleeved hoodie with a 3/4ths-sleeved shirt underneath.

Black bags had appeared under crimson eyes, and his expression was solemn as he stared at the food he'd brought and set before him on the coffee table. There were some multi-colored pokeblocks, a few berries, and some poffins that he had bought earlier that morning from the Camphoreon Department store. Amid the colorful pokemon snacks, there was a single, un-adorned cupcake that was bare of frosting or sprinkles.

Reaching into his pocket, Grunt Nakura pulled out a single birthday candle and stuck it into the center of the cupcake. Then he released the six pokemon he owned. "Look what I have, guys," he said softly with a faint smile. "I'm having a birthday party for me. And you're all invited~"

Celty was first, soon followed by Mairu and Kururi. The girls oogled at the food, Celty being the first to cast Izaya a questioning look. She wondered what the occasion was. He was never this nice...and yet he looked so tired. Worn out. Lonely, even. Celty knew that feeling. She levitated closer to her Rocket trainer.

Mairu and Kururi glanced at each other before pouncing on the delicacies laid out before them and happily stuffing their faces. When Riviere was released, he happily joined them, but Kid the Absol was far too troubled to eat. The food had been divided equally until the Purrloin and Zoura had scattered the mess across the table. Kid was busily picking up the fallen bits and making sure the foods were grouped in the right categories.

The twins earned a glare from him when he realized they had begun to knock things down on purpose, just to watch him pick them up and sort them. They smiled sheepishly, but Kid just took Mairu and placed her on one couch while placing Kururi on the opposite. There. Symmetrical. That, and the twins would likely behave better away from each other.

The better-behaved Riviere enjoyed hogging the food for himself before Kid began to pull a portion of the treats away from him with his blade appendage in order to divide them equally. But an overly-enthusiastic Chingling - Delic - latched onto the Absol's back in a loving greeting.

Kid jumped and turned to glare at the abomination. It was the only one of Izaya's pokemon that wasn't symmetrical other than himself, and he couldn't stand the sight of it. Usually their trainer kept Delic in his storage unit, but apparently not today. Today was different.

Presumably intimidated by Kid's death glare, the psychic-type hurried toward Izaya and shoved its tiny body under his arm so that he was cradling it. Normally the grunt swatted him away, but...this time he actually picked up the pokemon and hugged it to his chest.

"Ching...?" Delic questioned, looking up. The dark-types all glanced toward their human. Celty had been the first to notice, but soon they all realized - Izaya was not his usual self.

"Purr, purrloin?" Mairu asked, crawling over her couch to take up a place on Izaya's right shoulder. Kururi quietly mirrored her sister's movements, but instead landed on the man's left shoulder. Kid, pushing the last of the sweets into its place (he hadn't been able to stop even as he'd looked over at Orihara), snatched Riviere off the table, placed the fox between his protective front legs, and sat obediently before the Rocket.

Izaya smiled weakly up at them all when he realized they were unnaturally silent. "Heh...strange. Almost like you guys understand human emotions," he chuckled, but his tone was tired and his laughter half-hearted. "Tell me...do you understand how it feels...to be completely alone in the world?"

Celty levitated up to Izaya's eye-level and whirred comfortingly. The man smirked. "Heh...it's not that I don't know how to find company. I just prefer to keep apart from them...observe them. But of course that causes the majority of them to reject me; especially when I start to test them." He smiled bitterly. "I suppose my experiments and hobbies come at a price. And at most times I don't mind it, or else I would stop, but..."

Izaya stared down at the single cupcake. It was now covered partially with pokeblock bits, poffin crumbs, and berry juice after the excitement over the pokemon treats, making it appear as though it were deliberately decorated. Whether or not the pokemon had done this on purpose was anyone's guess, but it brought a small smile to Izaya's face. A genuine one this time.

"It's nice not to be alone on my birthday," he said at last, giving Delic an extra-tight hug as he happily chimed. "Ching chingling!"

