(( ROUND TWO ))

As if it couldn't possibly had gotten worse: Lilith's face twisted at the mention of Draven into a very unhappy face. Had he gotten her this? No, he most certainly had. He was a jerk! He went and fought all her avarice sins and then didn't even so much as call her. How dare he, really. She was going to give him a piece of her mind and then a piece of her fist. Maybe he had an excuse, well he damn well better. A good one. Instead of snapping at the sloth demon about it she simply said, "No," and focused on the cauldron and the white vicejox, who was quite a bit edgey. He really wanted that smoke.

She really did seem distracted though and it was all the sloth demon's fault.

(( ROUND 2 ))

Colette looked away from the cauldron and to Israfel at the mention of Christmas Town. "Yep," she said in a short, simple reply and nodded. It was a terrible trip, but after having time to think about it, she was happy she had at least made so many friends from it. The associated and thought of JingleBerry with anything Christmas was still there though, as Colette was particularly unhappy every time it was brought up. She would not be forgetting that any time soon, but she kept a neutral face on as to keep any questions away.

Looking back at the cauldron to start adding in her Fear again, she tried to focus and do it right. The mention of Truth or Dare made her nervous though, and she glanced at Barth before replying to Israfel with a more hesitant answer. "Y-yes," she said quietly. "I was there too.." The fact that the Sloth Demon had to kiss her at Truth of Dare made her feel awkward, but she thanked Jack that he was occupied with his friend Lilith. There was the memory of Christof trying to kill her every chance he got too. She had never gotten back at him for that..

By the time Colette actually paid attention to how much Fear she was adding, she had put in too much. The ghoul was still distracted by her own thoughts though and slunk back in her seat to await her turn again.

((Round 2))

The scareon was dead weight. More then that it was emo dead weight. Sighing Israfel let is slide down to the floor, where it let out a pitiful whine. "Oh hush, you sack of sadness." Looking at the students, the siren waited before looking into the pot. It smelt...not to bad. A bit strong but not bad. Nodding to the ghost, Israfel was slowly getting more used to them. Figg was still a bitter memory, but slowly, Israfel was growing more accustom to them as a race. Having Lucien as a friend helped with his acceptance no doubt.
"Jove! I like it. Do you know Lucien? He's really nice but sometimes we don't get to be paired up. He's a sylph. Wind spirit. Air..thingy. But he's awesome." Earwings flicked as the siren talked of his friend. "Do you know him?" Meanwhile Castor was looking at Fruitloop. And at Jove's pockets. Pockets had things? What kind of things? Apparently interesting things judging by the way the foxfire was acting. Curious, Castor started sniffing at the pocket as well.

Stirring the cauldron, Israfel rambled on. Blue eyes zeroed in on the couple he was totally going to try to ship. "You're really handsome Barth. Don't you think so Colette?" He smirked. Bartte. Barthettle. Coleth.
He'd work on the ship name later.
"Oh Hi!" Israfel was geting a bit excited, no focusing on his FEAR. "Okay. Alcie and Eri." Castor pause from pocket sniffing to sniff the new comer. then when back to the pocket. Noms>New people "I wonder what happen once it's done." he paused. "I wonder what would happen if we ate some too."

((Round 3))

Sin looked up and smiled brightly as she spotted Alcyone, she eagerly scooted over to make room for her friend but was careful to continue stirring. She thought things were going along nicely and now she sort of had the hang of adding in the FEAR. Smiling she added a bit more, not too little, not too much, just right!

"Hey Alcie!" She lightly scratched Pantaloons again, her nails running down his spine as he arched eagerly and wiggled in her lap. Obviously he was excited about the treat, but not silly enough to dive into a bubbling cauldron. She gave his rear a firm pat hoping he would stay still and well behaved for a little longer so she could finish up the assignment properly.

Lilith's very adamant No. was exactly what Barth had wanted to hear. He didn't seem put off by her displeasure and distraction at the slightest. He couldn't have asked for a better response.

Good.

He turned red at the siren's comment, though.

"Oh, err, was that you asking those questions on Groanspring? I don't know why you kept posting on Colette's wall, she was practically the only one who didn't- I mean, err- Anyway," he said, giving the cauldron a stir. An even smaller amount of his FEAR went in.

