She gave him a teasing grin. "Oooh, so it's like a secret!" She found herself walking a little closer to him without even thinking about it. "I guess I have to feel special, then."
It didn't take long for them to reach the park. Just as they did so, her stomach started to rumble, and she looked around for the sandwich shop. "Does the little lunch place you mentioned make sandwiches to go? It's such a nice day, I'd love to go eat out on the grass."

"I guess you could say that, yeah," Lucius agreed, nodding. He really wanted to tell her that she was special, but that, he imagined, might come across a bit creepy this early on.
He had to try not to laugh when he heard her stomach rumble. "Yeah, they do," he said, taking her paw and leading her to the shop, nestled neatly among some trees so it didn't stand out all that much. "Like a picnic, then? Sounds wonderful."

"Oh, yes, just like a picnic! I haven't had a picnic in so long... not since I was a little kid, I think." Rysa grinned and squeezed his paw, following him into the sandwich shop. She started to look over their selection of premade sandwiches, so excited she didn't want to wait for them to make something custom. "Oooh, and they have drinks and chips, too! Everything we need." She giggled, reluctantly letting go of his paw to start grabbing things and putting them on the counter.

Lucius nodded. "I've had a few, Mom likes to set them up." He said. "They never seem to go quite as she plans, though," he shook his head, smiling a bit. He flushed just a bit as she squeezed his paw, but gleefully led her into the little shop. He stood back for a bit as she made selections, smiling the whole time. 'Gosh, she's cute,' he thought.

Soon she had a nice pile of things on the counter, probably more than they needed. She'd even grabbed a pack of cookies; they might be getting ice cream afterwards, but she still didn't want to forget a dessert! She paid for it all before he could stop her, and after the shop clerk bagged it all, she took his paw again. "Any particular spot you'd like to eat?"

Lucius was rather surprised by the amount of food she took, pleasantly so. There would certainly e plenty for both of them! "Let me-" he started, but she had paid for it before he could stop her. He sighed, then perked up a bit. "No, I'll let you pick; there are lots of nice spots here I couldn't decide myself!"

"Oh, but you know the park better! Are there any quiet out-of-the-way places? Maybe with lots of flowers?" she asked, letting him take the bag of food as they started walking along the path. She kept her eye out for a good place to sit down, but she was hungry, so finding a spot quickly was more important than finding just the right spot.

"That's true," Lucius agreed, looking around and trying to remember if there were any spots like te one she described. "Oh, I think I know a great place." He said, reaching over tot ake her hand so he could guide her to it. It was a bit off the main path, but not so far as to be inaccessible, and while he hadn't seen flowers, there was a beautiful old tree that would be both a source of shade and nice to look at.

Rysa was a little surprised to feel herself blushing when he took her hand, but luckily he was watching where they were going and not watching her. She was quite happy to let him lead the way, since he knew the park better than she did. When they came up on the little clearing, she let out a pleased, "Oh!" Clearly this had to be the place he was thinking of, and it was just perfect.

Even after they stopped, Lucius kept his hand in hers. "So you like it?" He asked, feeling a bit nervous. She had sounded happy, but...well, he really was anxious to really have her enjoy this...date? It was his first in any case, and he definitely didn't want it to flop!