Mairu and Kururi licked Izaya's face simultaneously, making him unable to decide which to flick off his shoulders first before they had hopped off of their own accord. Kid sighed heavily and cut up one of the poffins for Riviere to eat. The Zorua ignored the small piece and went for a whole one. The party was back on, and Mairu and Kururi knew there was just one thing left to do. The stood on either side of the cupcake and mewed to draw Orihara's attention to it. He laughed, more cheerfully this time, and lit the single candle with a borrowed lighter.

"Another 21st birthday~" he snickered quietly. "Happy birthday to me."

[Document Entry 008] - Medicine for Izaya
(Takes place a little after Bugged by Bugs and right before Kiss Kiss Fall in Love.)

It was nearly Valentine's Day again - four years from the date Izaya had found Delic the Chingling. Or, rather, from the date that Delic had found Izaya. Once he'd found the man, he knew he couldn't leave him. Izaya was obviously a mess; untrue to himself or anyone else. Delic had had a feeling that Izaya knew the Chingling knew it, too, because he had mostly kept the Psychic-type inside of his Love Ball. The informant might have made a show of not wanting to be around such a clingy pokemon, but Delic knew it was because Izaya couldn't handle him or what he knew.

Like his namesake, Delic the Chingling knew Izaya was fragile and just wanted to be loved but wouldn't allow himself to. So, when Delic tried to show Izaya the love and affection he so obviously needed and craved, his trainer freaked out. But even more than he couldn't handle Delic, Izaya couldn't handle facing the truth. That was why he lied to himself and why he frustrated his psychic type so.

All the people near to Delic's trainer that he couldn't just put away in pokeballs, he pushed away emotionally instead. It saddened Delic to watch Izaya do this time after time. He was hurting himself more than anyone else, so why? Love, compassion, affection…perhaps the cowardly man was more afraid of the pain of those things than the pain of being alone. After all, he'd already had a taste due to an incident with a human called Aila, and while that hadn't yet destroyed him, it still seemed to be eating away at him little by little even to current day. Delic supposed that was a fair reason for the informant to be scared of feelings like that, but then what was the point of living? How could life really be lived if it was devoid of those things? That was what Izaya didn't seem to understand.

With V-day fast approaching, though, Delic had new hope. This new hope had manifested itself as a Shiny, pink Sneasel by the name of Psyche who had recently 'found' Izaya much the same way Delic had; that was, by stumbling upon him one day, noticing the human's incredibly lonely demeanor, and clinging to him for all their worth in an attempt to rid him of said loneliness. Needless to say, the ex-Rocket had been startled out of his wits, but since Sneasel was a pokemon he felt he understood better than Chingling due to it being a dark type, he allowed Psyche to stay. Delic had a new pink pokemon pal on Izaya's team and the two became fast friends. Psyche, as it turned out, seemed pretty happy to befriend anyone who was open to the idea (and, Delic suspected, many who were not). However happy the Chingling was to have Psyche around now, though, Delic's enthusiasm and joy did not appear to be shared by their mutual trainer.

Obtaining a Shiny pokemon hadn't seemed to do much for Izaya's spirits. He wasn't really interested in the rare coloring of Psyche when the Rocket Labs seemed to be able to create anything they could think up these days. Besides, humans had always been the focus of his attentions; not pokemon. That was why it was his fellow humans who had gotten him down. Even just days away from a holiday that Izaya was more perky than usual on, Delic had never seen the man as upset and unnerved as then. Not in all the four years he'd known him. Something had happened; maybe even several somethings.

Namie seemed more than happy to share what she knew when Izaya wasn't around to see his pokemon meeting to discuss him. It turned out that the man had had a very rough past few days. Faleen had defected from the Rockets and Izaya had gone to find her, only to have gotten himself nearly killed by whatever - or whomever - she had become. Izaya had voiced the theory that he believed something was in her mind and body with her which seemed to be confirmed when Faleen almost died trying to stop herself from speaking the words to kill her ex-partner. Izaya, who appeared to have actually preferred to die in place of Faleen, had panicked before determining that getting as far away from the ex-Rocket agent was probably the safest action for all those concerned.