(( ROUND THREE ))

Lilith's distraction was quite easily overturned when Israfel spoke. Did he really just go there? Was he really trying to set up Colette of all people with her sloth demon? No, no way he would be so foolish, or was there? She realized right away what that little siren brat was doing and decided yes, he was foolish enough to go there. Enemy #1 was sighted. She just glared at him, her sharp blue eyes piecing into the siren. How dare he try and set her demon up. Her sloth, at that. She was not happy about this. She was not happy about this siren. Oh, yes, she had heard about him. The siren who couldn't even do the one thing sirens were meant to do: sing. Worthless.

"Why don't stop trying to set people up who don't need to be set up and go back to doing what you're suppose do best, siren? Singing -- Oh wait, you can't even do that right." She paused, he had mentioned a friend earlier, hadn't he? "I believe your dear friend," Lucien was it? She didn't waste time. "Lucien agrees." She didn't know this Lucien but it certainly didn't matter to her, surely just another worthless, space-wasting creature.

Then as if nothing had happened, the reaper gave her white vicejox a good pet on the head as she went back to working on the assignment, pushing some FEAR into it.

(( ROUND 3 ))

"Uh, Y-" Colette had started to answer Israfel's question, sure of her answer but a little uncomfortable that she out of everyone here was targeted. She certainly wasn't going to say no, that would be terrible. She didn't want to hurt Barth's feelings and it wasn't like he was an elf covered in tinsel and joy. However, something, or more like someone, thoroughly interrupted her.

Listening to Lilith's harsh words, Colette started to frown and become annoyed. What she was saying was awful; all Israfel did was ask a question! And better yet, the ghoul inserted herself into her conversation. Glancing at Lilith, Colette's lips were in a tight frown. "That was rude," she directed to Lilith.

Did this ghoul have no self control? There was no need for the random hostility! She should be ashamed of her ridiculous behavior; it was definitely unimpressive. As Colette began adding her Fear into the cauldron, she thought of a certain class Lilith might want to enroll herself in and even more of how could Barth even be friends with someone like Lilith. Certain on finishing her conversation, Colette looked at Israfel again and matter-of-factly replied to his question, trying to forget Lilith's lack of control. "And yes, Israfel. I do." The entire incident at least helped her to ignore Barth bringing up Groanspring and the array of awkward questions that were associated with it.

Dasher had promptly removed himself from the table and returned to the floor for a nice nap after Colette placed him there, sure it was much quieter. It was safe to say he didn't expect to see a green blob to be moving around down there though, and he tried to ignore Glop and sleep until he realized it was moving towards him.

The Reindeer had only eaten green things lately, all tasting like grass. green Fear Candy and.. grass; it was all she let him have lately. Did this green blob perhaps taste like grass? Better? He wanted to find out. Strutting over to meet Glop halfway, Dasher stuck his tongue out and tried to lick the green blob.

((Round 3))

So many words... Jove watched the siren with an unwavering look as he spoke of his friend, ears occasionally twitching in mimicry of those odd little head wings. For one who had not strung together two words since his application to the school, it was almost a marvel. Who knew students could be so chatty.

Not that Jove was put off by the talk, he found it rather... pleasant to be talked at. He shook his head at the appropriate moment, and his ears remained perked and attentive right through until Israfel turned his talk in Colette's direction. Jove stood up at that point and added a third dose of his Fear to the cauldron, as oblivious to the scareon's inquisitive sniffs as his own pet's overexcited wiggling. When he sat down, almost on the poor scareon's nose, he decided it was time for an intervention. Pulling the pomegranate out of his pocket, he placed it in the opposite pocket and gave both pets his best "please mind your manners" look.

One ear swivelled in the other direction when the pair of reapers began talking. Even though Jove didn't quite understand the insult to his talkative classmate, the change in atmosphere was sudden enough to make the little ghost flinch. And then to say his "awesome", "really nice" friend agreed with the insult? Now there were two reapers at the table with charged emotions. Reapers really were terrifying...

The fluffy little boil struggled against his cowardly instinct, and instead frowned and puffed up in an "I am indignant" manner. Then he reached into his pocket to offer Israfel a very determined pomegranate seed gift as if to say "those words don't matter, you can talk more now."

