"A tantrum? How I'd love to see that."

Maybe he didn't. He paused, glancing at her. "Horses are fun. Ever had one? I was traveling along a human habitat once. Their kicks are not fun, though." He mused, tail flicking once more as his paws felt the change in the ground. The ground was harder, colder here. Trees seemed to be thicker, almost maze like as his eyes scanned the familiar terrain. He glanced at Lamia, rolling his shoulders.

"Welcome to old Cruor land." He mused, sniffing the air. He wondered idly if she had ever hunted a mole, they were amusing. Difficult to catch once they decided to bury under the ground.

"If their kicks are not fun then they sound too big for hunting. As I said, I don't like having to take down a meal that I have to stand guard over a kill for days on end." The blood-stained female even rolled her eyes ever so slightly. It startled her, how.....normal this conversation felt. Normal wasn't something she really did. Ever.

"Cruor?" Lamia sniffed at the air. She might have caught the faintest of scents of other foxes, but she was pretty sure it was just the power of suggestion; there was just about no smell. "Hmmm, no one's ever lived around here for any length of time." That meant either Cruor, whatever that was, was a long time ago or hadn't lasted very long.

"When you have a large family to feed they are useful." He said, sighing inwardly. He noticed her glancing about, hearing her words and grimacing at the unwary jab at his barely healing wound. He sniffed the air, catching the faint smell of lavender. Yuki was in the forest, and Ixen, though it seemed Ixen was probably out hunting or visiting children. He glanced at Lamia, then sniffed the air once more.

Should he show his favorite thing in the world to Lamia? His little brother? He didn't know. He stored that thought back at the moment. He was just showing her Cruor, showing her Yuki was something else. Hopefully Yuki wouldn't come bounding out to see him anytime soon.

"Cruor was my old tribe." He said, jaw tensing. "Though it fell apart due to the secrets I held and the lack of trust."

"Not all are up to the calling of becoming an Elder," Lamia said, looking at Sin and back to the lands with eyes fresh in the new knowledge. There was a subtle feeling on kinship on her part, all of a sudden. "Such a thing was to be my destiny," she said, voice quiet. "Though the.....nature of the dissoval of my clan is probably a very different story." Lamia looked out at the trees. She'd never shared this story before, not even hints. She might admit to the violence, but never the reasons behind it.

Sin grew quiet, eyes staring at the ground. "I was not good enough for them. In the end they didn't need me anymore." He shrugged at this, the hurt rushing through him as it always did. He didn't need this. He sniffed the air, grumbling. He had very bad sense of smell, terrible, almost as if his nose was broken. So, why could he smell Yuki?

Oh no Yuki was nearby.

Sin glanced at Lamia, moving in the direction his brother was not, flicking his tail. "Perhaps you would like to see old Cruor campgrounds? Kill resides along the pawn nearby."

Lamia tilted her head, a curious look in her eyes. "Then the time wasn't right," she said, voice firm. "You would have suffered, and they would have suffered. Perhaps you will learn, and next time you will be ready. Perhaps that wasn't the kind of family you needed."

She watched him closely, though tried to be subtle about it. Normally she delighted in reopening wounds and watching pain in others, but for some reason she felt the need to take a delicate touch with this male. If it wasn't for her distraction she would probably have already scented the new male scent.

Sin directed Lamia away from the scent, blinking at her words. She probably was correct. Though there would be no next time. It wasn't him being morbid or even emotional. Just, he wasn't going to try again. He didn't need a tribe, didn't need to make one either. He didn't want one anymore. He didn't want to have another Cruor. He flicked his tail at her, nodding quietly before ears flicking.

"Perhaps." He mused, noticing a mound. Perfect. He nudged the vixen, approaching it and plopping down. Aha! He could smell a mole down there! He looked at Lamia, tail flicking side to side. "Here is a fun game."

Lamia eyed the mound the Sin was sniffing with misgiving. "Your obsession with tiny animals as food is....interesting. Ground creatures are too small to be worth the effort it takes to dig them out, and scurry away in their blasted tunnel systmes more often than not."

Perhaps Sin found it worth his time more than Lamia, but he was built differently. His muscles probably made digging no effort at all. Not that she couldn't dig up a variety of moles, her legs were quite strong. But she was built for speed, not muscle.

He laughed lightly. "The sound they make amuses me." He said, looking at her with a grin. "The moles here are rather large, actually, maybe to large. Cruor was known for having fat and plentiful prey due to little interference. Watch out, there are many dangerous snakes in here." He called, sitting on his haunches. His eyes flicked about. If Lamia was bitten he'd have to find Yuki and Ixen, for both knew berries and herb techniques. Ixen had taught Yuki, and Yuki had stored the knowledge just in case his kits needed it. Sin? Not so much.

