Suicune

Suicune listened on with a frown. It sounded like the Guild was moving to fight some...flying types? She was hesitant to go with them, seeing as how she knew little of their cause...but she did hear something about the "balance". That was suppose to be important, right?

That Cherrim she had inquired had said as much. Maybe she should go with them, just in case.

Atra && Melissa

A rather nervous looking Bulbasaur was just about to enter the Partner-assignment office when the alarm rang. She nearly jumped out of her skin at the sudden noise, looking around in alarm in hopes that someone would explain what that godawful noise was.

Seeing how a lot of people were rushing away, she decided to follow them into the Main hall.

Atra came from Team Azalea.

Cecil, to the rescue!

Tolin

Tolin quickly and quietly pulled the Suicune out of the crowd. He didn't have long, but it was important that she understand what was going on. "The leader of the flying-types has one of the pendants." He quickly stepped ahead of her thoughts before she would have a chance to ask. "It's a mortal. Not one of them." He carefully stepped around the term, in case anyone else was listening. "But it should give you proof enough. The threat is very real. Stay with the guild and watch the fight, you'll understand. I'll catch up with you all shortly."

Just as quickly as he had pulled her aside, he was gone with the harsh crack of a teleport. He had a few people he needed to talk to.

Team Cupric headed out the door along with the rest of the guild. On the way out, Oliver happened to glance around. His eyes took in the wall, the alarm, a Bulbasaur he hadn't seen before, Tolin, that one Smeargle, a Suicune, that Fl--

Wait, what?

He looked again, but someone's head was in the way. He tried to look around and was told to hurry up. He did so.

Though they were already quite away from the scyther and suicine, Quazi's fin perked and he grinned widely. Glancing side to side, he pulled Reaver behind from the rest of the moving group. "Y'hear that matey?!" Quazi half whispered/half shouted giddily. "Talk o' treasure already!" Reaver gave him a puzzled looked, his own ears not so in-tuned to specific topics except food. "Treasure? I didn't hear anything about treasure, Quazi. I think you're just excited-"

"Belay that! Like a whisperin' siren from behind us, I heard th' talk o' treasure.. Pendants!"
Quazi bounced up and down slightly, his own pendant bouncing with him from around his neck. " 'Member what I told ye 'bout th' ol' Cap'n Fearlo? He were a feathered fellow himself and gave me this here pendant... If there were more where this came from..." Quazi squealed immaturely while Reaver rolled his eyes and sighed. "If we stay here and lag any more, we'll never find out whether what you heard is true or if the salt water's already getting to you this late. Hurry and lead the way, Quazi." Still giggling, Quazi walked ahead with a bounce in his step, already fantasizing about a hoard of treasure falling from above.

Rev

As the guild began to leave, one particular character lagged behind, remaining in the shadows as to not be seen.
Rev simply watched Tolin and the Suicune for a moment, not really bothering to listen to what they were saying.
He had figured if there was a Suicune here, then this ordeal was more serious than he imagined.
He had told Raziel he'd come back for the Cranidos if he felt he was ready for the mission, but the Zangoose felt otherwise.
The moment Tolin Teleported, Rev darted out to join the crowd as fast as he could.
"Apologies, Raziel. But I prefer you alive..."

Ketsueki & Maisha & Kaiyou

Maisha, who knew not how to fuse properly with air or shadows yet, let out a sharp cry of alarm as she was knocked sideways, and was immediately caught by Suki, who, far more used to the insanity of the guilds than Maisha, hadn't been caught off-guard.
Maisha said nothing, righting herself again, and sending off little shadowy waves of dislike in every direction.
"There you are, Raven~" Suki noted in relief, patting her friend's shoulder. "Oh, shoot. Where's Kaiyou? He should be here; I could have sworn he was-"
"Don't tie yourself in knots, Suki, I'm here." The Marshtomp's low voice echoed from behind the group, and he carefully weaved through the crowd toward them.
"Sorry, mates." He muttered to an unusual pair of younger members, the first a calm-looking Aron, and the second a very strange-looking Mudkip.
He paused, frowning slightly at the Mudkip, but quickly left to join his team before the other two could say anything. At least he knew he wasn't the only one of his kind, here.
"Kaiyou, we're off to fight Flying-types, maybe you should stay behind...." He glanced at Raven, about to say the same thing to him.
"Oh no you don't, Suki. That's like telling Zori she's not allowed to tangle with Moltres. Just because it's dangerous, doesn't mean we can't handle it. Let Raven decide for himself." His voice was stern, and the second-in-command quieted, feeling very much that Kaiyou should have her position on the team, instead of herself.
Zori was a good leader, as was Kaiyou, and she just felt a little out of place.
Maisha nudged her awkwardly, and Suki relented, nodding in silence.
A few moments later, she spoke again. "Let's do that, then. Fingers crossed."

