Shen....was sooo not going to say anything. Yea he knew the female was there, yea his tree was probably the best place to shelter in the immediate area, considering it was mostly a dumping of rain with very light amounts of lightning. No, he was not going to even try communication. Besides being troublesome, it would probably turn into nothing but more trouble!

It didn't take her long to reach the tree the male was in. She didn't stop though. She continued past the tree a little ways stopping under another that rested just behind the one the male was in. Her pride was ruined no thanks to the storm and her rotten luck. She had hoped by the time she got back the male would be gone and he wouldn't have seen her like this. She looked away as she sat down at the base of the tree. It had only seconds when she felt a tickle in her nose. "Mm... Achoo!" She sneezed and with that came a burst of wind that made her shutter.

"Bless you," Shen said automatically, before he could stop himself, and his expression dead-panned. Darn having a mother who insisted on beating (literally) manners into him. His mom could be such a scary woman when it was her family involved.

At that point she was little surprised to hear the male say 'Bless you.' Quite honestly she didn't think the guy had any manners at all. She was debating weather or not she was going to thank him or just ignore him. Finally she figured she should at least say something. She was born with manners after all... weather she wanted to use them was entirely up to her. "Thank you..." She mumbled as she looked away. "Mm!" Then wind picked up and because she was wet it only made her worse. She started to shiver and to try and keep herself at least some what warm she crouched into a ball.

"You're gonna catch a cold you know, all soaked like that in this weather," Shen commented in an off-hand way that didn't betray either major concern or lack of care. Like most things about him it was fairly neutral.
Yea, pointing out the obvious was just something he did sometimes; he fully expected a snarky retort. Not only was it obvious, what the heck could be done about it? The nearest source of any kind of heat was himself, and like hell was he crawling there to, he shuddered, snuggle.

"Well thank you captain obvious." Techno quickly turned her head away from him. She knew she would most likely catch a cold. Their were no shelters near by except the tree she was under and the only warmth she had was her own body heat. She sneezed again then glanced back at the male in the tree. Damn him for looking all snug up there and warm. She wrapped her tail around herself tight. "Tech... and like hell I would want to snuggle with you..." She mumbled as she looked away.

"I'm not much of a snuggler myself," Shen responded, the natural tone in his voice always managing to make him sound lazy or slightly sarcastic. He could sound serious if he wanted to, it was just he preferred not to if it was needed.
But-. Shen sighed. "I guess I wouldn't mind sharing body heat though, if you asked nicely." To anyone who didn't know him he might have sounded a bit rude; those who did know him would have heard the undercurrent of humor.

What?! Her ears went up as she heard what she thought she heard. Did he just say if she asked nicely? Oh no... no way! Her ears went down again as she averted her eyes away from him. There was no way she was going to give into him and beg! No way! The last thing she was going to do was go crawling and begging to that male for help... She then shivered as another blast of wind hit. Ok well... maybe she would. She closed her eyes and sighed. I can't believe i'm doing this... "Would you... please come down here and help me...?" of course it was a muffled plea.

"Why can't you come up here," he asked, yawning, but it was a rhetorical question. Anyway the ground below the tree was just as likely to be as dry as his branch, not to mention it might absorb all the water the female was dripping better.
'So troublesome,' he thought, as he pulled himself off the branch to the ground below. And after all the effort to get up there in the first place. Finally he found himself on the ground and next to the female; he had promised, after all.
"Name's Shen, by the way," he said as he sat next to the vixen, lightly leaning against one side of her. Grooming was another way to help the fur dry quickly, but Shen was hoping to leave that part of it up to the female and leave his job to be just the heater.

Techno comically gave him a look. Yeah right. There was no way she cold climb up a tree. Especially when she was freezing. She wouldn't be able to grip the bark to climb not to mention the ground was dry and already absorbing some of the water and the tree she was sitting next too was blocking the wind.
"I think im better off here... thanks." She looked away. If he couldn't take time out his perfect day to help her then she didn't want it. He was obviously stuck up. It did surprise her however when he did come down and sit next to her. She really hadn't expected him to come down.
"Shen..." She dwelled on the name and supposed she should introduce herself. "Techno..." She looked away. "Yes, I know its a strange name I get it all time." She said before he could make fun. Most of the other foxes did.

Shen just shrugged. "Wasn't gonna say anything." Some people were just unfortunate enough that their parents gave them odd names, in which they obviously had no choice. And some picked their odd names out for themselves, in which they obviously were a bit odd themselves so making fun wouldn't really do anything. Either way, too much trouble.
"You have a nickname you prefer, or you like your given name just fine," he asked. After all if she was touchy about it....

She glanced over at him with slight surprise. She had thought that maybe he was going to say something about it. Even if he had though she would have just tried to find something wrong with his name... even though she was sure she couldn't. She then glanced away and fixed her eyes on a small bug on the ground. It seemed to be trying to desperately get out of the rain but before it could it got him by a drop of water and washed away. "Mm... Well... some foxes call me Tech... but Techno is fine too..." She looked back at him. "What about you...?"

Shen's face went into a blank deadpan, a somewhat comical expression. "Eh, there's not much you can do with the name Shen. Except make up names entirely unrelated and situated more around personality or something." The expression deepened when he spoke of made-up nicknames. His mother had a horrible habit of inflicting him with cute, pet names that were only cute when one was still a baby.

Techno looked back over at him and felt like an idiot. Of course he didn't have any type of nick name... you couldn't make one without short his was. Why did she even ask that question? She felt like smacking herself over the head for asking him that. She then blinked and the comical expressions on his face. Just what was he thinking about? "Oh... Well... sorry I asked..." She glanced away. "By the look on your face im guessing your mother called you something ridiculous when you were little... am I right?"

Shen sighed and stared out and up at the rainy sky visible beyond the tree he and Techno were sheltered under. "What mother doesn't," he asked in a wry voice. He was pretty sure all mothers who knew their children gave them nicknames. Maybe some of the harsher mothers doled out less that flattering nicknames, but a nickname was still a nickname.
Most of his nicknames were revolved around his lazy and bored personality. Not ones he generally used or shared outside of family.
