Ghasia hesitated, the heat in her cheeks only increasing. She had been a shy girl, and while her brother had been off woo'ing the women, she had always been hiding somewhere, so she'd never been complimented by a male, and certainly not like that. Her heart fluttered a little, her innocent mind concocting all sorts of romantic scenarios while her smile grew.

"Well, I do suppose you have that advantage over grass," she said cheekily. She hesitated again, his skilful words winning her over quite obviously. "Do you really think my eyes shine like stars?" She asked, clarifying, as she was afraid it was actually a joke. She moved a little close to him, still standing.

"Just like," he said softly, reaching out to brush his head as lightly as he could against her shoulder, "It's startling, such a color as if some bright light shines behind them. It must be your mind." His words were almost a little too calculated, but for once he was telling what he truly believed. She was worth much more than she seemed to believe. He might stay here for a while, or follow her, he hadn't yet decided.

Ghasia's smile was gentler now, and almost a touch sad, as if she wasn't sure if she wanted to believe him or not. She wasn't used to be compliment, but it was nice. She giggled a little, though it sounded breathless. "Well, aren't you just a sweet-talker," she murmured, moving a little closer to him, almost without noticing.

"You're quite handsome," she responded, sounding rather awkward but trying to return the compliments. She gave him an open, honest smile, in hopes that it would tell him more then her words had.

He could sense her unease and felt a bit bad about it. Not everyone could spend their life working their hardest to have an advantage in any social situation. A joke might put her at ease, it seemed to have before. "I know," he retorted, giving her a wide smile as he got to his feet and paced around her slowly, "I've heard it all my life, it's a curse." His cape draped crookedly over his shoulder, acting as an odd little backdrop for his monologue. "It has it's advantages," he continued with a purer laugh than he had offered before, "For instance ladies like yourself don't run from me like they would if I were some horrible beast."

The joke worked as he had intended, and she relaxed, a warm smile fluttering across her face. She twisted a little, trying to keep a watch on him as he paced around her, an amused expression on her face at his speech. "Even horrible beasts can have hearts of gold, with or without a sweet talking tongue," Ghasia pointed out, her smile growing. This was good. He wasn't being serious. Ghasia wasn't much one for seriousness, though she had always been a romantic. She preferred the jokes to the serious compliments, she just didn't know how to take them.

"I suppose," he admitted cheerfully, "Though to be honest I've never stuck around one long enough to know." He settled just to the right of her, slinking down to a comfortable laying position. The cape has settled even on his back now, acting as a sort of safety blanket. He always felt more confident well adorned, it gained him a superficial respect. "What about you Ghasia, from where do you get your heart of gold?" he asked with a hint of teasing, "Do you have a family?"

Ghasia nodded, understanding how some would turn tail and run from beasts, but she had always been curious. What was actually counted as a 'beast'? She shook her head, dispelling the thoughts and refocusing on the male before her. He had laid himself to the floor and she hesitated, before lying as well, settling before him so they were close, but not touching.

"My heart of gold?" She repeated, cheeks heating again, but a fond smile graced her face. "I do have a family. My brother. I only found him again recently, we'd lost track of each other. I have nieces and nephews now too," she said nodding. "I had...a grandfather, but he is no longer with us. He raised my brother and me." She glanced at Shambe, aware she may have rambled about her family. "And you, Kind Sir Shambe?" She asked, with a small smile. "Do you have family?"

Children. No, he didn't need to tell her about them, that might put her off trusting him. But Cashile perhaps, he had done the best for her, it made him appear strong. "I have many siblings, though I have lost contact with them," he told her, a bit saddened by the thought, "But I also have a daughter, Cashile, she has been given off to become a princess, it made her so happy." He felt a warmth when he spoke about her, even if his troubles dealing with her had ultimately led to all of this.

Ghasia was a little surprised to hear he was a father, but she tried not to let that surprise show, in case it hurt his feelings. She wouldn't have pegged him as a daddy, but..."You would be a good father, I think," Ghasia mused, almost to herself before smiling. "A princess? Every girl's dream." She gave a small laugh. "You must really love her." She could hear the fondness in his tone as he had spoken about his daughter.

"I do," he told her as his face softened, "But I'll be the first to admit that I wasn't ready for her. It's fortunate that such an opportunity came along for her, I know always that she is being cared for and that I may visit her if I want." Not that he had wanted to in the past, but you could never tell about the future. He had adjusted to the time without her. "I think it's for the best that I let her grow up her own way," he added, smiling a bit.

She didn't hesitate and reached out a paw, placing it over his and smiling. "It takes a wise man to realise when someone can do better than you can at something." She was impressed. Most people who were not ready for something did it anyway, and usually messed it up. But not him. He was smarter then that .

"Your daughter might thank you, one day, for giving her up for a better life," she said quietly. "But princess or not, a girl never forgets her daddy." She hoped Shambe would visit his daughter. She could not remember much of her parents but she had had her Grandfather and Mauja for support too.

"No, I don't think she will," he added with a laugh, trying to lighten the situation, "She was always upset with me because she felt I didn't give her enough." Of everything, truthfully. He had always given her more than enough to eat and plenty of warm shelter in the night but she had wanted trinkets and followers. She had that now, so it had all worked out. "She has her life and I have mine, and I'd like to spend some of mine here, if that's alright with you?" It wasn't quite a question, he wasn't even sure that this area was where she usually stayed.

Ghasia smiled. "She sounds well suited to a princess role," she said light-heartedly, as she heard the cub had wanted more then her father had given. Taking note of his change of conversation, she went with it.

She gave a gentle laugh. "Hopefully not right here?" She teased. "I was just going to find a den near here for the night when you stumbled upon me and distracted me." She pushed herself up and smiled. "Would you like to find one together and save time?" She asked, not realising how her suggestion might be taken in a less then innocent way. She enjoyed his company and knew that finding vacant dens could be quite hard sometimes. It would save them both time and energy to simple share a den, and he seemed quite harmless - so she was not worried.

A bold move, he couldn't help but appreciate it however she had meant it. "I'd like that," he agreed, getting to his feet, "I passed another wanderer when I was coming up this way, he looked well rested, maybe he left one behind?" It was perhaps wishful thinking but he didn't want to lose the opportunity. He still wanted time to figure out what it was about this female that lit up his insides so much. Maybe it was everything combined. Either way it was intoxicating.

"That sounds like a good place to start," Ghasia admitted and smiled, nudging him playfully. "Race you there?" She joked and started to move off quickly, before pausing and laughing.

"Or I would, if I knew the way." She shook her head and smiled back at him. "Perhaps you should lead the way?" She asked, perfectly content to follow wherever he led her. He gave her reasons to smile, more then many people had ever given her. She had missed talking to people, learning their stories and this male was one of the more fascinating people she had met.
