The mixture started off orange, bubbling steady as the students took their turn to release FEAR into it, stirring it. As its bubbling reduced and eventually stopped to indicate that the mixture was ready, the orange mixture had turned a little saturated in color, as if it wasn't concentrated enough.
After he was done with Group 5, Malcolm with Ayakashi in his arms moved to the next table. He had great expectations from this group, only because everyone there seemed to be trying their best - he eyed DC, wondering if Amrita had touched it... Probably not, however, judging from her reaction when the fire had started in the previous class. It was too bad, really...
"Hmm, a little more FEAR in here would have made it perfect," He nodded, looking into the cauldron as he set Ayakashi on the table. The Minipet seemed to know its job, moving around the table and sniffing every student once. It stopped at Whisper, Junko and Alwine to let out a soft whimper. At Carthusia, however, he let out a call instead before returning to Malcolm's side.
"Seems like some of you tried harder than others to make this right," He raised an eye brow as he picked up the Minipet, scanning the faces of the students before turning to Amrita, Malodore and Christof respectively, giving each of them an approving smile, "Thank you for putting extra effort into this assignment. Christof, I hope to see you come to class on time in the future, however... I think timeliness is a good trait to have. For putting in effort, keep this - it will come in useful... Christof, you will not get one due to being late, but know that I still appreciate your work for this assignment."
He produced a green token - small and light, the size of a pumpkin seed and handed one to Malodore and Amrita.

"However," He moved a step back to face the whole group now, "I could tell that everyone tried their best and I believe that is worth praising as well."
He paused, as if hesitating before looking straight at Carthusia, sounding a little disappointed as he spoke, "You, however, need to put in a little more pride in your work... Ayakashi here told me that you didn't put in much of your FEAR compared to the others, and it is not due to putting in too little. If its not enough, you should have put in more and not stopped... Only reason you would not be spending time here after class is because you at least attempted this assignment."
He then smiled, relaxing a little, "Thank you for all your hard work. It is very much appreciated."

Malodore pocketed the small green token, pleased, and then turned back to the project at hand... actually making something out of the FEAR-brew they'd assembled. Presumably it wouldn't be any more different than assembling a medicine? Though those came with detailed recipes... The plague doctor picked up a saucepan and placed it on the stove, carefully setting it to low heat. It then dipped out the appropriate amount of FEAR-brew, putting it into the pan... and it was at that point, of course, that the instructions became terribly vague. Malodore gave the pan a depreciating look. A sweetener, a binder, an acid, and... well, the ingredient it brought to class was easy enough. In went the dried frog toes, which hissed slightly as the FEAR-brew plumped them out before they sank into the mixture entirely. ... And now Malodore was in completely uncharted territory, with only the vaguest map to guide it. Worse, it was now dealing with matters of taste! What did it care about taste? When making medicine, one went straight for efficacy, assuming that the eventual patient would either ingest the brew or suffer. Flavor wasn't a consideration. Ever. The plague doctor stirred the brew vigorously a few times to hide its sudden nervousness. Right. Deep breath. It could do this. A sweetener was called for; Malodore went for the honey, since it was at least familiar with its curative properties. Once that was done with, it turned its attention to the binder... binder. What was a good binder? Something sticky that held things together...? And that wasn't honey, apparently. Merde. Malodore stared at the ingredients until it finally selected an egg. Eggs were sticky, right, on the inside? Sort of? In went the egg. The entire thing. The plague doctor stirred the pot quickly until it felt the egg smash against the side of the vessel, then stirred it some more, trying to crush all the shell-bits into something somewhat uniform. And... the last thing. An acid. An acid?! What kind of acid? Hydrochloric? Hydrofluoric? Sulfuric? It didn't see any of those available! What madness was this?! Desperately, Malodore went for an orange. Citric acid counted, surely? It peeled the orange and squished the fruit over the bowl, letting the juice drip in before placing peel and the remaining pulp to one side. Stir, stir, stir. It was green now. Was that good? Hopefully it was good. Any additives to enhance taste, smell, or color were utterly ignored. Finally, Malodore dished out the syrup. It was thick, almost like mucus; the frog toes and eggshells had somehow completely dissolved. It squished and bubbled forlornly on the tray. It was probably closest to a soft ball... probably. Yum.... ?When presented with the first treat, Parassiti sniffed... and stumbled backwards, making highly unpleasant noises mostly associated with expelling hairballs. Malodore drooped slightly. The mixture seemed to have turned out alright, and Whisper smiled at the professor. She knew she could have done better, and regretted not doing so. However, there was still more to do, and not enough time to sit around moping. So she began to debate on her ingredients. She figured if she made something that Curse enjoyed, there would be much higher chances of it helping the luck cat listen. Off the tray she picked honey, brown sugar, and maple syrup. She poured the FEAR mixture contained in her measuring cup into the saucepan she had just placed on the stove. The dial was turned to low heat as was instructed, and she began to stir in the sweeteners. Next would come the binders. Whisper looked over the tray as she stirred, strongly considering each one. With her free hand she grabbed the Buttermilk and the salted butter. She began to grow nervous as she added in the binders, hoping she was choosing the correct ones. Next was the acid. This one was a no brainer for Whisper, she grabbed the lemon and squeezed it into the mixture. Orange eyes scanned her area for the item she brought with her to class, as that was next to be added in, but it was no where to be seen. Then there was Curse, sitting there so proudly. She put two and two together, and placed her face in her free hand. Of course he ate them...of course. Whisp stopped stirring for a moment to search through her bag. It seemed luck was barely on her side, she found some linty chocolate chips at the very bottom underneath her books. She threw those in the