[[ D-3 is entering the fray and attacking the pwny! ]]
". . . . up wait up wait up!" came D-3's shouts in the fog. He was not very observant, however, until he brushed his flailing fists against the fiery beast.
OhthankGodhehadarmoron.
Jesus - !!" He backed away into a throng of green and teal bodies, shocked and wiping his gloves down in case there was any chance of getting lit aflame. "Whats is that thing?!"

{Theta 8 logging in for boss showdown.}
Walking for what seemed like hours, Theta 8 really couldn't keep track of his path effectively. The fog was just far too thick! It was like walking through the looming clouds above, a hand outstretching almost able to part way to the blinding froth. Most ahead of him were becoming faint, and those who were lagging behind were furthering in distance it seemed. He'd glance over his shoulder slightly from time to time, to try and make sure the... rather detached 'team' was still intact, but to eight's surprise, as if in the blink of an eye, he was alone. Well how odd... Crooking a brow behind his mask, he tried to listen for any of the murmurs of voices that he'd reduced to white noise on their migration, but all he heard was the soft 'haaaahhh...' of the wind sucking through cavity's that were hidden in the fog.
Well great.... just great. Sighing irritably, he gave a stiffer grip to the stake in one hand, and pushed on. Hopefully there would be a break through from this ghastly condition. It was like walking through a maze blindly. But as he continued onward, a screech took to filling the acrid air. An eerie one that made a chill shoot down his rubber, and cloth clad spine. It sounded like a mixture of a bee hive and... a banshee, to be quite honest. Jerking his head sharply towards the source, he was hesitant to approach... more so to go the other way! But he heard stirring around him, footsteps tapping past. Were those his 'comrades'? But suddenly shouts were heard, human shouts. Surely they weren't attacking what ever creature released such a battle cry... Sighing wearily, he followed what he could, stepping carefully, not wanting to wind up straight in the beasts view.
In his cautious approach, he spied familiar covered bodies starting to gather, around... what the.... As his head tilted back to take a gaze at the creature that stood forth, a covered mouth gaped open in disbelief. How could something like this exist...? It took him a moment to get a grip, mostly from the sound of others fighting, but he figured if there were one less threat on this island, the better. Besides, they certainly couldn't retreat now! Look at that thing! It could take them down with one small lunge! Theta 8 didn't really take note to the other new members that he'd yet to see, the Delta's, but he could care less. In a situation like this, an idiot would only attack another human in this instance. Gripping his stake firmly, T-8 took a deep breath before going at the rabid monstrosity, thrusting his sharply tipped widdled wood into the mutants hind quarters as best he could. Hopefully weakening the legs would give way to reaching the more sensitive area's of the body; brain, heart, eyes. Though that mouth... it oozed fire like a flamethrower!

{Theta Nine enters and is *attacking* the boss.}
The fog outside was blinding. After the nth close encounter with a sheer cliff to the side, Theta Nine decided to head toward that unmistakeably loud sound. From his quick glance around at the others in the tent, it didn't look like they had been assigned much by the way of ranged weapons, other than the handguns, and those only had rubber pellets. So it might be safe to assume (as safe as anything could be in this crazy place) that whatever was making the noise was standing on solid ground.
It was, in fact, waiting on solid ground. Theta Nine gaped at the... horse? No, nothing near so comforting. Horses do not spout flame. Horses do not leave destruction in their wake. An incautious step forward, fists at the ready, sent him stumbling as the ground rotted away under his advancing foot.

{Theta 6 is entering and attack the boss}
She was lost and she couldn't really see much of anything, but she could hear people and so she went toward the noise. A noise that as she got closer she was not so sure she wanted to be near, but she kept moving anyway wishing not to be alone in the fog. Ugh she was going to die.
Finally everyone came into view, some of her teammate and some others wearing similar outfits, of a different color, she thought. Not only that there was a beast, like she had never seen before standing in front of them and everyone was attacking it. Provoke the beast, yeah that was a great idea.
Then she spotted it, a pendant, in the beast mane. One very important key to survival and everyone was attempting to get it from the work of art standing before her. Poor thing, to bad such an amazing creature was probably going to die, not that everyone was even able to hit it.
She looked to the stake her hand and shrugged decided she might as well try for the pendant and hoped she got it. It was not as if she was going anywhere and standing still most certainly wasn't goint to save her. So she charged stake at ready to carve the beast into oblivion.

[ Delta 12 entering and attacking boss ]
Twelve blindly stumbled around in the fog for a while, occasionally he would screech to a halt to avoid falling off the cliff edge. He stepped into a clearing and sighed with relief, but only to realize that there was something there. Shocked at the sight of the equine-esque monster, Twelve stood still and wildly looked left and right. He noticed the familiar green of fellow Delta members, but also the unusual blue-decked uniforms of another group. On the bright side, neither group was attacking each other, but the creature in the middle instead.
Cautiously, he stepped closer and observed the horse. It spewed fire and left dark, decaying hoof prints in the ground. Not only that, but it was a towering twenty-feet behemoth.
It was a pretty awesome sight. He was almost tempted not to attack, almost, but the he noticed the gleaming pendant twisted into its mane. That was when Twelve realized why everyone was attacking it so fervently. Reluctantly, he took out the dagger, playfully swinging it in his hands before he jumped forward and slashed the creature.

