"Akja--What?" Vaith asked Aksaja, his tongue and mouth worked uncooperatively with the seemingly new foreign language he confronted. Before he could even try to ask the other for a repeat of his name, he found himself with another introduction. Vaith wasn't good at introductions. (She was purrrrrppppleeeee. PURPLEEEEE.)

He held out his hand towards Sin, shaking briefly.

More and more people were coming onto the boat, filling up by the minute. A new boil-- Israfel. His question brought a good point. What was the safest place to be? On the mass? On the roof? What if a bomb landed on the roof?

All thoughts were interrupted when his nice fluffy cape wasn't so fluffy anymore. Or more accurately put, the fluffy cape wasn't there. Instead, Vaith now stood in a black suited tux, the tie wrapped tightly around his neck. For Vaith, it was a mix of black and yellow. A black outer tux, a yellow collared shirt with a black tie. His red eyes widened slightly in surprise, one hand raised automatically to loosen the collar and tie.

He looked sharp. He looked awesome. He almost didn't want his clothes-- GOD THIS WAS AWESOMEEEE.

A WILD CLOAK HAS APPEARED!

Cloak was not happy. In fact, she looked like the very opposite of happy. As the students piled on board one after the other, the frown on her lips looked more and more permanent, and her eyes narrowed on each of them in turn as if she were adding them to some mental s**t list.

She sat quietly on an upright barrel as Winter greeted the students, saying nothing as their attire was suddenly changed to suit Winter’s strange preferences. She herself had chosen to just wear a simple black robe to cover up whatever it was that Winter found distasteful about her outfit. Winter had only glanced it over once with scarcely concealed disapproval, but said nothing. Cloak assumed that meant it was better than her trick or treating gear (which she still wore underneath).

If those students thought they were going to get off with just a little outfit change, they were sincerely mistaken. If Cloak had to be here, on this ship, separated from Dagger and putting all of their important plans on hold then these students were going to pay for wasting her time. Never mind that the trip was mandatory by Hellma’s decree. All that was left was to think of just how to administer the punishment.

Then her stomach growled, and the answer was clear.

Cloak jumped off the barrel she had been using as a perch and disappeared into a room somewhere on the second floor, only to return carrying the flimsiest, most poorly crafted fishing rods that probably ever existed. They looked like little more than long sticks with some string and week-old bait.

“Hey, ghouls and boils, why don’t you all grab one of these fishing rods here and start trying to catch my dinner for me, eh?” She dropped them all unceremoniously onto the deck, then turned around and sat right back down on her barrel. “Maybe I’ll reward whoever catches the biggest one.”

((The object of the game is to catch the biggest fish and appease our moody ToTer. The person that catches the biggest fish wins a prize!

  • To cast, roll one 100-sided die. The number you roll will indicate the size of your fish.
  • You may only roll once.
  • PLEASE INCLUDE an RP post with your roll - the students actually have to do this if you want to participate.
  • This game will last for 24 hours (ending at 8:30 PM EST/5:30 PM PST on the 9th).

Casting rolls are as follows:
1 = YOU CATCH THE BIGGEST FISH YOU’VE EVER SEEN. Only it manages to get away by eating your whole fishing rod – you were lucky you didn’t lose a hand! Before it goes, though, it spits something up on deck for you.
2 – 25 = You don’t catch anything, sorry. ):
26+ = You catch a fish! The higher the number the bigger the fish. (ie 26 = puny, 100 = enormous)

You are not required to participate in daily challenges with Cloak, and I will (hopefully) be doing other smaller games for anyone interested/around. Also, the fish in this game will not contribute to the overall food count on the boat.))

Aksaja had opened his mouth to reply to Mei when quite suddenly he felt something change in his own attire. Blinking, he looked down to find himself dressed differently than he ever had been before.

What he'd worn to the Scarentines Party was more on the order of what he considered 'formal' wear, not this . . . whatever it was. Frowning, Aksaja picked at the bottom hem of his tuxedo coat. "I . . . really have no idea." Glancing toward where Winter had been standing, he tipped his head in that direction. "Maybe she did it? Somehow?"

And then the lightning dragon noticed Israfel, looking rather like he'd been put through the ringer. Oh man. "What happened to you?" he asked, going over to eye the other boil a bit.

Before anything else could happen, though, the trainer assigned to their boat started yelling something about fishing. Aksaja blinked, then shrugged. "Well, why not give it a try?" he commented to the group at large - going to grab one of the fishing poles.

Aksaja's manners were impressive especially for a monster, she flashed him an appreciative smile. "I can see why Riley likes you." Then she nodded to Vaith who seemed a bit...excited. She grinned when she spotted Vivi, ohh and she had worn her hair down!

"I'm ready this should be fun!" She turned in time to see Israfel looking...haggard as he got onto the boat. She was about to greet him but then Mrs Winters appeared.

