Varia supposed that survival could drive a wolf to learn to fight like that, but it as rare indeed to meet such a skill fighter who learned over nothing more than survival alone. That proved this one to be a true warrior - and that thought made her almost smile.

"Tell me your name." Now was the time to exchange such information, now that this wolf had been deemed worthy of knowing such of herself as well as sharing her own info with Varia. After a moment Varia decided to ask another question, for really this would make a huge impact on her decision and weather it had been a sound one. "What do you think of males?" It might have sounded like an odd question but if this female, as fierce as she was, was a male lover then they would have a serious problem.

"As for what use I have for you, to put it simply I come from a warrior pack that is in need of skilled fighters like yourself." More like a desperate need but there was no need to say such things when Varia wasn't entirely sure if she trusted this female or if she would even consider joining the pack. "You can give your fighting skills a purpose or you can waste them on merely surviving. The choice is yours."

"Lungaia," she said, and trusted that the other wolf would give a name if it suited her. Lungaia didn't care either way -- she had learned long ago that names were largely meaningless. They didn't tell the truth about someone, not the way that their fear-sweat and their blood did.

Her brow furrowed, and she contemplated Varia's question. There was subtext there, that much she was certain. But she wasn't entirely sure what that subtext was, or why it seemed so important.

"I don't have a mate, if that's what you mean,"
she asked, a bit stymied. Her lack of experience with packs -- and wolves in general, come to that -- made the notion of an all-female pack something she didn't even consider as an option. "There's a male that travels with me. He's rather useless for your purposes, I guess, but I am responsible for him." She spoke in a way that suggested she was honor-bound -- which, in her eyes, she was -- and that her honor was more important than her life.

It seemed important to mention Gaspard, although she suspected that the subtext made this fact unacceptable. Then again, she didn't really care. Perhaps it would incite the other wolf into a rage and they could fight again.

"Varia." She said finally introducing herself, she knew her opponents name and now it was time to share her identity as well. "Head Warrior of Antianeira." Why not flaunt her title when the opportunity arised, besides Lungaia needed to know that she wasn't just some run of the muck wolf from a pack, but an important one, one who's role was high. Besides, she hated when the weak-blooded wolves of the pack went out and recruited more of their type. It was insulting to everything Antianeira stood for - both past and present. How can a warrior pack exist without warriors?

Lungaia's next words made Varia bark out a laugh. "Thankfully you do not." Had this female had a mate then Varia would not have been opposed to killing him in order to ensure she follow her to the pack, where she clearly belonged. Varia smiled, an awkward thing to see upon her face but she smiled none the less. "All males are useless to my purposes." No matter what the Queen said Varia was still pissed to all levels that males were allowed to exist within the pack even if there were nothing but slaves to do their bidding. They wasted the Sisters time, for the males were unable to do anything for themselves, they didn't even hunt up their own meals.

"Even so, males are present within the pack, though they are nothing more than slaves." There was certainly a hint of both amusement and hatred in her voice. It was clear Varia didn't like having males around but having them work for her was about as perfect as it could get. Moving back to business. "To join the pack would to bring yourself into service of the Queen. She is a warrior herself, and is the only wolf I can truly respect." No one else seemed to be able to stand before Varia and earn themselves respect in her eyes, not even the female before her. Respect was something that was earned after all and other than a simple duel she had called to a end Lungaia had done nothing to win Varia's respect. "If you wish to live such a life then I can show you the way, if not, then perhaps we should finish our fight and end it properly."

She tilted her head attentively, listening to Varia's words. Her brow furrowed. The anger -- no, disdain -- that emanated from her was intriguing. It was an emotion Lungaia herself had felt on numerous occasions, but never with such...narrow focus. It spoke untold volumes of just what sort of pack she was walking into. Well, no matter. Lungaia cared little for how others conducted their affairs. She cared only for the possibility for outlet of these murderous rages that sometimes came over her.

"I think Gaspard would be honestly suited for such a life," she said. She suspected it would be a relief to him. He was weak and a natural subordinate, the kind of wolf who could only be truly happy when he was told what to do and didn't need to control his own destiny.

She would personally make sure he was not ill-treated. She owed that to him until he was dead, as she had made him her responsibility.

Now, in regards to the offer that was laid at her paws..."I pledge loyalty to no wolf I have not met. Take me to your queen, and I'll see if she is what you say."

She watched Varia patiently, standing firm. If the other wolf wished to fight her, it was no worry of hers. Antianeira would be short one head warrior if that was her choice.

As far as Varia was concerned the only thing males were suited for was a life of slavery...well that and practice killing. Meh details. But if this female wished to bring her little pet along to the pack then Varia would have to suffer his presence...for the time being at least, if the male did something wrong well then she would correct the situation with utmost swiftness.

Varia nodded slightly at Lungaia's next words. It was wise to not swear allegiance to someone whom you had not yet met. "That is a wise decision." And she left it at that. "Follow me then, I shall take you to the Queen at once." Turning Varia began to pad off, knowing all to well that she now had her back turned to the female who only moments ago had been trying to rip her throat out. She kept alert though, knowing that it was never wise to drop ones guard.

She'd come back to collect Gaspard once she'd scoped out the territory, she thought -- make sure that she was making a fair decision. If not, she'd just have to find someplace else for him to stay.

Curse her sense of responsibility.

Silently, seeing no need to prolong conversation, she padded after Varia, rather curious as to precisely what sort of creature such a wolf would pledge her allegiance to.