Solaris---Tolin

Tolin reappeared after about forty minutes of walking. The guild had started heading north, towards the ice territories. The large ring of trees, almost a kilometer in diameter, had come into focus a long time ago. They were so tall that they had come into view quite some time ago in spite of the fairly speedy pace the Espeon had led them with.
Solaris hopped to the side, slightly disturbed by the sharp accuracy the Scyther had had in appearing directly beside him. "Any luck?"
Tolin nodded. "They'll be meeting us there. They should already be waiting for us, by now."
And they would find them waiting for them at the trees, a short time later. "Reinforcements", as they were. He had told Lia to throw around "Pluto" and "Alfred" and "the balance is in trouble" a bit, hopefully the both of them wouldn't be too angry if they ever heard about it. Well, Alfred wouldn't. Pluto might be mad, though.
Solaris disappeared with a crack in order to greet the help immediately. "Thank you for coming."

Rev---&---Eira---&---Delilah

Rev was rather surprised to see the turnout.
There were only two Pokemon standing there from the Ice Guild.
A Zangoose known as Delilah, and the Ice Guild Master herself.
The elder Zangoose stepped forward, clearing his throat a little.
"Is this really all you brought, Miss Eira?" Rev questioned.
"Don't question the Guild Master, old man!" Delilah hissed as she stepped forward.
Eira sighed a little at her comrade's temper.
"More may come, but since I've heard about flying types, I figured one skilled Ice user such as myself would suffice..."
She looked over at Solaris.
"I-If you think we need more Pokemon, I will send for them... Although most of my Guild got the memo when yours did."

Frost & Nikolas & Kenna

+ Guild of Morning Star Members

The massive Arcanine tilted his head, his fluffy tail flicking seriously. Beside him, Nikolas stood with his arms folded sternly across his chest, and several other members of his guild, including Kenna, were stacked up behind him like a miniature army.
Though he hadn't been guildmaster for long, and he certainly wasn't the oldest of Pokemon to take the lead, his guild has seemed to accept him, and he hadn't had much trouble in earning their sympathies and respect. They'd been looking for a leader, and they'd found one, however unusual he was.
"Solaris, Tolin." The great Fire-type dipped his head in greeting, his voice a deep, mature growl in his throat. "I brought my stronger members; judging from what the Azumarill told us, I can assume you don't exactly expect this battle to be easy... Though, I really can't see how Alfred and Pluto fit into this picture." He arched an eyebrow, amused. Tolin had really wanted to assistance, if he was throwing named like that around.
It was clear from the very strong-looking guild members behind him, all looking very much prepared, that Frost hadn't taken the call for warriors lightly, and that he didn't intend to simply send younger members running after the beck and call of other guilds. He'd been concerned, with the mention of their world's balance, that their job would be a lot more difficult than first expected.
"On a more serious note, what exactly are you asking us to throw ourselves into?" Nikolas piped up, staring rather pointedly at the Scyther. "An even better question; why are we throwing ourselves into it? Lia told us it was extremely important that we join you on this, just not what 'this' actually is."
Frost's ears flattened in silent agreement with his second-in-command.

