Arden felt his heart thump loudly in his chest. It felt like waves crashing against rocks, like thunder rolling in the sky. She felt something too. "I've never felt this way before," he said it honestly. "I thought it all was a lie...a fairytale."

He watched the soft blush of her face, the way her eyes lowered and his heart fluttered more. What fate had brought this to be? What kind of world brought a storm from without to within? What caused a storm in your heart?

He leaned close and nuzzled her face. "I never thought this...I never thought I'd feel this. I never thought these feelings would be real," he breathed out slowly.

His words were heavy, filled to the brim with emotion. He was obviously feeling some intense emotions, she was too, her heart was all set a flutter by his tone and his interaction. She received the nuzzle slowly, savoring the touches provided by the stallion. Nokomis found herself thinking about her life before him. Though she could not truly feel lonely, she realized how alone she had been. It explained why the emotions were so hard to feel all at once.

"I didn't know these feelings existed.." Pure and simple, what she felt for the forests, the grass.. the skies above were ten fold for Arden. She had never loved someone more than her surroundings before. It was a trifle frightening and she didn't quite know how to handle it.

"What do we do from here?" The words trickled out, suddenly making the elegant, wise character seem like a small filly, held captive in her own heart with no idea where to turn. Arden was speaking in what seemed like riddles as her mind rose and fell with understanding. Where could this go? She hadn't considered a family, a life outside of anything else. Thoughts poured in and she found herself burying her nose in his pelt to calm it all down.

Arden listened to her words, glad that she felt the same. It was so odd to feel so much at once that he hadn't even known he was capable of feeling. "We should ride out the storm, see what happens."

He meant that both figuratively and literally. "We should see if this works, see where it takes us or else we might regret it for the rest or our lives. Don't you think?" It made sense. They'd always be wondering if they walked away from this. It would be best to find it out, to figure this out intstead of forever wondering.

He nestled closer to her, seeing what she would say.

His words were soft, quiet and his body was relaxed and a reliable leaning post. Nokomis, for the first time in her life felt like her legs had become weak. The comfort she felt here was unbelievable, he was her wall, the one thing she could rely on. She felt like she could easily trust in him and whether he had stated them sticking it out together or not, she would have. It felt only right, only natural!

A clap of thunder and a final bright clip of lightning spread across the sky, as the two stayed together. The silence took over...

-----------
Bad weather, cuddly horses and a night they'll never forget!
-----------

Waddle, waddle, waddle! There was literally a change in how she walked, not having been paying much attention to what her body was trying to tell her in small ways she was blatantly ignorant. Her and Arden hadn't really left eachothers sides since that faithful evening. She couldn't remember, tried once, but simply could not.

Eat, sleep and grew, that's all they did and that was no exception to now. "Look at the forest.." She stated simply, it was absolutely stunning, the day was young and there had been a light sprinkle of rain. With the little droplets dancing their way from leaf to leaf before reaching the ground, the sun bouncing off of them? It made the forest sparkle with the radiance of good old nature. This was a dance she had grown accustomed to, it made her heart sway with joy.

"Isn't it radiant?" She questioned her recently acquired partner. He himself was radiant, bright colors of the forest had reached out to him it seems, creating his unique pelt, seeming at the time, like it was for her eyes only.

Arden was gathering herbs, spices, and all manners of remedies as he walked with Nokomis. He wiped off his nose after picking up some mint leaves and nudged her neck affectionately, "You're what's radiant."

It was true. More and more she seemed to glow. She seemed so blissfully happy, so unaware of anything but their own joy. He loved to look at her with a smile on her face--even when she was sleeping. She seemed to shine brighter than the sun, and her cheeks were rosy with warmth.

They'd been together awhile now. Their paths were together, and he loved that they were intertwined. He enjoyed her company, and more and more he believed that what he had thought was not possible was actually happening.

He loved her.

