What if they have a meltdown? What will that radiation do to us? Even trace amounts, what would it do? You cant even dispose of nuclear waste, there is no way that those vapors are harmless.
I'm freaking out.

i heard about this at school because everyone was talking about it.
they're actually lucky, cause it's probably going to benifit the ecomney and it's been bad for japan for years. and not a lot of people died like they should've concidering the high level earthquake (8.9) and the massive tsunami.
but then again *prays*
sorry for bad spelling sweatdrop

Amitia I just heard about it a few hours ago. D: The worst earthquake in Japan since the known history! And an even more destructive tsunami... Terrible news. My sister is going to Japan as an exchange student in 11 days. I'm glad she wasn't there yet, but I hope the locals (and tourists) will survive this catastrophe. The number of deaths is still unknown, but I hope that those in danger will be rescued on time. D: Also good luck to all the other places that might get hit soon. Luckily the communications between countries are working well and everyone is getting prepared now. Let's hope that damage will be minimal! : S I'll pray for your sister, too! Hopefully things won't be so hectic as to interfere with her studies...
Praying for everyone in Japan and in other affected countries... The Oregon coast was basically shut down today, but thankfully no tsunami reached us...
I'm worried about the gaping hole in the earth's crust...D; Could that result in more problems?...
@Smile; do explain how this disaster will benefit the economy, lol.

I have a friend who's currently in Japan on travel study, and several Japanese friends who are either here now for this semester, or were here last semester. Hits kind of close to home.
Praying for everyone affected, wherever you are in the world.

Oh my gosh. I heard about it yesterday. D: I just heard that the hole in the earth's crust is 150 by 50 miles long. Good Lord. gonk There are even some suggesting that they might have to revise the earthquake from 8.9 to 9.1 because it was so powerful. They're definitely in my prayers. Oh, and did you guys hear that the quake was so powerful, it shifted the Earth's axis? I think it was by about ten inches. That's just...holy crap.

Ah, this is so sad. Every night when I pray, I include the Japanese in this mess. I watched the tsunami and earthquake after shakes on CNN Live, and they were ripping through houses and people like it was nothing.
I tried to get the Japan Relief items, but I don't have any cash (sadly), so I just donated to my Church.
May God Bless Them! heart

Oh man, when I heard it yesterday morning, I was shocked and scared. It's been on the news all day yesterday. I hope everyone in Japan are safe and okay. Agreed with hiogurl123, I wanted to buy the Japan Relief items, as well, but I don't have any gaia cash.

Does anyone have an article or anything about the rupture in Earth's crust? I'd like to read more about it. And, my grandparents were vacationing in Japan when the quake hit and we still haven't heard from them.
