As the stallion spoke the mare closed her eyes, imagining the world and the journeys they could embark upon together. It all seemed so fanciful to her, and she imagined all the tales she might tell later to her family upon her eventual return. How pleased they will be her, how proud! Her fantasies were colored with an ever-present thrill of fear that coursed through her. The petite mare had always stuck to the shadows, as her family almost always had. She had shunned the world and this new concept of going out and being in danger and helping others was almost overwhelming. "We can't go back," she breathed, returning to reality suddenly. A determination had settled over her, and an intense desire to share these new experiences with Galahad. "I can't return until I have seen the world and learned all I can. I want to go forth with you, and meet your mentor, and help others, and fight what monsters we may happen upon. I need to do this," her voice softened, filled with a quiet resolution. She had been penned up too long and now she was seeing the world for the first time. She couldn't turn back. But she felt she most certainly couldn't have proceeded without the stallion with her. She was emboldened by his presence, comforted by the sound of his voice. She wanted to go into the world as much to stay with him as to actually learn what she could about it.

The determination that colored Nita's voice surprised Galahad. It wasn't that he thought the mare might shy away from such an opportunity, but he had always known her to prefer a quiet lifestyle. Her family had always been shrouded in a bit of mystery and secrecy; they lived in the shadows and seemed (in Galahad's opinion) to keep to themselves. It wasn't that they were unfriendly, they merely lived a different sort of lifestyle. So to see the violet flutter suddenly reach out, to express a desire to see the world and share it with him was surprising.

Delight, but surprising.

Thankfully for Nita, Galahad was the sort of stallion who did what he could to help others. Not only did he wish for her to remain at his side, for as long as she might be willing, but if he could introduce her to a world she had yet to know, if he could show her things she might never have seen, that would be quite the adventure indeed. And who better to share it than with his old friend?

Dipping his head, Galahad turned his green eyes on her own. "Well then, it's settled. I will take you wherever you wish to go, for as long and as far as you desire. And I promise you will have the time of your life. There is so much out there, so much even I haven't seen. . . it will be good to have someone to share such experiences." For that, he would be entirely grateful. Galahad was not the sort of stallion who did well alone. He could handle himself and live independently, but he much preferred family and freinds. And while he was out in the world, while they were there together, with Nita there was no one else he could possibly want to be at his side.

Strange really, but having gone so long without her in his life, with having left her as hardly older than a colt, he wasn't so quick to forget her. There was much time they had to make up, but at least, here and now, they might be able to do so. It would be good to get to know his friend better, instead of thinking of her as just a memory.

"All you need but say the word, and we'll go. Whenever, wherever." And that was a promise he wouldn't so easily break. There was more strength in her soul than she realized, and Galahad hoped that she might return home satisfied in the knowledge she might learn.

Nita was smiling from ear to ear, a rare expression on her face. She was not an unhappy creature, but unaccustomed to being so open with her emotions. She already felt the tugging pull of the shadows, to hide, but she shook that off. There was so much strangeness in her family, so much to hide, but she didn't want that life anymore. She feared the rejection that might come if others learned of her heritage, but with Galahad with her, she knew she would always be accepted. And so, with this realization in mind, her smile remained and she turned to look out over the horizon. "Let's go now; I can hardly wait! Let's chase the horizon until we find the edge of the world!" She laughed and started off, hardly looking to see if Galahad was following. She was certain he was!

Galahad couldn't help but be pleased by the days turn of events. How long he had searched for his lost friend, and somehow, someway, he had actually discovered her. The way she smiled, the way her expression lingered upon her features, and the joy that seemed to radiate from her. It was a side of the typically quiet and reserved mare Galahad didn't often see, so it was now a moment to treasure. He'd remember her smile, and he'd do whatever he could to make sure it stayed there permanently.

As the flutter mare made her exclamation, Galahad wasn't far behind. It didn't bother him that night had fallen over the lands, that his journey had taken him far from home, and likely would continue to pull him from his family. No, with his friend once more in his life, he would travel the world multiple times just to see her smile. Laughing at her excitement, the stallion trotted happily after her. "We'll stop when we grow weary, eat when we hunger, and have no map to guide us. The world is our playground, Nita, let's see where tomorrow might take us."

No regrets, no worries. . . This was their time, together.

((So. . . think that's a good wrap for this RP?))