mix and continued to stir her concoction. For the final touch she added some Crushed Lavender. With all this she hoped the cat would at least try it. The mixture turned a light brown colour, with a slightly darker tinge in some areas. She did her best to mold it into a ball, though it ended up coming out firm and a little bumpy. She placed it on the counter for the luck cat to sniff. He pawed at it a little, sniffing and almost teasingly licking the ball. For a moment, Curse sat and eyed the ball until he finally took it in his mouth and consumed it. He didn't seem to dislike it, or truly love it. Perhaps next time it would be better...no. Next time it would be better, she would try and try again. Christof sighed anxiously as the teacher repremanded him... but.. but he had caught up so well! Well, he'd just have to work harder to impress the teacher, and pray there would be no detention. So... it was time to cook, huh? The Igor had never cooked anything in his life, as far as he could recall anyway... generally not having to eat made it seem rather silly and frivolous. But... even if they were pet biscuits, it would be good to know if a future Master DID eat... or if Riley required a specially prepared brain at any point... Carefully, he followed the professor's instructions as closely as he could- and he was good at following instructions. He gathered his ingredients, as close to what he could surmise the odd little scareon would like... Scruff usually ate nothing but Parts he stole from his bench or his Fear Kibble, but unfortunately he had no horse meat handy, as much as he might have wanted to feed the little thing some Kelpie. He took a few severed human fingers from his pocket, carefully chopping them up into more manageable bite-sized pieces but left the bone and fingernails, Scruff usually liked gnawing on those and he didn't have to worry about a choking hazard on a pet that was technically not really alive to begin with... Sweet, sweet huh? He liked sweet. It had been one of the few flavors he had taken advantage of while unstitched. Well, if Scruff liked sweet as much as he did, he'd definitely like this... He tossed Brown Sugar, Honey, heavy corn syrup and Maple Syrup into the mix before glancing to what else was on the recipe. It was just like Barth's blueprints! This wasn't so hard. The general outline was there and it was just a matter of hodge-podging the rest. An Acid... well... Scruff seemed to like the taste of a lot of the preservatives he used in his Parts, maybe if he pickled the finger pieces with the vinegar first? He found a glass bowl, carefully pouring some White Vinegar into it before tossing in a handful of the finger bits, and let it sit while he moved on to the next ingredients. Binder! How did the binder work, exactly? He wasn't sure, but he heated a pot of water methodically, wary of the flame under the pot but kept his cool all the same. Just a task, and you must Complete Tasks. It looked fairly boring, just water on it's own, though, and so he happily added in a bit of heavy cream- some splashed down by his shoes and the Scareon excitedly licked it up. Ah! So he liked that! He quickly dumped the rest of the carton in just to be sure. A bit of butter sounded cookingly enough. He choose the unsalted sort. He poured the sweeteners in as well, waiting for them to dissolve in the now simmering water as he stirred very carefully... one... two... 13 seemed like a good number of stirs before it was time for the fear goop. Ladling it out of the cauldron, he put it in the palm of his larger left hand, carefully sprinkling the now pickled finger bits in and needed it thoroughly. That done, he tossed it into the boiled water with a handful of Lavender to try to calm the pet, like how the professor had advised, and waited. Other people were starting to finish their treats before he tested his dollop, ah! He had a nice Firm Ball!Scruff yipped excitedly at his ankles as he brought the ball over to the table, dividing it up with a knife before rolling it into little logs. With a bit of ingenuity and some well placed Green and Red Food Coloring, they looked just like little fingers! The hunchback couldn't help but find his treats adorable. Now... it was time for the taste test. He took one finger, waving it as he motioned for the scareon to sit, and once he did he offered the thing out excitedly. It seemed wary of the scent, but was entranced by the red stain on the thing, Scruff immediately lunged to try to snatch it up, tail wagging at the first sensation of sweet, reveling in the flesh-like consistency before... suddenly the thing gagged, practically vomiting the half-chewed thing out on Christof's boot and whined as a pickled finger bit became lodged between two of it's sharp teeth. It howled, rushing away miserably to try to get it out frantically. The hunchback frowned, looking entirely hurt. His cooking wasn't THAT bad, was it? Looking down at the mixture, Alwine suddenly wasn't sure that mushrooms were a good idea. The flavor didn't really mesh well with sweetness, so the haunt was sure she had her work cut out for her. Well, time to get this over with. Alwine scooped out her mixture and poured it into the measuring cup before walking over to the saucepan provided. She flipped on the heat to low and started to stir, glancing down at Truffles every now and then for reassurance. Her choice of reassurance was, well, to sleep. Alwine pulled out her spoon and walked over to the list of ingredients. She figured that something made out of corn would mesh the best with mushrooms. Better than maple syrup, anyway. So she decided to put in light corn syrup as the sweetner, and nothing else. Now, what was the main ingredient of Creep of Mushroom soup? Mushrooms and... cream!! So she chose heavy cream and water and poured them into the saucepan. She stirred for a few moments longer before taking a lemon and cutting into it with a small knife provided. Lemon, cream, and mushroom? It didn't sound too bad, to be honest! She continued to prepare, adding the lemon juice to the mixture. None of the scents sounded like they would add to the flavor, so that just left color. Alwine wasn't sure about Truffles, but the chef liked the color purple. So she took some black, red, and blue food colorings and added it to the mixture until it formed a dark purple. She proceeded to test it by dribbling it into the water, and rolled it into a soft and malleable ball. It flattened out in no time, and Alwine continued to finish the batch. Truffles wasn't happy with being woken up, even if it was for a treat. She grunted and nosed at the pancake-like treat before slowly chewing on it. She seemed to enjoy the texture, though she could care less about the color. The mushrooms and cream worked well, but what was that strange lemon and sweet flavor...? Huh. I mean, it wasn't BAD, but Truffles had tasted better.
