She just listened with an amused smile as the duo of them walked away, peering around at the surrounding area as they did so. She did not want to miss details as she walked to the ice cream store...
"Yes it can be an ice cream cookie... but Schee remember we are also looking for clues, so it might be best to.......'try', and pay attention as well." Fat chance, she really had a feeling it would be her being the eyes in this situation. At least schee could keep a look out for any random weird power signatures.
Faya darted into the convenience store and popped out a minute or two later with the ice cream, and tossed it into the air towards the captain.

Quail seemed interested in the bit about footprints. Zink could likely feel the small bird as it waddled around in his hair, peering this way and that.
"The footprint traffic, what did it look like?"
Zink suddenly got an eye full of quail as the bird leaned over his head and stared him in the eye.
"Was it a total mess, like a scuffle? Or was there perhaps a pattern hidden underneath, some sort of tale to tell you just how tricky your opposition really is?"
Often enigmatic, the guardian let that idea linger and pulled himself back up to survey the area from Zink's head once more. Maybe...just maybe... Safety usually came in numbers, but if one had something planned out then maybe the foot traffic would show another story. One that could offer insight as to why they hadn't located much of anything just yet.
Back with Faya, Scheelite eagerly snagged the ice cream cookied and gave a "THANKS!" to the other officer. Hell. Yes. Cookie sandwich time, this was awesome! Attention back on the plan at large (though now aided by delicious cookie), the blonde walked with Faya and glanced around.
"We'll find them. We gotta."
A quick and easy statement, but it held so much meaning in this situation.

"Hard to say... by the time I got here too many civilians had been through for me to get a clear picture, I found only a few High heel prints, but I'm not surprised to be honest." He sighed and shook his head.
"I'm just tired of failing, I can't fail them... WE can't..." His words held the assurance as much for himself as for his 'team'. Make sure they believed, make sure they had faith... but he'd have to prepare them too because honestly...
quite honestly...
He expected to fail.