(Delta 8 entering and attacking, via Melee style, the boss)
He didn't know how he'd gotten lost, likely separated from his group, well he knew it was due to the fog. He didn't however know how it was that he hadn't kept close enough to the others. He'd started out keeping close to them, but somehow he'd lost sight of them.
stumbling out of the fog, as it seemed to just part. He stared ahead. Well, he knew where a lot of people were now...and why. There were people in green, he knew they were from Delta, but the blue ones he didn't know, till he looked at their uniform.
That beast, which resembled a horse to some extent, didn't seem very friendly. In fact it seemed like something that warranted all of them attacking it. It was, while surveying the beast, that he noted a pendant and put it together with that cell phone message from a few minutes ago.
Oh! Well he went right for the monster, leaping at it and aiming a fist for it's face. He was without a weapon, so he hoped his hand would do some damage...to the monster not himself.

((Theta 1 is entering to attack the Very Scary Pony of DOOM.))
Well, not only had she been abandoned by her fellows Thetas (they were NOT part of the sorority, she was totally and completely sure of it by now) Theta-1 was only left to wander around aimlessly in the fog. Until she saw the rather large and extremely terrifying horse. "Horse." She said out loud, as though remembering what this was for the first time. "Biiiiiig horse." Horses lives in big pastures full of grass and sometimes people rode on them. Sometimes they were nice, but sometimes they were mean. This must be the second part of that.
Having no time to really consider what remembering all that could ever possibly mean, Theta-1 instead looked down at her cell phone, then back up at the horse. Ah, a pendant. And less than 5? That wasn't very promising. There were already so many others here and prizes were rarely handed out to those who arrived late. Oh, well. Better make the most of it. Brandishing her gun quite nicely (had she seen someone in a movie do that? Ooh, movies... Those were... People acting out stories on a big screen, right?) and shoved in some bullets, though sadly they were rubber. "This won't help any!" She muttered to herself, pausing to take aim at the Giant Pony of Doom, so called in her mind a number of times already. "I guess that means... Eat rubber, you creep?" She shouted half that as she fired the gun in quick succession. Maybe she had actual experience with a gun because they fired straight and true and looked like they had hurt quite a bit when they hit. Ha! She could handle herself. See? She was ready to survive this island.

[Delta 5 entering and attacking the boss]
Voices. So many voices she could hear up ahead, as well as... what... hooves...? What the hell else were they going to throw at them now...?
Though as soon as the fog cleared she got her answer and couldn't help but feel her stomach knot up with fear just looking at what was in front of them. A huge horse... spewing fire. Lovely. Can't just have normal monsters, oh no. Flaming horses. A plus was that were seems to be more people there that just the Delta group but that did mean that there were was more competition for it as well.'It' being the pendant that she'd managed to catch a glimmer of in it's mane, and if that wasn't going to be difficult to enough to get there were all the others to compete with too. Standing here wasn't going to do anyone any good, so with a bit of a grin, she grabbed the dagger from her back pack and dove into the fray.
"Aww... starting the party without me guys? Though I guess i was fashionably late."

[[ 12 hours passed. D7 still ATTACKING THE BOSS. ]]
Delta Seven was surprised to see Four, Six and Twelve appear out of the fog to also attack the giant horse. Maybe they hadn't been that far away. Or maybe there was something really weird going on when the fog got that thick. In any case, he was surprised to find himself... kind of... happy? ... to see them. At least they were people he knew, and that hadn't stuck a knife in his back the moment they were away from a large group.
He found himself moving closer to them. They might do well to stick together, just in case someone (he eyed the teal group, Theta) decided to attack a few rivals while others were distracted by the fiery pony of doom.
"Good to see no one died already," he grunted at them. "Wanna watch each others' backs?" Just in case. This island was going to do a great job of installing paranoia, assuming D7 hadn't already been that way to begin with.
To the others, he said, "I'm goin' in again." And then he was ducking back in, dodging the flailing front hooves to jam his stake at the beast's lower belly.

{Theta-Ten entering boss fight!}
Theta-Ten had followed everyone from out of the tent-base, holding on her newly acquired weapon. She wasn't entirely sure how to aim the stupid thing. Why had she agreed to this? Had she really? They had told her that she had, had waved 'signed' forms.
But like the person said, how would she even recognize her own name or handwriting? So what if they were lying? Theta-Ten was suspicious.
She took a breath in, the noise sounding funny through the gas mask.
It was all stupid, she decided.
Now there was this horse...thing? (How did she know what it was called?) And it was attacking them, and everyone else was attacking back. It looked like it might have one of these 'pendant' thingies that would help her live. Well, if so, she wanted it.
Awkwardly, she aimed the gun at it and pulled the trigger.
She cursed to herself as it went wild over the things head.

