That's rather off-putting. Could you clarify it a bit more?

The miniatures are a mixed bag: while the skeletons and revenants look good, if a bit simple, the dwarves are horrible, three piece models that are nothing like the ghouls and zombies. If the game was any better I'd replace them with GW dwarves or the outstanding Avatars of War slayers.
Likewise the tiles, while nicely done in the art department, are very simply and don't interlock. Maybe we're just spoiled from Space Hulk (any edition will do), but interlocking tiles make the game a bit easier and save you the bother of realigning them whenever someone clumsy knocks them away.
Boiling down the rules, they are okay, just not that solid. Both players depend on tokens for their actions. A token tells you how many actions you can perform per turn, which is something of a departure from Space Hulk where every model could move and action points could be spent for that extra oompfh when needed.

A sequel has been announced featuring Orcs and Elves: Quote: Dwarf King's Hold: Green Menace coming in July! After the phenomenal success of Dwarf King’s Hold: Dead Rising, we can announce it’s partner is coming in July. Dwarf King’s Hold: Green Menace, whilst still a complete game in it's own right, adds two new races to the Dwarf King’s Hold series - the Elves and Orcs, introducing new rules - such as shooting bows (with Elves - surely some mistake!), and also includes new rooms and artwork.
