Three was being reasonably smart about this whole business. Why did the smart one have to be gratingly annoying? "We probably shouldn't hang out in the open," One said, jerking his head towards the other tent. If someone came out of it and spotted them, things could get ugly. "Might be a good idea to split up and check the area in both directions, then regroup to exchange information."
That gave him an idea, actually. "Three, who do you want with you? I'll take a group this direction." He jerked a thumb over his shoulder. "Fifteen minutes for a quick survey, then back to the tent?" Did he have a watch or anything? He pulled the cell phone back out - maybe it had a clock. Didn't look like it. He sighed. "We'll have to estimate."
... Seven clearly had priorities, and Seven's priorities were going to piss Five off. One gritted his teeth briefly. "We may have to split up," he said to Seven. "I'd appreciate your help." He'd try the more subtle approach first, and hope that Three would lend a hand with separating one of the girls from Seven's high-handed approach.

Fiver grinned when someone sauntered over claiming to be a 'babe' and then posed in front of him. Well, that was kinda promising! Not that anything could really happen with these stupid gas masks on, tch.
... And then Leeroy promptly stole her away from him. Dammit! ... Though admittedly, Three was probably right. They should scout or something. Mind on business. Maybe.
Stealing another glance or two at Babe (as he had so dubbed Two), he forced down the instinct to fight over her (FOR NOW), and scooted over closer to Three. "I'll go with Three, cause I think we'd make a good team!" he chirped, smacking his mace into his palm again. "And I'm pretty sure we can both defend ourselves~"

No way was Eight going to find himself saddled up with the circus. If they were all going to go and survey, then he wanted the most level-headed, cautious, and most importantly, quiet group. Trying to hold back any sign of desperation or sense of urgency, he volunteered for A1's group.
"I'll go with A1. How many should go into groups and who should stay and protect the others in the tent? Or do you guys even care if the others in the tent are protected? We should probably gauge loyalties at some point. Just to get that out of the way and all."
He needed to know everyone's worth at this point. He needed a meat shield or two, but at the end of this, he needed to come out on top. Not like he wanted to carry a bunch of dead weight around.

Three arched a brow beneath his mask, listening to One, he turned his gaze that way. "Sounds reasonable..." Though splitting up was hardly something to look forward to, but so long as nothing too dire and serious befell them...which this early out, he could only hope, they'd likely survive for a grand total of fifteen minutes. Most of them, anyway.
Oh, and of course Five was volunteering. Well, he was moderately preferable to Seven...who seemed a tad more interested in the ladies than surviving. All right, well if he gathered One's intent, it was to keep Seven from his titty-monopoly. Ech. How very base of Seven...a typical thick-headed male more keen on thinking with his nether regions. "Twelve. Why don't you come with us." He suggested, in a tone that was less a suggestion and more an order. She seemed the type who would follow, and she, at the very least, was a lady.
He couldn't say as much for Two.
Annoyed that Eight had gone with One, he then turned to Five in order to busy himself. "So long as you stay close and we do this quickly, we should be all right." So everyone had best listen to his orders. It seemed as though he and One were the only ones with a real lick of sense in this squad...barring Eight, who was nigh-on unnerving.
Great. Just great.

[αIX entering the area]
Nine exited the tent and paused. The girl with the number two on her uniform was contorting herself into various 'sexy' poses for their other team members further down the beach. "That might work better without the clunky suit and gasmask." Nine paused for a moment, "Unless youre doing some sort of fetish thing, in which case um, have fun?" She politely stepped around Two and walked further down the beach to her other team members.
As she approached, she heard Seven talking something about sending a scout out. "Scout out where?" She asked looking around. Nine then noticed the tent further down the beach. "Oh you mean them? Why? Wouldn't it be easier to just go talk to them rather than sneaking around? They might not like that."
Nine smiled at Seven, realizing belatedly that the other person wouldn't see it with the mask on so she also patted his shoulder. She then moved on to the rest of the group.

"Fetish thing? Like, ew," Two complained in Nine's direction. "What are you, some kinda pervert?"
Of course, the most likely pervert was the one still holding her, but she didn't seem to care about that. "I bet, like, that we could guard the tent," she added, tapping Seven on the pec. Oontz.

It wasn't as if Twelve had a particular affection for Seven. Perhaps, she felt a sense of friendliness towards him for taking her into consideration. But ... Well, she wasn't sure she liked being under the opposite arm of Two.
How could one pose sexily in this get-up?
What kind of number was two? Obviously, a lower one. Twelve ducked under Seven's grip, still holding her pack to her chest, as she stepped a few feet away. "Splitting up it is. I-I can help." She volunteered, holding up a shaky hand.
She tipped head, in the first assertive gesture she had done all day.
"Sorry Seven, I'm exclusive."
Two, you had an uphill battle if Seven managed to grab every girl around. An extremely uphill battle.
"Y-Yes, Three!" She ran forward to join his grup, eyes widening. She'd try her best to be useful! With .. a frying-pan-stick-thingy.