Solaris---Tolin

"Frost." "Good evening, Frost." They both returned the gesture in kind.
"This many should be fine." He was hoping for a bit more from the Shimmering Ice, but Eira had a point that a powerful ice type was worth a considerable amount. Besides that, they couldn't exactly camp in front of the enemy base while reinforcements were sent for. Moving back would put them on guard for sure, so they were best off where they were. At the very least, Frost had brought enough pokemon.
Tolin tapped the wood sharply with his scythe. It was thick and solid. He had been expecting skepticism, so it was easy enough to deal with.
"These weren't here a week ago. In that short time, I'd guess about one hundred flying types have made their home here. Although most of them shouldn't be terribly strong, what happens if we leave that for another week? A month? For that matter, how are the trees so big? They're tall enough to be decades old and the trunks are warped together. Whatever was used to put these up wasn't natural."
Sometimes "not natural" was a strong psychic. But nothing like this. This was downright rift-tearing balance-destroying goodness.
He took his scythe and ran it along a few of the tree trunks to create a fairly large "crease" in the wood before slipping a loose necklace off his neck. It was secured with string and by all means looked rather... mechanical in nature.
"ASAR, out." On command, the necklace lit up as the small screen shone brightly. A small, red laser shot out and began to trace out the image of the Porygon-Z, who appeared promptly.
"HeLLO!"
"We need a hole. Right there. Would you mind?" Tolin turned the Porygon towards the area he had marked off.
The Porygon-Z's head began to spin quickly until a large, sustained hyper beam shot out. ASAR quickly carved a large hole through the wall of trees that would allow them access to the interior.
Tolin quickly stored the Porygon back away in the device by tapping him with it.
Solaris watched the spectacle with an ever-growing sense of "maybe this is a bad idea", but it was too late to turn around now. Besides, think of the Guildmaster position!
"Well then, let's go."

Tolin stepped in through the hole alongside Solaris. The forest immediately erupted into a chorus of caws and chirps at the presence of the intruders; not just one, as before, but many.
Around each bird's neck dangled a light blue pendant with a stamp of a black wing.
Tolin called out into the trees. "Where's your leader? I'm here to kill him." Solaris glanced up at him in a look of shock, but the Scyther ignored him.
Seconds passed to a minute before an abnormally large Pidgeot appeared. He was at least six and a half feet--a good foot and a half taller than normal.
"Who are yoooooou?"
Solaris cleared this throat and stepped forward. "I'm Solaris, guildmaster of the Guild of the Sun. We're here to stop the damage you're doing."
The Pidgeot looked clearly annoyed as he stared at the cat. "Not yoooooou. Don't care about yoooooou. Care about guy who broke in earlier." Solaris looked annoyed, but stepped back slightly.
"I'm Tolin."
"Why yoooooou here? This not place for yooooooou."
"I'm here to kill you. You got a hold of a power you weren't meant to have."
The Pidgeot erupted into laughter. "Would like to see you try!" He raised both wings from his lofty perch and a strong, almost palpable wind began to blow. The younger and weaker flying-types within the almost kilometer-wide "forest" were instantly blown off their branches and sent tumbling to the ground.
Tolin braced his leg behind him when the wind became apparent. This is... Tailwind?
The Pidgeot simply fell off his branch before catching the wind with his wings and speeding towards Tolin. The Scyther threw himself sideways to avoid the fatal blow, only to find the wind having turned elsewhere as the Pidgeot did.
Solaris dug his claws into the ground, lest he be torn away himself. "Everyone, be careful! The wind moves with him, so try to keep yourself firm to the ground!"

Unfortunately, it was not one foe they had to battle, but many. Flying-types began to take off from their branches, their eyes constantly following their leader so that they could gain strength from the winds he had created.

The winds are constantly tossing the group about! Try to keep your balance, and be wary of the oncoming force; since they're all moving on the same wind, they'll be attacking close together!

User Image~SonataUser Image~Mikhail
Sonata had arrived with the rest of her guild; standing idly with her team as matters of concern were spoken between the guildmasters. For the moment she tried to keep her distance from Kenna also. Her and the other canine were on solid ground with each other for the moment but unfortunately said ground only consisted of a figurative thin sheet of ice. It wasn't that voices were ever raised or anything at each other, Sonata surely would have hated that, but when the two were possibly subconsciously after the same goal the well managed dislike was understandable. The Absol simply tagged along as quiet as always until the collective of guilds suddenly found themselves in a kerfuffle as usual. She being forced to play along of course and do her part, a slashing down of a Swellow sufficing enough as she barely managed to stray one of the birds from the flock.
Mikhail, also having traveled along with his guild, was at the moment taking a defensive stance hovering above Eira. Granted they both had the upper hand against the enemy, it was still etched into his head that she was far to frail and feminine to participate in any such fighting, even after seeing what she was capable of. In that moment a duo of Altaria came too close to his precious guildmaster for comfort and he proceeded to maneuver himself away from her for just a second to take care of said problem. Within a blink of an eye there was a pile of cloud-looking down separate from two blue bodies which were slowly getting more pallid as blood escaped from where fragile wings used to be. He wasn't about to take any chances against the possibility of the only thing meaningful in his life getting harmed.

