Levana thought about what HIkari had said for a moment but dismissed it. She didn't seem like she wanted to talk about it anyway,"Oh Im a second year" she said smiling wide. She looked over at Cosette. The Slytherin seemed to be like most and not really care for Gryffindors but all the same she wanted to try and make friendly with her. "Hello Cosette" she said with a kind smile,"I know we don't talk at all and we arn't friends but.." she stopped and tried to think up a compliment to give the girl. "I..I really like your dolls, they are gorgeous" she said after getting the idea. "My mother is teaching me to sew. If you ever need anything done on their dresses I'd be happy to do it for you" she offered.

Cosette remained confused. "Forgive my ignorance, but what is 'Jewish'?" she asked curiously.

She groaned inwardly when Levana sat down. Of all the Gryffindors who could have joined them, it had to be Charon's stalker...
"Nice to meet you," Cosette murmured, smiling politely. She fell quiet as the girl chattered, though she listened. Perhaps she could learn something useful? Though it was odd that there were three girls at the table...

She shooed away the thought. Surely the teachers wouldn't do such a thing...

Cosette was brought out of her thoughts when the Gryffindor spoke to her.
"Thank you...Perhaps I'll ask you about that sometime..." she murmured noncommittally. Of course, she wouldn't. She herself could sew well enough (her mother had made sure of that), as could her sister, and, of course, her mother. There would be no need to ask the Gryffindor girl...

"Hikari, do you have any advice on how to study for Defense Against the Dark Arts? With our constantly shifting teachers, we didn't really learn much last year, and I would like to catch up to where I should be..."

Levana sighed, her attempt to break through failed. It bothered her that the Slytherins were so adamant to ignore and treat Gryffindors horribly."Cosette...what is it about me, besides being a stupid Gryffindor that makes me so repulsive to you two?" she said in honest curiosity. No anger, no demanding tone. She just really wanted to know. "I am trying to be friendly but I can tell that you despise me. Just like Charon" she said looking straight at her with confidence but also with humility.

Moshe sighed deeply at Cosette's question. No surprise really, he doubted most people here knew what being Jewish was. "Judaism is a religion that some muggles follow. It can be rather complicated because there are many different groups." He hoped that explanation would be enough. If he needed to explain what a religion was he was not sure if he would be able to. As a new girl sat down he felt slightly ignored. Though she had seemed nice enough when she had first sat her sole concerned seemed to be towards Cosette, which kinda bothered him for some reason. Why it did he was not sure but there was not much he right there could do about it.

Cosette tilted her head slightly as Moshe explained. "I see... How interesting."

She turned to the Gryffindor inquisitively, her face wearing its mask of polite interest, as the other girl spoke. When Levana was finished, Cosette replied, "I don't despise you. Nor do I think you stupid. I am simply standing by my friends--surely a Gryffindor should understand that." She smiled prettily. "You are annoying one of my friends, following him everywhere despite his objections. It's only natural that I wish to support him, don't you agree?"

Her true feelings were completely hidden behind the facade of pleasantness and loyalty. Inwardly, she was pondering whether or not she should give her friends chocolate for Valentine's, or if that would simply raise unnecessary awkwardness.

Hikari coughed awkward. It was not hard to sense the rising tension coming from these but Cosette, Hikari had to admit, did a much a better controlling her emotions then Levana did. "Well then it seems that we four are going to be sitting here why don't we get some food?" Hikari picked up the menu that was before and smiled. It was a free for all, blanks left at what you wanted. Filling it out Hikari ordered fried rice, dim sum and sushi rolls. Despite knowing that she was in no way Asain Hikari still loved Asian cooking the most, she wondered if her choices were going to confuse Levana. Not that she cared, she was hungry first and foremost.

Levana sat for a moment a little stunned. "I...didn't think of it like that...Im so sorry.." Levana said now feeling horrible. Her eyes fixed themselves to the table top. This just wasn't her year. It seemed that she just was messing up at every turn. "Im not really hungry.."she said still looking at the table. "Sorry everyone.."

