"One sec, I've got the coordinates." Hayes fished for something in his pocket. The agent's sandy bangs fell into his eyes as he looked away, obscuring the slight frown that twisting movement brought. Finding his Rocketdex, he tapped it out of sleep mode and browsed through files with quick touches and brushes of the screen.
"Here." His easy smile was back when he offered the slim device to Faleen. A holographic display sprang up as he did so - a map of Kodo, gridlined and extruded into a 3-dimensional projection. A white dot blinked south of the central mountain range.
"" Binary replied as breezily as she could. ""

She watched when he reached into his pocket to get something, tilting her head slightly when his head bowed slightly and turned away. He had returned though, with his Rocketdex, arching her eyebrows in curiosity as she watched him shift though the settings. "You have a guidance system on your dex?" she asked with a surprised tone of. "That's not standard." she noted, glancing over the map presented before she narrowed her eyes softly at the aria the dot was blinking. "Thats it than... it would be pretty hidden within that aria..." Perhaps the chances of it being there were slightly higher now.
He replied, lowering his ears back a little more He frowned softly at her.

Okay, so movement hurt, more than he'd like to admit. But if Seth's roar of 'If I can work with cracked ribs, so can you!' this morning hadn't been enough, there were other reasons to endure the discomfort.
"Huh? Oh, yeah, it's got GPS," Hayes half-laughed. His sheepishness was quickly overtaken by enthusiasm. "And GIS - it'll calculate distance and track routes for you and stuff." The blond grinned slightly, catching Faleen's gaze for a moment. "You can play around with it if you want." His hand remained outstretched, offering the device to her.
"" Binary's ears lowered in response, and her posture changed slightly at the frown. "" A pause. ""

Oh how her demeanor changed when he offered to let her play with his toy, perking up, and reaching out with both hands to accept the offer respectfully. "Oh, yes, thank you." What handling someone else's tech, it was important to use extra care. She turned it toward her though, fingers sliding over the settings as she observed the new functions, these were not standard, a steady grin spreading along her lips the longer she looked though it "I wasn't aware the Dex could be modified, where did you get the program?"
Here Umbreon remained quiet for a while, staring at her seriously, but taking longer than normal to answer her question...

There was a bar hovering at the bottom of the screen that became a menu when her fingers traced over it, offering 'New Route,' 'Saved Routes,' and 'Distance' among other things. Hayes sat back and watched her explore the various options in the menu, his own smile growing to match hers. She liked it.
"If you want a copy-" he was saying when she asked where the program came from. "Oh." The agent reached for his hair with a boyish, self-effacing grin, pausing before he said, "It's mine."
Binary tilted her head and gave the other Umbreon a long look. "" she repeated, uncomprehending and puzzled, adding, ""

Hazel eyes pried themselves away from testing out the different functions of the programs when her question was answered, looking over at her fellow agent. "I should have assumed that." she said with a small smile in response to his answer. "This seems like quite a detailed software, how long does a project like this time to complete?"
She looked back down at the dex, the black fingers of her gray gloves sliding over the surface to the aria the destroyed mech was last reported being seen, according to Hayes. Eyes darted over the map, letting her finger drift slowly, mapping out the ideal vehicle rout. "hum..."
Again Umbreon didn't answer at first, another frown crossing his features as he quirked a brow.

"Heh." The agent ducked his head at the indirect praise, then looked up. "Uh." He frowned, mouth slightly open, while he considered this - then laughed. "Y'know, I couldn't tell you? It all depends."
Hayes flexed his hand in an ersatz shrug. "If it was a real project, then.. less time than the deadline? More and you're pulling all nighters and they sort of.. blur." He worked to the job, not the clock. "I just fiddle with this one when I've got time. It's pretty much debugged. Had it.. a year. Wow." The blond blinked.

Eyes shifted up from the dex, to look over at Hayes as he spoke, a knowing smile spreading over her face. It was easy for techs, programmers and engineers to lose themselves in their work, especially when they loved what they did. "I can relate to that quite easily." She added, making sure to carefully close out the app before handing the dex back over to its owner. "I suppose its not surprising that programing wouldn't be much different from robotics in that aspect." Robots did need programs to be able to work the way the maker intended after all. "The two eventually inter-lay somewhere in the construction process." Sliding her chair back a little, enough to give her room to stand up, she moved over to face the table that had the G-ball on it, looking over the parts before sliding her hand out to quickly tap in commands onto the consul, before looking back over to Hayes, hesitating for only a moment before speaking again. "In reply to your earlier offer, I would actually be interested in a copy, if you wouldn't mind, that would prove to be incredibly useful." At this Umbreon curled a lip slightly, glancing away When she put it that way, it did sound like babysitting. He snorted lowering himself back down onto his elbows and settling comfortably again.

