Nao would be happy to see another resident when he got home~ This made him smile, though he tried not to show how excited he was. Seating himself on the drawer, he watched the other pick up a piece of fish and reached down to grab, what he assumed to be, another piece of fish..or some kind of dried meat. He'd need to go through this and make sure that everything was still okay to eat.
Sliding down next to Eli again, he plopped onto his rear and flicked his tail this way and that, looking back over to him curiously.
"You'll have to meet the others," he pointed out, ears high and listening to see if anyone else happened to be around, "There aren't a lot of us, but it's always nice to know other cats, too." Kevin--liked company. So he usually latched onto whatever other cat came by. This one didn't seem to mind as much as a few others, which was good. He didn't want to get scolded again.
"And I think Nao will like you."

"I want to meet them," Eli stated with a nod before biting off a piece of his fish. That was mostly true, partly a lie. He couldn't say he particularly liked meeting strangers as it was impossible to know who to trust and who to not trust, even if someone you trusted was the one introducing them. But as he'd already decided, if they were anything like Kevin, they were certainly cats Eli would want to meet.
Plus, it would just be really weird to avoid people you were supposed to be living with. "When's your leader coming back?" Might as well get introductions done as soon as possible. If everyone was away, then he couldn't imagine he'd meet any of them today. Or maybe he would, who knew? But he was curious as to when he'd get to meet everyone, not matter when it was.
"If he ends up hating me, I'm going to blame you," he added as an after thought, but he was obviously teasing. Even though they'd just met, he hoped Kevin wouldn't mind. ☮

Kevin wouldn't be able to understand if Eli didn't want to meet them. They were other cats! Kevin was a social butterfly by nature, but these cats were trusted here in the territory that Eli seemed to be interested in joining. Maybe as a permanent resident, at that..
Pushing those thoughts away, he looked over to Eli as he nibbled on his food, not too terribly hungry but he didn't want to make the other eat by himself. That might be awkward to just sit and stare while he ate.
Giggling a bit--he caught the teasing, thank god for Eli--crossing his legs and wrapping his tail around his waist after, he picked at some meat with his nails, "I dont think Nao can hate anyone. Not anyone that's a good person, at least," he offered, voice quiet, "He's a little strange though. he's nice, dont get me wrong--but he has a temper on him sometimes." Should he be telling Eli this? He wasn't sure. "Only if someone upsets him, though. He lived here before any of us, so I guess it's nice of him to let everyone in." Shrugging, he smiled at the other and took the last bit of meat off the bones before standing to toss it into the 'trash' drawer. He'd have to get Caprice to help him clean it out later.

Eli smiled. Good, he'd picked up on the teasing. It would have sucked if he offended the other cat right off the bat, wouldn't it? (Then why take the risk? Because if wouldn't be fun if he didn't!) That aside, he ended up tilting his head in curiosity.
"Temper, huh?" He asked, taking a moment to shove more of the fish into his mouth. "I guess I'll just have to stay on his good side." That wouldn't be too hard. Maybe. Eli wasn't particularly annoying, in his opinion, so he probably wouldn't grate on someone's nerves unless his teasing got out of hand. But he couldn't really judge how easy or how difficult it would be since he didn't even know the guy yet. For the sake of his own peace of mind, however, he was going to assume it was manageable.
"Will I get to meet him anytime soon?" He asked, picking up what little scrap was left of his fish to put in the same drawer Kevin had tossed his. ☮

"I'm not sure when he'll be back," he shrugged again, tail swaying in thought, "Maybe a day or two. He didn't really tell me much about him leaving," smiling he motioned for the other to follow.
"You wanted to look around, right?" He'd assumed that's what the other was doing, at least. Exploring. Kevin had done the same thing when he first came here, it was an interesting area..away from the city, quiet, and they even had a stream not too far off from here.
Padding over towards a crumbled wall that had an edge leading up to the rather unsteady looking ceiling, he wiggled a bit out of habit before jumping up onto the edge, climbing up the wall and towards a hole in the roof. "You can see a lot up here, we can look here first~" He had a pushy side, apparently.

