When I see it, I will probably look away, cover my eyes and ears. and be all giddy. I hate my way of showing excitement.

Adrian Tyndall dragon_1212xp Adrian Tyndall dragon_1212xp Adrian Tyndall We can only hope for a redub. And hopefully Usagi's voice won't sound like nails on a chalkboard. And they'll go ahead and dub Stars. (unlikely) I think we have a chance if we pull Adult Swim into the equation. It's possible, but they'd have to get rid of something insignificant. Maybe Bleach wink Or something equally as insignificant like InuYasha XD And hopefully it won't be a horrible remake like Dragon Ball Z Kai is. BUT I LOVE DBZ KAI! ....Except they got the "IT'S OVER 9000!!!" scene wrong >w

I wouldn't hold out your hopes too much for Sailor Moon coming onto Adult Swim. Even if it was redone and redubbed awesome and stuff, the fact remains that it still caters to a smaller, more specific crowd. Anime like Cowboy Bebop, Big O, Ghost in the Shell, those are all older series often considered to be classics. Sailor Moon falls into that category as well, but caters to a much smaller audience; specifically, people fond of magical girls. Some of those other shows, while not necessarily having more fans, have a wider range of people that they can be geared towards. It would be awesome if Sailor Moon did get put on tv, but just getting redone/finished in the first place is enough for me.
Hell, just having the books rereleased is awesome. One step at a time! heart

One step at a time! heart Of course we're all happy about the manga release, but I meant Sailor Moon Sailor Stars should go on Adult Swim. 1-4 is passable enough for daytime TV but Starts got just a bit more adult. They've moved animes from Day-to-Night programming before and that's more or less what I was referring to. Sorry if that was confusing. sweatdrop

I wasn't confused, and I also wasn't saying anything about whether or not a redub of Sailor Moon would be more adult than the original. I said that Sailor Moon caters to a smaller audience's tastes than some of the other types of anime that are currently on Adult Swim, and that it might not be a show that they consider putting on Adult Swim for that reason. Whether a new dub is more "adult" or not has nothing to do with what I was saying, and we don't even know that there is going to be a redub in the first place.

Hmm, I'd have to disagree, Sailor Moon has a WIDE audience, it's one of the most popular animes of all time, if not THE most (that's debatable, but I'd definitely consider it a contender). At this point it's only speculation for a new dub, as I was saying before I think we have a shot of getting Stars to release in America if we take into consideration of a more adult programming, like Adult Swim. AS has had a very wide range of shows on it, all way way from lighthearted parodies to hardcore action shows. I think SM wouldn't be that much of a jump. Sailor Moon also was on Toonami (as I very fondly remember~) and so has a history with Cartoon Network. Of course at this point it's all speculation and fun. Manga and anime do tend to be released close together after all. Considering Kodansha has the rights, on top of having it's roots directly in Japan AND that they've already gone and re-translated this release of the manga, I feel we're closer then ever to the wonderful Stars arc of the SM anime~! Where would that go? I would think AS, whether you agree or not is up to you, I'm only guesstimating here. However, I'm interested, where do you think SM would go? Do you think it would be confined to the Funimation Channel or Anime Network or something along those lines?

@Dragon: Hey, don't you diss my Inu Yasha!! XP
I don't have cable, so unless they want Sailor Moon on ABC late at night or something... XP
Well, to tell the truth, I wouldn't mind so much if they'd skip TV and go straight to DVD. I hate watching anime on TV because of the comercials, and the fact that for them to air on American TV they still have to do *some* minor editing, even if it's just the length of the opening theme, or speeding up the episode by two or three minutes.
Plus the fact that TV advertisements are getting WWAAAAAYYYY out of hand! Ever seen those ads, directly laid OVER the program you're watching, of something like Dancing With the Stars, where you see a couple of people dancing ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE BOTTOM OF YOUR SCREEN, taking up about one-third of the space on the screen? All just to say this TV show is coming up next, which properly belongs IN THE COMMERCIAL BREAKS WHICH WERE INVENTED FOR SPECIFICALLY THAT REASON? I have found NO television channel, local or cable, which is immune to that. I have even quit watching TV altogether now, except for the incredibly rare instances that I watch either the news or America's Funniest Home Videos.
I just don't want to see that happen to Sailor Moon. -_-;

I'm always annoyed by the logos too >_> but it would be fun to watch again for nostalgia's sake. If there's a TV release for something this popular, I'd expect a DVD release to come shortly after. I would give you some of my cable if I could but I can't ^-^''' so sorry.

dragon_1212xp However, I'm interested, where do you think SM would go? Do you think it would be confined to the Funimation Channel or Anime Network or something along those lines? If it were to be redubbed, I think it would go straight to DVD, as the vast majority of anime does. Not all anime makes it to tv, popular or not. Also, I know that this is a Sailor Moon guild and as such most of us are biased towards loving the show. However, unfortunately, it is not the most popular anime of all time. Check out some online polls like this one here, and sometimes it doesn't even make the top ten. It's a great show and a potential redub might even change it's rankings, but that's all up to if it's done, who does it, and how good of a job they do.

Well I feel with super popular anime, Bleach, Naruto, DragonBall, and so on all wind up on TV, why not Sailor Moon? Besides, some less popular anime ends up on Funimation, Anime Network, On Demand, and etc. I don't think it would get the straight-to-DVD treatment because it's a well known title that people would honestly watch. I hope it does come out on DVD, but if DBZ Kai gets a large amount of screen time on Nicktoons I think SM definetly at least has a shot to get on TV too. That's why I said Quote: (that's debatable, but I'd definitely consider it a contender) because the "best" is subjective. However, it is immensely popular, I feel if we're going as far as MTV and the Los Angeles Times covering this it's obviously big news and will most likely be treated and cashed in as such. of course anime taste in America is different from anime taste in Japan. Besides, the list on Anime new Network says the anime in question was chosen by vote on their site which also included movies which I think are very different from series. (And includes God awful works like FLCL and smut like Elfen Leid so that makes it even less trustworthy in my book, I apologize to fans but imo they were bad.)
