"I s'pose. Can' imagine no one'd want 'em though." Ah well. Pokemon were rare in his homeland, and any that could be caught were prized. He still wasn't quite used to things here, though he pretended to be. In a criminal organization it was better not to stick out. Unless you had a lot of power backing you up. "I remember bein' in a lot of pain...No' much else. Probably for th'best, aye?"
He listened with interest to Mau's list. It was quite impressive. Ghost, water, electric, flying, and grass all were represented. "Potted plant, huh? Eh, I dunno. Last potted plant I went up against..." He gestured to his bandaged torso. "Y'never know, hmm? As fer me, I've got Deine thar, an' Ladir, a Jigglypuff. Fights with Deine all th'bloody time. An' Fiain. Who's a pikachu wi' an odd sorta likin' fer balloons. Insists on havin' enough to keep'im airborn tied on 'im all th'time." Which reminded him. He'd need to have more on hand the next time he let Fiain out of his pokeball to replace the popped ones. The mouse'd throw a fit otherwise, and mope for days.
"Drif? Driffffblim! Bliiiiim!" Deine imitated popping out from behind something. That was always a good laugh. A nurse who'd been passing through shushed her, and she glared down at the human. What was wrong with pokemon talking? Both their trainers were talking just as loudly!

"Probably best you don't remember it." He affirmed. "Ya see, never under estimate the power of a plant." Though he didn't want to admit it, for as much as he hated that stupid galactic's hedgehog... he wanted one. His affinity to grass types drew him to want to have a shaymin, even if they did blow up in your face. Often.
"Balloons? That's interesting." He thought he'd caught a glimpse of that on the raid. "Strange little one, but each have their own personality." Like people, it seemed pokemon all had their own, very defined personalities. What was so different from a pikachu with a balloon obsession and a drifblim with an... erotic attraction to cake? Though thinking about Newton, Mau had to stop himself from facepalming
Nuu laughed, rolling over once with her blimy giggles. That was fun. You didn't even have to pop out from someplace. You could just harmlessly be following along and they turn around and you make faces! Squish your lips together like a magikarp and wiggle your arms. It was a party! Sometimes the people would throw their arms high and join you. But then they screamed and ran away.

"Och, I can tell ya, tha's one mistake I won' be makin' again!" His reply was strong enough to make him cough, and he smiled sardonically at himself. "Figure even if I did forget, tha'd remind me, eh?" He couldn't wait to be well again. Laying around was (very comfortable, and felt good) boring, and not very productive. And he felt like whatever painkillers he'd had had muddled him a bit. Usually he wasn't half so talkative. Ah well. Mau seemed like a right enough guy.
"Hmm? Ah, yeah." He shrugged painfully. "Somehow 'e manages it. As a joke I offered to teach 'im Fly...wee rat bloody well learned it too. Funny 'iw tha' works. Pokemon sets its mind t'sommat, and y'can bet they'll find a way t'do it." He glanced up from staring into space and noticed Mau's expression. "...Y'look like y'ate sommat awful wi'tha' face."
Nuu's enthusiasm was contagious, and Deine joined in with the spinning and arm-flailing. That was the best part, when they screamed and ran! Sometimes they even fell down while running! People were so funny. She was glad she couldn't trip. Probably because she had legs. But what about pokemon? Had Nuu ever tried to scare them too? She'd tried it once with Repo's pikachu...it'd made funny faces, like a human, but then got mad and tried to shock her!

Mau stifled a faint laugh. "Ah yeah..." He thought a moment on how to explain this. "Nuu's father, Newton, the drifblim, has strange habits with food... Sweets in particular. I'd recommend not eating any cake unless you know exactly when it was made and who's had access to it. Trust me on this." It was kind of gross if he were to be honest. But if he were being honest, he'd also admit to it being completely hilarious.
"It's true though." He said, thinking about the man's pikachu. "If they really want something, or want to learn something, they darn well will." His mind flickered back to the research he'd been doing before being transferred to Kodo. "..." His face became slightly pensive, but only for a moment. It was time for a different subject.
"How long are the Ammut-women keeping you here?"
Oh yes, Nuu had indeed tried that! Though Ire was not the best pokemon to have tried it on. The skittish Jolteon hadn't reacted with fright like she should have. No. Instead Nuu got thunder fang'd, and that hurt something fierce. She would try it on the chimecho she shared space with, but to be perfectly honest, as far as pokemon went, that thing scared her.

