"My mother, where is she now?"
"She be dead." he said bluntly. "P-Passed 'way, I mean. She died when ya were two an' ya were so youn' ya don' 'member squat." Sorano cringed his teeth than and Len knew he wasn't telling the whole truth. She was ready to try her tactic again but Sorano cried out in halt.
"Oh gods, damn it . . . " he sighed. "Ya know there is more, huh?"
"You were never a good liar."
"Arceus . . . dad . . . married Joanna aft, but she gots 'eally sick. Since he couldn' take the med bills, carin' for a me momma in Saff and her dyin', he well . . . "
"He abandoned her, didn't he?"
Sorano sagely nodded his head. Len simply stood and kicked the nearest object, a metallic pail nearby. She huffed and grunted, spouting, "You ******** idiot!" over and over as she beat the bucket into submission. Her anger was evident, with the item covered in dents, but she sighed and turned back to now Lilith.
Len looked, considering her now, and chuckled happily. "My, what a fine line you have crossed, big brother." she mocked. "Wonder what more secrets you have to tell, hmm?"
One she knew very well.
"Len, ya can' be . . . ya 'romised ya won' . . ."
"You tell one secret, I share another. Maybe Lilith could tell you hers."
"Len, please, don'-"
"Oh Lilith! Your dear prince has been pricking thorns behind your back." she smirked. "One, to be precise, a certain girl he so-called engaged and so-called, suppose to have, you know . . . forgotten about? Her memory didn't die though. Oh no. She renewed herself. Tis not hard. It is not hard at all to get to Kodo, grab a motel, and swipe a V card."
"By the gods, Len! Lilith, look it was only-"

Suddenly brought into the conversation, Lilith looked over skeptically at Lennyka from her sitting position on the floor. At the mention of some secret Sorano apparently had, Lilith began to worry. What did some secret have to do with her...? "What're you...-"She fell silent. The whole world seemed to have shifted on its axis. Lilith's eyes turned to a thousand-yard stare, and as she tried to stand, her feet wobbled underneath her. Using her hand as a balance against the wall behind, Lilith slowly - very, very slowly - stood, her face facing down towards her feet. When she looked up, it was plain to see the tears now flowing in full force down her face, her jaw slightly agape in her shock. "You... You..." Trembling, Lilith sobbed and screamed. "You <********> You a**! You-!"Unable to stand any longer, Lilith crumbled and fell to her knees, face in her hands, sobbing loudly. Oh, Arceus... How could he do this to her? He lied to her. Played her like a ********' fool. She was such an idiot. Oh yes... Such an idiot... This was her punishment for straying from her chosen path. Why should she deserve anything more than the worst? Why should she ever be happy?!

Sorano rushed to her, arms outstretched. Even with the cursed names stabbing him like venom tipped daggers, he ran to her.
"Lili, wait, let me 'plain-"
"What's there to say?" Lennyka said, raising her chin in triumph. "You've done her wrong, played her worse than than a game of whist. Should you even be-"
"Ya . . . b-b***h!"
"Mm, twenty-two years you've known me and now you call me something so horrid? Am I a stranger? No longer family since I now know the truth?"
His brain was being pulled in two directions, from a teetering desperation to a hell raging well, rage. What mattered to him more now? Len, his, considering now, only family currently or the only feel of love he ever obtained in his life?
"Lili, please, stop cryin'."
"Played her like a game of paille-maille on the lawns of Versailles! Hah!"
Poppa got it lucky not running into these problems, huh?

Lilith turned her face away from Sorano, clutching her arms in defiance. The tears continued flowing as if they had been held back for years, so many years, and the dam holding back the river had broken. No, no, no... Not even she deserved this. Not even her, who had dared to stray from the path chosen of her, deserved this treatment. When Sorano tried to calm her, all she could do was shake her head. "No... No..."Something snapped into gear in Lilith's head. Slowly, calmly, she began to stand from her seated position and looked Sorano dead in the eye. Her face was tight with rage and pain. Her voice was quiet, but clear. "Sorano... I trusted you. I... I loved you. I still love you." A few more tears fell. Lilith shut her eyes. "But... how could you not tell me? How could you...? How could you..." The sobs came again, unceasing now. ...What did Lilith have left in her life now? An unsteady faith and a broken heart. That was all.

Len just sat back and watched, enjoying the ridiculous casting of a lovely duo going through a crisis. By Arceus, why couldn't they just split ways and end it all?
"C-'Cause I was tryin' ta 'void . . . " he paused. "what is happenin' now. Lili, look, I messed up. No, I effed up an' I can' make up fer what I done. I was drunk, ya see, she asked me out ta drinks an'-"
"You made her night at a motel down the block. Yea, typical story. Are you two going to duke it out yet?"
Sorano cringed. "Listen, Lili, I love ya . . . an' I don' know how ta 'pologize. I jus' don'-"
"Don't take him back!" cried Len. "He's a douche, a fool! Do you really want used goods?"
She really wasn't making anything better.