Cosette turned to Hikari with a smile. "A wonderful idea, Miss Spronken." She began to write down her requests as Levana responded to her point. Cosette shook her head inwardly at the girl's reaction; the girl was clearly an idiot. She only paused to say, "By the way, next time, before you start accusing me of judging you by your house, would you mind quieting your blond friend? It's a bit hypocritical to tell me how rude I'm being while you two are calling everyone in my house...what were the words she used? Ah, yes: 'arrogant, selfish and stupid.' We were only a few feet away, after all..."

Finishing her order, Cosette turned to Moshe with complete pleasantness, as though nothing had happened, and asked, "So how has your year been thus far?"

Levana felt hurt. Horribly hurt. Never in her life had she felt so ....unliked. She rose from her seat slowly. "Im sorry everyone but..I..think Im going to go back ..Im not..feeling well" she said with a nod to everyone, including Cosette then turned and slowly left the room.

Moshe watched silently as Levana walked away. He had not really followed what had happened between Cosette and Levana but he definitely felt like the girl had overreacted. Cosette had seemed to be trying to make a point, maybe a bit too tactfully, but a point non-the-less. Levana seemed to have taken as a personal assault which Moshe could not understand. Being told that your whole house is 'arrogant, selfish and stupid' by someone who does not even know you is rude. From Moshe's minimal understanding, Slytherin was a house of pride and ambition, while Gryffindor was a house of honor and bravery. Moshe sighed, wishing that he was back at his Yeshiva. In response to Cosette's question he replied, "To be honest, not so good. Take what just happened here for example. Never would had happened at the Yeshiva. I miss being at that all boys school..." He also was not very hungry, he was going to eat his kosher food later. He felt rather grateful for Professor Swan for getting him these meals. He need to give her a thank you something at the end of year.

Cosette tilted her head at Levana's comment. "That's a pity. Feel better soon," she replied as the girl left. Inwardly, she was slightly pleased to see her go. Perhaps Levana had finally realized what a pest she was being to Charon.

Though, judging by what Cosette had seen, that was probably not the case...

She nodded sympathetically to Moshe.
"I know what you mean. It's quite irritating, these stereotypes. Slytherin House has always been disliked and mistrusted, but since the last War, people positively loathe us..." she sighed mournfully, shaking her head. "It's quite saddening... My first meal here, in fact, one of the Ravenclaws of my year created some sort of explosion at our table, showering Dante Prince and myself with dust." she glanced at Hikari, nodding to her. "No offense intended to you or your house, of course. I simply don't know what the boy's name was..."

((I'm sorry Elegant, I didn't mean to scare you away...I was just trying to stay in character...Please don't be angry! crying ))

Hikari waved off the apology like it was no big deal, which to her it wasn't. As her food materialized before her she picked up the pair chop stick and said, "There are a few bad apples in every bushel. Personal I think every house has it's ups and downs. Slytherin just keeps on getting the bad hand. There is nothing wrong the group of you in my opinion but then again not everyone would agree with me. Some of you are a bit head strong, and that throws people off. As for Ravenclaw we can be a bit too clever for those around us. Gryfinndor has this nasty habit of always trying to be the hero, and poor Hufflepuff is often forgotten for their kindness and friendship because they seem so plain. Cosette you are a relatively blunt and honest person from what I can see, getting your point across with ever bit of pride a Slytherin should be known to have, but it can come out as harsh and cold. That is something members of your house need to watch out for." Hikari looked Cosette straight in the eye. Levana would need to work on her corage to truly become a Gryffinndor. Cosette too also needed work on her people skills, particularly with those that she felt did her wrong. But there was nothing Hikari could do about that. She had her own things to think about.

Cosette smiled at Hikari. "I'll keep your advice in mind. Perhaps I did go a bit too far... But it annoys me how she and her friends can be so hypocritical." She was rather surprised to be described as "blunt and honest," and wondered at that. She didn't consider her words to be particularly blunt... She would need to work on it, it seemed...
