Entry 13
Master Craig is staying with us. It turns out that he has come to do more than instruct me in swordsmanship. He is to tutor us as well. I am rather excited for the chance to expand my knowledge through more formal studies.
The next morning after my first sword practice with him Berry got us all out of bed early and had us assemble in the library. A table with a whiteboard had been set up in one of the alcoves. I sat down at the end of the table nearest where Master Craig was standing. Elliotte sat as far to the other end as he could. Berry sat holding Arabelle somewhere in the middle. I think she wanted to make sure little Ara would settle enough to actually learn this first day.
The first thing we did was take a test to decide at what level we were at. Ara didn't have to because she was to start at the beginning. I feel that I did quite well myself. After that Master Craig lined up a curriculum that he felt would benefit all of us in general studies. Then he came separately to each of us to assign individual studies.
After spending the entire first part of the day in the library we were allowed to go eat lunch.I expect after lunch it is back to my swords lessons. I am looking forward to it.

Entry 14
I am tired now. However I am too excited to sleep until I write this down. Today after my morning lessons and afternoon sword practice Berry took me out to the outer stable alone with her. I was a little confused and it just grew more confusing when I saw that Myst had been moved out here. She wasn't the only one at least. It seems Berry has moved a few select horses out there for some reason.
Upon seeing my confusion Berry just smiled and I must admit I was a bit flustered. We stood in front of Myst's stall facing each other. Her with a very serious face. I was about to ask what we were doing when she held up a hand and started speaking. "I know you're a bit confused," she began, "But I've decided that you have gotten to be good enough in the saddle that you will be allowed to ride with me on the trail."
I was so excited by the prospect that I hugged her. She told me to tack up Myst and meet her out by the mounting block. I hurried through the motions but was careful to pay attention to every detail. I didn't want her changing her mind. When I got out there she was already waiting on top of Sam. She had chosen to ride bareback today. She had started to let me learn to do that around the castle yard.
We headed out across the fields and into the border of the forest. It was a very nice day for a ride and I am happy to know that she has that much faith in me. However I am tired now and heading to bed. I have lessons early in the morning after all.

Entry 19
I'm not quite sure what I'm going to do with that boy. Yes, the silly one whose journal I'm writing in. He gave us all quite the scare at breakfast this morning. We all had fallen into bed last night tired as could be. Then this morning while we were all gathered around the table in our bleary eyed morningness we all realized that London was late. As this was very unusual for him I started to worry.
I politely told everyone that they didn't need to wait on me and rushed upstairs to his room. I knocked on the door and when he told me to come in I opened it. What I saw on the other side made my mouth drop open. He had grown overnight! It took me a second to realize he was a bit pink with embarrassment. He had outgrown his clothes and was trying to retain a bit of decency with a blanket. I told him to wait and that I had an idea.
I rushed down to the rooms Craig was staying in and borrowed a Yukata. Without asking of course but I figured he wouldn't mind. It fit London well and then I informed him I was taking him to town to go clothes shopping. He seemed a bit overwhelmed but agreed to meet me at the car. So I went and let everyone know we were leaving and would be back later.
We made the drive to town in relative silence however when we got close he shyly asked if he could choose where we shopped. I told him of course he could because he was the one who had to wear the clothes. He listed off a few names of some higher end shops that kind of surprised me but true to my word we stopped to see if he liked anything. He did indeed find several things that he liked and we then headed home. I left him in his room to change and snagged his journal for this entry. It should be exciting when he heads downstairs. I can't wait. Attached is a pic of his fave find from our shopping trip.

Entry 21
I got a surprise yesterday. Ry came to visit mum and brought Syl with him. She has Grown too! But something's wrong. She's not nearly the same as she was before. She's . . .quiet . . .and frightened. Not inquisitive and bright. I didn't let her know that I was too concerned because I didn't want to scare her away. So instead I hugged her. When she seemed comfortable with me I offered to introduce her to a friend of mine.
She agreed so I took her to the stables and let her meet Magic. He seemed to help her. She brushed him and even sat on him for a bit. Almost right after that she had to leave though. I was still glad for her visit. I hope she can come back soon.

I'm terribly excited. Sylphae will be staying with us for a while. Elliotte was the first one to find her when she got here though. Apparently they talked or something. After I greeted her we went straight to the stables. I was able to talk her into a ride and we went out double on Magic. It was an amazing experience. She started to gain a little confidence and even rode on her own for a bit.
When we got back I put Magic away for us. I invited her to watch my chores but she declined. As she was heading in, the most wonderful thing happened. She talked to me! Oh, I thought I was going to swoon for a moment there. I rushed through my chores anticipating seeing her at dinner. I wasn't disappointed however everyone was so tired that it was a dull quiet meal.
I still cannot believe she spoke to me!