"I-I'll be fine."
It was fortunate that Raven was able to even stutter out an answer after the slew of fearful thoughts that were presented to him. Granted if he wasn't told anything to begin with he would have been fine facing such an enemy, but just the fact that he was questioned by his teammates to if he was able to handle things or not was enough to send him into a mental spiraling panic. Would he return home to his family alive? What if he ends up with one of those post-war mental issues? What if he's eaten alive by birds? These and many more were only the beginning of stressful questions to enter the Lucario's head. Not that stuff like this happened on a daily basis or anything. From that point on he trailed ever so slightly behind his team, the worrying continuing onward with a nervous twitch accompanying it every so often. Once in battle though, as usual, the story changed completely and without missing a beat the wings of a nearby Noctowl were punctured to the point of no longer being able to retain flight by means of carefully placed aura-sphere bullets. He not being in the mood to deal with the guilt of causing death today, severely injuring though to the point of incapacitating was another story.

Rev---&---Eira---&---Delilah

Eira lifted her arm, holding it above her head as the wind began to blow strong.
"I should h-have known they w-wouldn't go quietly..." She whimpered softly as the male Weavile she had been bonding quite well with arrived to defend her.
"M-Mikhail! Stay near me!" She cried out before she inhaled deeply and exhaled an Icy Wind attack.
Her wind cut through the Tailwind that was blowing against her and those very close to her area, protecting them from the strong winds and taking down a Fearow in the process.

As soon as he felt a small breeze, Rev was quick to ties his scarf tightly around his neck so it wouldn't fly off.
As it got stronger, he slammed one of his claws into the ground, hooking into it so he'd stay put.
"Let's hope someone learns something..." He grunted to himself as he kept his gaze locked on a Noctowl that was speeding right toward him, beak first.
He waited until the perfect time to act.
Keeping one of his clawed hands lodged in the ground, he jumped up and back, flipping and causing his claws to become dislodged, along with a large clump of ground.
This clump went straight up, smashing right into the bird's face.
The Noctowl's wings spread out defensively, causing the wind to blow it hard forward.
Rev simply held up a claw, which one of the Noctowl's wings slid across.
The was a flash of blood, and the one-winged Pokemon collapsed to the ground.

Delilah watched the older Zangoose in awe.
Damn those were some moves!
Lodging her claws into the ground,l she attempted to replicate Rev's clever attack.
However, it only resulted in her jumping up and getting Aerial Ace'd in the chest by a Fearow.
"Son of a b***h!"

Reaver grimaced at the scene before him. Having never been in such a battle before, he hesitated slightly and remained out of the line of fire. Glancing at Quazi, he expected his captain to call for a retreat. He was surprised to see the Mudkip standing firm, grimacing at the defeat of the Fearow at the claws of the senior Zangoose. Before Reaver could question Quazi about whether or not they were going into the fray, Quazi bound forward into a battle. His foe was a Honchkrow which made it's way to collect the pendant from around the fallen Fearow. "RRAAAAAHH!!" cried out Quazi as he leapt and tackled the pillaging Honchkrow to the ground. Disorientated, the Honchkrow began to flap his wings to raise dust into the eyes of its attacker. Wincing at the dirt going into his eyes, Quazi began to Growl, making his opponent believe it was being attack by a smaller and weaker pokemon than it really
was. Convinced it was only a fluke that it was hit, the Honchkrow used a weak peck attack, causing Quazi little damage. It began to hop back to the remains of the Fearow to collect the pendant it wore once it thought the little annoyance was taken care of.

With a quick water pulse to the temple, Quazi managed to damage and confuse the flyer. Reaver rushed to the scene and went before Quazi in a battle stance. With a battle cry of his own, Reaver raised onto his hind legs as both of his front paws glowed with a silvery light. He leapt at the Honchkrow, his paws outlined with the shape of vicious Arggon claws, and tore into its chest. The bird fell flat on it's back, defeated.

Quazi walked in front of Reaver, ducking the whirling wind above him, and went to the bleeding creature before him. Without a word, Quazi bit the chain of the Honchkrow's pendant and tore it from it's neck, collecting his self-claimed reward. Reaver turned to see that the Fearow still had it's pendant- Quazi left it untouched.

