The Porygon proceeded through the halls quietly, coming to a halt at the end of one and nodding its flat head down the corridor. Halfway down the hall, Lucas stood with a very blue Eevee in his hands, staring at it with a furrowed brow.

"What the hell?" he repeated, raising the thing slightly to better inspect it. "Do Eevee breed in the vents or something? Jeez."

He was talking words - words she didn't understand, and when he lifted her up she squeaked and half-rolled over, paws and tail dangling in the air and wiggling slightly. What words was he saying? She didn't understand. "Vrff."

When she rounded the corner indicated, her eyebrows rose again. She'd heard Lucas' voice already, but to see he had Blue... Why did he have Blue? "Thanks," she murmured to the Porygon, her brows furrowed as she started walking towards the man. "Lucas, where'd you find her?" And more importantly, why had he found her pokemon when she couldn't? Oh well.

He continued frowning at the thing as it rolled around. What the hell? He turned slightly when he noticed approaching footsteps and a familiar voice. "What, is this yours?" He motioned towards the Eevee to indicate it. "It was in the air vents. Then it was on my face." His frown remained firmly in place, wavering even less when he noticed the Porygon that had stayed at the far end of the hall. "Droid, where have you been? You can't just run around."

Droid was less than impressed by the lecture.

Claire heaved a sigh as she stopped in front of Lucas, reaching out for the 'vee as she batted at the man's thumb. "Unfortunately.. Crap, here," she said suddenly as tiny teeth were suddenly bared, poised around her intended victim - his thumb - and quickly pulled the normal-type from his hands. "Trade you? I guess that one's yours. ...when did you get a Porygo-- ow," she exclaimed suddenly, yanking her hand away and shaking it slightly. Little teeth marks were present on the sides of her pointer finger, and she fixed the small 'vee with a glare. "Blue, no." The blue fluffball merely peered up at her with bright gold eyes, tilting her head cutely. "Vui?"

Lucas gratefully handed over the little Eevee when Claire reached for it. He wasn't particularly fond of the thing thus far, especially after the little display of its sharp teeth. When her question was interrupted by an interjection of vague pain, he reached to flick the 'vee's ear. "No biting, ya jerk," he chided before turning his attention to Droid, the Porygon remaining at a distance. "One of the techs gave it to me as an egg when I went in to work... That guy is what I got from it." 'That guy' continued to stare in mild indignation. "What about you? I thought you didn't want an Eevee?"

"I never said I didn't want one," she said as she replaced the hand around the 'vee as she started squirming, not wanting to drop her. If she dropped her, she might never find the thing again... Which, on second thought, might not be too bad. "I said I wasn't going to keep Lis, I wanted you to have her. This one," 'this one' being the blue menace who was currently gnawing happily on her thumb, "I got from Hayes. He's in the tech department, too," she added with a growing frown. That was.. quite the coincidence. "Called her Bluetooth, so that's all she'll answer to. She just hatched recently too, and he wanted to get rid of her as soon as possible, which is--ow," she finished again, glaring at the offending fluffball before shifting her little 'vee to hold her firmly by the scruff where she couldn't reach anything to bite. The little fluffy thing was visibly distressed by this development. There were things she needed to chew!

"Oh, Hayes, huh? I've heard the name." Some laid-back guy who was apparently unfazed by Seth's usual fits of anger or something. From what Lucas had gathered, they worked in different divisions, explaining why that had never had the opportunity to meet. He and Claire had never met in Galactic, after all, even with the both of them working in surveillance. He continued to frown. "Maybe get it a chew toy or something. Something that doesn't bleed when you bite it, at least." On the topic of nuisances, "Dammit, Droid, get over here! I don't feel like dealing with this today!" Without waiting to see if the Porygon would comply, he moved towards it, raising a pokeball and initiating the return feature. The suddenness of his movements caught Droid off-guard, and he was recalled with little struggle.

"I've been planning to," she said with a sigh, watching the blue fluffball squirm around with a rueful look. "I haven't had the time to lately." She watched the Porygon return to its ball, studying it for the last few seconds. Could... No, they couldn't be related. It would be too much of a coincidence.

His words tugged her back to reality, though, and she focused on Lucas again, eyebrows raising slightly. "Are you alright? You seem sort of... frustrated, I guess," she finished with a shrug. He certainly did seem sort of.. on edge at the moment. The last time she saw him -- well, she didn't really want to think about the last time she saw him, but he wasn't in a good mood then either.