((Round 3))
"Maybe~" The siren's tone was full of uncaring admission at the groanspring question. "She was the only one what? Hmmmmmm?" Feathers pricked forwards. Just what was that juicy tid bit he'd not known? Another hint towards feelings perhaps? As he leaned forward, Lilith's chilling words made him all but slam back into his seat, wings and ears falling back and closed to his body. Her words stung at best, and suddenly, he felt like he was back home, his relatives chiding his lack of singing skills. And- "Lu- Lucy wouldn't say those things..." He wasn't sure though. Was he a bad friend? The very idea was scaring him back down, retreating to wrapping his wings around him.
Castor meanwhile had been rather fine with sniffing for seeds giving it's best hurt look to Jove as the ghost took the little red treats from reach of the scareon. Then- then his master changed. What? Why was it's master sad. Only it got to be sad! Who made it's master sad? That reaper? The scareon made a mental note to pee on her dress later. Sad master didn't award treats.

As Israfel took the red seed from the ghost, the siren made a small smile. A silent thank you. It was at this same time the scareon was trying to climb back to the siren's arms. No sad masters. That was it's job, not Israfel's. Petting his pet's fur, Isarfel felt a tad better. From Colette, Jove, his scareon. "Just a bit more." He gave the pot a stir, if a pathetic one.

((Round 3))

Nodding at everybody, Alcie watched as everybody gathered their FEAR into the cauldron. She had no idea if they were doing this correctly or not but hopefully it would turn out alright? Listening to the conversation, Alcie really didn't have any idea what was going on but it clearly wasn't going well.

After her last attempt, Alcie was feeling pretty confident about her fear and this time, she stepped up to the cauldron thinking that she would do control it even better this time. She was wrong. Beginning to mix in her fear, Alcie realized that she was mixing in too much and too quickly. Before she could stop herself, she knew that she had added way too much. Frowning, she mumbled a slight apology at her group and stepped away from the cauldron. She really needed to learn to focus better.

Eri shook his head at Alcie and sat on his haunches while looking off into the distance. He could really care less about what was going on and what Alcie was doing.

Sin watched Alcie and offered her friend a reassuring smile despite how much FEAR she had added. "Hey don't worry it still smells great...I don't think we messed it up too badly." She continued to stir though unsure how to tell when the mix was well and truly done. She was eager to see how the professor judged their work though. Pantaloons squirmed a bit in her lap and lifted his head as if trying to decide if the stuff in the cauldron was worth stirring up some trouble for. He yawned and settled back on his chubby haunches giving his wings a little flutter before he decided to just watch...for now.

PART 2 OF TASK UP

The orange mixture bubbled and bubbled - it was all it did, really, as the students took turns at it. The color change was insignificant, and only a trained eye could tell that it was in fact a shade lighter than when it first started by the time it finally stopped bubbling and was ready for inspection.

As if on cue, the Professor had appeared, having walked over from another table. He smiled when he saw the color of the mixture, giving an approving nod as he set Ayakashi down on the table, "Very good, almost a perfect mixture!" He then stood back to allow the Minipet to do his thing - walking on the table top, Ayakashi made one round around the table, staying silent as he gave all the students a sniff. When he was back to Malcolm, he leaped directly into his arms and gave everyone a contented look.

"Is that so, then?" Malcolm murmured before helooked up, addressing the students with a pleased smile, "Thank you all for putting effort into this, it is appreciated... This is the second group together with cooperation from everyone... I am especially pleased at you, Barth. Seems to me like you had been distracted, but you gave this assignment a shot, which I find commendable."

Holding out several green tokens the size of pumpkin seeds, he handed one to every student in the group, "Keep this safe... It will come in handy when my office is ready."