A blush formed on her cheeks, a deep pink, nearly the color to match her wings. Nokomis felt herself be pulled into a voluntarily huge smile and she nuzzled right back at him. Arden had continued doing his work, perhaps one thing she was certainly fond of. He was gentle, kind and worked very hard. Though there wasn't to much demand for herbs at the time he was very much prepared.

One, two.. flutter. She paused her steps when the funny feeling seemed to float through her abdomen. It was a bizarre feeling, that's for sure. The near surprise she was only slightly aware of certainly began to show itself bit by bit. She was all smiles at this point and when she felt it again she wondered. "Arden, come here a moment..." She motioned for him to come to his side and nose her belly.

She waited, hoping the little active flutter she felt would be something he could feel aswell. Though for all Nokomis knew, it was simply in her head.

Arden watched as the smile blossomed over her face, as if she had some joyful secret that only the blessed knew of. When she called him to her, he turned back to her. In confusion, he pressed his nose to her side. For a moment, nothing happened--which was what he expected. Suddenly there was a tiny little wobble that moved underneath his nose.

Jumping back with alarm, Arden looked at her side in shock then back to her face, and then back to her side again. "You...." He looked at her with eyes wide open and his heart thudding in his ears, waiting for her to finish his sentence.

The blush would not fade from her cheeks, she was way to excited. Her eyes softened as he pressed his nose against her belly. At first the movement she felt at first took a stand still, almost a temporary nap then sprung into life once more. Nokomis felt it all, from beginning to end, though only a rippling touch the surface.

"Arden..." She whispered, a tender and gentle wing slid down to protec her side where he had been pressing his nose. "I am pregnant." She wanted to jump for joy, scream and shout! What could have been better than this!? She awaited his approval, but she could feel the excitement bubbling through her veins. This was it, her purpose in life was being completed. Mother Nature was finally bringing littles bundles of joy into the world.

"Oh Arden.. we will be parents!" She chanted this and didn't hesitate to bury her nose in his neck. She just couldn't contain herself.

Arden felt kind of faint...a weird kind of heady feeling in his head that didn't make sense as the words swirled around tried to make sense. He couldn't comprehend it. He'd never thought...of being a ...father of...anything...

After the failure of trying to raise Acacia, who had gone off months ago and refused to speak to him since...his heart was still breaking. And now...children of his own? It seemed almost impossible, almost too much to think about it...

But maybe this was a second chance? A way to make up for the errors he'd made with Acacia. Children of his own...parents...babies with his beautiful Nokomis...

"Really?" It was the only words that seemed to escape, the only words he could process. "Us?" Oh boy, did he feel lightheaded.

That playful pale pelt of his let free a look of flour colored skin. He was near ready to faint it seemed! A flicker of worry flit through her eyes as she watched him closely, her heart was racing excitedly! Simply what could have been better, she would never know.

"Come, lean against this tree Arden.." She brushed by him, in a swift movement helping him to a leaning place. "Everything will be alright, I'm sure of it!" She wouldn't know now, but she would be eating these words later.

"Are you alright?" She whispered, a tender voice coming back into play, he was obviously completely in shock. She hadn't really expected it either, but it was a gift to her, was it not a gift to him?

She became worried once more, but for another reason.. She fought to keep a saddened gleam from her eyes, but it was hopeless, it sang true in her eyes. The question still stood in her mind, was she the only one happy?

Arden felt stunned, too stunned to reply at first as she lead him to the tree. His legs felt weak as he leaned there. He was going to be a dad. A dad!

He'd mucked it up the first time and that wasn't even his kid, just a foal he had raised like a daughter. Now, she wasn't even talking to him. What if he did it again? What if Nokomis or the foals wound up hating him and never speaking to him again?

He took a deep breath, trying to clear the worry from his mind. As his eyes came up, he saw the anxiety in Nokomis face. "What's wrong?" He asked, completely oblivious of what she was thinking. He paused, "Are you scared I'm going to mess this up to?" The words poured from his lips honestly.