Shut it all out... All she wanted to do was shut it out... But she couldn't. No. The sounds still kept ringing in her head. Even if Lilith tried covering her ears, it would be to no avail. In that case, her heart would act as her ears, hearing and remembering all. The fact that Len kept playing the part of the peanut gallery was not helping in the slightest, and it took all that Lilith had not to knock her lights out. But no, no, no, noooo... She could not harm her. She promised. Ah, but what good were promises now that the secret-to-end-all-secrets was out and about, floating on the air like a confused Drifblim. Eventually, the last remaining reservoir of patience that Lilith had had drained, and her hands balled up into fists. She shot a sideways glance to Lennyka, eyes narrowed. "Shut the ******** up. This does not concern you. This is between Sorano and myself, and unless you want me to make me to go back on my solemn word - which I intend to keep - then kindly shut your trap."

"I don't intend on doing such a thing!" she gasped like a Victorian woman come the first revealing of neck skin. "There is more, much more . . . more that Sorano will never tell you, yet I know. He confides information to me like a diary. Do you know what me tells his best friend Moose? "Oh, she's nothin' but a game!" and "This chick, yea, she was easy to win over. Only a few pretty words-"
Sorano, this time, had aimed to do what he never though he'd do: hit his sister. He was annoyed beyond belief and her extra commentary only rise the heat of his internal thermometer. It was damn time she shut the hell up! However, she wasn't a stupid girl. Just as she had done before, she levered away from his attack and stuck a good knee joint into his stomach, breaking him to the floor.
"Attempt something again and I will kill you." she said. "I haven't spent my entire time here searching for outside relationships or reading books, Sorano." No matter how much of a book nerd she was, she needed some physical activity too. "Like I said before, you're nothing but filth to TR."
She spat here and than made her leave, arms crossed over her bosom. "I'll leave you two squawking heads of a Doduo later. I've some information to milk out of a certain fool."
With that, Len turned and left with a sashay to her hips. This new Len, whoever she was, was something else. Expect more of her in the future!
"Lili . . . " He coughed. "Arceus . . . "
Taken down by his own half sister . . . maybe he really was filth.

Lilith felt numb. She did not regret saying what she did to Len, oh no. That insane woman had it coming. But perhaps not even she expected or deserved to be struck down. Lilith could see it coming and looked away, not wanting to see the man she loved hurt his own sister.... well, half-sister now. Of course, there was probably much, much more about Sorano that she had no idea he was capable of, she thought. She did not, however, see the retaliation from Len coming, and she was startled by the ferocity of the counter-attack. Finally, though, Len left their presence. All that was left was her and Sorano. Oh Gods... What was she do to? ...Perhaps all that was left was to tell her own secret. "Sorano... I... I haven't been completely honest with you, either. It's not like what you did..." Lilith laughed bitterly and looked away. She grew somber once again. "...But it's still important. It's about... why I joined Team Rocket."Well... There was no turning back now.

"Lili . . . " Pain radiated deeply from the middle of his abdomen. Lennyka surely had jabbed him well there. He felt the same when he was bedridden, unable to move his body with the familiar sensation of blood tingling all over. It was terrible . . . and he wasn't in the mood to return to a hospital bed.
"Lili, ya don' hafta tell me anything." he said as he arched his neck towards her. "Ya don' hafta, I'm serious . . . "

Lilith shook her head, grimacing. "No, no, I have to tell you! And I have to do it now!"Her hands balled up tightly into fists as she stepped backwards, leaning her back against the wall of the room. She took a long, deep breath and exhaled. If she did not tell him now, she might never have the chance. "You know that I was born in Ecruteak, right? See, I was born to a family with a very long lineage, one that went back to the founding of the city and the building of the towers. Back then, most people viewed Pokemon as gods, particularly the Legendary Pokemon." A sigh escaped her lips as she paused for a moment. "Well, my family... For several generations, we have held onto those beliefs. It was what I was raised on. I got my education from my mother and father, and from the monks of the towers. I suppose you could say that it was because of my past that I seem so distant to everything." A pause. "For a few years, I had set out on my own with Serafina to become a Trainer, believe it or not. When I returned home without anything to show for my actions, I grew lost from my path. I didn't know what I could do with my life.
It was then that I went to the Tin Tower. Despite my leaving, I kept steadfast to my family's religion. I prayed for a long time at the Tower, and eventually, I... I felt like I had a revelation." Lilith's glassy eyes were turned downward, not wanting to meet those of Sorano's. Her voice drew raw with emotion. "It was like Ho-oh had spoken to me, and declared that my destiny was to prove to the world the awesome and terrible power of Pokemon. That was my fate. The only way I could think of fulfilling such a thing was to... to join Team Rocket."A sad little smile could be seen on Lilith's lips. "It's sounds so stupid, and looking back on it, I know that it was. I threw away everything, every chance I could have had for a normal life, on the unsure basis that I had a destiny that was worth something! On the reasoning that I was worth something! Now... Now, I'm not so sure." Tears quickly gathered themselves in the corners of her eyes. "I've made more enemies than friends, I've isolated myself from the entire world, I've had people make death threats to my face... And you." Here, Lilith locked her eyes with Sorano. "You appeared, and you made me feel... happy. Happier than I had been years. Hell, maybe even more than in my entire life! I felt normal. But, no... I was too much a fool. I made a mistake for joining the most evil organization in the world to fulfill something holy, and I have to live with it. Why should I have any right to fall in love?"...Now, wasn't that a mouthful?

