LW gave him one of those 'looks'. "Because, goof. I am too tired and lazy to drag you all the way back up to your room. Though...I guess I could shift forms and carry slash drag you that way." Her head tilted in a wolfish way as she tried to picture him in his other form. "Y'know, can't say I've seen a gryphon in their other form before." The she-wolf giggled at him. "Huge, huh?" More giggles. "That means you could carry me!"

Once outside, she took in a deep breath of the air and sighed. Something about being outside was relaxing in its own way. In fact, if she'd had a little more energy, she'd be tempted to run around out here on all fours instead of in her current form. LW wondered how fasts gryphons could move on land. No flying. That was cheating. Actually, now that she thought about it, flying sounded pretty cool.

"Alright so only on weekends. When we're celebrating. And..." LW shivered at the thought of the headmistress lady. "Uh, yeah. Why not make it simple. Only when we are in our rooms. With people we don't mind drinking with. Or kissing. Or stripping in front of." She paused. "I can deal with that. Maybe. Depends if I'm there with other people I know or not." Her nose wrinkled and she frowned. "Then again, Red is one scary werewolf." Much scarier than she was.

She felt the same way as he did. Her head was steadily beating its own tune and not looking to quit any time soon. The she-wolf nuzzled against the gryphon and sighed. "I'll promise to try. Just hope I don't follow the same fate." She snorted. "And we are not that pathetic..." Alright so she didn't really believe her own words. They were pretty pathetic right now. And LW was almost positive that if she moved out from under him or he pulled away, both of them would keel over and just curl up on the ground right here. Not a half bad idea either.

The she-wolf almost tripped over her own feet when she heard the words 'don't have to eat any meat'. It was a good thing she had asked then. Otherwise she probably would have taken poor Ren somewhere that didn't offer something aside from meat. Then she would have felt bad. Really bad. "You...don't eat meat?" Violet eyes met his with surprise that disappeared just as quickly as it had appeared to be replaced by her smile. "Well, now I know that!" Wait, would it bother him if she ate meat? Now her smile fell into a small frown. "It won't bother you if I do...will it?" This was important to her as she didn't want to do something that would make him uncomfortable. But she was a werewolf and meat was something she definitely enjoyed.

"Well," said Ren, running his fingers through his hair and letting out yet another yawn. "I don't shift all that often, only because it takes too much effort and seeing as how I'm Jacking huge in that particular form, I tend to knock things around unintentionally. And I could carry you," he said, grinning down at LW. "But that would involve actually taking the energy to shift, and I do not feel like doing that."

Wings fluttering slightly, Ren finally moved from his leaning position and stuck his hands in his pockets, ambling along beside the she-wolf. He was starting to feel a bit less wonky and blah and more like his old self; at the very least, he felt significantly more awake, which was a step in the right direction, he supposed.

"One day," he said, flicking his tail up to curl around his wrist. "I'll have to show you my form. We'll go running," he added with a wink. "Since that's the only time I actually don't mind doing something physically exerting..."

Ren trailed off slightly, seeing the wide-eyed, surprised look on LW's face. His own flushed a little, and he said quickly "I, uh...well...what I meant by that was - " He stopped. Sighed. Then said, somewhat resignedly "No, I don't eat meat. I'm a vegetarian. And before," he said, holding up a hand as if to motion her not to speak. " - you tell me that's weird or anything, a gryphon being a vegetarian, I already know this. I just don't like the taste or texture of meat; it's weird to me, and it makes me slightly nauseated just thinking about it. My parents have already expressed to me - several times - their dislike, disapproval, and disappointment at certain life choices I've made; not eating meat being one of those choices. I have no doubt you're not going to say anything like that, because you're much too cute and kind to say that sort of thing, but I'm just telling you now so you'll understand.

"However," Ren said, a slight smile touching his lips. "It doesn't bother me if others eat meat, as long as they don't try to make me eat some."

LW tilted her head and blinked at the gryphon. "You could carry me?" Her grin was playful and she leaned against him this time giving Ren the cute look. "Well, you are obviously bigger than I am in your other form." LW let out a sigh. "Everyone is bigger than I am. Except in rare cases." She tried to think of said rare cases and was only coming up with things that should be smaller, like mice and rabbits.

The she-wolf stretched her arms out above her head before linking her fingers together behind her back while they walked. Her tail swished from side to side with each step and LW felt very relaxed. It was a nice feeling. But even nicer was being able to enjoy it with a friend.

"I'd love that. Very much." She smiled and giggled a little. "Running in wolf form," LW said sheepishly, "is one of my favorite things." Alas, she was probably one of the few ones that enjoyed such a thing. At least at school. Back home though...well she had learned how to run fast when dealing with her brothers. LW only had one sister. And she was...well, not LW. Savannah was your typical girly girl. She and LW never really saw eye to eye. Of course that one time that the little she-wolf had chopped of her sisters hair might not have helped. In her defense, Vanna had completely shredded and maimed all of LW's pillows.

