Barth groaned.
Fast?
"You err, saw that, did you? It wasn't really fast, was it?" It had felt like forever. "I wasn't keen on getting anything lopped off, is all," he said defensively.
He gave Christof a wobbly, reassuring smile. His shoulder was sticky.
"I see you're back in one piece. I'm alright. Got a bit scratched when he dragged me through the corn. No damage, otherwise."

"Well at least you fought him off without any real trouble." He said instead; not really feeling up to argue about the length of time it took to finish the battle. Though this made him wonder if the world seemed slower to the sloth, than it did to others around him.
"Think there will be any others?" He asked. Only realizing his mistake of not being specific enough until after he spoke and added, "Cloaked people, I mean." To be truthful, he was a tad curious if there was going to be other students tagging along down this path as well. It would be nice. Not to mention reassuring to know that there would be more people to fight of any future danger that they might encounter along the way.

A mysterious hooded figure has been watching the student's actions all this time. Out of nowhere the seemingly fade from the fog right in front of your student, grabbing them away from the others. Your student is being attacked! HP: 17

Damage to Tybalt: 0 Looks like he had his answer.
Tybalt barely had enough time to grab hold of his weapon before he was dragged off by another intruder. Slightly different in size and with different weapons. Though like the other, he gave no explanation as to why he was even attacking him!
"The hell's your problem!?" He snapped, using the the opponents miss as a chance to strike back; whipping the rusty pipe across the cloaked man's back.

Christof nervously tightened the makeshift bandage around his neck, spreading it out as much as he could for maximum hold. One piece. Right. Something deep in him was a bit bitter that Barth had shown such competence in his absence. It meant that he COULD have stayed by his Mistress's side, or at least have gotten Malodore to finish the job, and Barth hadn't needed his help at all. He was just... really lazy. That.... Joysucker. At the same time, not being completely helpless DID put a better spin on this Master... he could only appreciate Barth's Deviousness.
It was a troubling conundrum.
As Tybalt caught up, the hunchback straightened politely, brows narrowing. The canine looked familiar- so familiar, but from where?
A purple place, a place that ebbed and flowed and flickered with bats and tentacles... oh... oh HELL'S BELLS! He flushed immediately, visibly stiffening with embarrassment at the sight of his ship-mate.
Please, please, please don't let Master Barth, or ESPECIALLY Calder find out about the Peg-Leg incident, oh Fear Alive....
It seemed what little remained of his reputation would stay in tact for now, as SOMETHING suddenly grabbed Tybalt from view. For a moment the hunchback was relieved...
And then immediately felt terrible about it.
edit: SO SLOW BATTLE STARTED WHILE I WASN'T LOOKING XD <3

There is no explanation for their actions just like the rest, moving quickly and efficiently, swinging forward with their weapon towards Tybalt. What was their problem? Certainly nothing, they just really like to grab people in the fog it seemed, or did they? Could Tybalt unlock the answers or would they be striked down? HP: 12

Damage to Tybalt: 0 "For Jack's sake---TALK!" He snapped; dodging another attack from the enemy and swinging the rusty pipe around at his opponent once more. Feeling it connect with grim satisfaction.
If there was anything more annoying than getting dragged into a battle for no apparent reason, it was having the opponent ignore you on top of that. Seriously! Were they incapable of speech, or did they just not feel the need to reply? Whatever the reason, the black dog was only getting more annoyed by the minute. He already felt tired! He didn't want to waste valuable time and energy on a battle with opponent that was only going to ignore him!

The figure did not even grunt in pain from the consecutive hits and regardless of what Tybalt may have wanted, the figure did not speak. It just watched him as it readied to charge at them once again before moving quickly, once again leading with its weapons. HP: 8

Damage: 0 This was getting him nowhere. This guy wasn't going to talk, no matter what he said, or did. So there was absolutely no point in even speaking. Though maybe... maybe if he beat the s**t out of him, he might get a word or two? It was worth a shot... and hell! He was certainly angry enough to give it a try!
"Fine. Have it your way." He growled; ducking low, just as the weapons whooshed past, over his head, nearly clipping his ears. Fortunately, it gave the black dog an opening and in that split second, he struck forward with his own weapon; hitting the intruder squarely in the chest.

The figure was hit flat in the chest and flew back but other than the sound of the figure's body hitting the ground and then getting back up, there was no sound. It's like it was taunting Tybalt. Damage to Tybalt: 0 (( Wow, I guess this guy wants to be a tank. )) The silent taunt must have worked, because even though Tybalt effectively dodged the oncoming attack, he failed to land one of his own and instead, skidded across the ground; stopping a few feet away. Terrible. With a landing that bad, it was a wonder that he didn't make a face plant.

Considering the taunt, you'd think the figure would laugh as Tybalt failed but there was nothing. There might have been a smile under that hood but there was no sound except for the figure's movements as it went after Tybalt again. HP: 2

Sure he had lucked out so far with dodging, but now he was having difficulties with landing hits of his own! Even after dodging this one he failed to even scratch the guy---and was that b*****d smiling!? He couldn't see it, but he swore that he was smiling!

Christof kept at the ready between the resting Sloth Demon, quiet Kelpie and the reaper that had dragged the black dog boil into the corn, pipe at the ready. As the battle ensued, the hunchback caught snippets through whipping corn stalks of Tybalt flying, his weapon swinging blow after blow, artfully dodging the fiery reaper's attacks...
He felt the bottom of his stomach clench. Fire... it had to be a fiery reaper. He was suddenly INCREDIBLY glad it had chosen to attack the dog. He shifted, swallowing. He was also now incredibly embarrassed by his own run in with one of these creatures. Tybalt made it look so easy! Maybe it was just this fiery opponent- hopefully it wouldn't set the corn around them ablaze.
KILL IT! He would have cheered, but only managed a holler in the back of his throat, punching the air with pent up aggression.
And then Tybalt missed. Oh no- he hadn't effected the poor dog's concentration, had he? At least this reaper didn't seem to have a cell phone on him.