"Lili . . . " If only he had the damn strength to get up and console her. Damn Lennyka! He could not deny, however, his utter want not to hug her. His half-sister's words had gotten to him. He really was filth . . . and had no utter right to taint the very soul he honored by him.
Her tale was another lone secret that should have stayed to the shadows. All this information should have just stayed to the shadows! "Lili . . . " Arceus, what the hell had he done? Len was mad at him, he had done something wrong, Lili was spilling her past. Would their relationships ever be the same?
He regretted ever meeting Lili now, no- He regretted ever keeping that picture. No, he regretted most of all that day in Celadon City where he and his half-sister was separated. It was the day that strong emotional bond was formed.
"Len! Are you stupid?! Don't ever get separated from me again!"
"S-Sorano . . . y-you just left me here!" Her face to sweater was stained in so much tears. She had cried so much. "I was so scared!"
"Len, Len . . . Len, I-I promise not to leave you alone again, okay? Come on, let's get home before mom yells at us."
"O-Okay."
We had turned to leave here but she paused.
"What's wrong?"
"Do you promise?" she had asked. "Do you promise, never? Just for me? Yep, pinky promise? Sorano, you won't leave me alone right? You won't die right? Won't run away right? You'll take me with you right?"
"Yea, I will." It was here I l knotted my pinky with hers. Why did I ever do that? Why was I so afraid to lose her? Was it because of the punishment that would follow or was it because I was scared of loneliness . . . because she was always there, my sister, with me . . . from Pokemon school to back? Arceus, I should have just left her!
He had broken that promise of seventeen years. He really was filth.
"Lili, calm down . . . " he muttered. "Ya 'ave as much 'ight ta fall in love as any otha person er Pokemon on this planet. Ya 'ave tha 'ight ta fall in love as many times as ya can, not jus' once."
He paused.
"Not jus' once. So does I. We can fall in love 'gain, with otha people . . . if tha' is what ya want, now." He could take it, he was a man.
"I 'urt ya an' I don' have tha 'ight, as of now, ta be with someon' as great as ya. I am filth, hurtin' tha people I love with so much secrets. Ya 'ave tha' 'ight ta go out an fall in love 'gain. I don' . . . so I unda . . . stan' if ya want ta stop this now."
Would it be worth it?

Lilith just laughed - one that was not out of humor, but out of pain. Have you ever noticed how people laugh when they are hurt? "The right, the right... I gave up such a right when I entered this hell of a place. Who would fall for the likes of me?" As she spoke, though, she turned and got a glimpse of Sorano's squinted eyes. His chivalrous attitude, his joking demeanor... Yes, that was what she fell for. That was what she loved. But did she really deserve him, truly? Did he deserve her? Lilith's eyes turned soft with emotion. "Sorano..." Without thinking, she walked over to him, fell to her knees, and planted her lips on his. A moment passed, and she slowly pulled away. "...I'm as filthy as you. And who better would filthy people like us be suited for than each other?" That small smile appeared on her visage once again. "I don't forgive you for not telling me about what you did, but I can forgive you for being an idiot, if you can forgive me."

"Of course I do, I'd be a damn fool if I didn'." He wrapped an arm around her, the only part if his body he could only move while in his state. "Don' leave me Lili, please?" A promise to her, he hopes she won't break.

Softly, Lilith chuckled and rested her head on Sorano's shoulder, letting him wrap his one arm about her. She, in turn, held onto him with her own arms in an odd sort-of sideways hug. "...I won't leave you, Sorano. I promise. And you'll never leave me either, right?" Little did Lilith know exactly what those words might mean to Sorano, but she cared not. There was just her and her love - nothing else. If they were both filth, then why could the filth not love each other?