"But...hey I-" LW gave up and let him finish, listening and frowning a little. "But, not everyone is the same." She muttered more to herself, blushing a little at the 'too cute and kind'. Shooting a quirky grin Ren's way, LW bumped her hip against his. "Hey, well. I don't care what you eat. As long as it won't bother you if I eat meat!" Her gaze softened and she added, not sure it was really needed, "And you are a great and fantastic gryphon. So don't ever think different."

Linking her arm through his, she tugged Ren towards one of the small restaurant that she was pretty sure had really good food even for vegetarians. But, just to make sure he was fine with this choice, she paused outside and nodded towards it. "Will this work for you, dear gryphon?"

He smiled down at LW, reaching a hand over to absently ruffle her hair. "Stop it with that look, Miss Wolf," he said teasingly. "And yes, I could, but I'm pretty sure riding a gryphon would be a little unpleasant, what with the wings and all. They kind of get in the way of sitting properly on my back, not to mention that my flying can be very unstable, depending on the weather and how tired I am." He gave a shrug, tilting his head. "And I'm sure there are others smaller than you. Cats. Rabbits. Snakes. Birds. Spiders."

Ren winked at her and then said conversationally "I hate running, but when I'm in my gryphon form it's less of a strenuous activity and more of a necessity. Besides, that form seems to like running and is more finely attuned to running than my regular human body."

Despite the fact that his parents were both athletic, his sister a lithe, lean runner who had always been disgusted by Ren's constant napping, he had never really had an affinity for it, nor one for trying to look good to impress others. He found the whole thing shallow, so he kept to himself, refusing to participate in what he called "useless wastes of time," when his parents tried to get him to exercise.

Ren looked over at LW, a faint smile touching his lips as he noticed the pink that touched her cheeks. "I know not everyone's the same," he said gently, returning her hip bump with a playful one of his own. "I'm just used to being cautious, since I have the parentals to deal with, and they've never been pleasant about the whole thing, as you've heard me say."

Pleased at her "great and fantastic" comment, Ren leaned down, pecking a quick kiss to the side of her head "You're lovely," he said. "Thank you."

The restaurant LW had picked was one that he had not gone to before. It seemed quiet and relatively busy, but the sign outside was welcoming, the music and atmosphere as they stepped over to it already drawing him in.

"It's great," he said genuinely, and patted her hand where it rested in the crook of his arm. "And as long as you keep the meat away from me, and have it stay on your side of the table, I believe we'll do just fine."

Because she could, and she was having just as much fun teasing him as he was her, LW gave him a cute pout now. "Aww, I bet you are secretly a great flier. You just don't want to admit it." LW gave him a dramatic sigh. "Alright, so creatures that are supposed to be smaller than me are. Guess you would have to see me next to my brothers. Then you'd see just how small I am." Not that she really had a problem with it. It was pretty entertaining to see though.

LW giggled at him. "Oh? What's this? Are you trying to subtly hint that you do like running, but just don't want that information getting around?" He was too much fun. "You can nap then. I'll do the running." The she-wolf grinned up at him.

Though she did find running fun, LW saw it as more of a necessity. Since she was smaller than most of her kin, she had to make up for her size somehow. And that was with her agility. Being small and lean versus big and muscular, LW was able to out maneuver the rest of her family. Something that really irked her oldest brother. This had come in very handy when dealing with her sister too. Not so much her mother, though.

"Well, as long as you know that then. And that you can be yourself around me!" Maybe it was a were thing. She just didn't really care what people thought. Well, mostly didn't care. There were a few touchy things that could get to her. "Yeah, yeah. I've heard ya." She shot him a devilish smirk. "Makes me want to meet them."

Of course, she blushed again. Though it wasn't exactly from the kiss she'd gotten. "L-lovely?" That was not a word she heard associated with herself. 'Lovely' was usually her sister. Or mother. Cute, annoying nuisance was what she was. At least in her family. "And you're welcome." LW was going to pretend her voice was not a little higher in pitch. Nope. Must have been hearing things.

A snort and a roll of the eye was directed at the gryphon. "I promise I am not going to throw any meat at you and demand you eat it. You'll be lucky to even see it on my plate. We werewolves are known for our appetites." She snapped her teeth at him with a smirk before moving with him to enter the restaurant. As soon as they stepped in, she was very happy with this choice. It smelled good in here!

"Yes," Ren said confidently, flashing a bright smile at LW. "Lovely. Haven't you ever heard that term before? It means that you're interesting and entertaining, not to mention you have a wonderfully feisty personality."

