Kito huffed. It figured it was nothing but a foolish hope that Gin would drop anything, let alone something that had to do with himself. "No, no. I was just...," Kito trailed off and sighed. He wasn't going to get out of this one, so he may as well tell his friend. "It was me who was plucking the petals, okay? It doesn't mean anything, so let me up."
The blue fox wiggled out of the stunned Deava's grasp and trotted back towards the deer. "There, now you know. Embarrassing as it was, you can probably see why I didn't want to talk about it. Now can we eat dinner?" Kito grumbled, not turning around.

Gin wasn't stunned...at least not the way Kito thought he was. The Deava was actually hatching an evil plan. Kito was his and everyone knew it, but there was an even better way to make the blue fox his. His forever with no threats from flamboyant, Kito-stealing Phims. An unholy grin graced the Deava's face and he turned around to see Kito trotting away from him. Surely the fox didn't think he was just going to get away.
Gin trotted after Kito, easily catching up to the other fox. The Deava tilted his head and wondered when was the best time to inform his best friend that they were now mates. Hmmm...probably over dinner. Yes, that would be perfect.

Not being pounced again went a long way to calming the blue fox's hammering heart. Kito shot Gin a nervous look, but the Deava seemed to simply look...normal, if maybe a trifle smug. Kito chalked that up to him denying that he liked Morin. Reaching their meal again, Kito watched Argintie chase off the vermin that had started eating in their absense.
Surprisingly, Gin smiled at Kito and politely offered him the best part of the deer. Red flags flying and alarm bells souning, Kito cautiously moved to the treat. "You're being awfully nice, Gin." Kito said. Gin merely snorted and started in on his dinner. Kito blinked, shrugged, and Dug into his own dinner. "Mmm. Thanks, Gin." The blue fox chirped happily.

The Deava watched the blue fox slowly relaxing; Kito couldn't hold a grudge to save his life. Kito probably wasn't the best fit for this particular tribe, but Argintie was more than capable of protecting him.
When the other male thanked him, Argintie smirked in cruel anticipation. "Oh, not at all, mate. I knew you were hungry." He purred in Kito's direction. At first the other male simply raised his head and smiled at him before going back to their meal. 'Three...two...one....'

Mate. Kito hummed happily, it had such a nice ring to it. And then it hit him what Argintie just said was...what? The small blue male choked on his mouthful of dinner and looked up at the Deava wide-eyed and uttered the deeply insightful and intelligent, "W-what?" To add insult to injury, his voice was nothing more than a sqeak.
Gin was looking quite pleased with himself, his tail was lashing slowly from side to side and he was looking at Kito very smugly. And something else that Kito couldn't put a paw on...but it was making him nervous. Swallowing loudly, he repeated the question. "What did you say?"

Quite finished with his dinner and ready for dessert, Argintie stepped over the deer and loomed over the stunned fox. Leaning down, he shoved his nose into Kito's. "I said 'mate'. I've been thinking of ways to make sure you, and everyone else, knows exactly who you belong to. Isn't it funny that you were the one who, innocently as usual, gave me the perfect solution?"
Argintie tilted his head slightly and took in Kito's expression, wondering if he should let all that information sink in or if he should just drag Kito home. The Deava snorted, as if there was any real debate about that. Grabbing Kito by the scruff of his neck, He launched into the air and back towards their cave.

Kito gaped up at Argintie like a fish; mouth moving but words failing to come out. He tried to back up when Gin invaded his personalspace, but he couldn't make his legs move. Or at least not in the right direction; some portion of his mind wanted him to move toward Gin, not away. The decision was abruptly taken away from him when he felt himself lifted into the air.
He should protest. Or fight back or...or...something. They landed and Kito blinked up at Gin. "Gin...we can't. We're friends and friends don't..." Kito trailed off and blushed.