Frost & Nikolas & Kenna & Ketsueki & Maisha & Kaiyou

+ Guild of Morning Star Members

The Arcanine watched with mild curiousity as a hole was sliced through the tree trunks, his ears flat against his great head.
He turned, however, feeling the familiar feeling of ghostly fingers on his shoulder.
It was not Nikolas.
Suki floated there, her hat tilted down to hide her face. She floated there, motionless, with a small, transparent Gastly waiting at her shoulder.
From his other side, Nikolas tilted his head to see around Frost, staring in confusion at the sudden appearance of two ghosts they'd not brought with them. They were Members of the Sun Guild, he was pretty sure.
All moments of thought, however, ceased to exist as the hole was opened up, and everyone began to file through the gap, in a manner that could only be described as orderly chaos.
Frost slipped through, his ears pricked as he gazed about him. The masses of bird Pokemon that swelled among the treetops was incredible, their perches so full that the smaller birds were often found clinging to the backs of the larger ones.

Kaiyou growled, being shuffled in just behind a group of Pokemon he didn't know. Raven was still at his side, though the two ghosts had vanished off somewhere.
An uneasy silence fell over the place, and he could hear the words being spoken clear as day. He felt his stomach twist uncomfortably, and he crouched on all fours instinctively, feeling the energy immediately begin to churn within his body.
Moments later, the crowd around him seemed to shiver, the wind buffeting their bodies as though they were nothing but toy soldiers.
Kai leaped into action, darting through the crowd, and weaving around the feet of other members, to run head-long into the air current. He was close enough to the ground that, although the running was tricky, his strength could pull him forward.
He leaped into the current, his forearms swirling with Ice Magic. A dual Ice Punch smashed into the Staraptor's wings, and both Pokemon fell earthward, Kaiyou twisting to pull the bird Pokemon beneath him. With a sickening crack, he landed on top of it, crouched like an angry cat.

Frost snarled, rearing up onto his hindpaws, and shutting his eyes tightly as the wind hit his face. Blindly but surely, he snapped down with a Crunch, flames streaming from his mouth.
He dragged the helpless, burning bird from the air, shaking his head to snap it's neck with ease.
Another bird, more intent with it's aim, circled 'round, slamming into Frost's shoulder. He dropped the first, letting out a sharp snarl in a mixture or surprise and fury. Twisting, he let loose a Flamethrower, the super-heated flames surging over the body of the Skarmory, and the metal lighting up under the temperatures.
It screeched in agony, and Frost slammed a paw down, knocking it aside. It wouldn't cause trouble, though he doubted that he'd killed it for sure.

Ketsueki, Nikolas, and Maisha were all after the same goal, leaping faithfully into the winds. As Ghost-types, they merged with the air and shadows, leaping determinedly from one to the next as they approached the Pidgeot.
With a harsh cry, Suki struck first, breathing an Icy Wind across the outspread wings of the Pidgeot, and slamming both fists down onto the closer wing.
All it took was a beat of the Pidgeots wings to free itself, knocking her back as she merged swiftly once more with the shadows, breathless.
Maisha didn't stop in her attack, ignoring the damage done to her teammate as she sped toward the back of the Pidgeot's neck like a well-placed bullet. Her Skull Bash struck the bird's shoulders, and she felt the light, hollow-boned body quiver under the fierce impact.
She had nothing to grasp on with, however, and she felt the air trying to pull her away.
A firm arm wrapped around her, slamming her face right back down into the Pidgeot's shoulders, making her hiss in irritation, a Water Pulse spewing from her mouth to move the feathers out of her way, though she didn't particularly care what it damaged.
Nik released her, and she flew back into the shadows, rejoining Suki to regroup and attack again.
The air around the Banette flashed dark, to the point where the air was entirely void of light, and back again, his Nightshade pulling the very air from the lungs of the bird he clung to. He reared back with his fist, slamming it down against the Pidgeot's shoulders as Suki had done, and he paused suddenly, leaping off as a powerful Ice Beam struck from out of practically nowhere.
Maisha was tailing the Pidgeot once again, and a fuming Nikolas pulled her back into the shadows, both crying out sharply as an Aerial Ace sliced across their backs.

Kenna stood, her body braced against the winds, and breathing a steady Flamethrower into the faces of the oncoming birds. She felt their wings beat at her face, and screeched all around, though she knew not who or how many she'd hit.
She ducked down to escape their counter attacks, twisting and leaping with the wind instead.
Her expert paws struck the back of a small Honchkrow, a Heat Wave surged over it's body as her anger intensified.
Flames spilling from her gaping jaws, she lunged, her brilliant orange eyes fixed on the Dark-type's body.
A Wing Attack struck the side of her face, and she yelped in pain, lashing her nine tails back at him in a Faint Attack. Though the Dark-type wasn't terribly damaged by the move, it was surprised, and quickly pinned down again, this time with Kenna's savage fangs ripping into its wings, and tearing them from its body.

