"That's a horrible thing to tell your son." Kali rolled her eyes, then grinned conspiratorially.
"Wanna do it? He thinks you're bad now; but what if we do give him what he wants? A 'normal' teenager? C'mon! It'll be fun. I only said I'd get you to stop using magic all over the house like a jerk wad. I never said I was gonna not get back at him for being a turd with Stasia." She offered him her hand, pointing at the door.
"I even know the perfect place to get you all nice and teenage-corrupted."
She was far too excited about this.

Howl thought about it. "I haven't gone out in years," he said with a grin. His drunkenness was definitely not a flaw Sophie enjoyed. He gave his friend a smile and a nod. "Let's," he agreed, taking her hand. Well, his father did say to go out and become a normal teenager; what would Vate say when Howl became one?
"Kali? What's a normal teenager act like? I know they don't dress like I do," he added with some concern. "What should I wear?" He was a bit confused about Kali's excitement, but didn't question it.

If the grin on Kali's face was any clue as to what Howl would soon be experiencing, it wasn't tame. Catlike, or perhaps more like a fox, she looked Howl up and down.
"Oh. You'll see." She grinned. "But first, we need a little help from Lance and Charlie. Want a piercing?"
Oh yes. She was far too cheerful.

Howl made a face at the idea of seeing Lance. He didn't know Charlie, but since the boy's name was in the same sentence as Lance's, he decided he wouldn't like him. "Piercing?" he asked, fingering the ear-ring in his ear. He usually kept it carefully hidden, just in case Sophie decided it was undesirable and tried to hit him with something.
"I guess." He nodded at Kali, certain the older girl knew what she was doing.
