User Image Tithe grumbled as she stumbled awake. Jeez, it was weird waking up without Desmon and Nana around, but she'd deal. She had just returned from visiting the two actually. That damn idiotic 'Deava and adorable little girl, seriously, sometimes she wondered how the two survived without her.

The vixen stretched, yawning to reveal long canines before shaking herself off, accessories making a soft jangling sound as she did so. Her eyes flicked upon Maeve and another vixen, grumbling as she decided to see what was up with Maeve. It had been awhile since she saw Daedalus, and was slowly growing annoyed by the fact he wasn't around. Seriously, where was he?

"Yo Maeve, whose the new person?" Tithe called out, joining the side of the carer. The teacher stretched yet again, muscles flexing before lazily plopping back down. Seriously, you'd think the teacher would be less lazy. Her eyes focused on the new vixen, flicking her tail in greeting.

"Got yourself a nice coat there." She mused lightly, paw touching the studs across her muzzle absently. Really, she probably needed better manners.

Maeve was a little startled when the white and purple vixen approached her, but she recovered quickly enough and offered a small, welcoming smile. "Hello, and I believe I know the land well enough to answer ny questions you may have," she replied, "but honestly I learn something new every time I explore. There's so much to learn, after all. What would you like to know?"

Before the new vixen could respond, Tithe appeared, presumably from the cave where she had been sleeping when Maeve had left earlier that morning. She nodded a greeting at her, then shrugged and turned back to said 'new person.' She had yet to learn her name. "Which reminds me, I'm Maeve, and this is Tithe," she introduced to the white vixen.

Another vixen had arrived at the scene before Dervla could decided on an answer the grey vixens question. The newer, darker vixen seemed much more curt than the grey one Dervla had approached. Regardless, Dervla nodded acknowledgement to her.

"Thank you, Tithe." Dervla said respectively at the compliment she received once Maeve had started their names. "My name is Dervla. I'm a wanderer who wishes to learn more about this forest." As she spoke of the forest they were in, her eyes left the pair of vixens before her and scanned the trees around them. She thought for a moment before turning back to Maeve.

"How far does this forest stretch? What is it's main water source? How old is it? What sort of medicinal plants does it hold?" She began asking the questions slowly as her eyes roamed over the landscape again. The forest seemed to be holding so many secrets yet revealing everything at the same time.

Maeve thought about Dervla's questions, smiling mentally at the curiousity of this new vixen. "Well in this direction," she began, nodding in the direction away from Mt. Ilithyia, "the forest extends around ten to twelve miles. Then there's a large field, followed by a mountain range. The majority of that isn't exactly a part of the area that Tithe and I call home." She shrugged, one question down.

"Also, the main water source is a lake that's close to the base of that mountain, and the river tht flows off of it," she answered the second question. "I'm afraid I can't really answer your last two questions. I'm not an expert on medicinal herbs, or knowing the age of forests. There are rather tall, old trees on the other side of the river, but I can't say exactly how old they are."

Lumos idly let the windstream carry him where it wanted. There was nothing to do yet today, and Daedalus still hadn't shown up when he scanned the area. The Phim wasn't terribly concerned; the young Elder could take care of himself,

As Lumos was carried along by the wind, he spotted three small spots below him. Squinting, he recognized the gray coat of Maev and Tithe's red and black, but not the other. Deciding to meet the stranger, the Phim tucked his wings closer to him and descended to the ground, landing with a soft thump in the grass a few feet away.

Stretching his wings and tossing his hair back into some semblance of straightness, Lumos padded over to the group and nodded his head to Maeve in greeting. "Maeve...Tithe." He didn't have much in common with the brash female, and while he didn't necessarily dislike the other teacher...he certainly didn't go out of his way to speak with her.

Looking over at the new vixen, Lumos offered a smile. "Hello there. My name is Lumos, are you new to the area?"
PostPosted: Sun Jan 30, 2011 1:19 pm

"Hey Lumos." Tithe greeted the male with a flick of her tail, focusing on the new vixen once more. "The area around here is nothing like my old home, correct, but it's suited for many visitors at a time." She mused lightly, rubbing her ear with a paw. She glanced at the vixen, smirking to herself. Well, had this vixen never heard of their tribe before?

"I know some about medicinal herbs. Theres some that heal stomach aches round by the water source, and others that help you go to sleep nearby. I'm sure there are others, but thats the Shaman's job, not mine."