But that wasn't all. When he had returned, their trainer had been questioned by Agent Bishop - a questioning that had quickly escalated into what Izaya had termed a show of power. The agent had knocked him out and then threatened to kill him if he so much as tapped his foot without permission again. And if that hadn't been enough to shake up the informant, Izaya seemed convinced that dead people such as Aila and a man called KO were coming back to life. Celty the Spiritomb was surprised to hear this, as an answer to the question of the afterlife or at least of everlasting life had been one of the reasons she had been stolen in the first place.

Celty also believed that one of the original reasons Izaya had joined Team Rocket was to find out what he could about secret research regarding ghosts and ghost type pokemon like her in hopes of finding the answer to being able to watch over humanity for all of eternity. Oddly, though, that seemed to be the last thing on Izaya's mind. He seemed more flustered and frustrated about the idea of a dead Aila walking around as the Grunt Gaia than joyous. Of course this was probably because he had yet to uncover the truth behind the mystery, but Celty and the rest of Izaya's pokemon were beginning to think it was less about wanting to know how to become immortal and more about wanting to know if the Aila he knew was buried somewhere within Gaia. There was no further proof the pokemon needed to confirm that Izaya had changed. It was whether that change was for better or worse that was the true question.

But last night had been the last straw. At the end of the day, Izaya had come into his room, his face pale and aghast like no expression he had ever worn before, fake or otherwise. He walked to his bed and slumped onto the edge, staring ahead without seeing, his back in a slouch, the picture of defeat. He stayed like that for hours. Celty had known because she had been there the whole time, though he hadn't appeared to have noticed her. Eventually she got so concerned, even for Izaya, that she nudged him backward, urging him to lie down and rest. When he managed to lie down flat on his back but continued to stare up at the ceiling, motionless, she finally knocked him out with a Hypnosis attack and released his other pokemon to call a meeting.

According to Kid, Izaya had finally been convinced that the Egg of Arceus had caused some humans to be able to understand a single type of pokemon. Though Namie had protested that Izaya had firmly been in denial when told by first KO and then, later, Zacharie, Kid the Absol explained that this had been a different situation. The humans known as Aulus and Tambrey had been there talking to him when it had happened. This time Izaya couldn't write off the phenomenon as a joke or scam because he had heard them himself - bug types, it seemed. After all he had done to try and deny that pokemon were like humans, this was a slap to his face. A much-needed and well-deserved one, according to Namie, but not something he could easily deal with during this time when he had so much else to cause him emotional and mental torment. He was breaking down bit by bit. Currently he seemed to be in shock, but who knew what he'd do next?

None of them knew what to do. Even when, through their combined efforts and relayed stories, they could figure out at least components of what had caused Izaya to become the way he had, nobody knew how to handle or cure him. They were merely pokemon to their trainer; monsters that could never hold a candle to his beloved human beings. Maybe he would be forced to see them differently now that he had heard some of them speak, but perhaps it would make him hate them more than ever. What could they possibly have done to help him?

After several long hours of debate, the pokemon returned to their pokeballs. It would be dawn soon and Celty warned them that Izaya would wake for Trainee duties. She returned to her Odd Keystone to rest, deciding that perhaps the answer of how to deal with their trainer would come to them in time. Psyche and Delic, however, were not content to merely wait. The pair had come up with a plan of their own - one they would carry out without the knowledge or involvement of the rest of Izaya's team. After all, they knew him in a different way than the others did; not as a grumpy, manipulative, neglectful owner, but as a lonesome man who refused to make friends because he was too scared. Maybe the other pokemon wouldn't have gone to such lengths for Izaya, but Psyche and Delic were sure has heck willing to try.

The next time Izaya planned a trip to Camphoreon City - which happened to be that afternoon with how badly the man felt he needed to get off base - Delic and Psyche made sure to tag along. Izaya had been too lost in thoughts and too tired to care or protest. They were good pokemon for his cover as a civilian, anyway, since they clung to him unlike one would expect abused, Rocket pokemon to do. It might have been common sense that Psyche would have attracted more attention as a Shiny than was probably wise, but Izaya was too occupied with other things to think about that, either.

