Star nodded and smiled looking over the young filly. "Well then, we might as well have a first lesson now. But you might not see all the effects of my teachings till you are older and have finished growing." After all foals as a general rule were clumsy and prone to being uncoordinated, but then they were always growing and had legs much longer than they really needed. In time Tia would gain proportion and settle into herself and then she could use the things Star would teach her, but it was only fair to warn the girl now, after all she might be expecting an instant change.

She gave a stern nod. "Practice makes perfect and I'm still growing into my legs" She giggled lightly watching intently for her first lesson. She was quite excited.. eager to learn what she could from the mare before her. She was so excited in fact.... that her little rear end just couldn't set still for too long at all.

Nodding and smiling she moved around the young filly. "First head up, much as you might want to ladies do not look at their hooves when walking. Neither do they run.... in public..." Giving a smile making it clear that there are times when she could just be herself but a lady had rules when she was in the company of strangers, and in public. Leaning in and giving Tia's rump a nudge. "Don't fidgit, ladies are never nervous or over excited, at least they never show it." Yes there were many things to learn but it would come in time and the more she learnt the more of the others she would pick up without realising it.

She actually had the urge to look at her hooves at that moment but fought to hold her head high with pride much like her grandfather did. As her rump was nudged, she nearly lost her balance having to stand legs splayed in order to keep from biffing it into the dirt.. "Sorry.." She got a serious look across her face as she straightened up once more this time keeping her hind end in check as best as she could. "Like this?" She asked looking at the mare to see if she'd been doing as she should this time. She tried to store all this new knowledge away. Don't run in public.. does that mean no more knights and dragons? She thought to herself thinking of the games she and her siblings would some times play.

Smiling and nodding, Star could see that she was trying, though it would take much practice to get it totally right. "Much better." Rather pleased to have such an enthusiastic student, but she saw a look in the fillys eyes. "Don't worry, there are times you can be yourself, all foals should play, be they ladies in training or not." She knew how hard it could be to have not time where you could let your hair down. Being on display all the time was hard, and draining. Relaxing and having fun were as much part of being a lady in her opinion. How you acted was just part of it, besides out of high society even a little learning could shine though and mark you out as being a lady or refined. "Now try walking, over to that rock over there and back again. Don't look down, just make sure to watch ahead of you to know if obstacles are in your path, and lift your feet a little higher." It was hard to explain, she would see how the filly did before showing her.

She gave a small giggle. "For a moment there I thought I'd never get to play knights and dragons with my brother." She listened to what her new teacher was saying and gave a small nod. "Yes ma'am." She did as she was told, stumbling just a bit as her hoof hit a stone. Reaching the rock, she turned and made her way back, fighting the urge to glance down.

Nodding having thought as much from the little fillys expression. "Never, nothing should ever stop you from playing or having fun with your siblings." Watching her as she walks shaking her head a little. "Your not looking where your stepping, try this I'm going to hold a twig in my mouth but it will show you where I'm looking so I know what's coming." With that she finds a long but light twig, holding it in her mouth as she starts walking, her eyes watching the ground in front of her where the end of the twig was. Lifting her hooves a little higher to avoid any little rocks and bits of wood. "See that's where you need to look, that way you know what to expect a few steps ahead, and if you lift your feet high enough you can avoid anything small on the ground. Try again." Smiling softly and moving out the way.

She gave another smile. "Good.. I think my siblings might think I'd been swapped out some how if I stopped playing with them." She gave a small grin that said she was some times a bit of a rabble-rouser at home from time to time. She didn't get into extensive trouble.. she was just like most foals energetic. She did however get a serious look as she watched the mare once more. Determined she nodded and tried once more, concentrating so much that hr tongue lolled out the side of her mouth in her concentration not wanting to do it wrongly this time around.

Star couldn't stop herself from smirking, the foal looked so adorable as it concentrated so hard, smothering a giggle as she saw her tongue peeking out the side of her mouth, gust grinning instead, it wasn't funny but it was so cute she couldn't help herself. Nodding when the foal was done. "Much better, you did really well that time. How did it feel?" Smiling at the filly wondering how the movement had felt, though she expected that it was probably somewhat unusual to her.

"It was.... a bit awkward to be honest.." She grinned wide and gave a small giggle. "But maybe the more I do it the more natural it will feel?" Her tail gave a small twitch as she pondered this thought a bit.

She couldn't help herself, she had to laugh softly and nod. "Yes, that's what it takes, you keep doing it and finally you don't realise you are doing it." Smiling, pleased that she had grasped that part of what she was being taught.

She beamed happy that she'd actually figured at least that much out. "Then I shall be sure to keep trying is all." She grinned wide prancing in place before remembering herself and standing still.

Nodding with approval and encouragement. "Yes, thats how all of this works really, you learn it and are made to repeat and repeat and finally its just instinctive. All it takes is time and practice." And sometimes reminders but she wasn't going to do that to Tian. Looking round not totally sure what to teach her next, looking back to the foal. "How long is it ok for you to be away from your mother?" Not wanting to get her in trouble.

She beamed enthusiastically. "Oh.. as long as I'm home before the moon hits the sky and all goes dark they don't worry too much about me. My family seems to be built on wanderers and warriors." She giggled in a soft and cute tone. "So really... as long as I'm not hurt and mind my P's and Q's I'm good to go!"

Nodding again, that sounding very different from her childhood, smiling glad that Tian was happy. "Well that's good, I'd rather that neither of us got in to trouble." Smiling softly, moving around a little as she thinks, looking over at the foal trying to decide what should be next, she had made a start on posture, but really the rest could seem more like a criticism of how the youngster was now.