She grumbled quietly, her accessories jingling once more as she shook herself off, yawning. She finally stayed still long enough to smile at the new-comer. Recruits were good~

Dervla brought herself back to reality and focused on Maeve's answer. So the two vixens lived in the area then. Did they live here along or did they belong to a tribe? It would make sense to have a tribe in such a place as this. The vixen's attention then shifted to the 'Phim that had arrived while she was pondering asking about any tribes that might be in the area.

"I am." Dervla stated, nodding to the male. "My name is Dervla. I'm a wanderer who wishes to learn more about this forest." She stated again, now to the 'Phim instead of the vixens. Once she had addressed the 'Phim, Dervla turned back to Tithe and nodded to her remark. The mention of a Shaman confirmed that these three were in fact part of a tribe.

"May I speak with your tribes Shaman? I'm assuming the three of you are in a tribe and that you have a Shaman. Correct me if I am wrong." Dervla sat and glanced between the three of them. "I have learned of many medicinal herbs on my travels but I am not familiar with many of the plants in this area. I would like to ask your Elder for permission to stay on your lands for awhile and examine them. Can you take me to him or her?"

Maeve nodded a greeting at the newly-arrived Lumos, and smiled at Tithe gratfully as the Hunter answered Dervla's last questions. She was about to continue when a familiar scent caught her attention. Maeve turned her head in the direction she knew Daedalus would appear from, just a few moments before he made himself known to everyone.

His last trip for a long time had finally come to an end. Mt. Ilithyia already towered over him, but in a warm, welcoming way. Daedalus followed the Lethe toward the lands claimed for Orestes. He would have continued onto the mountain, if it hadn't been for the scent of nearby foxes in the forest. One such fox was unfamiliar to him, but Daedalus easily recognized Maeve, Tithe and Lumos as well. Endlessly curious, he approached the group. He could hear their conversation before he could see the group. The new fox, clearly a vixen by the sound of hr voice, was asking questions about the tribe. Before he heard anyone else answer, Daedalus himself answered her questions.

"As of right now, I'm afraid we're only a potential tribe, Miss," he said as he walked, finally visible through the trees. "We have yet to meet a fox interested in becoming a shaman." He stopped before the group, and smiled welcomingly at the new vixen, before glancing and nodding at the three others in turn. Turning back to the white and purple fox, he continued, "My name is Daedalus, and I am to be the Elder. I've also lived here longer than any other fox, from birth, in fact. Out of necessity I have learned many of the herbs in the area. Perhaps I can satisfy you're curiousity regarding them?"

Hael flapped her wings and turned in the air. Below her there was a group of foxes. This place was strange her and she didn’t really know what was going on. So she landed and decided to ask. She spun down and opened her wings in a beautiful and amazing landing. “Hello all.” The air was fresh and Hael felt great. “I was just wandering around when I saw you all. So what is going on.” Hael smiled at a white vixen that had a purple swirl on her front shoulder. There was a handsome male phim there too so she turned her gaze to him and looked him over and did the same to the other foxes in the area. They all seemed so interesting. Who knows she might make some friends.

Frostbite slid into the river. He clamored out of the water. Trying to shake his fur out he had to remove his clothes and step on them to help get the water out. He was alone and sad. Still it was better than being picked on by other foxes for being a permakit. He didn’t like being teased and mocked. Still it was sad being lonely. He sniffed a little and rubbed his nose with the back of his paw. I’m lost alone.. and unwanted.. I wish Zain where here so we could go flying.. At least he was nice to me .

She raised her head as Daedalus came, smirking at the male. "So, where have you been?" She turned to Dervla, flicking her tail at her Elder with a grin. "This is our beloved Elder, who likes to wander off time to time." She mused, clicking her tongue as she spotted a 'Phim. Her tail flicked, about to call the angel looking 'Phim something rude when she checked herself, sighed, and flicked an ear.

She had learned to be more polite by being with Nana and Adonis, she could hold her tongue.

"We are talking to Dervla here of her staying with us for a bit." She mused, tail flicking once more. "Name? I'm Tithe, pleasure to meet you."

Daedalus glanced at Tithe, a calmly amused look on his face. "Merely wandering, as you said," he answered. Simple, yet true. "Although, I decided while I was away that it was to be my last excursion away from the mountain -- at least for the foreseeable future -- so naturally I was gone a little longer than originally anticipated."

