"I see, a new arrival then? How fascinating." She grinned wide. " My family lives not too far away, actually I belong to a rather small herd but it's home and the members are like extended family." Her ears perked at his tail and wondered if she wasn't the only tail waggler around. She guessed it wouldn't be too uncommon... Would it? She pondered this a moment before shrugging it aside. If it was, if it wasn't... Did it really matter? "Have you seen much of the forest? I could possibly show you around a little if you haven't.."

"Oh really?" He smiled, delighted at the thought of herds being close by. "I've always wanted to join a herd." He wasn't ever sure why he hadn't already. Its probably the idea of not traveling freely, or having problems fitting in. He imagined that in herds, you had to fit to be in a certain position, and if that was the case, Pavitra would land smack dab on the bottom.
"Well I've been here for a few days. But I'm sure I haven't seen it all." He grinned, flashing a handsome smile, as white as his pelt.

Looking around she nodded. "I can Imagine, I'm sure I'm not as familiar with this forest as my mother is but then again.. I'm not as big on adventuring as she and my sister seem to be." She turned and nodded with her head for him to follow. "Come on, I can at least show you some of the places I know outside of the herd lands. Don't get me wrong my mother's not very strict as a herd leader.. but we had an attack not to long ago so they're a bit on edge of new individuals..." She offered a small polite smile. "But other wise, We're generally a peaceful group which accepts others as they are." She headed off to the south some where she knew the open common area to be. It was shared by a few other herds as well as her own so she figured it'd be the better place to start. She knew her way better around from there any ways.

Nodding, Pavitra followed the mare quietly. He hadn't know she was the daughter the leader. That was certainly interesting. Wouldn't that make her like.. a princess or something? No, he didn't think herds did a royalty like thing. Though it would make her special none than less.
Oh what it would be like, to be a part of a herd like that. It would be wonderful. Surrounded by so many friends, friends that you thought of as family.
Shaking his head slightly, he began to refocus on what Briallan was showing him, being sure to memorize the way back to the tree just in case. No telling when danger could show up.

As she lead him into the open, she looked around and then left the safety of cover. "This open area is shared by a few herds.. Mother calls it our social area." She chuckled some. "I guess she'd be correct in that though I've not really made much use of it.." She looked around some. "It's one of the borders we have in our small claim on land here." She wondered what to show him exactly next. She could show him the berry bushes, that was always a nice place. Or the babbling brook that lay on the other side of the herd land. But that would be a bit of a walk. She'd better just make her way around to it and show him things along the way. Her resolve made up, she walked across the open grounds carefully. "Common, this way."

Smiling, he nodded and followed obediently. It was nice just to watch the sweet mare. Of course he didn't see that in a sexual way, at all. Pavitra was always more drawn to the males, but ever since he'd chosen Adalyn, or had she chosen him? What ever. It doesn't matter. But ever since they devoted their time and affections for one another, he definitely wasn't eying out for more tail.
With that thought, Pavitra snickered again at the mare's odd way she wiggled her tail. Adalyn was the same.. what would it be? 'Kind' ? 'Species' ? 'Breed' ? Either way, he believed they were called cerynei, or something to that effect. But Adalyn didn't wag her tail period. Or at least to what he'd noticed. Adalyn was, however, definitely not as happy or cheerful as Briallan. He thinks thats why Briallan is so adorable to him. She's like a foal still. Cute, sweet, but smart. Definitely intelligent.
Trying to be attentive, even though his mind wanders with this gnarled thoughts, he did listen with Briallan spoke, and made notes on what she said.
The area was quite gorgeous. Even better so, a perfect place to raise a family...

Back into the trees, she looked around, searching for the right game trail to choose that would lead them around the edge of the herd. "The Primrose and hope herd's not really too big on boundaries but just to be safe and keep them from being too skittish we can go around and look at some of the other things.. I'm not sure how they'd see a stranger just yet. It may spook them.." Small talk, it mostly sounded like she'd been thinking out lour more than to him but she didn't seem to notice his own thoughts occupying him. "If I'm going too fast just tell me and we can stop so you can get a better look around..." She seemed to be meeting more and more males. A n inward chuckle nearly escaped her as she wondered just how many females were in the world outside her own herd. She'd certainly met very few females. And it wasn't like she was avidly looking for a mate or anything. just.. others to talk to really.

