Seeming a bit more confident as they went on, the cat half-mumbled the words, still mimicking the other child's motions. He nodded at the prospect of putting things all together, holding his hands up and starting the hand game. His ears were fully perked now- a good sign for certain and almost as good as verbal approval, if one knew anything about cats. And though his eyes still held distinct traces of uneasiness, the combination of a safe 'fort', nonthreatening companionship, and simple games that he could easily keep up with melted together to assure him comfort and happiness...even despite the lack of he beloved blue blankey (the likes of which had been abandoned in the dressing room during his flight).

To be honest, he really enjoyed hiding with Sonja as well.

Stephen...well, he managed calmness because that was how he was. Worrying never solved your problems and...just caused more in the long run, to be honest. If he could just keep cool, he could hunt more efficiently, remember where he looked with better recall. But under his cool exterior, the familiar uneasiness from earlier wormed it's way around. He was nervous not just because the company would tan his hide, but because...well, he was already starting to think of Luka as his own. And any parent worth their salt- adoptive or not- couldn't help but worry when this happened. Even if logically, you knew the kid hadn't gone far. It was just human nature.

Fortunately, he didn't have to agonize over the nature of things too long. As he peered into another display he stopped dead...noticing too rather happy children patting hands. He supposed he should have gasped or called out or did something given the wash of feelings that beset him but...he was just speechless with relief in the end. Even after his mind worked back to registering, he took a small, quiet step back and silently gestured to Ara, hoping that she'd turn and notice him, making a sort of 'hush-hush' gesture. It was so rare that Luka played well with others, being so fearful. It was something else to see him looking so at ease and enjoying himself so much...

Sonja was content, it was nice to play quietly. While Ryan was fun and loud, she also liked to just sit and take something a part. Luka was catching on fast and so the game picked up a bit, she was also getting a bit silly exaggerating movements and making funny faces to go along with the motions. She wanted to make Luka giggle, like she was.

Catching Stephens motion for her to come over and to be quiet caused her hope to soar. Why else would he want her to be quiet, they were probably asleep and she had just not heard them. Coming over she looked where he was peeking into a rack of clothes she saw one of the cutest things she had ever seen since seeing a one year old dressed up like a cabbit. "Awwwww," She whispered. "She is in so much trouble when this is over but, I think we can let them play a little longer. Don't you think? Could you watch them while I go tell the store manager that we found them?"

Luka's activities were often quiet ones. He liked to watch TV, he liked to look at books (he couldn't read well but the pictures pleased him), and he liked to play the old game system that Mr. Stephen had set up for him. It wasn't that he was lazy, per se- well, okay, maybe a little...it was a cat thing- it was just that very active things required a degree of coordination. Unfortunately, Luka was a bit on the clumsy side. He had moments where he could flee like the best of them or scramble up a bookshelf, but for the most part...his coordination wasn't top of his game.

Playing and running wasn't fun when you fell over a lot. That fact lead the cat to believe that sitting-down games were the best. So he was quite content now to laugh and play with Sonja, giggling at her faces and excitedly bouncing as he patted hands with her.

Stephen nodded to Ara. "I think I can manage. It's nice to see Luka so comfortable playing with another child." he said happily.

Luka...just didn't seem like he bonded well with others, often playing alone or hiding. He was shy too, and kids often lost interest in a playmate like that at this age. There were only a scant few that Luka branched out and played with despite his shyness, so to see him happy and at ease like this, playing like a normal kid...it was uplifting. He almost didn't want to have to break them up...but he supposed he couldn't let his son sit around in a clothing display in his underwear all day.

Still...it was nice while it lasted. It gave him hope that the boy would eventually come out more and more as he grew. Kleinfelter's was a challenge, true, but not insurmountable and expirience like this only reinforced that thought.

With a yawn Sonja kept the game up with a big grin she had missed her nap earlier and was beginning to feel it. Not wanting the game to end she tried to keep up but the game was slowing down slightly.

Considering the manager was just happy that the story had a happy ending even admitting that it wasn't the first time that children had climbed inside the racks, sighing he said that it probably should have been the first place they look but he hadn't thought of it. After wishing her well, Ara wandered back over to Stephen. "We're good, the manager was just glad we found them. Let me give you my number, we should keep in touch maybe get together with the kids?"

Luka gave a yawn as well, little ears flicking back as he did so. It wasn't that he'd missed his nap...it was just that, true to his animal origin, he could easily sleep all day if allowed. Stephen was trying to get the boy on a more regular sleep cycle, though...but it was a work in progress and the boy hadn't fully adapted to being awake all day and asleep all night.

"Sleepy." he finally stated in a mumble, scrubbing his eyes.

Stephen nodded in response to Ara's remark. "Ah, that sounds wonderful. Luka could always use more friend. He's...not very social and doesn't get on too well with other kids. They...scare him, I think. It's good to see him playing so happily...I think it would be good for them to meet again." he said happily, fishing his cell phone out and bringing up the number entry screen to key in what she gave him. "If you have paper or a phone, I can likewise give you mine. It's rare I find someone in charge of a child that's like Luka..." He really ought to pester D-Corp for more names of parents- Luka seemed to hit it off better with other D-Corpers, it seemed.

A mumbled noise of agreement was all Sonja managed to get out before her eyelids betrayed her and closed completely they were so hard to keep open. As she started to fall asleep she was unconsciously leaning forwards only to end up curling up in the small comforting space.

Ara smiled in understanding, Sonja had had her fair share of teasing but at least she had her d-corp friends. She couldn't imagine what it must be like for the adorable cat boy. "Sure I have my phone here, ready? My number is 609 555-****. Feel free to call anytime, I have a very flexible schedule so we can meet up whenever." A glance at the children told her that it was time to collect her little fuzz muffin and head home, seems attempting to scare your mother to death had worn Sonja out. "Looks like our little escapees are down for the count shall we say our goodbyes then?

He yawned and curled up on top of her, content to nap right here, right in his underwear, right on top of another person. He had no inkling that this might be even the slightest bit strange.

He keyed the number into his phone, offering his thereafter. Once the numbers had been exchanged, he smiled. "Alright, I'll remember that. I work as a Genetic Counselor so I'm a bit more busy, but I have a few days off a week and my workplace is usually pretty flexible about scheduling." he said positively.

He laughed at the state of the two children, moving some clothing aside and reaching in to collect his kitten. Luka stirred a bit, not being fully asleep, but he seemed sleepy enough to resist fighting. He draped a small blue blankey- the kitten's favorite- over Luka, deciding he'd hassle with dressing the boy once he got him to the car.

"Ah yes...all that running and hiding must have wiped them out." he chuckled. "It was nice to meet you, Miss Ara, and always nice to see Luka making new friends. You have a wonderful day, and I'll most certainly stay in touch."

With a soft aw Ara collected her own kidlet, balancing her on her shoulder before rearranging her for both their comforts. "You keep a close eye on your kitten, I'll try with this one. It was nice meeting you even in these unusual circumstances, Bye."

With that Ara went to leave the store but not before spying and purchasing the frilliest dress she could find. With an evil chuckle, Ara just smirked as she juggle a unconscious kid and the bag, maybe next time Sonja would stick around to help pick out her own clothes and not run off. Then she wouldn't be stuck having to wear what Ara picked out.