He winked at her, laughing, then said "And I beg to differ," Ren said breezily, waving a noncommittal hand in the air. "I am not a great flier; merely a messy one. Not that that's a bad thing, really. It at least makes my parents quite horrified, which is a wonderful thing in my case."

After a moment, he said "But brothers are supposed to be big and scary. Besides, to mouse, I'm sure you're humongous."

Ren patted her head affectionately and stepped into the restaurant. He could smell vegetables cooking in the back, as well as the scent of meat, but he pushed that aside, moving to speak to the hostess.

"Two, please."

She nodded and grabbed two menus, motioning for them to follow her. "I beg to differ," Ren said airily to LW as they walked behind her, deeper into the restaurant. "Running is a completely unnecessary sport that serves no purpose except to make you unable to breathe properly. Unless, of course," he added with a shrug and a grin. "You just happen to have an animal form, and then it becomes a necessity."

Nodding in thanks to the waitress, he slipped into the booth, stretching out his legs as he accepted the menu the waitress offered him. "I have no doubt of your appetite," he said playfully, smirking at her, and skimmed the menu for something suitable to eat. That avocado veggie burger looks pretty good...

She pursed her lips at his smile and response. "I have heard the term." LW agreed and sighed. "Guess just never directed towards me." Her eyebrow did quirk up at mention of 'feisty personality'. Yep. That one she had heard. Several times. And not always in a playful manner. She still liked hearing it though and grinned at him.

"How can one be a messy flier?" This was actually asked out of pure curiosity, not out of any teasing. She was not of the avian class so she didn't know it was possible to be considered a messy flier. Did that mean messy in the literal sense? Or just that he wasn't graceful about it? Still thinking on that she added, "If horrifying your parents is your goal, I probably have a few things you could try."

LW gave him a dirty look. "Werewolves are supposed to be big and scary." Her lips twitched at mention of how she would look to a mouse.

Like the canine she was, LW's nose twitched and took in all the scents. The mouthwatering scent of something being grilled in the back. Sweet and tangy sauces with hints of fruit to them. The hostess that was leading them to a table. She took it all in, filing it away into some part of her mind that always remembered scents. Like Ren's scent. He smelled good.

"Just because you are lazy doesn't mean running is unnecessary." She said sweetly, poking him in the side before looking thoughtful as they followed the hostess. "Now that you mention it, I do find that I enjoy running more in my other form versus this form." A pause. "Or maybe it is just the feeling of being outside and have the wind rush against my face." Or it was simply because she was a wolf with too much energy on some days.

Where the gryphon stretched out his legs, the she-wolf curled hers up. She didn't care if it was not very ladylike. When you were short, you worked with your surroundings the best you could. And that usually meant she curled her legs up when she sat. Smiling and saying a soft "Thanks" to the girl, she glanced down it, hiding her look from him. She actually wasn't that bad when it came to her appetite. Usually. When food was what they were talking about. And...alright she was done with that before it got out of hand. What did she want to eat? was it too early to do a burger? Not that she really cared. And...FRIES. Oh god the little golden salty delights sounded goooood. Burger and fries. She was sold.

"Anything on here appeasing to you?" The she-wolf asked after setting her menu off to the side, eyes darting around to look at who else was in here.

Ren lifted his brows. "Not directed to you?" he repeated, then scoffed. "I don't see how that can be true. You're obviously lovely. If you've never heard it directed at you before, then people are merely blind to your loveliness."

Propping his feet up on the leather seat of the booth and pulling his knees to his chest, Ren pulled the menu a bit closer, scrutinizing the food carefully. Just the thought of eating something like a steak made his stomach convulse, and he quickly turned to the next page, skimming the salads. "It's very easy for one to be a messy flier," he answered LW absently, eyebrows drawing together as he read the ingredients for a club salad. "It just means you have no sense of direction whatsoever. I tend to keep getting lost when I fly places. Though I must admit, it has been quite a while."

"And yes it does," he added, tossing the werewolf a quick smirk. "Running track in and of itself is a completely useless habit. So you run in a circle for three laps. What's the point? You're not going anywhere. Just back to where you started in the first place."

Tapping his chin with a freckled finger, Ren's eyes moved up the menu, back towards the veggie burger. It was either that or a salad, though he was not quite certain which he was more in the mood for. Casting a glance at LW, he said "Several things, surprisingly. None of them involving meat, unsurprisingly, but they've got some good stuff here."

The waitress appeared back at their table, sliding two glasses of water to each of them. Ren smiled up at her, folding his menu shut and sliding it towards her.

"Veggie burger, no fries, substitute broccoli instead. And a side salad," he added, as an afterthought, then gestured to LW. "Your turn, Miss Wolf."

Yep. She blushed that time. But there was still that particular look in her eyes. She still associated the word 'lovely' with her sister. Not herself. Wasn't her fault though. "Obviously, you need to meet my sister. Things would make much more sense then." LW muttered and shook her head a little, as if in wolf form and ridding herself of some water.

