The ghoul glanced behind her at him. Looks like the beat had run off again but the whip had been retrieved which was the entire point of this escapade. At least something had been gained but now they were locked in. Holly watched him try the door. She half expected him to punch the thing down the way he had been acting earlier.

She grinned. They hadn't even introduced themselves yet! Well the beast would have gotten away if they had stopped to do so anytime earlier. "Holly, nice to meet you. And now that introductions are out of the way..." How were they going to get out?

Holly looked from the door to the tunnel the hellhunter took. She only really saw the one option. "I have no idea but an exciting first meeting huh? Think that thing knew the way out?"

West nodded. "Mmm hmm. It'd better know th'way out." He spared one last glance at the strange wall full of baskets before he started down the path the hellhunter had taken. Hopefully there wouldn't be any tiny tunnels up ahead, or if there were, hopefully Holly would still fit through them and be able to find a door to open somewhere.

He grinned. "Excitin' yeah. I couldoo wit'less excitemen'next time." Despite his words, West's tone was definitely amused. He wasn't normally one for strange adventures, but so far this diversion had proven to be more fun that he would have thought chasing a thieving minipet could be.

Several steps out of the room and into the next tunnel, West came to a stop once again. The path ahead was forked, one side brightly lit and one pitch black. "This's stupid," he declared, turning back to Holly. "Which way now?" He had seen enough movies to make him question whether or not the obvious path was the safest one.

"Yeah. Who even built this place you know? It's so strange." She thought it was weird first the door locks on them. There were those things on the wall and tunnels too. At least she'd be able to find away out. Wait. She was a ghost was she not she'd be able to just walk through the door anyway though she doubted it would work from the other side.

Holly shrugged. "You could always remember me as that ghoul you got lost with?" She chuckled, she was defiantly remembering him by a similar description.

Hmmm. "Really a fork in the road? How would I know." What were the chances. "Wouldn't it be the light one..." The fox ghost sniffed the air once as best a ghost could. "Huh, the air smells fresher the darker way though." Jack. Really. Who would build a place, this place was confusing.

West's brief chuckle joined Holly's and he nodded. "Yeah, s'pose I could r'memeber y'tha'way. Or as th'ghoul I die with iffit comes t'that." He shrugged. The thought didn't seem to bother him, nor did he come to the conclusion that as a ghost, she wouldn't be likely to die anyway. For that matter, as a being composed and powered by FEAR, it was not even possible for he himself to truly die, but an unlifetime locked in a system of catacombs would be just as bad as true death, in his opinion. For some reason, the demon often tended to think in human terms anyway, even though he knew little to nothing of their society.

He glanced back and forth between the passages, then sighed and strode down the darker of the two. "This's so a trap," he muttered.

"Hm, well, true. I couldn't say so for the second, you'd die and I can't. Dying isn't fun." Holly wondered if he forgot she was a ghost. Normally she didn't look all ghosty anyway since she wasn't in her normal form. Anyway she wasn't one to just leave someone in a place like this. Funner this way to her than just phasing out and away.

She grinned a bit and shrugged. "Probably but we won't know until we go down one way." The ghoul started down that way as well. "So what's your deal, why ya going to this infernal school?" Might as well start up some useless conversation before getting lead to their possible doom.

"Hrm," he mumbled by way of reply. West had experienced several brushes with death lately, but obviously never the real thing. He quickly deduced that it might be rather unpleasant. Finally, her words seemed to sink in. Right, ghost. Well, if things got too dire, she could always go for help. For now, this was better than homework.

Or at least it had been. If there was one thing West didn't enjoy talking about, it was his past. He narrowed his eyes in the dark, wondering if someone put her up to asking him about things he'd rather leave buried, or if she was just an unlucky conversationalist. "Problems. Wit' my other school. Fights." He was deliberately vague, hoping that she would come to the conclusion that the fights were of the punching variety. "Ima kinder, gent'lr West now," he quipped, his tone tinged with a bit of false amusement. This tunnel really did seem fresher, a bit of outdoor air mixing in with the more indoor stuff he'd been breathing until now.

She sighed. "Okay, I actually don't remember dying but it probably wasn't fun." But it was probably fun for the infernal students that helped to cause her death... At least it brought her to this world instead of the other. She glanced at the boil then back ahead. If it took too long she could just scout by herself, she'd be faster alone.

From the sound of it he hadn't wanted to talk that much. She wasn't sorry she picked that topic of possibly many, at least he couldn't hurt her if she were to phase out. "You in fights, really?" Holly said in a sarcastic tone. "I can certainly see that." If this was kind for him she wondered what he was like before. "There are other schools though? Not a surprise to me I don't know much about this entire place yet..." It was fresher, defiantly. There was slight movement in the tunnel up ahead that caught her eye.

