Seeing Aksaja in his natural state, Jericho took a moment to look him over. He was certainly different from the dragons he knew of, but at the same time he was similar in a sense as well. The explanation of his parents, though he seemed reluctant to speak of them, were intriguing as well. He was fairly interested in learning of other dragon types out there outside of the ones he was familiar with.

"All the main types are like that as well... varying in size and color. There are a few species that are different though, and then there are the dragonkin, which are like the ones you speak of on two legs. I haven't really met many of the other types, but my father kept a few kobolds as servants... er... they're small two legged dragon-like beings... not too bright they are though," he said, "Both my parents are reds as well. Though, they're both larger than I am. And if nothing happens, they'll grow even bigger eventually."

Aksaja nodded at that, flopping down on the floor of the cave so he was a bit more even with the other's eye-level. "I don't think there's really any type of dragon where I come from that keeps on growing without stopping . . ." he mused. "Maybe an Earth type of some kind? I've never met one, though."

Rubbing his chin at that thought, he had to wonder just how big the dragons of Aksaja's home could get exactly.

"We can get pretty big, but few live long enough to reach gargantuan proportions. Only the oldest, wisest, and most powerful elder dragons get that big. Never want to piss one of those guys off though," Jericho added with a slight shudder, "So do you have a different type for each of the elements basically? Seems like there's quite a few there."

Aksaja lifted an arm and waggled his hand a round. "I'd haveta say . . . kind of. There's some that're just based more of aspects of nature I guess. Like a storm isn't really an 'element', but . . . yea."

Tilting head curiously, he asked a question of his own then. "What are all of the types where you come from?"

Nodding to Aksaja in understanding, Jericho was now imagining all the different sorts of dragons there may be. Then again, if he recalled, there were a number of similar ones from his own home though to a lesser degree.

"Well there's ten main types; five metallic and five chromatics. The metallics are the gold, silver, bronze, brass and copper and the chromatics are red, black, blue, green, and white... generally speaking the metallics are seen as the 'good' and chromatics are the 'evil'... though I don't know how well that statement holds up now but I guess we're still sorta natural enemies," he mused. That general statement had been set up long ago probably whenever dragons actually interacted with humans for real, "There's a bunch of other dragons as well like the song, shadow, and chaos dragons."

"I... don't suppose you have any sort of thing like that where you're from do you? Sects of dragons that... really don't get along?"

Aksaja thought about that for a moment or two, then shook his head slightly. "Not . . . now, at least. I think I remember something about a lot of conflict between different dragons but it was a really long time ago. Possibly before the elves even existed, I'm not sure. At some point, though, something. Happened." He shrugged, and sighed softly.

"Now dragons are extremely rare where I come from. We only live in a single valley and everyone's obsessed with having more eggs and . . . all of that. So we don't die out." He really didn't see the big deal, since apparently things had been like that for ages and ages. If it hadn't happened yet, why would it now?

Frowning at Aksaja's explanation, Jericho felt that had to be rough. The way he said it made it seem as if dragons were on the verge of extinction! Dragons couldn't go extinct; it was just.. unfathomable. It would be a sad day indeed should they be wiped out from his home. He had to wonder what could have caused the population to diminish so much. It had to have been something pretty big.

"Dragons aren't exactly common where I'm from either but I don't think we're quite that rare. At least if you know where to look," he said quietly, "Do you know what happened exactly though?"

"Not really," Aksaja muttered, shaking his head slightly. He'd never been very good at the 'learning important stuff' thing. Really, the things that were important to him . . . weren't considered of very much worth to most in the community.

"Mostly just stuff that I overheard."

"Hrm.."

That was a little troubling, but Jericho supposed it really wasn't of his concern. The thought of dragons having population issues like that disturbed him though, and he had to wonder if whatever happened was a possibility of what could happen to his own home. It wasn't really something he'd like to see.

Aksaja glanced over at the little table beside his bed then and made a face. "Ugh, much as I hate to say this . . . I have some homework I should get done tonight," he muttered then. Which meant for one thing he would have to shift back, as it involved drawing.

. . . Maybe. Perhaps he could have some fun with this assignment. Hmm. Well, at any rate, if Jericho stuck around he was unlikely to get much of anything done. "So I'll see you later?" he asked the other dragon boil, draconic jaws parting slightly in a type of grin.

Nodding to the other dragon, Jericho replied, "Yeah I probably should get to working on my own stuff as well. I'll see you around then."

With a grin, he started for the door so he could go on to his own room. He wasn't really looking forward to doing homework, but it needed to be done sooner or later.
