The Togepi stopped kicking suddenly when Faleen made a comment about poorly bred lines. It may have even... glared. Were Togepi even capable of such an expression? If they were, it had passed quickly, replaced by the small creature's face scrunching up. "Pr-pr-priiiiii-iiiii!" It cried saddened by the comment the mean human had made.

"Awww... Kaylee, you hurt its feelings!" Nyx turned the pokemon around to face her and began making faces and... baby noises... at it... The loud sobbing of the pokemon died off and was soon replaced by happy gurgles and togepi-babble. "What does breeding matter? Would you tell Maxwell that she wasn't any good because she wasn't carefully bred?" She certainly wouldn't- Maxwell was almost a thousand pounds of metal, rock, and grit. That Aron she found in the wild so long ago could probably take out half of the rest of Nyx's team, if not all of them... No. She would never ever say something like that to the Aggron.

"Good, because I already bought her!" Nyx grinned at her fellow Rocket. "She was on sale!" That meant more money for buying other things she might want. At least now that her little... outburst was done, they could move on. Nyx cuddled her new little pokemon happily, making little squealing sounds every so often. Truly bizarre behavior for the scientist... except, say, when she was around the boss.

"Okay! Lets go get your tools." The Togepi threw its arms into the air at the same time Nyx said 'tools'. Whatever tools were, the pokemon obviously thought they were exciting!

"Chanute." Either the name had popped in her head fairly quickly, or she'd been wishing she could find an egg pokemon of her very own. "Why don't you name your pokemon?" It only made sense that Nyx would name her's; She tended to be very close to her pokemon, more like friends than master and trainer--An odd thing for a woman who did the things that she had to other pokemon.

"To-ge to-ge prriii!" The spike ball pokemon wiggled gleefully at her new name. It was unlikely that something that adorable had actually glared. It was more likely that Faleen's eyes had been playing tricks on her. Obviously.

Nyx walked to the right of Faleen yet again as they made their way to the tool shop.

"They have species names, yes, but not individual names." Nyx didn't know Faleen well enough to know she wasn't being honest, however. "What do you do if your pokemon is in a group of others of its species?" It was, of course, a matter of preference. Most people named their pokemon, but there were more than a few that did not; They probably thought along the same lines as Faleen about their pokemon.

"Ahh, yes." The agent smiled, "I've alw- I wanted one when I was younger. There was a Togekiss in my favorite fairy tale, and for years, I asked for one of my very own for my birthday." That was, until the accident with Cheese; She'd never stopped wanting a Togekiss, but the desire had been pushed to the back of her mind, buried under things she'd deemed more important than owning or training pokemon.

There was a tool shop within view finally. Maybe the one Faleen had in mind.

"Yes, I hope so." She would be sorely disappointed if the little pokemon didn't eventually evolve into a wonderful Togekiss. Every princess needed a Togekiss; They were sort of like fair godmothers in that regard.

Nyx had no interest in tools, so she walked close behind Faleen, patiently waiting for the woman to locate and make her purchases. "They're in a few, but my favorite is about a princess that turns into a Togekiss." She coughed, trying to distract from what she would say next. "I know it by heart."

Chanute waved her arms excitedly, she wanted to hear this story. It would no doubt be about her, and she loved stories about her.

If only Faleen realized how deep this fondness for such tales ran. "Ahh..." It was too bad that other people knowing about it embarrassed Nyx to no end. "A fairy raises princes and princesses in her home, and when they leave, she gives them a gift. She sends a princess she favors above all the others to see the other princesses, to figure out what gift she would like." She paused for a moment to poke at some interesting looking tool. "One was gifted with beauty, but then she got sick and lost her looks, one was given the gift of eloquence, but ended up talking so much she annoyed anyone who listened to her, one was given the gift of pleasing, but it made her lie and no one trusted her, and another was gifted with wit, and as a result, never took anything seriously."

The story was very much a careful what you wish for type story. Chanute didn't think this, she was busy thinking about what she'd ask for, and waiting for her human to get to the good part, with her in it.

"The favorite princess asked the fairy to give her the gift to make herself and everyone around her happy; So the fairy turns her into a Togekiss." It sounded harsh, but apparently it made the princess in the story happy, since she went on to fly around the world and share her gift.

Nyx's summary of the story was punctuated with a loud gargling from her stomach.

"A lot of those stories do." Nyx retorted with a smile.

Lunch sounded good to her, and probably to the little pokemon too. "Do you know of anyplace around here? I don't come to the city terribly often." Nyx walked beside Faleen, grinning as she carried her new pokemon. In her mind, everyone was looking at her Togepi, and they were in aw; In reality, no one was even aware she was taking up space on the side walk.

"Lets get something... fried! Fried and greasy and bad for us!" There was a spring in Nyx's step as she walked beside the other Agent. Thankfully, since Faleen had been promoted, she'd stopped calling Nyx ma'am and being very formal with her. Formalities were for the labs and missions.

"I think sitting down would be nice. Then we can shop some more." Maybe she'd go home with more than just a new pokemon today.