So long as he got to check the place out, Eli couldn't say that he minded Kevin's pushy side. At least not for now, anyway. "Then I guess I'll look forward to meeting him until then," he concluded, hopping behind the smaller cat to keep up with him.
He didn't hesitate in following Kevin up to the roof. What could possibly go wrong up there? If he fell, he'd just land on his feet anyway. And what were the chances of him falling, unless Kevin was secretly a sociopath who was planning to push him to his death once they were up there? For a moment, his eyes narrowed suspiciously at Kevin from behind, but he quickly pushed those thoughts aside. Now wasn't a time to let his imagination run rampant; his curiosity and need for exploration far surpassed any suspicions he may have had.
"Okay," he stated, once wiggling up onto the roof, looking around. "Start pointing stuff out," he ordered playfully, mimicking the way Kevin had ordered him just moments earlier. What could he say? He liked to tease. ☮

Bah, Kevin wouldn't know how to push someone off the roof. He'd fall in the process of pushing, especially since Eli was larger than him. Making it up to the roof, he crawled up towards the top and plopped down at the tippy top, wiggling his feet as he waited for Eli.
Grinning at the teasing--once again he'd caught it, thankfully--he looked over to Eli and arched a brow. "Well," he pointed further past the territory, doing as he was told, "That's where the stream is. I've never seen it go dry, even in the summer, but it gets low sometimes. Makes it easier to catch fish~" He hummed, then pointed to the building he'd found Eli in, "That's the main building that everyone gathers in. Usually be dont bring people into the food place but running back and forth would have been a pain," it was apparently rude to eat near the rest of the food, Nao thought the kittens would gorge themselves probably. Apparently Kevin didn't follow all of the rules himself.
"Food place," such technical names for it, he pointed down to where they were, then over towards a seemingly in-tact shed-like building. "That's where we sleep. The old confessionals are in there, and they're big enough to fit a cat or two in each. Plus they have pillowed everything in there, so it's really warm and comfy," Kevin mused, tail flicking around behind him and swatting Eli as he came up beside him. He'd find his own ways to tease.

Whether he would or not, Eli was pretty sure it was a legitimate concern. But the thoughts were gone from his mind entirely as he looked from once building to another, thinking it best to pay attention since this was, apparently, going to be his new home. Seemed pretty organized, which he liked. Everything was for something and that meant it wouldn't be confusing.
"What's a confessional?" Pausing to look at the rather intrusive tail, he rose a brow, not behind able to help a little snort from escaping him. Someone who could take teasing and dish it right back out? This was certainly a pleasant surprise. Flicking his tail right back at Kevin in retaliation, he stood and pranced a little closer to the edge to bend dangerously over the side to get a better look below them.
"Have you been here all by yourself for a while?" He asked right after, it suddenly dawning on him that this would be a pretty creepy place to be all alone in at night. Any place could be creepy at night, but this one was pretty old-looking. ☮

"A confessional is where the humans go to talk to other humans about their sins," he shrugged a little, smiling at him as if he expected him to understand that completely. Kevin needed to think ahead with this sort of thing.
"I've been alone for a few days. Not a lot of cats have come through, but I have to stay here to make sure no one else takes our stuff," their food, pretty much. Not that he was much of a fighter. If someone did come and try to take something, he probably wouldn't be able to fend them off.
But yes, it was creepy at night.
Moving to get up, he crawled further up the roof and plopped back down, stretching his long legs out to peek over towards the city, "I haven't been back to the church in a while. When Nao or Elijah gets back I wanna go for a few days." He missed his humans.