"And it is not an obsession, Lamia. Moles here, as stated before, can hardly be called small. Besides, you mentioned not wishing to eat large prey. I'm merely catering to your wishes."

Lamia's face scrunched up and she glanced back at the hole. "I had hoped you meant creatures that lived above the ground. Call me spoiled, but I'm not used to digging for a meal." Her head tilted a little and she glanced back at Sin. If he dug something up she'd be glad to snag it before it ran off, but digging was just so....

((XD She's a spoiled princess sometimes.))

((-laughs- If she had done that before Sin would have been out the door. But, since she now has him hooked he'll have to deal.))

Sin rolled his eyes at the "princess", beginning to dig into the hole. His foot scooped dirt, exploring the hole until his claws touched the bottom of something, lips turning into a grin. He felt something furry brush against his paw and he blocked the passage of the hole going deeper into the ground. In seconds the mole had crawled out of the hole, large and fat, a healthy creature. He looked at Lamia, smirking, stepping back.

"Go for it."

((She gets some of that from me. Moles are the size of mice or rats at biggest, and that's only a mouthful for a normal fox. Modifoxes, not even a mouthful. And they have a lot of senses they rely on underground. And tunnels. One's not just gonna sit there as you dig for it, it's gonna scurry away. My extreme doubts on this goes to her and turns into distain on her part lol.))

Lamia rolled her eyes, but took the opportunity. Before the furry creature could scuttle into one of his tunnels and escape she was on it. A swift n**, toss of the head, and the creature hit the ground five feet away with a broken neck.

"I still do not see the draw. It is small and possibly of a good size for a snack, but," she cocked her head, staring at the body. "It is something very foreign to me." She wasn't sure she was entirely comfortable with this hunting method, and some of that might have reflected in her body posture. Surely there was something around to hunt that she was good at?

(( What animal would Lamia be happy with? ))

Sin rolled his eyes, again. "Did you truly think this was anything more than a snack?" He mused, brushing himself across from her and padding off. He turned to look at her, his chest lurching slightly as he realized that they were closer to Cruor sleeping grounds than he had thought. He glanced off, grumbling to himself before padding into the forest, tail flicking side to side.

The sound of birds annoyed him. He hated that sound, it drove him nuts. He snapped at the air, growling lowly until the sound stopped. When he lowered his head a shadow flicked across his line of eyesight, eyes narrowing.

((Badgers, snakes, pine martins, weasels, stoats, hedgehogs, rabbits or hares, maybe otters or beavers if she can catch them on land. There are lots more examples, though my resivoir of woodland creatures has fun out XD Basicly anything that she doesn't have to swim, climb, or dig for. That's one of her "imperfections", that she's a little lazy when it comes to the thought of doing more for your meal than chasing it down. Not that she doesn't try her hand at all the other stuff; that's how she knows she doesn't like doing any of that if she can avoid it XD))

"Hmph." Lamia seriously doubted that mole qualified as a snack. Maybe for an ancient, rickety old fox, or a kit nearing the moment of adulthood. Perhaps living alone and doing as she pleased for as long as she had made her spoiled, not that she cared if she was or not. Since Sin didn't seem interested she ate the mole herself. It was, at least, an interesting and new flavor, so she supposed she might as well assume a thankful attitude rather than gripe. Maybe.

Out of the corner of her eye Lamia spotted Sin's behavior. "Not that it's any of my business," she said, adopting a lazy drawl, "but you seem on edge. What's got your tail in a twist, wolf-render?" It wasn't just now either, he'd seemed a little tense to her from the start. She'd chalked it up to bad memories. She couldn't say she personally understood what that felt like since she was black-hearted and regretted nothing in her past. Not all foxes were like her though.

But with Sin still not settling, she was starting to wonder if more than bad memories was irritating him.

At her voice he turned to look at her, one ear raised to listen for what had made such a noise before. He shrugged lazily, tail flicking side to side before fully looking straight at her, eyes narrowing. So, she could tell? Perhaps he could talk to her. She didn't seem like the kind of vixen he was normally wary of and often accused of thinking all women were. Sighing, the large male shrugged yet again, meeting her eyes.

"Thoughts closely associated with this place often trouble me, but not when alone. When I am with another it tends to drain away at my thoughts, mostly out of thought that the other person might be conscience of my failure to the people I was supposed to care for and protect." He paused, ears flicking. "Also, my brother lives here, and if he see's you he might feel replaced. Though, I doubt hiding your presence here would do well, either. He has a better sense of smell than I ever did."