 The thing snorted as the squad members teamed up against it, occasionally stomping its feet angrily, leaving a path of flames wherever it turned. As the last solid hit smacked against it, it gave one last furious shriek, an earsplitting sound that made everyone involuntarily cover their ears, a pressure that pushed everyone to the ground, head ringing-
- and then it was gone, disappearing into tendrils of sickly yellow mist, leaving only patches of black decay behind.
And a single glowing object:
That had to be it, if this were some Role Playing Game, this would be the boss prize loot. It could not have been any more clear or obvious as to it being the pendant mentioned in the cell phone text. They needed one to guarantee their safety.
There was only one slight problem with actually grabbing the pendant. Where the creature had faded away, a thick ring of black smoking decay had risen up in its wake. The ten-foot wide ring of black smoke fully encompassed the pendant. They were not getting to it that simply. (( OOC: THE AFTERMATHPART 1: PENDANT GRAB- ??? HAS BEEN DEFEATED AND HAS LEFT one pendant for squad members to obtain - The problem is the thick black smoke - it is acidic to the touch! That mean anyone who accidentally steps in the area of decay will get parts of their hand/feet/arms/legs/armour corroded! - Roll a twenty-sided dice. The first person to roll a one OR a twenty will obtain the pendant. They must proclaim in BOLD RED in their OOC post that they have obtained the pendant. - If you try and fail, subtract 2 from your HP for corrosion pain. You can try as many times as you still have HP left for (or want to try) - Make sure even during the grab posts that you post your HP values. PART 2: WHO WILL HAVE THE PENDANT?- After the person who grabbed the pendant proclaims such, they MUST stay in the thread for until a GM has announced them winner (ETA 12 hours) following their post before they choose to "flee" (Hiding thread). - If the pendant has been obtained by someone IT IS OPEN PVP. Anyone can attack ANYONE, but make sure your attacker responds before you post again. - Example: I am person A and I choose target B. I cannot attack target B Again until target B has responded. - Example 2: I am person A and my friend is person C, and we attack target B. Both of us cannot respond until target B has responded. - Example 3: I am person A, and my allies, person B, and person C and person D come in, more can come in to attack target B, just not the same people in one turn. - Target B will be docked activity points for evident failure to respond. Please do not be a poor sport and pretend to be "afk" the entire boss fight. We will instantly KO anyone who tries this. - The winner of the pendant can choose to forfeit their pendant. If they opt to "DROP" the prize in between the next 12 hours, simply RP them dropping the pendant towards *choose person here by quoting them* and FLEEING/EXITING the thread. Once again exiting will put you in the HIDING thread. - People are also FREE to exit this thread at any time, but if you are going after the pendant you cannot leave until a gm post has been posted in ETA: 12 hours- The same battle rules apply, make sure to post accordingly thank you and good luck! ))

Delta Seven eyed the glowing pendant, then the unknown other people around him. If he took it, he'd be painting a giant target on his back for the rest of the goddamn week. If he didn't take it, he might not get another chance to nab his free ticket to safety. He mulled it over. He could always grab it now, and pass it on to someone else if it turned into too much of a problem.
He edged closer to the squadmates he knew - Four, Six and Twelve. "One of us should get that," he muttered quietly. "We could work together to make sure none of us became an easy target for the others, and hunt down the rest of them. Give all of us a better shot at being alive on day seven."
D7 hoped they were with him. He didn't want to waste any more time before trying for the pendant. No use working out alliances only to find someone else had picked it up, after all.
He strode forth with a scowl. Trying to avoid touching the hissing black smoke, he made a grab for the pendant.

[Going for the pendant]
Theta 6 watched as the beast vanished leaving behind the pendant and some very menacing looking black smoke that she was none to interested in touchy. She frowned knowing the prize they all wanted to claim was there in the mess and all they had to do was try to snatch it up.
Snatch it up and what, probably be attacked by the other's around who were lacking pendants and willing to kill you to get your's. It seemed like a lose lose situation, but having the pendant was the better option, in the event the others did not try to kill you.
Theta 6 steeled her nerves and tried to stop thinking, to stop wandering, evaluting and to just go for it. Hunching her shoulder she headed for the black gunk to try to have a swipe at the pendant.

As the beast disappeared into clouds of thick black smoke, D6 lunged forward towards the falling pendant before she could think. Immediately she felt a burn traveling up her outstretched arm, and she pulled back before taking hold of the pendant. The smoke was corrosive- it had scorched through the thinner armor on her forearm, leaving a burn mark. She backed away warily.
