"Er... maybe that's not quite what's going on..."
Lenore nodded.
"I wouldn't letcha drown, Shammi. Honest." She said patiently. " Besides, Mum'd be mad at me if there was a chameleon-ghost going around haunting ever'body. She'd probably ground me or something."
Wading around aimlessly, she splashed at the water experimentally with her free hand.
"You want to try it now?"

"Well, what else could it be? Silly little lizard." Fondness colored Erishi's words.
"Shammi coote gost." She said, grumbling a bit. Well, Shammi didn't exactly know how to swim. She knew how to splash quite well, so she tried that. Splashy splash splash! Poor Len did not have a tail to splash with!

Julian decided not to comment further, merely shrugging.
Len grinned at Shammi.
"There you go. See, not so bad at all." She said, twitching her own tail in a feeble attempt to splash. The waterlogged feathers drifted in the water, some shedding a bit of dander. Len huffed.
"You're lucky, you know." She said to Shammi with a bit of jealousy. "Your tail's much neater than mine."
Wading back towards the ladder, Len grumbled as she felt a few of the weighed-down feathers fall out. Turning abruptly to scoop them out of the water, Len felt her feet slip out from under her on the slippery tiles.
"Agck-blub!"
Holding Shammi up high and dry, Len blew bubbles in irritation under the water. Way to be graceful.

Shammi admired her tail. It was nice, wasn't it? So long and grabby.
"Awk! Len?!" Shammi cried when Len tripped. She was nice and safe from drowning, but what about Len? Shammi didn't want to be haunted by Len ghost! "Len! Len!" She called, tugging on Len's arm as if she were trying to pull the girl out of the water.

Julian couldn't help but start laughing, though he felt bad about it.
"Len, you okay?"
Len was still underwater. Holding Shammi up, she blew out the rest of her air in a huff and struggled to surface, trying to keep the girl dry at the same time. This proved to be pretty much impossible.
Sorry, Shammi, she thought to herself, and in a desperate twist to get herself upright again dunked the girl halfway into the water as she surfaced. Snatching the toddler up again as though the water was boiling hot, she winced at the sight of a dripping wet chameleon in her arms and waded quickly (not to mention carefully) back to the side of the pool. Setting Shammi down on the side, she grinned ruefully.
"Sorry." She offered, trying to pat the girl dry with her own discarded shirt. "I slipped."

"Len-Len okies?" Shammi asked, reaching out to grab some of Len's hair. "No swip no mow!" She scolded, waggling a finger. "Len gost scawy!"
Frowning at the water on her little person, Shammi wiggled her toes. "Cold. Wet. Shammi no like wawa."

Len sighed, nodding as best she could now that Shammi had a fistful of her hair.
"Yeah, I'm okay. Sorry I dunked you," she said as she climbed out of the pool, grabbing her towel and carefully drying Shammi off. "There. Good as new."
Wringing the towel out and wrapping around her own shoulders, she frowned at the pool.
"Hmph. Well, least it's better than half-drownin' in the lake," she muttered to herself. Catching herself before she started swearing, she smiled at Shammi and ruffled the girl's hair.
"Once you get bigger you'll probably like it. Won't have to worry about a big pigeon like me dunking you under," she said.

New RP between Gee & Rose & Huni Retta ------- It had been so long since she'd been swimming. In fact, Green couldn't even recall the last time she'd even considered wearing a bathing suit. After that dreadful and embarassing incident a few years ago the mere thought of dipping into a pool brought a blush to her cheeks. However, she'd realised that she couldn't let her inhibitions jeapordize her children's chances to experience something so wonderful. So, after much thought she'd finally decided that it would be okay to take Rose swimming. This time her bathing suit did not have any strings attached. The blonde woman sighed and gently lifted Rose from her carrier. The baby was dressed in a pale lavender suit abd bright orange waterwings. On her left hand was a large, beat up puppet that was barely ditinguishable as a giraffe. With the baby in her arms, Green made her way towards the shallow end of the pool.

There was something to be said about swimming in water that had not been magically cleaned. And as far as Haze was concerned, none of it were good things. She groaned that the smell of chlorine would take forever to get out, that and even her second charge wanted to have a go at swimming.
Haze no longer brought Elias around in a stroller, he had the unfortunate luck to always end up with a defective stroller. Of course the Silarian couldn't help but suspect her first charge had something to do with them. Dressed in a two piece suit that was more concerned with accentuating her curves than covering skin, Haze entered the pool area with Elias, Habi and of course Retta.
Retta sensed the suspicious thoughts in her guardians head and she flashed a sweet, innocent smile at Haze. She even twirled around in her brand new pink frilly bathing suit. Retta wasn't about to do anything to ruin her chances at swimming. Her thoughts were interrupted when she spotted another Mishap.
"Haze, someone." She pointed, suddenly hiding behind her guardian's legs.