"You saw the message on your phone, Nine?" One asked, trying for patience. "Thirteen survivors. If all of us in Alpha make it, that's only one other survivor. If the other groups are the same size, they're figuring the same thing. So whoever's in that tent, if there's anyone in there, is probably going to look at us and see the enemy. So it's probably not a good idea to walk up and ask them if they're having a nice day." If a little sarcasm crept into his tone towards the end, he figured he could be forgiven for it. "I'd rather keep everyone in our group alive if we can swing it. At least we're not likely to attack our own teammates on sight."
He could feel a headache coming on. Maybe it was the gas mask, or maybe it was just the stupid. "Seven, Two, we need to be sharp and alert out here. Would you rather guard the tent, or can you stay focused?"

Ouch, burned. A7 felt the cold sting of abandonment as A12 left him, with a saucy comment no less. Though she couldn't see him, he grinned deviously. "My loss, I'm sure." He quipped in reply, and then looked down at A9 as she patted his shoulder. A replacement already? She even had that same fetish idea.. "You know, I swear I saw a movie like that, once." A7 nodded firmly.
He watched the group branch off, a little disappointed that A1 seemed to be leaving without him. He always did like sticking close to his team leader, after all. It even took priority over girls. But, if he wasn't wanted, well.. no sense in bitching about it.
"Probably a good idea, Babe." Fiver sure did hand out some nice nicknames. "Someone's gotta stay and guard the tent. We're obviously suited for the position."
Yes, leave the two of them alone. In a tent. That sounded like a brilliant idea.

Nine turned at Two's outraged calls, "Not any more than anyone else." she called back, shrugging. She paused and added, "But it's okay if that's your thing, really. I'm not judging you or anything."
One was talking to her. "Yes, I suppose, but it still doesn't mean that we have to battle everyone on sight like, I dunno... angry weasels or something. We could form a temporary alliance and backstab them later!" Nine beamed at her idea.
Oh well. Nine still thought it was silly to be sneaking about in the fog but if One and Three just wanted to play at war games for a while that was fine. She could understand that sometimes you just wanted to go sneaking around all sneakily. "Well, you're the boss, One. Can I join one of your teams too?"

Ugh, One was such a loser. Who had made him One, anyway? She rolled her eyes in his direction again and saluted him with a highly inexpert flourish. "Like, whatever." Looooooooooser, she thought, but did not say, instead choosing to nestle cozily under Seven's arm.
Nine... was just another nerd. Lame.

[Z4, entering the area, coming from the Zeta Base-camp]The seemingly-orange soldier was still whistling nervously as his pace slowed when he realized he was the first to step first out of the tent. Well... well... SOMEONE had to go first, right? And why not him? There wasn't going to be anything out there, it was just fog and sand. Keep your spirits up and your mace ready, and he'll be back for some nice fog-chill-fighting tea in just a few minutes. And the others would be on his tail, right? Right. Excellent. Straightening, he boldly tromped forward a few steps in the murk. And then a few more a bit more hesitantly. The tent was starting to go white in the mist. Well... just... hmm. Carefully, he crouched to push a few seashells and water-softened sticks into an arrow pointing to his tent. There, now they wouldn't have to worry about getting lost in the fog. Still, it seemed, he had no idea he wasn't alone.

"I wouldn't worry too much One. I don't doubt their focus, in fact, they may have a clearer goal than any of us. Though, if they do get ambushed, it's not like we lost the gold medal or anything. Probably wouldn't even consider them the bronze. Aluminum, maybe? Whatever. Everyone who is going to go on this little scouting mission please remember to be quiet, if not invisible because I'm saving these bandages for emergencies and none of you really qualify as an emergency."
Eight then paused and examined the female alpha member that approached the surveying group. She seemed to be on par with Twelve in terms of use and certainly more worthwhile than Two.
"Go with whomever you like, but remember not to just go up to enemies and say hi or I'll treat you like an enemy or better yet, bait! Ready everyone?"
He then patted One on the shoulder and leaned in to whisper to him.
"I may bandage you up though. Not sure, but you are you pretty close to a priority for me!"
He was so sweet it was sickening.

Two looked up.
"Omigawd omigawd omigawd guys there's an orange dude!" she shrieked, flailing at Seven's side.
Then she threw the nunchucks in the stranger's direction. They fell impotently into the sand.
Well. That was useful.

Nine blinked at Two's outburst. Yep, there was an orange dude, strolling along the beach. He was alone and he looked harmless. "Hi!" she called out to him. "Are you lost? What team did you come from?"