{{ - 4 Flying-Types, and a whole bunch of damage to the Pidgeot. }}

Suicune

Suicune moved at a leisurely pace, staying far off to the side of the Guild, far enough that she was simply a wisp on the horizon. The Guild was a large gathering of Mortals, and she really did not want to deal with them.

She frowned at the sight of the merged trees, puzzled as to their nature. How did they grow like that, as to form an impenetrable wall? She moved her way a bit closer, reluctant to be so near the Mortals once more -she saw the gazes directed at her when she entered the guild- but she needed to know what was going on.

She watched as from the Scyther sprang some phantom unknown to Suicune, who blew apart a hole in the line of trees. She winced at the display, silently apologizing to the plants.

Suicune made her way through the hole before the others, darting in as no more than a blur of blue. She immediately moved into the concealing underbrush of the forest, glad for the shield against mortal eyes, as she took in the scene for herself.

As the battle erupted as the wind began to lash in every which direction, Suicune remained unmoving, untouched. She easily countered the Tailwind with her own, creating a dome of calm about her. She was still hesitant to join the fight, so for now she simply observed.

At least until a Dodrio charged in from between two trees at her. Suicune easily dodged aside, landing softly on her feet as the bird tried to stop its momentum and promptly ran face-first into a treetrunk. Suicune calmly breathed a layer of ice over it, trapping its legs and two of its head against the ground and tree, as the third head squawked angrily.

With a claw Suicune swiped off the necklace around the bird's neck and examined it.

Atra && Melissa

Melissa did not like this. Maybe she shouldn't have come with the guild. Flying types...they had sharp beaks that tore easily through her delicate flesh...and the wind! Even though she had a rather low centre-gravity it didn't change the fact that she didn't weigh very much.

She nearly flipped onto her side from the force of the wind, just in time to see a Crobat flying at her. Panicking, her vines dug deep into her bag and grabbed the first Orb that she thought would save her.

She disappeared and reappeared elsewhere, finding herself face-to-face with a burnt and rather angry looking Scyther. Much younger-looking than the one that had lead them here. And much more angry.

With another cry she pulled out a second Wonder Orb, and activated it. The Bug-type was hurled back from her even as the Bulbasaur herself was pushed back from some recoil, to land on her back.

Atra meanwhile, was very very confused when the scyther he was facing suddenly disappeared to be replaced by a Crobat. With an irritated growl he ripped the Poison type's wings off with fire-enforced teeth. Best not to question the madness that seemed to follow the Guild.

((-1 flying types, there's now a burnt Scyther thrown somewhere randomly in the fray. Hooray for Switcher and Hurl orbs! ))

Cecil

The sound of metal resounding on metal could be clearly heard from where Cecil did battle. A rather young Skarmory was before him, the two furiously slashing and stabbing, countering and parrying at each other in a contest of swordsmanship.

Cecil danced with his Tail-Sword expertly, but was unable to find any breaks in his enemy's defence. The Skarmory was well-armoured, but the warrior was reluctant to resort to other means. The Steel-type slashed across with its wing, and Cecil quickly darted backwards, then right back in, stabbing with his aim at the bird's red feathers.

It was a hit! His sword went through the delicate portion of the wing, drawing blood. The Skarmory screeched and hopped backwards, suddenly fear in his eyes. Blood flowed freely from the centre shaft of the feather he had severed. It was a Blood Feather. If the Skarmory did not get immediate medical attention he may well bleed to death.

Cecil darted back in, unwilling to give his opponent the chance to flee. Either the Skarmory would die or he would give in. The steel-type seemed intent on fighting though, and opened its mouth, letting out a sound that's hard to describe. It wasn't pleasant though, and the Metal Sound jarred the warrior to the core, stopping him temporarily. Enough time for the Skarmory to jump at him with a violent peck, flailing at the Smeargle with razor-sharp wings.

Cecil stumbled back, doing his best to fight off the attacks, but the peck had gone deep into his shoulder. He grabbed his sword from his limp right arm with his left hand, but he was not a left-handed fighter. The cuts began to land on him with more frequency and more severity.

((Cecil needs help. Luna, if Frost does it then I can finally get Cecil into the Morning star guild, pretty please? ))