"You see that?"

West chuckled. "Yeah, I didn' like m'other school much. Amityville's better." He didn't offer any further comments on the frequency of his fighting. Better that Holly imagine just how formidable he might be than he brag about it. If they ran into each other in the future, she would come to see for herself that his level of badass was mindblowingly awesome. He shrugged. "I dunno where t'start explainin'bout Halloween," he said. "It'd be like tellin'ya'bout why my insides work."

He might have attempted further pseudo-scientific eloquence if he hadn't been distracted by the same flash of movement Holly commented on. "Hm. Wassit red?" West thought it had been, but he wasn't sure. "Lessgo."

The demon jogged forward, turned the corner and stopped. There was a door ahead of them, the dim light from outside streaming underneath it. West took a few more steps and tried the knob. When it didn't budge, he kicked at the thing, but it was more than wood and didn't even rattle with the impact. He grunted angrily. How had whatever they'd been following get out? "Where're we s'posd'ta..." His gaze was drawn back the way they had come. Several feet away near the ceiling, there was a hole, too high and small for him to figure out a way into himself, but... If it wasn't going to be ridiculously awkward, West thought he might be able to lift Holly's fox form up there. Mrrgh. He really didn't want to ask her if he could pick her up like a doll. Instead he sighed and tried the door again, but it, of course, remained locked.

Although she hadn't been there too long the school wasn't that bad. The classes were fine and so were the students. Holly couldn't really imagine what another school would even be like. She'd remember to watch out for the fighting later. He didn't seem to be in a fighting mood, she could totally take him, but rather have him on her side if anything. The ghoul nodded and shrugged. "Eh, I'm just as fine with figuring this place out as I go."

"Red? Think so." She ran after him and whatever it was they saw. Stopping at the door she watched West attempt to open it. The ghost grinned, really? Her eyes wandered up and saw the hole too. She almost came to the same conclusion then literally almost smacked herself for being dumb. "Allow me." Holly fazed her arm through the door and unlocked it from the other side then pulled her arm back out from the door. "After you or you too scared and want me to go first?" The ghoul smirked.

West nearly smacked himself for being so stupid. Again. He shook his head, breaking into a grin instead. "Ghost. Riiiiiight." It was fairly obvious that he had yet to spend much time with Holly's ilk either at home or at school.

"I'll go," he quickly volunteered. He wasn't scared of a stupid Hellhunter or a strange, mysterious maze of caves, he just didn't happen to be a ghost and couldn't phase his arm all over the place. That didn't mean he was hesitant, mrrpth. He stepped past Holly and pushed the door open, catching it before it slammed into the rock. The animal he had been following was right there, and if the whip in his hand had possessed the power to work on any animal other than his miniature bull, he would have lashed out at the creature in front of him in retaliation. As it was, the thing ran off again as soon as West took a step toward it.

He dropped his clenched fists to his sides. "Lettit go. I guess," he muttered reluctantly. Now that they were back outside, all the boil wanted to do was get back to his dorm and finish the stupid homework assignment he had been in the middle of when this entire ordeal had started. He turned to face Holly. "Welllll... tha'was fun, right?" he asked with a smirk.

Holly grinned. "Yep have been my entire life, er, afterlife." To tell the truth she had forgotten a few times that she could phase through things and such. There wasn't a guidebook or anything to being a ghost or anything.

Glad he went first. Not that things could hurt her but he probably won't had liked if she went off first. Holly didn't like surprises either so this way anything that happened would happen to him. Which seemed to be nothing. The creature had led them out of this infernal place. She wasn't complaining or anything but slightly sad that this adventure was over. "Yeah, lots and lots of fun. " She grinned. "Now back to boring school stuff right? Fun."

"Yeah..." West stood on his toes for a moment, trying to see past the mound of dirt the door they had just emerged from was set into. Where was the school from here? "I've got... bot'ny I should gebback to." He sounded simply thrilled about the prospect. "So yeah, if'ya ever need help witha tiny animal'r'anythin'..." The demon grinned and punched his fist into his palm before turning and strolling toward the demon dorms.

"Nice't'meetya, Holly," he said over his shoulder.

Holly glanced back at the door as well. Where the Jack were they? Worst case she'd just phase back through were they had came from... although following the outside of this hill thing may lead back too. "Botany? I've got, ugh, etiquette to get stuff done for." Oh that class, how'd she even end up in that. She didn't care about properness at all. She grinned. "Sure, and uh if you ever need doors opened don't hesitate to ask." Okay, she had to poke at him forgetting she was a ghost.

"Same, West." She waved once and started on her way back as well.
