Kendrick looked at her to make sure she was positive about that. "If you're sure.." He stepped out of the river and was basically standing right beside her, but he took a few steps to the side to still give her her space. "Thank you. I wasn't sure how much longer my hooves were going to last." He gave her a smile.

Nodding her head in showing that she was alright with him getting closer. She felt more comfortable around him as she let out a slow sigh of relief. "I thought your hooves were going to freeze... I'm sorry to have made you just stand there." Apologizing as she looked into his eyes. They were different from her own. Her eyes were a bright blue, but his were a soft almost gray color.
She gave a small smile, "Your eyes... they are beautiful... Your mother's eyes or father?" Asking as her tail swished side to side. She moved a bit closer to him to get a better look into them.

"Oh no it's alright. In all honesty I could have just backed up to the other side...But then you wouldn't have made so much progress like now." Gives a small wink. He blinked when she got closer, making comments about his eyes. "Uh..thank you? I think I was told they're my father's. My mother's are a dark brown. They're not that special though. Your eyes are entrancing. Like getting lost in a bright blue oasis..." He blinked again at himself and cleared his throat. "Ahem, um ...Well I'm glad to see you're getting better about your fear."

Giggles from the wink with his comment. She blinked catching him speak about her own eyes. "Thank you... An oasis? I've never had someone call them that." She remarked as she felt a light blush color her orange fur. She looked away to hide the new coloration to her face. Nodding in agreement to his words, "In no time, I'll be able to approach stallions with ease or not as much fear as now."

Kendrick nodded. "That's good, but you should still be careful. There are some that I wouldn't recommend approaching, at least not without someone with you. Even though you shouldn't be afraid of every individual or every stallion, still be wary of those you get a bad vibe from. I think you'll see what I mean someday when you find one of those people." His gaze was from her, looking into the river. "It just kind of..came out. I mean what else would be so pure and blue? Oasis was my first thought..."

Cloee blinked as he looked away from her to the river."I think it's very sweet of you, Kendrick." Her long unicorn tail swished as she spoke. Her gaze went blank as a vision of a firece lion walker had been chasing after her. She was only a foal and had found it hard to run or hide. Her legs quaked where she stood then let out a scream.
Snapping out of the vision she felt weak, but knew it was only her memory. "I was actually attacked by a skinwalker when I was much younger..." Confessing as she looked to the ground.

Kendrick jolted a little and looked at her when she screamed, then around the area to see what had frightened her. Yet there was nothing... At her confession he reached a wing out to help her but paused. Look, don't touch. His wing came back to his side. "I'm sorry that happened to you. This explains your fear, I assume? Skinwalkers are... well I don't think I need to tell you but definitely avoid them as best you can. They won't hurt you again. You're stronger now."
It was hard for him to even imagine what that would be like for a small frightened foal to be attacked by something so vicious. Other Soquili were bad, Kalonas worse. But Skinwalkers.. they took the cake for being the worst. He didn't blame her for being afraid. "But you know what they look like too, right? So you know to stay away from them but most who like you or me won't harm you... unless your a basket snatcher or something." Offers a small smile, knowing full well she'd never do such a thing.

Cloee shivered, but noticed his wing was out stretched to her then pulled back. She moved to his side with quick pace, hiding her head in his chest. She was truly frightened from her memory of being attacked by said skinwalker. "Since then... I had avoided everyone... I was hurt, but scars heal... not the memories that burned into my mind." She whimpered a little as her tail was curled around her back legs.
Blinking, she realized how close she was to the stallion. Blushing lightly, but didn't more away. Her heart thumped a little, but she tried to hide it as best she could. "You're the only stallion that has tried to help my or approach me like this..." Speaking softly as she looked up at him. She smiled lightly," Thank you, Kendrick..."

He blinked at her sudden change of heart towards him and... well he didn't know what to do! He'd never had a frightened emotional mare in front of him before. Sure he always said he'd do anything for his mother and sister but... they were never like this! His wing faltered a bit as he tried to figure out what to do and finally settled the wing on her gently. "It's understandable. Especially at a young age that sticks with you longer I think. You might not be able to erase them but you can try and overpower them with happy memories. So there's your goal, go make some happy memories for yourself."
He blinked again... Why did he work so hard to approach her? She didn't mean anything to him, just a strange mare in passing. Yet he felt some sort of pull toward her, it had to be why he felt the need to help her. "You don't need to thank me, I really didn't do anything. All I did was talk to you, you're the one who found your strength to let someone closer. You should be proud of your progress, Cloee."

Cloee shook her head at Kendrick. "I could have done this without your help..." She spoke shyly as she moved away from him a little. She was still a bit scared, but happy to know that she had someone to help her out. Her tail moved back to it's proper placement from her hind legs. "Will you be there in my happy memories?" Asking him as she felt that she wished to be around him more.

"If you say so," smiles a bit. He lifts his wing to give her her space back and looks at her for a minute. "Well.. I suppose I could be if you wanted me to. I don't really have a schedule or anything, though I do like to check on my mother and my sister, to make sure they're okay. Don't think you need someone to make those happy memories, all you need is you." Nods. "Of course company always does make things more enjoyable... depending on said company I suppose. Most would say I'm probably not the best company to have though." Probably because the few mares he met most likely thought him an awkward, super serious stallion.

"I like your company though, Kendrick. It's soothing..." Cloee spoke softly with her voice like silk. She had become comfortable to be around him. Her past was hurtful, but his help was the light down the dark path. Her tail swished behind her as the wind began to pick up. "I would love to have you around... It helps with my fear." she said with a light blush as she looked down to her hooves.

Kendrick watched her a bit more and nodded. "If that's what you want. Don't expect anything great though." He gave a small smile as he rubbed the back of his head with a wing. "I'm not the most fun person to be around but I guess I can be soothing since you say my presence is already soothing..." Now he was wondering how he did that.. Oh well. "Do you have a place to stay I could take you to?" His head lifted to the wind, his mane whipping back from his face. He could scent the storm coming as well as see the clouds blowing in. "You shouldn't be out here when those clouds roll in."

Cloee nodded then pointed her horn towards the way her home was. "It's close by and hidden well enough to keep others away unless they have become lost and stumble upon it. It's where I've been since that day." She told him as she pointed off towards the forest that had the moutains behind them. "Stay close or you could get lost." She said as she walked a head of him a little, but waited till he was close enough to follow behind.

He nodded and followed behind her, keeping an eye and ear on the approaching storm. "Don't worry I won't lose you." She said it was close by but even then they may have to pick up their pace if the storm kept up its pace because it was gaining on them. "Better pick it up a little if you don't want to get wet." There was a loud rumbling in the distance that slowly carried in their direction. "Looks like a nasty one... Freak storms are just so pleasant," sarcasm was heavy.