Green had somehow managed to to climb down the ladder and support Rose in her arms at the same time. Her swift descent hadn't allowed time to test the water and she gasped as the cool water sloshed around her hips.
Rose was a bit shocked by the sudden temperature change and wriggled in her mother's arms. Green struggled to hold on and rearanged Rose in her arms so that the baby's back was held securely against her chest.
Afterwards, Rose was the first to spot the strangers and the baby lifted up a puppet-covered arm and waved at the newcomers in that clumsy way that babies do.
"Hello," Green said with a kind smile on her lips.

"Yes, hello, might there be a lifewatch on duty in the swimming area?" Haze asked, scanning the pool. She was confident in her abilities to swim, but she was never in any position to watch over children! Especially not an infant and a young toddler.
Retta blinked at Rose and Green before shyly waving back at them. Alright, another Mishap and an infant at that! Would this one be as interesting as Pyren?
Elias clung tightly to Haze at the sight of the pool, he didn't want to go in the water that much was certain. He watched as his daemon pad up to the edge and dip a front paw in.

A lifegaurd?
Green hadn't considered that. She was comfortable with her swimming skills and new her limits and as she had brought Rose along Green hadn't originally planned on venturing more than waist-deep.
"I'm not sure," she answered the stranger and glanced around the room. There didn't appear to be any lifegaurd or staff member around.
Rose, pleased by the site of more children, was excitedly tugging on Green's earm with her puppet-covered hand. Then, after Green finally glanced at the babe, she cooed and pointed wildly at Retta, Elias and then Habi.
"Yes, Rose," Green sighed exasperatedly and used her free hand to pry her ear out of the baby's grasp, "I can see."
"I'm Green," she said and then smiled down at the child in her arms, "and this is Rose."

Haze frowned at the lack of lifewatches in this establishment, did they believe that all infants were capable of learning to swim on their own? Or were these infants naturally bouyant in water? Before she forgot her manners, Haze moved as close to the pair as physically possible without getting in the water.
"Greetings, I am Haze K. Wyndre, and these are my two charges. Kalderetta T. Wyndre, and Elias Injo. The unique little animal is Habi, Elias' pet," She explained with a smile.
Retta peered from behind Haze's legs, her tail raised to reveal the teacup attatched to it. "Hello," She murmured, "Nice meet you."
Elias whimpered and clung tighter to his guardian, he wanted to go home and began to wail at the top of his lungs.
Uninhabited, startled by his bonded's sudden keen, ended up in the pool. She thrashed wildly in the waters, creating small ripples until Haze fished her out.

"They're all such sweethearts," Green said with a wide grin.
"Hello," she waved at the Mishap toddler with her free hand, "Its nice to meet you, too."
The next series of events happened so swiftly that Green didn't have time to rush to little Habi's aid before Haze pulled her out. Rose, thoroughly startled and confused by Elias's cries, opened her mouth and wailed into her mother's ear.

Pool RP - Gullien, Azumi, Lassa and Osso:
Gullien plucked at her shirt, eyeing the smallish pool warily. Smallish compared to the lake, but definately big compared to... say, the bathroom at home, which is what Lassa was USED to swimming in. There was probably no possible way the kid could drown with her sitting right here, but... still. The memory of that time at the lake was still very fresh and frankly she wasn't paticularly wild about Lassa swimming here. The kid, on the other hand, clearly had her own ideas. It was this, or Lassa would flood out the bathroom. Again.
She fidgeted again, watching Lassa creep into the deeper water. This was just not a comfortable situation. Plus... she was pretty sure she was missing out on some kind of etiquette here. She hadn't been expecting the big sign in the women's room declaring "Swimsuits must be worn". Hopefully a tanktop and underwear was like a swimsuit, whatever those were.
Lassa meanwhile was properly clad in a boy's swim trunks appropriated from the lost and found and the outfit was completed with the extra t-shirt had brought. It didn't much matter though, there was very little of Lassa that could be seen. From the neck down she was all... milk cartons. Empty milk cartons tied here and there, forming a sort of poor and hydrophobic man's floaties. It may have looked a bit silly and was perhaps far overcompensating for Lassa's natural skills, but the little newt girl didn't mind. She looked cool and she was in water and everytime she started going in past her knees, Gulli would start twitching. Funfunfun!