The usually happy-go-lucky pair were vigilant and acting peculiar as they accompanied their trainer out. Izaya, who was out of it, didn't notice. He sat himself on a park bench and proceeded to watch the people in the park with their pokemon. Delic and Psyche, seeing their chance, hopped up to their human as if asking permission to go play. If their trainer had been paying more attention, he might have noticed the odd eagerness and mischief in their demeanors. Instead, he waved them off with an absent gesture, leaning heavily against the bench and staring ahead with an unfocused gaze, much like he had on his bed the night before.

Hardly daring to believe their luck, the Chingling and Sneasel dashed off to go 'play' through the trees. They knew that Izaya knew that of all his pokemon, they were the least-likely to run off with the intent of escaping him as a trainer. That was probably why he was fine with giving them so much freedom, clingy as they usually were. That made the circumstances ideal for their plan. Once they were out of sight among the foliage of the park, they changed direction and headed out back toward the city's buildings, particularly the stores and shops. Delic, who was more familiar with Camphoreon (and a great deal of other things) than Psyche (who may as well have been a baby) led the route through the park that allowed them to double back without being seen by their trainer. Finally, the two were on their own, losing themselves among the bustling Camphoreon City crowds.

Psyche and Delic looked high and low, but no matter how many shops they passed, nothing seemed to be what Izaya needed. Psyche had been sure that some ice cream or maybe those sparkly heels in that one window would have improved the man's mood, but Delic, more familiar with Izaya than Psyche, assured the younger pokemon that they would be of little use. The pair were just beginning to question whether anything at all would help their poor human when they heard someone at a pharmacy yelling at some shady-looking fellow.

"What are you trying to pull? We only give prescribed medication to people with real prescriptions signed by real doctors, you got that? Don't you dare try to peddle your s**t around here or anywhere near here again or I'm calling the cops!"

Psyche cried. The Sneasel bounded toward the pharmacy.

the Chingling called, using Psychic to levitate his friend. that kind of sick.>

the Shiny pink pokemon asked, tilting his head cluelessly.

Delic chuckled at Psyche's naivety. It was endearing, really. Wait, no. That wasn't absolutely true, was it? He'd heard of humans using things to pick them up when they were down. Mostly it was alcohol, but Izaya couldn't stand the smell, so there was no way they'd be able to slip him some without him knowing. Maybe there was something else, though… but how would they get it? And where would they start on knowing what sort to get? There were so many different kinds of drugs, both prescription and over-the-counter!

"Hey, you! Lowlife! Get your sneaky, thieving Sneasel out of here, too!"

Delic blinked and shook his head. Whoops. He must have let Psyche go while he was thinking. The dark and ice type had hurried off to go look at the different medications available on the shelves in the store but had been caught by the same angry pharmacist who had just thrown out the other man. Said pharmacist seemed to have believed that Psyche belonged to said man because he picked the Shiny pokemon up by the scruff of the neck and tossed him out the door after his assumed owner.

The man grunted as he was hit by the pokemon projectile, but when he turned around he was too astonished to be angry. A Shiny pokemon? Here? And all his for the taking? No…it was too good to be true.

Meanwhile, Delic had caught up to Psyche and helped pick the Sneasel back up, setting him on his feet and checking to make sure he wasn't hurt. The sparkly pink pokemon, despite being a bit annoyed at having been thrown, bounced back quickly. Both the Chingling and Sneasel stopped and looked up when they realized the man had been staring at them.

Delic asked, getting an idea.

Psyche scratched his head.

The man, heedless of their conversation, suddenly threw a ball at the Shiny Sneasel. Psyche's mouth opened, too surprised to give any other reaction, but Delic caught the sphere with his Psychic powers and gave the human who had thrown it a skeptical look. Then he tossed it back at guy's head.

you like balls getting thrown at you?> the Chingling asked, frowning. He turned to his companion.