"Yeah?" Hayes grinned, feeling his ribs protest as he took the dex back, noting the care with which she'd treated it. "That sounds about right. You build the body and code the brain but if one's missing you've just got a program or a chassis. It's when you put 'em together you get the robot." The blond set the 'dex aside and let the chair support his weight while he watched the screens, eyes flicking back and forth between the monitors behind his glasses. When Faleen spoke, the smile appeared on his face again. So formal. Like she was writing an e-mail. "Sure," he laughed, not unkindly. "It'd help me out too - I need beta testing. I'll put it on a thumb drive." Binary drew her front paws together and looked down at the reclining Umbreon, ears slightly back. " " she said, sounding a bit off-put, "bad thing. It's harder than it looks.>" She looked aside. ""

She adored it when people understood, so when he continued on her line of thought about the body and mind of a robot, in a way that a true tech did, she couldn't help but feel appreciative. She didn't know programing, but it was as important to her precious robots as building the body.
Straightening back up, after typing in a few more codes into the consul, seeming to start up a scan that ran slowly over the partly disassembled G-ball. "I wouldn't mind beta testing it at all, and here, I actually have a thumb drive you can use" This way he wouldn't have to use one of his. She stepped away from the table, reaching into the pouch at her belt and pulling out a black USB stick. She stared at it for a second, turned it over and slid it into her palm "Ah, That one has Porygon," She went back into her pouch, and pulled out another. "Here we are." This one she handed over to him, as she took her seat again.
His red eyes shifted upward at her, a brow cocking as he studied her for another moment. <... there isn't much to do while they work. and apparently its something important so we can't get to close...>

"Awesome," Hayes grinned - no, smiled - and watched Faleen for a moment as she moved away, though after that moment his eyes strayed to the G-ball and the monitors again. Huh.. The tech narrowed his eyes as the displays, a faint frown of concentration appearing until he caught the other agent's offhand comment. "You got a Porygon?" he asked, interest piqued as he accepted the USB stick, which was small enough that their gloves brushed. "Seth give you one of his?" " " Binary tilted her head upward, ears flopping back as she studied the humans. ""

She didn't at all miss his look to the monitors, She couldn't blame him, any Rocket on this level would be interested to get close look at this thing, a perplexing new device just waiting for its secrets to be unlocked. Hayes was assigned here to help Faleen work on it after all, but at the moment anyway, the computer was working on compiling scans of the new layer, so she didn't feel to bad about continuing this conversation a little longer.
"It was, in fact, when I was promoted." She replied, Her fingers, for a brief second felt something softer than the cool metal casing of the memory storage device. The sleek stick was passed to him, both sides being careful not to drop it. Her hand pulled back after, rubbing the black gloved fingers at her neck a couple of times with a short pointed stare to her Porygon's USB nestled her other hand, before turning back to look at Hayes. Polite puzzlement crossing her features as she further inquired: "This implies he has others? I didn't know that." Faleen didn't really know where he had gotten the one she has now, or why, she hadn't seen the Elite with any Porygon in the past.
While moving to once again take her seat, she reached to the strap holding her line of Pokeball and Dusk ball. Mostly paying attention to Hayes, and his reply, she casually pulled one of the Pokeball free as she fiddled to swivel the plug for Porygon's USB, at the same time enlarging the pokeball flicking a cap from its red surface, reveling a USB port built into the pokeball.
At this Umbreon's eyes flicked over to the two humans. he agreed, one ear sliding up a little. He supposed thats how they were, even when they were doing work. they always talked about things he didn't understand.

Huh - had he shocked her? He hadn't felt a static zap and the gloves made it unlikely anyway, but..
Right.. she'd said that thing way back when, hadn't she.
Right.
Well, that wasn't anything to worry about, though it wasn't the first time someone had gotten the wrong idea. Hopefully she wouldn't get the wrong idea again.
On the outside, Hayes just shrugged and smiled. "Yeah - there were three, I think, and an Eevee? I've got one. They were bouncing all over his office." It ended on a half-laugh; the agent knew exactly why he'd gotten one, and it was for walking by at the wrong moment. He uncapped the USB stick and pluged it into his 'dex, breaking eye contact to work through the menus that would transfer and copy the app. "How's yours working out?"
"" This was something she didn't know - there were a lot of things she didn't know, and it made her look quite young (which she was.) Binary looked over at Umbreon, head tilted curiously. ""

"Oh, Were they from the labs or something?" She glanced up from what she was doing, plugging the USB into her pokeball, as she did this the white dot blinked to life. She couldn't... really imagine why Seth would have a small group of baby pokemon, especially ones he clearly did not like.
She watched as he worked with his Dex, settling back into the seat a little. "Uh... its making progress, I've never used one before, and it seems very young. Though I know that they are capable of doing some pretty incredible things with machines, and computers."
There was a light 'Dong' from her pokeball, followed by the light going out, and Faleen pulled the USB out of the pokeball, returning the stick to her pouch. "You got one as well." She brought that up again, stating the fact he already presented "Do you use it much?"
he said, glancing around the room to indicate mechanics or robotics or something. he didn't understand this stuff.

"I dunno." Hayes tapped the screen. A 'Copying..' dialogue box popped up and a progress bar began to fill. "Don't think he really wanted to talk about it." In truth, Seth's bellow of rage had read to his right hand man's finely tuned ear as #37, Concealing Embarrassment.
The agent balanced the 'dex in one hand and looked up. "I haven't done a lot with mine. Still training it - I'm pretty sure they're just babies," he said, then grinned. "It'll be pretty awesome, though - there was this demo at the science center in Camphoreon.. man.. what, fifteen years ago? Heh." He glanced down at the device in his hand, then made eye contact again. "Anyway, it had all the specs on Porygon when it first came out and it was amazing. Silph released an upgrade a while later that improved on it, but it's the basic functionality that makes them great - it's just so solid."
