Artemis just so happened to hit a particularly sensitive spot on his shoulder and really quite by accident he retaliated with a sharp slash of his fangs towards the upper part of her neck before he let go. It was an instinctual reaction and he was of course incredibly sorry after he'd done it - no matter how much his shoulder hurt and his ear docked back in apology.

She must have struck a nerve with him that time as he was quick to bite back and she did not have the chance to move or avoid it. It stung but she saw him dock his ears out of the corner of her eyes. She could not blame him for the attack much like she doubted he could blame her for those she inflicted upon him. They were forced into this situation adn they were doing the best they could. And so she fought on. Even though he had bit her on a tender part of the neck she pushed the pain back and lunged forward, and ranked her claws against his chest.

That was it..he couldn't take it any more and when Artemis raked him across the chest Hero fell over onto his side in a completely melodramatic way with a great moan - as though her strike had been mortal. He was done fighting..he was tired but he could at least end the fight in a light hearted manner..so that Artemis and everyone watching knew there wasn't any hard feelings about it all and while his tongue rolled dramatically out of hi mouth in 'dead dog' fashion he cracked a eye open to give his mate an amused look.

Ah bless Hero and his melodramatics, it certainly made her laugh as he fell over on his side and pretended to be dead. She was breathing heavy and Hero too looked quite exhausted. Stepping forward she gave him a loving nudge and licked his cheek. "Let us never do that again." It was bad enough they had to fight once, but she refused to let it happen a second time, screw the pack she wasn't ever going to fight Hero again.

The alpha certainly cracked a grin at the sight - or more like cracked up. KK gigglesnorted at Hero's sudden dramatic flair as she trotted over to the pair. "Well! I think that makes up for you being a wuss for half the fight, eh?" she commented once she caught her breath, though she was still grinning at the both of them. "Think I know who's got the balls in this family. Anyway, you two go have a lovely rest over at Spell's spot a'fore we start the next part of the fightings."
She then turned and barked another laugh as she walked away, still quite amused.

Too bad the amusement wouldn't be lasting much longer.
