Prometheus wasn't sure what Windstorm had said to her father, but it didn't seem to be going in his favor. He felt like shuffling from hoof-to-hoof as if he were some adolescent caught disobeying his parents, but he held the action. However, it didn't stop him from looking worried.
He looked the older stallion straight in the eye. "Sir, I ask your blessing for your daughter to remain at my side." It was as formal as he could make his request when inside he was screaming that she'd stop hiding behind her father and show her support. His eyes flickered momentarily onto her in thought.

Wild Wind continued to look over the younger stallion, purposely dragging out his approval much like he suspected his ex-father-in-law had done with him. He gave a casual flick of his wing to Windstorm and she obediently went to her father's side so he could stretch it across her back to show his protection openly.
"You seek my blessing after the fact," he asked with a raised eyebrow. He wasn't about to let him forget what had happened, even though he was quite aware it took two. He frowned sharply at his daughter and finally settled his gaze back on Prometheus.

He felt a small flare of jealousy when the mare moved to stand next to her father. It was an odd experience for him, jealousy. He still wanted her at his side, under his wing. But she wasn't his until her father conceded.
"Yes, sir. She is already very dear to my heart. You already know I have my own dwelling safe from attack as well as a few choice fruit trees and some grazing grounds. She would be well protected in my care."

The paint heaved a very heavy sigh. "I wish it was within my power to lifemate you here and now, but only her grandfather could condone such an act. You have my blessing, stallion, and in my heart and mind I see the two of you as lifemated."
He looked down to his daughter with warmth in his bicolored eyes and placed his muzzle between her ears. "I could not have asked for a better, more capable stallion to care for you," he whispered. He bent over his wing and pulled a feather loose, tucking it securely to his daughter's mane.
She stretched out one of her own wings and repeated her father's action. She carefully placed it in Wild Wind's own mane. "A wind always knows where their feathers are." She looked up at her father with misty eyes as she took her place by Prometheus's side, feeling his wing stretch over her back.

Prometheus wasn't certain about the feather exchange. Was it true that if a Wind lost a feather he could find them again? It didn't seem possible, but then he noticed the slight spot of blood on the ends of both of them. It sounded very mythical as he stared at the feather in his mate's mane.
"Thank you. You are always welcome to hide out at my home. Erm… I guess you just have to follow your feather." He was truly a skeptic in the belief that feathers were tied to his senses.

The older stallion could see the uncertainty clearly on his son-in-law's face and could only chuckle and give a shake of his head. "Thank you. I may visit soon to make sure my daughter is properly cared for, the usual fatherly duties," he said with a smirk.
"Omani'ceta, the sun is up, so I think it is time for us to continue our journey alone. I'm certain the newly lifemated would like to return to their home."
The falcon flew over to perch on Wild Wind's shoulder. She turned her head sideways as she looked at her bonded's daughter. "Watch out for yourself, youngling." She wasn't sure if she liked the white stallion at all. Some of the things he said didn't seem to hold much water or venom as when the two pinfeathers would talk.
As the two walked away from the young couple, Windstorm took the time to hide her misty eyes away from her mate by pretending to scratch her nose on a foreleg. She had never imagined leaving her father, leaving the herd to live with another. It had never entered her mind just a few simple weeks ago. This was a new experience for her and she was fearful.
"Well, shall we go home, love?"

He noticed the darken fur around her eyes and frowned. "Crying for what you're leaving behind or crying for what's ahead?" He honestly didn't want an answer, so gave his head a shake as he turned himself the opposite direction as the male and bird went. "No sense in crying. We should do what your father suggested and make our way home. Come on. I can show you the land before nightfall if you're done blubbering."
And with that he took to the sky, not giving her a chance to let her temper rise with snippy retorts.
