xXx_Gwee_xXx i would like to loose weight too, because i am over the weight i am suppose to be at my age. help! redface just don't worry too much about it or you'll become less likely to lose weight. make a lifestyle change, as opposed to going on a diet. with a diet, you'll either have too much trouble with it, or gain the weight back after you're done with it.
it's actually pretty simple to lose weight! now, you won't get overnight results, but you will see a difference eventually. just remember, weight loss takes months to happen. so if it's going slowly, don't worry!
so, here are my tips: -drink water instead of soda, juice, etc. it's actually very easy to abandon high-calorie drinks. if you're really addicted to soda, you can start out by switching to diet soda, and then eventually go on to 0-calorie flavored drinks. there are tons! flavored waters, 0-calorie iced tea, 0-calorie lemonade... you have tons of options!
-don't eat unless you're hungry. sometimes you eat just because you're bored, or you're out with friends, or the food is just there and it's yummy, but you have to pay attention to your stomach, not your mouth, y'know? also, what you think may be big snack or food cravings could just be thirst. drink a glass or two of water and eat a little bit (nothing high-calorie though!) and you'll usually find that your cravings go away after a little while. smile
-get in some type of exercise each day. it's winter, so you probably don't want to go on walks or anything, but there are lots of at-home workouts you can do. a really good one if you have no equipment is going up and down your stairs again and again. it's pretty strenuous exercise and burns tons of calories! even 30 minutes of exercise each day can REALLY help your body & weight loss. try doing some pushups (girl pushups if need be) and situps in the morning and/or before bed. it's quick, pretty casual, and will boost your metabolism AND make you feel great!
-just watch how much you're eating and what you're eating. it's easier than you think to turn down that second helping or a candy bar. if you quickly say "no," it's done, even if you continue to crave it. oh--and when eating, eat slowly and drinks lots of water. water will fill you up quickly, and eating slower gives your body the time it needs to register when you're full or not. it can take your brain & body 20 minutes to register fullness, so you could be eating even though you're not full.
you can look up anything else you're curious about, but it's pretty simple--eat healthy and exercise more. i guess the tougher part is motivation, but i think if you keep it casual instead of thinking "I'M ON A DIET AND I NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT NOW GO GO GO!!" it won't be so hard. i hope i helped you a bit! good luck! smile

I don't think 100 lbs at your hight is healthy. I'm 5'51/2" and I'm supposed to be 135, but the doctor says I need to be at 145 because of how I'm built. I do believe you are medically underweight. Also, most people who have the "fat under the tummy" just have large boobs. It's normal. Also, if you want to lose weight, remember to eat at least 1000 calories, but nothing less and you will gain weight because then your body tries to store the food. That was my major problem. I'm not normally hungry so then I don't eat enough.
Edit: Also, it's best to eat a small breakfast, a snack, lunch, a snack, and then dinner. If it helps, keep a small notebook and count your calorie intake. Like someone said before, it would be smart to talk to your doctor too.

If you want a flatter stomach and thinner thighs then you should work out and get toned, not focus on losing weight. If you just lose weight it doesn't mean the fat is going to come from the places you want it to. Do ab, core, and leg workouts and eat right and you will get toned and be healthy.
If you want to lose weight because you can't fit into your friends clothes then you shouldn't do it. Everyone is built differently and you shouldn't change yourself to be the same size as someone else. I can't fit into my friends clothes but i'm not about to change myself so I can borrow their clothes. If they have something that I really like, I would just buy something similar to it that will fit me.

to the poster of this thread-- fat is basically lost evenly over your body, though depending on genetics, you'll gain/lose more in certain areas. with females, leg fat is usually the last thing to go--but i don't mean that as in all of your weight will be lost from other areas first, just like, if you lost everything you could, most of the fat left on your body would be in your legs. if you hold weight on your stomach & legs, if you lose the 30lbs (i think? too lazy to check back, LOL) you'll slim down A LOT overall, especially your torso & thighs. i think as you lose the weight you'll notice a change in your torso first--less belly fat, ribs/hipbones sticking out more, that sort of thing. thigh weight loss is less noticeable unless it's extreme, like in your case, where you'd get a big thigh gap and all.

I just have to post again because I'm truely worried about you. I just want to reiterate some key points. 1. If you want to get down to 100 lbs, you will be extremely underweight due to your height. Trust me, girls look better when they are healthy looking. Even if you think that the belly fat is bad, well you're wrong. Most girls have it. My friend always talks about hers, but it's a healthy pudge. Another key factor to the pudge is the size of your boobs. 2. If you decide to lose any weight, which I still don't think you should do, eat at least 1000 calories a day. Anything less and you will most likely gain weight. The best calorie count is 1500, but 1000 is good too. If you are having problems counting it, have a notbook to count them up. I have had weight problems for a while now. I've lost like 20 lbs, but then again I am slightly overweight. I know that if I ever were to fit in my friends pants, I will not be healthy at all. That's just because of how I'm built. I have bigger bones than most of the "skinny girls" and I have bigger hips too. There is also a good website to help figure things out. http://kidshealth.org/teen/your_body/This website will help calculate how much you should weigh and explain some things about the body.