"Really? Tha's...no offense, but tha' just weird." He wondered what'd make a pokemon want to be...intimate...with a pastry. He shuddered (ow) and did his best not to think about it. Or that one of the bowls he'd been brought was filled with what could only be cake. Yes...he'd certainly be having that one taken away once his guests were out of the area.
"Mmm..." He had never been uncomfortable with silence. It felt good to rest his lungs a moment too. He knew ribs were painful in healing, so a moment of pure painless rest should be savored. Oh, but now he needed to talk again. Well that was short-lived. He gave a gentle tug on the tub feeding out of his chest. "Maybe a week, at most. Bloody well hope not though. Ceilin's borin' t'stare at, aye? Few days for m'lung...an' after tha' I'm s'posed t'relax or sommat. No' be active." He grunted. Not looking forward to that at all. Sitting around was just...boring. And not very productive.
Deine made a point to scare Ladir all she could. The jigglypuff seemed not to like her...something about wanting to be Repo's favorite. As far as she was concerned, they all had a place on his team, and the puff's whining just aggravated her. Did Nuu get along with many of her teammates?

"It's a very weird pokemon... trust me. Only reason he tolerates me is cause I bring him grape jelly, which seems to be his favorite food." Had Mau known the man's thoughts on the now questionable cake that was brought for him, he would not have blamed him for having it thrown away. He might have offered to do it himself actually. But then, he had a low opinion of anything that came from the cafeteria. So even without the possibility that Newton might have humped this cake, he still would have suggested it be tossed.
"I'm surprised they didn't give ya a room with TV. Tough break." At least Mau had a TV in his room... even if he couldn't reach the remote half the time because of his broken shoulder, and Nyx had arranged it so if he asked for the remote, he got pudding. He still had to get back at her for that. "Least you can be entertained if Nuu comes to see you and Deine. Watch them a while. What department are you in anyways? Or... do you have one? If you worked in the tech department, I could still see them giving you small things to do while laid up. And the Lab would probably have paperwork for you. ... Actually, the lab would without a doubt have paperwork for you. There's always paperwork for the labs to get done." He laughed a little, though it was strained. "When I was laid up a couple weeks I spent almost the same amount of time just catching up on the things I missed." He waved a hand at that dismissively.
Nuu got along amazingly with Aki. But that was her mama... papa. But Aki was still fun and would play with her whenever she wanted. She never played with Ran though. Ire was the stick in the mud. Always so important with tending to Mau's berry plants. Mai was no fun. She liked sleeping all the time and didn't move much unless Mau made her. Uta actually frightened her. and now there was that new pink and yellow thing that hatched from the yellow egg. Que was cute, but didn't play much. He was still too tiny, and he kept shocking her. Pichu didn't control their electricity too well.

He shrugged at the idea of having a TV, and winced at the dull pain of the shrugging. "Don' especially mind. I've send Fiain t'get some books. Rather read, if I've got t'stay put." Reading was a good way to whittle away the hours, and better than TV. "Happy t'make up m'own pictures," He gingerly tapped his temple. "Fer stories an' th'like. Watchin' them's fine too though." He glanced up at the balloons. They were still cavorting in the rafters. "Figure it's about as close as anyone in this place'd get to a get-well-soon balloon, aye?" He chuckled, then scowled. Damn ribs. This wasn't going to be fun, getting better.
"D'partment? Hn." He grunted. "M'just a grunt. Gooda' stealin' things, if nothin' else. Canna say I've got th'ead for lab work." Or the patience. He liked to be up, moving, doing. Not sitting at some desk doing little experiments for who knew how many hours at a go. Of course, every job had to be done, he was just glad there was someone else for that one. "I don' think I'd be of much help with annathin' really thick, but if there's extra paperwork needin' a one over from someone who knows next t'nothin' about sciences, you send it my way. Might as well do som'in productive while th'harpies got me under lock'n key."
Ew, yes. Deine wasn't a fan of electric types. She was part flying type after all. Sure, her 'mother' was a pikachu, and Repo had one as well, but those were different. One was blood (sort of) and the other was doing its best to emulate a flying pokemon, and understood why she didn't like being shocked. But it sounded like this Que was still young. There was time to learn.

Well, that was certainly true. Not that Mau owned many books anymore. He'd left most of them back at his old post. Though aside from when he was recovering from injuries, he didn't have much time to read them. "True." He relented. Though sometimes reading an article on the latest scientific breakthrough wasn't nearly as informative as a documentary. But, not everyone felt the same. Oh well. Hearing Nuu's voice, Mau also looked up. "Hm... I wouldn't have thought of it that way, but I suppose you're right. Colorful things, aren't they?"
When the man said he wasn't in a specific department, Nau nodded. Not that it was a bad thing. They made use of generalists. And those who could specialize in stealing or battling would be useful on missions. ... Baring any exploding hedgehogs. "Well, nothing wrong with that. We need generalists as much as specialists." He scratched the back of his head for a moment. "I think I'll probably pass on handing you any lab work... Unless you know some of the finer points of Pokemon brain alterations."
Yeah, electric types were such a pain to deal with. Nuu had yet to meet an electric type that she liked. They were too zappy. She also didn't like dark pokemon much. They seemed stuck up and were just scary in general. It was fun to try and torment normal types because typically they couldn't do anything to her.