He ended with a small smile and turned to the newly arrived 'Phim. "Welcome, miss," he greeted her formally, with a small nod of his head. "And yes, as Tithe said, we were just in the process of making Dervla's acquaintance." He nodded to each vixen as he said their names.

Maeve examined the new 'Phim, and nodded in greeting. Believing it to be a little too crowded, she slipped off into the woods, toward the river not too far away. As she neared, she caught the scent of another new fox. Curious, despite having left the group for being too crowded, Maeve approached.

It was a blue and black, clothed kit standing near the river, and seeming to have just taken a dip into it. "Are you alright?" She called out, rushing up to the kit. "Did you fall in? Or go swimming willingly?" She wasn't sure of the circumstance, but felt worried either way.

Hael looked at the cross and angry looking vixen. “Oh really well that sounds interesting.” Hael looked to the male who was obviously in charge, he called the vixen that had addressed him as Tithe. The other vixen who stayed was Dervla. She still had no idea who the vixen that snuck out was or the name of the male. Still it was best to be polite when meeting new foxes. “I am Hael. I was unaware there were foxes in this area.”

Frost looked up shocked at the female who startled him. His eyes were saucer plates and he was a bit scared.“ Y-yes. I’m alright. I just slipped.” He backed away with his tail between his legs. He thought he had been alone in this place. Now there were other foxes around? Once they found out he was a perma they would tease him. Or perhaps they would simply tell him to leave.

Borealis sighed sleepily as she opened her eyes to the bright sunlight that was now streaming into her cave she called home. The constant sound of the waterfall that poured into a crystal clear lake was a comfort and brought her peace that nothing she had found yet in the world could bring. She stretched and yawned widely, deciding to go for a dip in the lake before exploring more of this gorgeous mountain forest she had stumbled upon. Trotting the few strides it took her to get out of her cave, she took a deep breath of fresh, crisp mountain air before running at full speed and diving headlong into the lake.

The water was cool and perfect for helping Borealis wake up all the way. Everything was so peaceful in the cool blue water, the sunlight streaming down to form tantalizing patterns on the lake floor several feet below. Borealis could see fish streaking along just a few paddles away, so she flipped over and kicked her way to a delicious mouthful of fish. Sad that she had to break the surface for air, Borealis made her way back to the surface and the shore, going from calm, peaceful quiet to the land of sunlight and birdsong. She flopped down on the rocky shore and began feasting on her catch, which she realized was quite large now that she got a good look at it.

After she finished her breakfast of fish, Borealis stretched again and sat up, looking around her. Nothing seems to really change around here she thought to herself. Deciding that she should accustom herself to her surroundings, seeing as she wasn't planning on leaving this area for a while, Borealis began a slow trot around the lake. She could see a beautiful river flowing out of the lake, and it looked so tantalizing as it wound its way through the nearby trees that she just HAD to take a closer look. She had just started to weave her way through the trees when she stopped sharply, heart pounding in her chest. She could hear voices rather close by. Borealis quickly darted behind the nearest boulder before attempting to discern where the voices were coming from. Oh phooey.... she thought sadly, and I really liked it here too...I don't want to get in trouble for encroaching on another fox's land.. She strained to hear the conversation as she slipped nearer to the voices, finally seeing the shapes of two foxes come in to sight.

Daedalus bowed his head graciously. "It is nice to meet you, Hael," he said. "We are a very new tribe as of right now, so it's quite understandable that you hadn't known about us. Thus far, it is only Lumos, Tithe, Maeve, and myself. You are quite welcome to join us though, if it please you."

Maeve tilted her head to the side, examining the kit. "There's nothing to be frightened of," she stated. "I won't hurt you, I promise. My name is Maeve, I live here with my tribe. What's your name?" Maeve had never seen a kit like him, nor one that acted so oddly. One would think he'd be a little grateful.

A PASSAGE OF TIME HAS OCCURRED.

Daedalus has noticed a rather substantial increase in the amount of foxes interested in either joining or learning at Orestes. This rather pleasant surprise has prompted the to-be Elder to gather all of the foxes, new and old, so they could all get to know each other and the grounds better. All of the foxes are currently gathered on Olympus, the summit of Mt. Ilithyia.