Sin was thrilled, she was beyond thrilled, when Professor Winters transformed their clothes she lifted her hands and slowly spun around. She felt like a demon princess, this was amazing. She examined her new black gloves and then smoothed her hands down her dress with a purr of pleasure. Surely this was going to be the most luxuri-what?

She turned and looked at cloak with an arched brow, fish? She wanted them to grab those sticks, lean over the railings and try and pull a stinky wet fish up onto the boat in formal wear? Sin WAS curious about fishing, it seemed like one of those useful plebeian skills her mother hadn't wanted her to soil her hands with, like cooking. She just didn't want to try it in this lovely new dress, especially not if all her sea-worthy clothing was gone now. She quickly reached up a hand to make sure her pendant was still there.

Though Aksaja had never done anything like this fishing before, somehow . . . it seemed he was a natural at it. Or just lucky. The lightning dragon blinked as the fishing line sailed away from the boat in a near-perfect arc.

And within a few moments, there was a tugging at the line . . . and he yanked on the thing to haul up a fish that was pretty damn big, if he did say so himself. "Ha! This isn't hard at all!"

Waking up early wasn't as bad as she had thought considering that she had set over 5 catalarms to make sure that she woke up. Her habit of being late to everything was seriously starting to get her into unnecessary trouble. Thankfully she had packed the night before because if she had procrastinated, she definitely would have been late. It was more difficult trying to pack because she had no idea what the weather was going to be like. Of course she brought her swim suit and typical outfits but she wasn't sure if where they were going was going to be tropical or some frozen tundra.

Approaching the ship, Alcie was used to seeing yachts and such but this was definitely unexpected. For some reason she was expecting to see some dinky little lifeboat or something. Was this an indicator of how long they were going to be at sea? If so, it looked like this was not going to be some short boat ride... Shaking the thoughts from her head, Alcie felt a little better and more excited about the field trip. There was going to be water all around them and unlike most students, that seemed to make her more at ease.

The water demon stepped onto the ship and then looked down realizing that her attire had changed to something very... formal. She never dressed up like this unless it was for a very special occasion though she couldn't deny that she didn't love the gown. This had to be Professor Winter's work considering she was the etiquette professor and she definitely had good taste. Cerulean blue and flowy, Alcie twirled around once before continuing her way through the ship.

Spotting the familiar ghouls in the distance, Alcie waved to them quickly. "Hey Viveca and Sin! Can you believe the size of this ship?" Grinning happily, Alcie glided towards them but then accidentally bumped into Israfel. The look on his face startled her and then she realized that she knew the boil. He was in her minipet training group when they were making the Fear candies and she definitely remembered him from their music class. "Israfel? Are you alright?" Putting her hand on his shoulder, she had no idea what could be wrong considering they haven't even left port yet.

As she boarded the ship, Tsetsiliya began to feel a little nauseous. Had she over-prepared for the trip? Under-prepared? Needless to say, she had stuffed her rucksack to the best capacity she could, with things she had thought would be practical: warmer clothing (a warmer sash, specifically), wrapped packages of her grandmother's eye bread (and enough to share, if she knew anybody on board), bandages, a few homemade remedies from her mother's stock.. oh, she terribly wished she could have brought Casimir. At least she would have known him on board this ship, since she didn't really know anybody else.

The chaperoning teacher on the ship was one she had never seen, but she couldn't help but notice how.. displeased she looked with the state of the current students. Had they done something wrong, or was this one of those teachers that seemed perpetually grumpy? The poludnica couldn't be sure, and instead took to looking around at those who were aboard. She recognized Aksaja, as well as Alcyone and Sin from the Scarentine auction and the demon party.

As she contemplated talking to some of the others she knew (although saying she knew them was stretching it), she turned towards where Cloak was inviting any who were willing to participate in a round of fishing. In doing so, she felt her normal robes sway in a way that was unfamiliar to her, and a chill crept over her bare shoulders.

.. Bare?

She gaped down at her front, and for what was likely the hundredth time that month, she was wearing another evening gown. This one she did not own herself, but she had to admit it was rather pretty. Wringing gloved fingers together, she once again glanced around at the others on the deck. At least they all mirrored her in wearing formal dress; she likely wasn't the only one feeling embarrassed.

Scanning the deck for the woman Aksaja had mentioned, it wasn't long before her eye's located the culprit. Merope had mentioned before that she was up for formal attire.. But she didn't expect her to do anything of this sort!

A lot of the students appeared to be pleased with their new appearances.. Mei on the other hand, loathed this kind of attire. Looking over her dress, she couldn't help but sneer at the sight. Without giving it much thought, she began to tamper with the dress, tearing and shredding. She felt restricted in this dress, and she hated it! No doubt, Ms. Winters would disprove of this, but at this time.. She didn't care!

Once finished, she watched as two more students boarded the boat. Two ghouls, one who seemed to be friends with the other two ghouls already on board. A little envious of the fact her friends were off on different boats, Mei shifted her wait to eye the Trick or Treater who called out to them. An assignment? Already? Wow! That was fast.. "Aye, Aye." Mock saluting, she grasped the rod closest to her.