The younger pokemon still didn't seem to see where this was all going. He was still trying to figure out why the stranger had thrown a ball at him. It hadn't occurred to the Sneasel that he might have been thought to be wild.

He gestured to the shady fellow who now had a bump on his head where his ball had been returned to him.

Psyche scratched his head again.

Delic sighed. He grinned slowly as their groaning target began to understand what had happened. He became hostile toward them as he registered what the Chingling had done to him.

Psyche asked, taking up a stance. He wasn't really fond of fighting, but he could put up a good one if need be. Delic had protected him from the ball and now this man seemed to want to attack Delic for it. There was no way Psyche was just going to stand by and let him.

And with that, both pokemon leapt forward at the oncoming human.

------------------------------------

The battle didn't last long at all. Delic had knocked the man's occupied pokeball out of his hand before he could press the button to summon his own pokemon. Simultaneously, Psyche had sprung for the guy's thick jacket to slash at his many pockets. He did this in the hopes of two things: one, that he could prevent the man from summoning any other pokemon into battle using pokeballs that might have been hidden in those pockets, and two, finding this medicine that Delic had assured him would help Izaya.

With his pokeballs sent crashing to the floor and rolling into gutters, the shady man was on his hands and knees trying to snatch them all back up. He had no time to fight off the pink monsters that were attacking him without any apparent human to give them commands. Delic had counted on this. With the guy unable to defend himself, he hopped onto the fellow's head and used Confusion (a reduced version, since it was directly on a human rather than a fellow pokemon,) to leave him dazed.

that’s
how Rockets do things,> the psychic type remarked, proud of their work.

The Sneasel held up a claw with a tiny plastic bag impaled on it. Several small, round, colorful tablets were visible inside.

"Hey! That's my Molly!" the man on the ground moaned, his arms too occupied clutching his pokeballs to his chest to grab the bag from Psyche.

Psyche frowned, wrinkling his nose and following the guy's gaze to the bag. name these?>

Delic tried not to laugh. He couldn't manage to hold it all in, though, and some slipped out as snickers. He considered the tablets.

Psyche's ears perked and he brightened. Finally, something he knew! No wonder Delic had said they would help! This was the perfect medicine for Izaya. Why hadn't they gone looking for this stuff from the start?

Delic praised him, still chuckling. It may have been a rather extreme solution, but drastic times called for drastic measures. Delic had heard a great deal about the drug from the clubs that he'd been at before he'd been a part of Izaya's team. It was the sort of thing that people took to lose themselves in - ironically - a 'psychedelic' manner when taken in a setting with colorful lights and music.

The Valentine's Day Ball may not have been a club or a rave, but it was bound to have lights and music. Probably dancing. If they expected Izaya to enjoy himself there or even to go at all, this drug was likely to be their best option. Their trainer needed to stop being lost in himself and maybe learn to lose himself in the moment instead.

the heart-patterned Chingling told his partner. He took the small bag of tablets from Psyche and hurried back toward the park. Treating the bag like he would have a Held Item, he stowed it in the loop at his back that also held his rope so that his other limbs were free. Psyche, meanwhile, was so delighted with their success that he was practically skipping along after. Without anyone left to stop them, the pair made their getaway.

Delic, meanwhile, was still trying to remember all the effects of MDMA to make sure it was what Izaya really needed before giving it to him. The primary desired effect he'd heard of was the euphoria that gave the drug the nickname of 'Ecstasy'. It was supposed to instill a sense of general well-being and happiness, even if it was a short-term thing. There was also the feeling of communication coming easily or simply as well as increased sociability. While Izaya certainly seemed like the sort of guy that communication came easily to, Delic knew this wasn't exactly the case.