Spirits were still crushed slightly, and Israfel looked at their cauldron. Taking his portion, Israfel looked to Castor, who's face broke out into the scareon equivalent of a grin, his tail flicking about. The other students seemed to be doing their own work, leaving the siren to his own devices. Picking up his minipet he gave a bit of a snuffle. he could do this. Deep breath, ear wings and feather puffed in determination, (it never occurred that he might have looked life a feathered version of a puffed Jove).
"Okay Castor, what do you think we should start with?" The scareon was clearly in a better moon, wiggling to pull at the snowball treat from his pocket. "Hey! That was-" Oh wait. He liked the treat..maybe Israfel could try to mimic it? Snowballs were soft so...Hm... Grabbing brown sugar, the siren stirred it in, watching it turn the mixture into a runny no doubt sweet slosh. It needed to be thicker. Honey and maple syrup were added. None of that corn stuff. If it came from a veggie, how could it be sweet? But with all that sugar...Israfel certainly didn't want Castor to be fatter then he was so maybe... more natural things seemed the best route to go, (he almost face palmed at that last sugar. too late now). A good balance....Maybe...he reached for the heavy cream, but last second grabbed the butter milk. It was thick, and would serve to balance the sweets and the sugar. Also, he poured in some of the salted butter. God at this rate Castor was going to be fat. No two ways about it. But...The mixture- "Candlja-" Cursing lightly, Israfel poured in some water to lighten the mixture, keep it smooth, but it only made it return to slosh. In an effort to save the concoction, he added a glob of heavy cream.

Now..tastes...The mixture was a bit thick now, and Israfel got the impression it might be a tad too thick. Grabbing a lemon, he paused to enjoy the smell. Mindful of the seeds, he added a few good squirts of lemon juice. It had a distinct sweet smell, but the lemon was muted. It wouldn't really do. Castor also looked a bit disinterested at it. But not too put off. Lemon added Israfel figured to keep with the the theme citrus. a nice tang to go with sweet. Adding in a citrus flower and some lemon zest, the scareon was certainly interested now. It was a new smell. New nibblies.

Now the final ingredient, removing the snowball snack left, Castor whines. 'Please master can I? Please Please Plea-' the scareon wobbled and whined as it was tossed into the mixture.
As it mixed the consistency changed, and once it was as the professor instructed.... The trial by fire began. That was, Israfel offered it to Castor for a taste test. The little triangles of white got Castor curious if wary, the sniffing got its interest however, that much was clear. Sweet, with a bit of a tang. it pawed at it, and when it wiggled slightly, the pet's tail twitched. 'wiggly niblies'. But the real reaction came as the scareon grabbed one and bit, eye widening and his fur standing on end. At first Israfel thought he'd done it. Killed his poor fat scareon. But in a second the thing's tail curled on itself and the scareon want for another. "Jack- NO. Castor No!" Israfel was forced to pull the tray away, and set the scareon down, who was now pouting. It wanted more of the new niblies. So, it settled for making pathetic whimpers and pawing at Israfel's coat, trying to look cute and earn another treat that way.

Jove took the token he was offered and looked at it curiously, only to scowl and hold it up over his head as his foxfire tried to pluck it from his fingers with it's teeth. That was not what this was for! The professor had said it was to be kept safe, not that it was to be eaten! Keeping it well out of reach of the snuffly ball of fluff, Jove shoved the green token in his pocket.

He glanced around at the rest of the table, lingering on Israfel for a moment longer. Was the siren going to be okay? He certainly seemed determined, but Jove knew he was also guilty of puffing up when he felt he had something to prove. After a minute he hesitantly took a portion of the mixed FEAR from the cauldron to make his candy from. It didn't look so hard, he thought as he poured it into the saucepan. Just mix things together until it wasn't gooey or gross.

The pup set his foxfire down on the floor, giving it a direct look, pointing under his chair, and flattening his hand, palm towards the ground. The foxfire looked like he was about ready to ignore Jove, until a pomegranate seed was waved under it's nose, and then it scurried under the chair and flopped down like it's very life depended on it. Jove set the seed on the table, future reward for good behaviour, and the fluffy little dog just about bored holes in the table with it's eyes.

Jove tucked his feet up and kneeled on the seat of his chair so it was easy to work, and rolled up his sleeves. Time to get to work! The pup leaned forward to sniff the available ingredients, while his foxfire was otherwise distracted. The honey was the first sweetener that caught his attention, and he added a portion of that to the brew. So far so good. As it began to heat up he added some regular granulated sugar, and then more honey for good measure. He knew the fluffball under his chair liked sweet things. With ears curiously perked forward he watched the mixture begin to bubble, and then realized how thick and sluggish it had gotten with so much sweetener. With a slightly panicked expression he slopped in three good portions of water.