She traced the design on the front of the menu while he continued to look over his own. Violet eyes took in each person around them slowly. It must be the wolf, always having to know your surroundings. Or the mischievous devil in her. Didn't look like there was anyone interesting to look at this early in the day. Well... she corrected herself. There wasn't anyone else besides Ren that was interesting to look at.

Speaking of, "Really?" Her nose twitched. She used her sense of smell to always keep track of what direction she was heading in. Of course, LW wasn't able to explain how this worked. It was just something was a part of her. "Maybe I should teach you how to keep your senses about you." The she-wolf teased. "Or at least laugh my a** off when you get lost and run into something?" She gave him an angelic smile before it faded into an amused smirk.

"Alright. Track is not a good example of why running is fun. The kind of running where you don't know what obstacles are going to be in your way while you explore a new territory or follow a footpath you've never seen before?" The she-wolf sighed. "You just don't run enough to enjoy it. Or, maybe you just haven't had the right people around to enjoy a run with." LW tilted her head in that canine fashion. "Maybe running is too similar to flying in your case?"

Her lips twitched and the she-wolf was glad there were some things that sounded good to him here. She dropped the subject or running when their waitress appeared. The prospect of food much more important than running. A smile of thanks for the water was sent her way while LW turned to the gryphon while he ordered his food.

"What?" She gave him a mock look of horror. "No fries?!" LW sighed dramatically. "What blasphemy is this?" The she-wolf held the act for several seconds before winking at him and turning to order her own meal. "Burger please. Medium rare. With fries." She placed her menu by their waitress and waited until she was gone to place their orders before sticking her tongue out at the gryphon.

"I never keep my senses about me," Ren replied breezily, waving a noncommittal hand in the air. "Too much effort. Besides, if I get lost, that just means that I have a chance to explore a new place." He tossed LW a grin, resting his head on his hand. "Not that I do that too much, mind you, but every so often I find myself looking around a new part of the forest, or perhaps a new area of the school. You never know what you might find 'round these here parts."

Winking playfully at her, Ren settled himself more firmly down into the leather of the booth's seat. He felt surprisingly at ease, extremely comfortable around the she-wolf. There was an air about her that relaxed him, almost soothed him into being more open with her than he had expected himself to be. Though they had only just met, he was already starting to feel relatively close to her; it was a nice thought. A very nice thought.

"What, no broccoli?" he retorted, sticking out his tongue at her in return. "No fries, nope." Ren shrugged. "They're not that bad, but they're not my favorite either. Me, I prefer the greens, thank you very much," he added airily, then grinned at her.

I feel...happy, Ren mused to himself, toying with the straw in his glass. It's...unusual. Unexpected. Weird, strange, odd, and whatever other word you can throw out there to describe this.

But I like it. It's nice.

Maybe, just maybe, he thought, a smile touching his face. I've made a best friend here.

LW was already laughing at him. She could just picture what he was saying. "Well, then feel lucky if you have never run into a tree." The she-wolf nodded in a sage like manner before grinning. "And that you don't have six brothers chasing after you. Tends to...make you lose your sense of direction as well." Although, she had to admit, there was something about the school grounds. Several times she had found herself running in an area she swore she knew but it didn't seem familiar.

Her smile was amusing when he winked before her eyes darted to something off behind him. That...looked good. Whatever it was. Something sweet. And gooey. Which meant extra sweet. Usually. Speaking of sweet, violet eyes settled on the gryphon again. Sweet, charming, adorable. And could be devilish. He was like her twin or lost sibling. Err, scratch the sibling. She really didn't want to imagine him like her brothers. That just meant she got picked on. But still...there was a connection there that was pleasant. A strong sort of bond.

"Pffff." She wrinkled her nose and turned up her chin, smirk tugging at her lips. "Bah! No wonder you never have energy." LW gave him that playful look that let him know she was still teasing. "There is nothing wrong with preferring greens. Why must people think everyone has to be exactly the same?" The she-wolf shook her head and leaned back a little. "I like that you are different. Makes you unique." She grinned and played with her straw, pushing the ice around in her cup.

The she-wolf had to admit she hadn't expected to enjoy the gryphon this much. Quiet and lazy had been her first thoughts when seeing him for the first time. Yet...she was starting to think that might be a front. Sure, he liked sleeping. But that wasn't necessarily lazy, right? Get past the hard shell and you find a soft core.

She had never had any one to really call 'friend' before, let alone a 'best friend' (her brothers excluded). Was it possible that was what she was feeling here? That...oh Jack! Had she discovered someone to give that honor too?

A special smile, a little more than her usual warm ones lit her features. "So tell me, dear Ren. You ever played Scario Car before?"