Though it was nice of Kevin to have such confidence in him, Eli didn't understand at all. All this church lingo only had him staring at the other cat with a furrowed brow. Drawing away from the edge before he did something stupid like lose his footing, he trotted back over to the smaller cat, this time sitting a foot or two behind him.
"Why do they talk about sins?" He didn't want to sound too stupid, so maybe he'd just ask what a sin was in a round-about sort of way.
Flicking his ears, he looked on towards the city, puffing his cheeks out, ears momentarily flattening against his head. "Is it far away?" The church, he meant. If Kevin was going for a few days, it either had to be because of a distance or because he really liked it, Eli figured. ☮

Kevin didn't seem to notice that the other had no idea what he was talking about. The younger figured he knew, as would everyone else, even though it really wasn't common knowledge. Especially to cats.
"They talk about'em so they feel better. It's like if I told you about something that was bothering me, it'd make me feel better," was that a good example? He wasn't sure. He figured it depended on the situation. "But the confessionals are comfy either way," he mused, looking back at him curiously. Smiling, he flicked his tail this way and that before looking back towards the city.
"It's a few hours walk. Not too bad," he shrugged, "Depending on how busy the humans are I guess. If there are a bunch of cars I dont like to travel," he was horrified of what humans made, not of the humans themselves. Wiggling his feet, he moved to get up after a moment and slid down the roof to the edge, "I'll show you around inside," pointing buildings out didn't always help. He hopped down onto a bared wall a few feet down, then onto the ground below.

It didn't exactly help him figure out what sins were, but at least he knew that that what ever they were, they were bad. That made a little more sense, but why humans made special rooms for that was beyond him. Oh well. It was like the human race was known for making sense or anything.
Pushing the thoughts aside, he nodded, following the path Kevin had taken down to the ground. Once he'd landed safely, he shook his fur out before following suit after him.
"Huh. Can I go with you?" Was that creepy? They'd only met a little bit ago. Eli didn't want to sound like a stalker or anything, but he really wanted to see what the church was. It wasn't like he wanted to creep on a cat he just met, but how could someone not want to see pillowed rooms for sin-talking? To Eli, it just sounded like another adventure. Oh well. If it was creepy, he'd just explore on his own.
As he waited for a reply, he strutted his way towards the door he'd been trying to go through earlier. "Let's go.~" ☮

"If you wanna," he didn't mind the company. He liked Eli, he seemed fun. Trotting along, he slowed a little when the other headed for the door he'd wanted to go through earlier. Smiling, he padded up to jump at the handle, trying to reach it--it took a few tries, but he managed to catch it and the door pushed open.
They had confessionals here--they weren't in the best shape, but they had them. They slept there~ And even if they weren't all in one piece they were still comfy. This door opened up into the nave, some pews still in tact and the alter at the front crumbled. But the pews that were still in tact were cracks and broken. Padding up between them down the main hallway, he hopped up onto one, then up onto the back of another, pointing. "That room leads to the confessionals," he hummed, the one with the door only half in tact, "The hallway leading to it fell a while ago, so we usually go the back way and not through here."

Eli pretty much bound ahead into the room when he saw that there was space to do so. Looking around, he hopped onto the nearest elevated surface, only looking at Kevin when he started speaking again. "I do want to," he added as an after thought before he squinted at the door ahead.
"What if this falls too?" He asked, looking up and tilting his head back so that he chin and neck formed a nearly even line. "Is it safe in here? . . Or in there?" By 'there' he meant where the confessionals were. If they slept there, it would be a little bit of a downer to have the roof fall on your head in the middle of a good dream.
Crawling up onto one of the other pews, he jumped away from it only a second later when it creaked, eying it with accusation and resentment when he was on the ground again. ☮

"This place was abandoned because of an earthquake a while back. They tried to fix it, but the parts that they didn't try to fix just fall." He pointed up at the newer looking stones and craftwork, "The ceiling here was redone so it wont fall. And the confessionals have a thin roof, so if it did collapse then the tops of the confessionals would catch the rubble, they're made of wood," they had all looked through the place carefully before they found where they could sleep and such.
Hopping down when Eli did, he smirked and reached up a bit to touch the man's fluffy tail--he couldn't help himself, it was so big and fluffy and just..fluffy. With that, though, he smiled and ran ahead before he could make himself blush from being so touchy. Oops.
"I'll show them to you," he hopped up the steps to the alter, stretching out his legs and perking his ears, "Then you can pick out which one you want."