I know I have not written in quite some time but life has become quiet around the castle.Now that both Elliotte and Arabelle have left for the city Berry spends a lot of her time out riding with Master Craig. I do of course still continue my lessons with him. But they are just a small portion of the day. My time is all neatly divided every day now. Practice. Chores. Spending time with Syl. Online Schooling. Chores. Sleep. Start over again. Syl is the only light in this gray routine that has become my life. It is the only part of my day when I do not know exactly how it is going to go. Every day she has some new idea. Some wild. Some very casual and relaxing.
We ourselves spend a lot of time out with the horses. With her I've done much exploring of the lands surrounding the castle. Discovered some of the little secret coves and hidden places. the more I see of this place with her the more magical it becomes. Which I know is an odd thing for a being of Dreams and Magic such as myself to say.But magical or not. Syl or not. This place that I love so much is starting to feel confining.

Entry 24
Berry took Sylphae on a trip to the city today. And Master Craig has gone to visit his Charlie. The castle is so quiet when it is empty. Normally the quiet is soothing to me but for some reason I cannot settle today. I tried reading but my mind would continuously wander and I would find myself wondering how Arabelle is doing. Even occasionally wondering about Elliotte. though I can't imagine why. So I gave up on that and went out to the stables. All that did was provoke thoughts of Elliotte's abandoned loft. And all the things I had been teaching Syl over the last while. Even the familiar warmth of the horses couldn't chase away the ghosts there.
So that is how I found myself wandering the halls. And in this castle there are a lot of halls to wander. I went in and out of rooms looking for something interesting. But I have been through them all far too many times already. I went down into where the old dungeons had been. Apparently Elliotte had claimed some space down there at some point as his stuff was everywhere. But it was all kind of sad in a way. Forgotten clothes tossed over a silent stereo. Posters whose corners had started to peel off the stone walls and were barely clinging on. A knocked over glass that had at one point contained some sort of blue liquid. Probably kool aid. It was all very depressing. there was even a pile of mussed blankets in a corner that looked as though someone had crawled out of them and never came back. I couldn't stand the abandoned feeling so I went back up the steps to continue my aimless wandering.
Before I knew it I had found myself at the top of the steps leading up a tower. Before me was a door with a cheerful little sign on it that read 'Arabelle's Castle'. A little silly and sentimental but she had liked it. I watched as my hand reached out to push the door open even as my mind argued that she had been gone but days and it was wrong to invade her space. I stepped into the room leaving the door open behind me. This space was the opposite of the other. Everything was clean and in its proper place. The curtains on the windows had been left drawn back, allowing sunlight to stream in. Rainbows refracted through the hundreds of crystals hanging from the ceiling casting the room in a cheery atmosphere. I walked around the room looking at all the little treasure she had set out on shelves and couldn't help but notice the fine film of dust that had started to collect in even the few days of her absence. when I got to her chaise lounge I sat for a moment, running my hand over the pink fabric it had been upholstered in. On the foot was a neatly folded white blanket fro when she fell asleep here. I touched the beaded fringe on one of her throw pillows. Though it was neater, this room was just as abandoned.
I got up and left the room making sure that I had disturbed nothing and closing the door behind me. Maybe the emptiness was only bothering me because I wasn't used to being left completely alone. Before there had always been someone else somewhere on the grounds. But even now, I feel lonely. I wonder how long till Berry and Syl return?

When Berry and Sylphae arrived home that night I had a large dinner waiting for them. they were both pleasantly surprised but Berry wouldn't stop frowning at me. It wasn't a bad frown. Just the one she wears when she's thinking. After we were done cleaning up dinner she asked me to come to her room for a bit, politely excusing us from Syl. I followed her through the halls in silence wondering what it was she had sensed from me. When we finally reached her rooms she held the door open for me and waited until I was through to shut it behind us. Leaning on it she crossed her arms to study me.
I shifted uncomfortably for a moment before she smiled and moved to sit on the bed patting the space beside her. I sat next to her smoothing the fabric of my pants over my legs.
"You wanna tell me about it?" She broke the silence.
"I'm not sure what you're referring to." I hedged. She made a disgruntled noise of disbelief in her throat. I sighed. "Alright, fine. I miss them."
"Go on."
"I don't know." I ran a hand through my hair. "It just seems so empty without Elliotte choking up the air with his bad attitude. And Arabelle flitting around as a big ball of cheerful. I know that you and Syl and Master Craig are still here so I don't know why it bothers me. It just seems different i guess."
"Did you ever think about going to stay in the city with them for a while?"
"I couldn't possibly. I couldn't leave you all here."
"Of course you could. It wouldn't be forever. Just a visit if you wish." She patted my shoulder. "At least give it a try."
I thought over her words for a long minute before nodding consent. Or defeat. I'm not sure which. She smiled and chased me out of her room with a comment about packing. I guess she plans on taking me right away. As I meandered toward my own room I thought about how awkward it was going to be to show up on d**k's doorstep. I rubbed my forehead and pushed into my room and stood looking at my armoire. No better time to start packing than now.
