packman_on_crack What has been making me feel sad lately is, I am an artist, and if any of you are to, then you would understand what kind of an emotional toll it can take on a person Recently i have been going through a drawing block, and its been like this for a month and a half, And I am extremly scared that it will never go away, I was recently accepted into an art school, and im worried that my skills will have been reduced back to the basics and all that junk :C Also everything I do lately, i seem to be messing up :T
You are the apple...
I hate any sort of art block. I've been in a state of writer's block for a while now myself. If you feel like you're going to be stuck back at the basics, put yourself there. Draw some really simple things and then slowly work yourself back up to where you currently are. That might help take the block away and you can realize again just how far you've come in your abilities, which might inspire you as well.
and I am your core.

When I suffer from artist's block I draw "Echo Line." What it basically is is ONE LINE that you draw from one point, and doodle around (but keeping the distance between the line and itself at about equal. You can manipulate the line to make anything you want, really if you draw in a faint shape with a pencil and work that way. Then you fill it in with one colour and it really helps to just pass the time. You can even make large pictures with it. This is an old example of my echo line when I was first starting: The heart is a better example of echo line because the "Eye" or that weird thing on the right actually isn't "equal" between the lines because of the way that it sticks out at the ends (though the heart isn't equal either because of how it clumps up at the bottom there, but it is a better example). If you want more examples I can draw some or take pics of my random echo line doodles in my scribblers that I tend to do in class. You can make echoline Blocky like a maze, or Spiked like the bottom of that heart, or Curvatured like the left side of the heart. It's not as easy as it looks, but it doesn't have to be perfect... that's why I like it so much. It might not be the thing for you, but it's a suggestion smile

Please take this to either the debate subforum or to private messaging. It's fine to simply point something out but please don't prolong the debate. It's obvious you two have different opinions on it, but please don't fill the topic with your debate.