Just because the man could talk to distract or misdirect and pull s**t out of his a** didn't mean he was any good at communicating his true feelings. Part of the reason for that was probably because he was in denial about them to even himself. Perhaps the drug would allow him to get in touch with his inner feelings as well as be more open and honest for a change. It might even work better than alcohol because as predictable as the stuff was, who knew what kind of drunk the informant was? There was ever chance he wasn't the talkative kind of drunk. Presuming he even got drunk on whatever they could slip him without him managing to detect it. Nope, Ecstasy would definitely be less conspicuous.

If Delic recalled correctly, Ecstasy was also better than alcohol because it supposedly had entactogenic effects on people that increased feelings of empathy, making them feel closer with others. Now that was something Izaya needed, and badly. Pushing everyone away and cutting himself off from the emotional was not helping him at all if his current state was anything to go by. That settled it; Izaya needed this 'medicine' and they were going to make sure he got it.

Things went surprisingly smoothly after they reached the park. Retracing their route through the trees, the pokemon pair returned to their trainer with the indication that they were prepared to leave. Izaya got up from his bench, by then ready to head back as well. During his pokemon's absence, he had realized that being out in the city was the same as being on base while he was still a prisoner of the thoughts in his own head. Relieved that everything seemed to be going well, Psyche and Delic followed Izaya back to the Rocket Base.

From there, it was even more of a piece of cake. Child's play, really, since the last thing their trainer expected was to be the subject of a plot conceived by his own pocket monsters. Once in Izaya's room again, Delic managed to ask Celty to hide the bag of tiny tablets under her Odd Keystone. Even if the other pokemon spent most of their time inside their balls and Namie was usually out following Izaya around, Celty generally stayed in the room in her Keystone to keep watch. Although skeptical of the Chingling's claim that the tablets were medicine for Izaya, she agreed to guard them. Celty had never been one to ask too many questions, and if it could help their trainer, she wasn't going to look too much into it. Delic seemed like he knew what he was doing and Psyche believed that, too.

Psyche was a little too eager to want to give Izaya the tablets as soon as possible. His psychic friend assured him that the depressed man would get it when the time was right because the medicine they had, although highly likely to be effective, was quite strong in potency and might have been a tad too effective. Though the Sneasel wasn't away, Delic knew they only had one shot at this and he wanted to make it count for something. Once Izaya realized he had been drugged by his pokemon, chances were he wouldn't let it happen again. If they were going to do it, it was best to wait for the Valentine's Ball when he would be surrounded by people he knew with an atmosphere of celebration and companionship, creating an optimal setting for the Ecstasy to have the best influence on the man.

Finally, the day came. Delic knew that Izaya had been considering attending the Valentine's Day Ball regardless of his recent depression or the fact that the KSO was throwing it. The human-lover couldn't resist a gathering of people like that, particularly with the theme of love itself. Delic also knew that his trainer was likely to bring him and Psyche along as his cover pokemon and also because they fit the Valentine's Day theme. When he brought the pair out of their Love Balls, however, he didn't appear to be in any state to go out.

"Psyche, Delic - I know you two may have been looking forward to the ball tonight, but I don’t think I'm going to go," he told them in a monotone voice, his expression impassive. "Too much has been going on both out there and in here and that's made it too risky for me to go around doing whatever I please."

Psyche's ears drooped and he looked at Delic. The Chingling, however, was frowning at Izaya, his stubby arms crossed over his rounded chest. Liar, he thought. You're just brooding and sulking and being a coward again.

"Since I was going to let you out anyway, though, I thought we could go out for a walk, perhaps in the woods to train," the man continued.

Celty, having overheard the conversation from her Odd Keystone, peeked out and peered at Delic curiously. Catching her eye, the Chingling gave her a wink and Celty hesitated before nodding. Moving her stone ever so slightly to the right, she tapped one of the twins' Repeat Balls so that it knocked into the other and the second one rolled off the desk. The button on the ball was pressed upon impact with the ground and Mairu the Liepard popped out.

Mairu hadn't been fully informed of Delic's plan, but she and Kururi had been asked to cause a distraction if need be and she was more than happy to do so. Just as Izaya turned around to see what had happened, Mairu hopped back up onto the table where her ball had been, snatched up Kururi's Repeat Ball in her mouth, and jumped back down. She used gravity's pull on her weight to press down on the door handle as she leapt to the floor, effectively opening said door and creating an exit to escape through.