"Friends do do this. And we will." Argintie replied, using his bulk to back Kito into the cave. He chuckled; Kito was trying to put up a fight but...he wasn't trying very hard. Not that anything was going to stop Argintie now, but Kito had learned to stand up to him better than this. Argintie watched Kito get ready to throw up another meaningless protestation, leaned down, and licked the blue male effectively cutting him off.
Argintie smirked, Kito was blushing so hard the red was going through his fur to turn his cheeks slightly purple. It was cute. "Mine, Kito. Mine."

The next morning, Kito woke up wrapped up in Gin's embraced. This wasn't a particularly odd event, in fact it happened every morning. What didn't happen every morning was the soreness and the conviction that Gin had lost his mind yesterday. Kito's ears drooped and he lay his head on Gin's soft tail fur with a sigh. And Gin was probably going to regain his senses today and everything was going to be odd between them or worse.
Kito froze, his breath hitching as he imagined Gin hating him. Being run out of the tribe lands, being chased away and never allowed to see Gin's kids again...not being allowed to see Gin again. The blue fox was having a near panic attack about that. Stupid, stupid, stupid Gin.

Argintie felt Kito stir against him and yawned. All was right in his world: Kito was still here, and there was no longer any contest about who he belonged to, and the perks that went along with that were rather nice as well. Then a nearly silent noise made his ears perk up and twitch in Kito's direction. He probably wouldn't have noticed it if he were someone else, but Gin was well aware of everything Kito did.
Lifting his head, Gin glared at the blue male who was freaking out and most likely over nothing. So, the only possible reaction was to jerk his tail out from under Kito's chin.

Kito's chin suddenly hit the ground as his pillow was rudely jerked away. Turning, he looked at Gin with wide eyes, wondering if he was going to kick him out now or yell at him first. Kito crouched down and pulled his tail in front of him as a sheild. "G-good morning, Gin." He said softly.

Argintie was about to say something rude, like he always did, when Kito turned that expression on him. Kito, in all their years of association, had never, never looked at him that way. Other foxes, absolutely, but not Argintie. Kito was cringing away from him. Argintie cursed and watched the smaller male flinch. The Deava narrowed his eyes at his friend and thought about last night. He hadn't hurt the smaller male, not overly much...which meant Kito was thinking and torturing himself with whatever it was that he was thinking about.
Gin reached out and plopped a paw on Kito's head. "Kito. Whatever you're thinking, stop it right now." He demanded, dragging the blue fox back to him. He wasn't the softest fox in the world, but it was obvious that Kito needed reassurance from whatever silly thought had gotten into the male's head. So Gin leaned down and licked Kito's forehead before snuggling him again.

The cursing Kito had expected. The snuggling...not so much. Then Gin licked his forehead and Kito knew something was wrong with the Deava. Lurching to his feet, Kito pressed his nose against the Deava's forehead, just below Gin's horn. "Are you alright? You're not sick are you? You don't have a fever..." He asked, mumbling that last bit to himself.
Kito tilted his head in confusion before leaning down and inspecting the Deava's pupils; maybe he had hit his head. The bemused expression Kito was met with caused the blue male to pause.

"Kito..." Argintie grumbled, lifting a massive paw and whacking Kito onto his side. "See if I'm ever nice to you again." Argintie said, smirking at the wiggling blue male under his paw. That got him a glare and a n** on the paw, so Argintie let Kito up. He felt so very relaxed compared to the same time yesterday. If Gin had known this was one of the side effects, he would have made Kito his mate ages ago.
"No, I don't have a fever. I'm in my right mind, and I'm not going to eat you. At least...not in anyway you wouldn't like." He said, grinning evilly at his companion. "So stop your sillyness and let's go get breakfast."

Kito flushed scarlet, turning the bridge of his muzzle a deep purple. "There is not nice way to get eaten." He blurted before he could stop himself. Didn't he know better than to call Gin's bluffs? Just as the Deava opened his mouth to say something, Kito sprang forward and out of the cave. "So...what are we going to have for breakfast?" He asked brightly.
Knowing he was still in danger of getting pounced, he picked a random direction and started trotting, hoping Gin's stomach could compete with his sex drive. "We had deer last night. Maybe some rabbit? I like rabbit." He said in a nervous babble.