Lucas was too tired to make a similar connection, and he returned the now occupied pokeball to the other four with a sigh. He'd need to do something about that stupid Porygon before it got him in trouble...

"What?" Frustrated? That was... perhaps more accurate than he initially thought, though he wasn't frustrated at any of the usual sources of frustration. "Well, my pokemon just sent me running through HQ for no reason, and an Eevee jumped on my face. Not the best day of my life, no." Ah, but he was snapping at her again, just like before. She hadn't done anything wrong, and certainly nothing worthy of being snapped at. "...Sorry. Just tired."

Claire was tired as well, but it was more the sort of tired in regards to dealing with obnoxious pokemon, instead of the lack of sleep sort of tired. Speaking of... She pulled a ball from her belt and returned the wriggling 'vee with a flash of red, then clipped the ball back to her belt with a sigh. She really needed to get some toys for her, but... she couldn't help the feeling that they probably wouldn't help much, if at all. The adorable menace seemed to adore chewing on anything and everything for whatever reasons she had in that little head of hers.

"It's alright," she said with a sigh as she leaned her back against the wall, her gaze drifting to the floor as she thought. "Tired? Are you not sleeping well or something?" Violet eyes focused on him again as she thought about it. Last time she saw him, he'd discovered a very depressing fact about himself. Was it still bothering him to the point of affecting the amount of sleep he was getting?

Her question elicited a brief laugh, slightly bitter, as if implying that she had no idea the depth of the truth in her words. His worded reply, however, was far less sarcastic, "Yeah, I guess. Though the Porygon's not really doing me any favors either." Well, that was a lie. The Porygon was doing him favors, expediting his ability to design and produce guns exponentially. But the thing grew bored horribly quickly and seemed to have a penchant for making lives miserable. Great.

His initial reaction elicited a concerned look from the young woman, brows furrowed as a frown formed on her face. "Sorry," she said with a small sigh. She was referring to Blue again, her mind having expanded on the thought of pokemon causing problems - or perhaps just commenting on something they'd already passed. Whatever.

A hand reached up to run her slim fingers through her hair. "What's bothering you, Lucas? It's not just the Porygon, so what is it?" Obviously something was - the addition of the pokemon at the end of the statement seemed to further this idea. Crap, he hadn't remembered anything else, had he? She certainly hoped not.. Well, hoped it wasn't anything bad, at any rate. Good things were alright.

He regarded her with a somewhat dubious glance, a realization clicking into place. "You do this a lot, don't you?" he observed. "Find a thing you want to know and pick at it until I give." She was pretty damned good at it, too, much to Lucas's chagrin. All that meant was that it was useless to try and dodge the issue and he might as well indulge her. He breathed a deep sigh, leaning against the opposite wall with already dim eyes darkening further. "Uh, well... I used to have a partner, a guy called Morrison. He was my best friend. One day he just kind of... disappeared." The forced tone of voice and conflicted expression betrayed something deeper to the story, though Claire knew the exact depth better than Lucas himself did. "I've just... been dreaming about Morrison a lot. I haven't dreamed about him in a few years so..."
PostPosted: Mon Feb 21, 2011 9:59 pm

"I suppose I do," she said with a half-smile to his first comments. Damn right she was good at it, and thankfully he wasn't going to try and... Crap, it was something bad, and not only just bad, it was the absolute worst thing. Crap crap crap... oh. Just dreams? Well that was.. that was sort of not too bad, she supposed.. Wait, was he dreaming about when he killed him? s**t, it was bad. Crap...

Well, maybe not too bad quite yet..

Her fingers clutched a large section of hair at the back of her head, lightly tugging the locks in the front, as she tried to figure out how to respond to this. "Why did he disappear?" She asked slowly, guarding her tone and expression to try and make sure they wouldn't give anything away like Lucas clearly was at that moment. "What sort of dreams are they?"

"Ah, well, I mean..." Classic nervous fumbling, brought to you by Lucas. "I dunno for sure... Rumor kicked up that uh... that I killed him myself. I sort of believed it for a while, but..." He reached up a hand to rub at the back of his neck. "I think... I think he's all right. He was probably better than me at-- at what we did." Claire knew what it was that he did, and there was no need to bring that up again. "He got away. I'm sure of it."

At mention of the nature of the dreams, however, his resolve in this belief visibly wavered. "Well... To put it bluntly, they're nightmares. A lot like the ones I used to have back when he-- I mean, back when Morrison first disappeared." Vicious, graphic dreams laced with malice and sorrow. He was very close to seeing what Merry's Dream Eater could do for him.