Wide-eyed and fully horrified, Shine hugged herself as she stared at the boat, watching the other students file on-board. She'd worried over the trip for the past few days, deciding which necessities she could abandon in favor of packing more candy. The thought of being wayyy out in the middle of the ocean without any sugar was worse than the thought of...well, being way out in the middle of the ocean.

She found some comfort after the boat lists were posted - Rain would be there too! A little smile crept across her tired face as she remembered.

"Don't want to be left behind..." she mumbled to herself, gathering her things and shuffling slowly up to the boat. Dear Jack, it really was frightening. Her claws made a jittery tak-tak-tak noise as she trailed her fingers along the railing, forcing one step after the other. Surely she would calm down when she got onto the boat. Maybe she wouldn't have to look at the water too much. And the 'floor' on the boat did feel good against her bare stockinged feet...

...wait, where was the floor? Shine felt unbalanced. Confused, she looked at her feet, managing only a little "uh." as she saw the heels. No. Ohhh no, no. Whining, she picked at the dress, tried to take a step, and toppled over.

Those.. 'fishing poles' looked like nothing more than twigs. Twigs. Vaith was sure he could make a better stick out of nothing than this.

"Hahaha .." His laughter trailed off as he picked up a slimy fishing rod, one eye closing in a grimace. His new suit was so sharp and awesome, he hoped he didn't splash any water on it. Maybe he could ask for a new suit if he did-- but he reaaaaallly liked this one. There was no guarantee he'd get the color yellow to accent the black suit again. God forbid, if he got pink.

Fumbling with the stick, he wondered how he might get anything with this bait. Why not stick some cheese on it? Cheese attracted mice-- Cheese attracted fish! RIGHT? biggrin

Alcyone hated fishing. Absolutely hated it. Though Cloak's poor mood was definitely scary. One fish... wouldn't hurt too much and Alcie realized that they were probably going to be eating fish during this trip anyway... So she decided to suck it up and she grabbed one of the dinky fishing rods. How were they supposed to catch anything with rods like these.... Shrugging it off, Alcie actually hoped that she wouldn't catch anything.

Tossing the bait into the water, Alcie stared down at the ocean wondering if there was even anything around. After a few moments, she felt a few tugs on her line and she realized that she had hooked something! The water demon rushed over and grabbed hold of the rod and then was jerked forward almost falling into the water. This fish was huge! After a long battle, Alcie finally managed to get the fish onto the deck and it was enormous. "Wow..." Looking over at Cloak, she wondered if a fish like this would appease her. And hopefully her fish friends could forgive her.

Viveca had just been greeted by Sin when she felt a strange and sudden change. She quickly crossed her arms in front of her chest. Where had all her support gone?!? Her beautiful, comfortable SUPPORTIVE corset had been replaced with a strange, sweetheart topped gown. Upon further inspection, to her horror, from her waist to her knees, her legs were practically bound together, then it poofed out. How the JACK was she supposed to run in this getup?? And to add to the horror, a draped shawl ran from one arm to the other. She couldn't decided if the cut was worse, or the fact that she was now in the softest color of baby pink ever.

This Winters woman was pure evil.

Her interest perked up, as she was told to go fishing. Maybe she could get some nice fish blood stains on this horrific pink. She managed to baby step her way over to the poles and cast a line.

After a bit of time, she felt a nibble. With some difficulty in the gown, she reeled in what she thought was a decent sized fish, making sure it hit the side of her gown as she pulled it in and held it up.

Just as Aksaja turned to show off his rather large (HUGE) fish to the others, there was an odd movement out of the corner of his eye. Blinking, he turned a bit more to see Shine toppled over on the ground. Oh dear. Dropping his fish onto the deck where it couldn't flop back over the side or something, the lightning dragon moved over toward the fallen ghoul.

"Hey, you okay?" he asked, extending a hand down toward her.

GM POST DAY ONE

Winter had made her way down to the main deck, and was standing with Cloak. She offered the ToT'er a glass that looked suspiciously like a martini glass, before taking a sip from her own, matching glass. Gold eyes trained over the students, an eyebrow only raising slightly to the sight of them fishing in evening wear. She disregarded Mei's alternations, for now. That would be dealt with later.

For now it was just a matter of getting through the first night. "I see you are keeping them busy at least. That's good. Hopefully they'll stay out of our hair for the most part." the professor offered to her ship's guide.

Before Cloak could answer, Xypher appeared behind the pair, causing the professor to give a slight jolt. Her hand threw over to the wall, and she felt... something, give underneath it.

Oh dear...

A loud wailing alarm went off, and a hatch opened up in front of Vaith, sending the poor child tumbling off the ship.

"..."

Well, that was going to be an issue... Winter waved her hand and sent Xypher off to find one of the small lifeboats.

Event

Winter opened an emergency hatch on the yacht, and Vaith has fallen into the water. Sadly, retrieving him adds two days to the trip, and subtracts 25 food.