Izaya was up on his feet and after her in the blink of an eye, cursing in Japanese under his breath. He snatched Mairu's ball off the table. "You two stay in here!" he told Psyche and Delic before slipping out the door in pursuit of his Liepard. Delic and Psyche looked at each other. Delic grinned and Psyche let out a cry of glee.

Celty warned them when the Chingling came to retrieve the tiny bag and pills from her.

Delic regarded the pills. Some had been partially ground into some powder under Celty's Keystone.

Psyche despaired, seeing the state of the powered tablets.

Delic assured his pall, patting him on the head.

The Spiritomb cast him an incredulous look.

------------------------------------

When Izaya came back, he was panting, but a pair of Repeat Balls were safely nestled in his pocket. "Those mischievous brats," he grumbled crossly, retrieving the balls and slamming them down in a box on the table. He covered it with a lid so they couldn't roll off again. "I'm not in the mood for wild Farfetch'd chases…eh?"

Delic hopped down from the bed where he'd been relaxing to join Psyche on the ground where the Sneasel was happily holding something up to his trainer. Izaya stared at the steaming liquid in the paper cup.

"…Is that for me?" he asked, raising a brow quizzically.

Psyche nodded so enthusiastically that he almost spilled the drink. Izaya quickly accepted the cup from him and held it up to get a whiff of its aroma. "…Tea?" he inquired. "How did you know how to make it, though?"

Delic floated up to Izaya's eye-level and raised a stubby arm. He had been out with Izaya enough times to see how other humans made tea. Izaya remembered this.

"Huh…" The informant seemed suspicious, but not enough to waste the perfectly good cup of hot beverage. "Thanks." If it had been any other pokemon of his, he would have done some more investigating, but as eager to please him as Psyche and Delic were known to be, he didn't find it too out of character. He took a sip. "…Not bad." And then another. Soon he downed half the cup.

When set the drink down to get changed for the outdoor outing he'd told Delic and Psyche about, Psyche began to fret.

the Shiny pokemon whispered to Delic, clutching the Chingling's arm.

Delic chuckled, levitating higher to pat the younger pokemon's head in reassurance. If he remembered right, the effects were supposed to being after 30 to 45 minutes. Sometimes it took up to 60. Humans at clubs had claimed the peak was at about 75 to 120 minutes after consumption and that it plateaued for about 3 and a half hours. After 6 hours, though, Izaya would be back to normal. Hopefully by then the ball would be over. It was like they were trying to time the evening for Cinderella's outing; romantic ball, time-limited 'magic', and all. This thought made Delic smile; he rather liked playing the role of the fairy godmother.

Before Izaya was completely ready to leave the base for their stroll in the forest, the results of the drug's effects were beginning to show. He began to smile more and then started to giggle like someone was reminding him of something funny. Eventually he stopped and stared at his phone on the bed for a minute before picking it up and looking up a contact. Then he pressed the call button and it wasn't long before someone on the other end answered.

"Hello! Izumi-chan? It's Izaya! Say, did you hear about that Valentine's Day Ball that the KSO is running…? I was wondering if you might want to go with me." Another little rush of exhilaration fueled the informant. "You know, as my date."

Bingo! Upon hearing those words, Psyche and Delic rushed to the closet where Izaya had his collection of coats, uniforms, and other outfits. Psyche opened the door and Delic charged into the forest of fabrics to find something particular. A few moments later he emerged, victorious, with his prize - a white fur coat with hot pink buttons that had been buried at the very back. He hadn't seen Izaya wear it since the day they had met on Valentine's Day. What better occasion to wear it again to a Valentine's Day Ball?

the Chingling chimed excitedly to his other pokemon companions. Celty was still trying to figure out what had come over Izaya but Psyche was too busy jumping up and down for joy that the medicine had worked.
