He takes a lot of his social cues from his friends, and he does work to impress them, by taking his social cues from them, and leeching on to their humor and some of the things they show an interest in. Basically he has some really shallow friendships, but it does allow him to show a more enthusiastic side of himself.

Not to be a pain but then is it really a virtue? Would people look up to him for having shallow friendships and being somewhat fake to earn them?

I'm not trying to be a pain in the butt here but it just made me think.

Assuming that the 30 seconds and 90 seconds you mention in your Squire/Knight magics are his total pool of energy, this looks great!