Maybe this was harder than he anticipated... With a worried look he leaned forward on his knees and stirred until the water was thoroughly mixed in. Now it was too runny, so he added another slop of honey. And then a slight whine, as if to coax the mixture to behave. He only breathed a sigh of relief once his batch was more or less back on track, looking not too thick, but not too watery. Jove went back to sniffing the ingredients once again, his nose wrinkling quite dramatically at the scent of the white vinegar. With a scowl he skipped over that and the cream of tartar, squeezing some lemon juice into to his mixture instead. It would go well with the tang of pomegranate seeds, which he began to stir in that that point.

His nose led him to the crushed citrus flowers, and he added just the slightest amount of those, his tail wagging at the almost tropical fruit scent the candy was developing. To finish it off he dosed the candy with some red and yellow food colouring, stirring until some oranges appeared amidst the stripes.

Finally he dumped the stuff out and poked it with a finger. A firm mixture. He played with it for a bit, squishing the stuff with his hands and enjoying the scent that radiated off of it. Judging by the whine that began to emanate from under his chair, the foxfire approved as well. Rather than torture the pet further, Jove hastily shaped one small ball into a little bone and presented it to the fluff since he had been doing such a good job staying put. And the foxfire took one sniff, and devoured the whole thing in one go. Jove wagged his tail and gave his foxfire some ear scritches, and the foxfire in turn wagged its tail and licked at the ghost's hands, and there was much puppy love shared between the two before Jove realized he had better fix the rest of his candy into bones before it became impossible to work with.

Lilith was trying to ignore everyone, except for Bartholomew whom she would find her eyes settling on every so often. It was not until Professor Malcolm slammed against a desk, making a loud sound, did the necromancer finally look up and towards him. He was talking now, but the student found herself dejected from the subject as the teacher went on and on. She got the idea already, couldn't he just stop? Finally, when he stopped, she smiled a little. It was nice not to have to listen to him anymore. Although now she had to solve the issue of actually doing the assignment.

It certainly didn't make things any easier with the little monster of a follyjox in her lap. She had to practically hold him there to prevent the little rascal from running off and enjoying his many, many vices. She certainly couldn't have that, after all, it was the whole point of coming to this class in the first place. With one hand on the follyjox, her other hand being used to retrieve some of the mixture from the cauldron to fill up a measuring cup. She tried to be really careful with it, not because she wanted to do a super fantastic job and impress the teacher, but because she didn't want to get any of it on her. She didn't need to be all sticky and full of strange things from class, even if it didn't stain.

She poured the mixture from the measuring cup into a saucepan. She looked at the ingredients list next, as she stirred a spoon in the mixture. She needed at least one sweetener? Well, that shouldn't be too hard. She seen at least two ingredients listed under the sweetener list that looked... okay. She started with the Granulated Sugar and stirred that in, and although she didn't like the idea of how sticky Honey was, she thought the follyjox might enjoy it and added that to the saucepan as well.

The Vicejox in her arms seemed to react, squirming more towards the saucepan than away as it had been doing earlier. It seemed to really like the smell that the honey had, and Lilith had to agree. It did smell nice, although she had to hold the follyjox even more still than usual to make sure it didn't get up onto the table and into it. She was not cleaning sticky mixture of goo off of the follyjox later. With another look over the ingredient list, the necromancer sighed and searched for the Heavy Cream and Cream of Tartar. She added in the Heavy Cream, and then when she found the Cream of Tartar she gave the teacher a strange look. It wasn't actually cream, it was more like a powder. Either way, the necromancer tossed that into the saucepan as well, giving it all a good stir.

Finally, she pulled out the special ingredient: the Mixed Berries that she had brought. It was his favourite and she seemed to hold it in front of his face for a moment, dangling it with a smile. It tried to get it, but Lilith held it just out of reach.

"In due time," she whispered before she gave the mini pet a small kiss on the top of his nose, straightening out the little hat she had on him. What a cute fedora. Of course, when she moved back up she accidentally knocked over the red and blue food colouring into the saucepan. It dripped in an equal amount of both before Lilith was able to pick it up. Well, whatever. Lilith liked purple anyways. She gave it all one good stir and called the it a success.

She took a spoonful of it, and dropped it into the water. It seemed to form a soft ball. She repeated this a few times until she had a small pile of candies. She gave a good look at them, and then looked at her mini pet. Her follyjox seemed more than eager to eat it, and Lilith didn't mind either way. It ate it, and seemed happy with it -- even though it was trying to chew something that was way too soft. It seemed like it really would have preferred something harder.
