Seeing Dialga smile warmly back at him, Lancelot could only smile back in return. It was refreshing having someone to talk to.
As the two reached the top of the hill, Lancelot looked up and saw the bright blue and cloudless sky. "There, quite warm, don't you agree?" he said. "So where do you two hail from, if you do not mind myself asking?"

Finally, the summit. Dialga shook out her fur and felt a shiver go down her back as the warmth came in contact with her chilled skin. "Muuuuch better," she agreed and sprawled out on the grass with her libs all askew. She tilted her head so that she could still see Lancelot and thought back to where they spent most of their time. "I guess you could say Catalia, but with Shani's tendency to want to explore we're never there long," she explained and braced herself as she saw movement out of the corner of her eye.
They couldn't escape now that Dialga was laying down and Shani took the opportunity to attack! With a burst of speed she dashed up the small bit of the hill she had yet to climb and pounced on Dialga for a second then ran off down the other side. "Tag!"

Taking the initiative, Lancelot laid down only a couple of feet away from Dialga and relaxed in the sun. "I see. I personally was never much for extensive traveling. I—"
Lancelot tensed as he saw Shani jump from the hill side and landed on her companion. Within the second Shani was gone. "I don't suppose you plan on following her do you?" he said to Dialga with a tired tone.

Dialga chuckled at his exasperation and shook her head, rolling onto her side to watch Shani disappear down the hill. "No, she'll have worn herself out again by the time she reaches the bottom and will be asleep by the time I've caught up. Unless you're tired of my company already?" she teased and closed her eyes.

"Of course not." Lancelot responded with a grin. "I'd just hate to lose good company so quickly. Do you enjoy traveling so often? I would find it tiring after a while, I believe. I'd miss my home far too much."

Good company, that was a first. She flushed a little bit at the compliment and rolled over onto her side. "It gets tiring, but then I feel like I have an obligation to watch over Shani," she admitted and sighed.
"What about you? Do you ever go out and explore?" she was curious because it seemed that he was very protective of his territory. They kind of complimented each other in a strange way.

"I see." he replied looking off to Shani's form at the bottom of the grassy hill. At the question he looked back at Dialga and pursed his lips slightly in thought. "I explore my lands. There's always something new for me to find here, I'm never not surprised when I make my rounds. And at the same time, I'm comforted by the familiarity."
"Is there no one else to watch over Shani? Surely you're not the only one watching over her."

"I suppose if you're content with what you're doing I have no right to find fault in it, yes?" she mused and opened her eyes, following his gaze down to the pink bundle. "I guess one of the others could watch her but I feel like they wouldn't do as good of a job as I do," she nibbled on her lower lip after the admittance.

There, he gave a hearty laugh as he looked back at Dialga. "Feel free to point out a flaw if you see it. I understand what you mean; it's hard to leave something you feel responsible for. I can sympathize.
"So you travel in a group? How large is your group and why are you not together with them today?"

He was laughing at her again and she blushed. "We all live together, not necessarily travel. It's Shani and I plus four others. Five females and one male who thinks he's a gift to all female kind," she rolled her eyes and shifted to her other side, just a little while longer and she'd be dry.
"One of the other females is pretty much Shani's twin in personality. Then there is the quiet one, and the newest addition is the sweetest out of the group," she explained and thought back to the other four, wondering how they were doing.

A chuckle escaped the image of the group interacting flashed in his head. "How interesting your companions must be! It must be very entertaining to travel with such a group."
"I personally do not have as many acquaintances as you. However your male companion reminds me one of my own. His is called Sir Dude, very arrogant at times. Rude at times as well, and finds many things laughable. A very lighthearted fellow." Lancelot said back with a warm smile on his face as he thought about his friend. "I haven't seen him in quiet a while however.
His heavy clothings were still wet with the muddy lake water and Lancelot shifted in discomfort. It was becoming more tempting to relax and take off his jacket, but he couldn't risk it becoming more dirty than it already was.

"There is rarely a dull moment, I can tell you that." She nodded and sat up. Now that she was pretty much dry she turned her attention to the task of getting all the foliage out of her fur that had managed to stick.
She stopped her grooming to consider his description of this Sir Dude. "Sounds like the two of them shouldn't get together," she observed and chuckled while shaking her head. "I think just one at a time is more than enough." She went back to getting the grasses off her body and had gotten almost all of it but she could feel a few briers on her shoulders where she couldn't reach. "Could you help me get these things off?"

"I would think so." Lancelot agreed with a knowing smile. "And I secretly hope they never do as well. I wonder what damage they'll cause together..." He hummed as he let the scenario run wild in his head. "Quiet chaotic."
He looked quickly back at Dialga at her question, a slightly embarrassed look on his face. "I- well. I would be glad to." He got up slowly and walked in his normal confident pace in order to cover the awkward feeing growing in his stomach. As knowledgeable as he thought himself to be, Lancelot had very little interactions with someone he thought was- well, attractive. "H-how do you want me to...?"

Dialga glanced back over her shoulder at the annoyances and then up to Lancelot. To be honest she hadn't exactly given the mechanics of removing the briars much thought before she asked for his help. "Well, I don't know. Do you think you could get them without pricking yourself of having them get stuck to you?"

"Yes, I believe I could." Though that wasn't the problem that was bother Lancelot. Being so close, intimately almost, to Dialga was diving into something he had no experience in.
Realizing that the task would probably damage his silk coat, Lancelot shrugged off his outer clothing, exposing his white shirt. Though he didn't want to get his jacket dirty, it was preferable to it being torn apart by the burs. His shirt was still wet and his rich orange fur was easily seen through the transparent cloth.
Gathering his confidence (really, he didn't have any when it came to situations like this) he went over to Dialga's back and began to pick out the small burs from her fur, careful not to pull her blue strands. "I apologize ahead of time if this hurts."
