We learned tonight that we're doing Sesame Street. Some leadership are VERY unhappy with it, but they need to suck it up and get over it.

We're doing a space theme. I think the official name is The Planets but everyone has pretty much nicknamed it to Highlanders in Space, which was actually one of the many guesses that have been running around for this year's show them for the past year and a half or so xd . There's a reason why the speculation for this year is so long. For the past ten years, we've been doing a saga that was based on the places the Highland Regiment traveled to and fought at (a trend that kind of explains why most of the guesses were "Highlander in {insert name of a place}). Next year is the first year that we're doing something non-saga related. Sadly, though, as a senior, I won't be able to play in next year's show, and the music sounded so epic, too crying . Although, according to my friend next year's show probably isn't going to be good because the epic music also happens to be overused neutral .

I graduate in a week so I'm kinda mad that I couldn't have one more year of marching band but my school's theme next year is based off the Russian ballet Patrushka. It's about carnival puppets that come to life and the good guy falls in love with the ballerina puppet but she goes for the bad guy/jerk puppet and the good guy goes on a rampage throughout the carnival then gets killed by the bad guy and the good puppet's ghost appears at the end to haunt the carnival (as you can see, it'l take all 5 movements of the show to tell the story and I'm kinda worried if they can pull it off). All of the music for the ballet is written by Igor Stravinsky which is pretty beast. XD

Ours is going to be a Latin theme =D (it matches my avatar!)
He hasn't told us what music is going to be in the actual show yet, but he showed us a few shows previously done that has some music that's being considered. Madison Scout 1988, 1995, and Blue Devils 1998. I swear, I was getting goosebumps xD I can't wait for it!

We might do a Beethoven theme, but our directors new and hasn't decided yet. She'll be either mailing it like always or we will get ti at band camp =/

our band is doing a Glee show. (isn't that exciting). our bd is adiccted to that tv show. we are doing dont stop belevin, jump, and defying gravity. and maybe gold digger.

Ours is patriotic because we're marching in D.C. for the fourth of july parade in 2012. I just made the color guard squad, so I'm kinda nervous. I'm only a sophomore next fall!

Our show is going to be incredible this year. We only know the opener (Cirque du Soleil) and the second movement (Defying Gravity) so far, but its going to be epic. New uniforms, and we are reaching 132 (not including 20 guard) for 2011. Going to be an awesome senior year. On the side of the field there is gonna be a stage with a few of the drama kids acting out and talking about the music, and its going to be awesome. I'm so excited. biggrin

Music will be completely original, so we haven't heard or seen it yet.
The idea is "hunt or be hunted", "predator/prey", stuff like that.