Pavitra quickly looked at her. "Oh I'm sorry. There has been a lot of my mind recently." He smiled sheepishly and chastised himself for nearly ignoring her. "You are very lucky for living in a place like this. Its gorgeous. and I very much don't want to intrude on your lands. I understand that there are many dangers everywhere, and they have a right to be wary of others they don't know." He smiled even though the fears that crept at the back of his mind always woke slightly. A cougar? What had become of it?
"So have you met many others outside the herd Briallan?"

She shook her head lightly. "Think nothing of it we all get lost in our thoughts from time to time.." She smiled and thought of her encounters. "Well aside from you, I've met....six others that weren't of the herd.. and one of those was really not a meeting.. he was our herd's attacker.." She added the last bit more softly, under her breath before looking up to the sky and around as though mentioning him might bring him back with a vengeance.

Pavitra instinctively took a few steps closer to her, in a consoling way. "Hey, you don't need to be worried." Puffing out his chest, Pavitra struck a pose, valiant and strong.
Oh he was such a faker. But if it would make her feel more comfortable, he would make a fool of himself.
"Do you think one day.. you'll leave your family? Even for just a bit?" The idea of family was striking so many nerves lately. But sometimes, the better thoughts, can his heart a rush and he felt invincible.

She gave a small chuckle. "It's ok. I'm just.... a bit jumpy is all.. My mother's been looking for some allies since.. I believe she'll find some." She grinned wide. "Shall we continue? There's an area with a berry bush up ahead.. and beyond that a ways is more trees.. really haven't ventured much further than the bush in that direction..." Her ears flicked some at his question. "Leave them? Hmmm... I don't know.. I mean.. I wander off from time to time.. but I hadn't ever really thought about leaving he herd and my family.. I guess I just figured I'd cross any brooks as I came to them." She gave him a small friendly smile, her tail twitching some.

Pavitra nodded as she spoke, showing her his full attention now. "I would love a herd so much." Sighing wistfully, he ruffled his wings subconsciously. "Or even better, a family." He smiled with out humor. Then he thought of Adalyn and imagined what they could have. If only he could give himself up to it. Maybe...
Shaking his head, he jerked himself from the day dreams. He was going to zone again, and start to ignore Briallan. Instead his tucked his head downward and sipped from a small stream that was conveniently close by.
When he lifted, he cocked his head and blinked a couple of times. "Whats a berry?"

"Well I don't know about other herds but ours is a pretty open invitation so long as we're not on you menu..." She gave a small giggle. "Anyone wishing to join would have to seek out my mother though... More of a formality than anything else really..." She gave him a small smile and looked around then back to him when he asked what a berry was. Did he not know? Were others unfamiliar with berries? She guessed it was possible as she didn't know what they were till her mother's old friend had shown her. "A berry's a small fruit much like what we'd gotten from the tree but found on a bush... some are bitter, some are sweet.. it just depends on the berry." She hoped that was a good enough explanation.. at least it was for her.. It was about as much as she knew about them, besides that they were often very yummy.

Pavitra could only hope that the majority of herds were as open as hers but highly doubted it. He so wished to be involved in one. Maybe when him and Adalyn begin a family then... oh that was the future. Nothing to dwell on right at this moment. He was more interested in the 'berries' Briallan spoke of.
"Oh, I would very much like to try one then." Nodding enthusiastically with a smile, he followed Briallan obediently.

"All right then, on to the berries!" Chuckling, she picked up her pace to a trot. She knew these berries were often also sought after by rabbits and some of the smaller critters. Magic too often ate them from time to time. After all bears were omnivores. "We'll have to hurry or other animals might have the bushes picked clean when we get there." She smiled as she went ahead of him.
