She beamed at him, her smile - which had been small and wobbly before - coming out full force as he repeated her words back at her, using 'ne'. She had forgotten what it was like to hear her warra again! She had missed hearing the musical sounds and the chatter of voices around her. "You speak it well!" She told him hastily, even as he slipped up on 'warra'.
"I'm glad," she said honestly. "Some find my warra...angering." she meant a lesser anger, like irritation but the word was unfamiliar. "But I do not speak your warra always." She was trying to explain why she did not speak perfectly. "I still learn, but I'm still trying - just slowly." She smiled, nodding as if to emphasise that what she said was the truth.

Seeing her smile made the lion brighten. Ah, so he had done something right! Hatalekin smiled back at her. "Great!" So maybe he could learn new things after all. Actually he was tempted...if she was willing...would she teach him maybe? The lion looked thoughtfully over at her. Maybe he woudl ask.
"It makes others angry?" He repeated with a frown. Perhaps they just got aggravated that they couldn't understand her when she slipped up? That wasn't fair of them. He looked at her, quietly studying her as a small grin spread across his features. "I got it! We can teach each other."
"I can help you with my language and learn yours?" He paused and looked over at her sheepishly, "Would you want to do that?"

She nodded as he repeated her phrase, but her eyes went wide at his next comment. For a moment, the words did not register in her mind and it took a little while for her to understand, though his explanation afterwards helped. "I would like that very much," she said, smiling. "I am happy to teach and to learn." An embarrassed expression flittered across her face as she admitted, " and I would like to her my warra again, not only from my tongue." It felt like many years since she had heard a simple word, like his 'ne', in her former language.
"Thank you," she said earnestly. She was so happy to have found a friend in the wolf clan, and not only a friend, but a teacher and a student too.

Hatalekin watched her with interest, eager to see what she thought of his suggestion. "Good." He grinned like a cub, "I'm happy as well." He listened to her. How long had she been alone? Seperated from where it was that she had come from? If he didn't feel like he was invading her privacy the lion would throw so many questions at her. But he shouldn't. So he behaved.
"You are most welcome." He replied softly. "And thank you too." He smiled. Already joining this pride was turning out well for him. He was glad to have met Tikandari.

Tikandari smiled happily, and hesitated, before posing her question. "Do you want to go and learn now?" She asked. She was not keen on large crowds, so she wouldn't mind avoiding the rest of the meet and greet, though she would be curious to see some of the other ceremonies later. "We could find a quiet place, and you can teach me and I teach you."
She wondered if he would agree, but she liked the idea of learning and she would like to teach him some words, at least. She missed her language and her heritage. This gave her the chance to take that back, at least a little.

Looking around Hatalekin took a minute before nodding. "Sounds like a plan to me." He smiled before quickly adding, " I mean, ne." While he had been looking around the lion had spotted a small area that seemed nice and quiet. Hopefully they wouldn't get disturbed there.
"Let's go over there." He motioned that way before starting to walk around the crowd. To a place where they could watch the others while quietly teaching each other a piece of their own language.

She smiled at his correction and nodded. "Ne," she agreed to his motioning and followed him, pleased to have found someone so welcoming. The whole pride was welcoming, but this male had offered friendship, not merely welcomes, to her and made her feel part of it. She was grateful for his friendship, and grateful for this new chance at a new life, but still she would hold onto her past. She would teach him of her past and maybe her history would not truly fade away, unknown to all except them.
