The young doe nodded and took a mental note of what her Alpha had in mind for the Kaw la a-wi. "Later this afternoon I will take a few with me to scout some possible shelter. The sooner we look the better. And I'll stay with the herd while you're away for supplies." When it came to the herd, Jubilee was very serious.
The speckled mare smiled at Florian. She was certainly proving herself as a valued member of the herd. Even though the half-cerynei was ranked as just a vagabond, Jube never felt any differences between those of full or part cerynei - they were all family to her. The mention of her family briefly sparked her curiosity until Temperance changed the subject to some play time.
Though she was an adult, Jubilee could never pass up some time to just goof off. Most likely the reason why the herd's foals always asked her to play, because they knew the answer would always be yes. "I'm all for it!" She replied with a big grin.
She ran ahead without waiting for the other two, her deep green hooves tossing up the soft white snow in her wake. She ducked under a cluster of trees, and a low hanging branch dusted her ruby hair in white. Jubilee giggled like a foal, as she thought of her plan to surprise the others. She utterly adored snow, and if she could she would spend all year high up in the mountains. The cold never bothered her through her thick warm coat.
Once she was safely hidden behind the trees, she quickly dropped and rolled in the blanket of snow trying to better disguise her bright hair. The rolling loosened up a good deal of the snow, perfect for what she had planned. Jubilee knelt in the snow, her cerynei tail twitching in anticipation as she waited for Temperance and Florian to come.

Florian laughed softly as she looked at Temperance and shook her head. “I’m afraid I’m not all that good with navigation,” she confessed with a smile. “I didn’t find the herd on purpose. I would say that it was more of fate or natural luck that I did,” she said. “But I’ll of course help you with carrying supplies back and anything else that you need on the little venture,” she nodded. Florian wanted to help the herd. She didn’t want anyone to think that she was lazy and only cared for herself. She wanted to mingle and make friends with the other members.
Her eyes turned to Jubilee as Temperance mentioned that they should spend some time in the field. Usually Florian wouldn’t turn down any playtime, but right now she wasn’t in the mood. She casually stepped to Temperance and bowed her head. “Please excuse me, Temperance. Thanks for the offer, as it is tempting to spend more time with you and Jubilee. But I’m sure you two have a lot of catching up to talk about. You know, herd stuff,” she smiled. Florian raised her head as she looked to Temperance. “I’m just going to explore a little bit on my own and make myself familiar of this territory,” she paused as she quickly glanced to Jubilee. “Breakfast was very good. Once again, I thank you.” Florian looked to Temperance with a bright smile. The features of her face seemed to glow as she looked at the young buck. She bowed her head before turning around and walking away in the other direction.

((Sorry for being so slow to jump in, life has been crazy!)) Caelius had been up before dawn and had headed into the forest in search of some things he needed. He was still getting used to this herd business and it would take him time to settle in here, he often found himself wandering between here and his cave. Then again his cave had all kinds of things that were useful or had special meaning to him. Today he was wandering back with a good sized bag/pouch around his neck that had all kinds of bits of plants stuck in it, not to mention the tufts of lemon thyme and other fragrant herbs hanging from his antlers. He had found large patches of them in the deeper forest where the snow had yet to reach. Lastly in this weird one soquili parade he dragged an old dry branch behind him, it was hooked on the strap of his bag, though now and then he had to stop and reattach it as it kept unhooking.
Humming to himself was becoming a habit he decided, but then he prefered it to thinking sometimes. So he hummed away unaware of any disturbance he was making to others that might be around as he headed to his new home, though he was still trying to think of it as home, the cave had been home since he had been alone after all.
Stopping his humming as he sees his familiar Hute circle over head before landing in a near by tree, the owl was more than ready for his sleep. Sighing as he finally got back, the humming having stopped, wanting to give Hute some quiet, he set about organising the things he had gathered. Leaving the branch under a tree where it would stay dry he began pottering about his new home, trying to be as quiet as he could.

Temperance bowed to Florian, "Of course I'm am very greatful that you joined us this morning we should do it again soon, if you'll excuse me, I have to chase this crazy red head!" He said louder and winked at Florain as he ran after her. Temperance had always liked to start the day off with some sort of excercise really it was his excuse to not act like a foal sometimes. He felt is was important to have a time to release his energy. He ran up through the trees and into the field. Thinking he would spot Jubilee's hair in the bright sunlight. He couldn't see her, she was great at playing the young ones loved her for it, and he admired her for her compassion for them. He circled around. "Marco!" He yelled out. He saw Hute circling near the herds main camp, he still needed to talk to Cae about his thoughts for this coming winter.

Florian glanced over her shoulder as Temperance hollered playfully out to Jubilee. She laughed quietly and smiled as she looked at the couple that was fading in the distance as she walked further away from them. They were going to be wonderful leaders of the small herd. Florian was glad that she stumbled across this little niche of a family and even more so that Temperance had accepted her. The young mare raised her head as she walked into the sparse woodlands. Snow crunched underneath her hooves as she moved a little bit deeper into the woods, away from the valley. Florian wasn’t sure how vast the territory was and didn’t want to cause any trouble with surrounding herds, so she decided that this was as far as she was going to go today. Her hazel optics looked ahead. Nothing looked dangerous that she could see. The little forest looked peaceful and quiet underneath the morning sun. Florian quickly glanced over her shoulder to see if anyone had followed her or if anyone was keeping tabs on the new mare. Not seeing anyone she decided to take an extra step forwards. Nothing bad happened. Nothing jumped out to scare the mare. She breathed deeply in relaxation before taking another step.
A quiet giggle escaped from her vocals as she felt something tickle at the back of her neck. It was only a low branch that rubbed against her coat. As she ventured further, the more low branches she was coming across. She dipped her head down, careful not to be caught up in their tricky ‘fingers’.
But suddenly she felt…stuck. A branch had found it’s way underneath her flowery necklace and acted like a hook. Florian squeaked out as she tried to give a few tugs, but with every attempt came a failure. She tried to step ahead, careful about not wanting the necklace to break. But the branch didn’t give in.
Great. Florian made a face and snorted.
“Well isn’t this embarrassing,” she muttered.

Jubilee waited as patiently as she could for the other soquili. She heard Temperance shout 'Marco' so she answered him albeit more quietly. "Pollo!"
It took awhile but she finally spotted the blue cerynei. Florian wasn't anywhere in sight, Jube assumed she didn't want to play. Ah well, she thought, I can just mess with Temperance then. She watched her alpha from a distance, her body tensed and ready to pounce when he grew closer.
Then she spotted a shadow in the sky, it distracted her for a moment until it dawned on her that it was Caelius' familiar, Hute. Which meant that their shaman had come back.
She turned her attention back on Temperance's blue body and waited.

Cael pauses and looks around when he had all of the herbs hung up in his teepee, idly wondering where everyone else was. Not that he dwelt on it long, they were all fully grown and capable of looking after themselves. Smiling faintly he started clearing a patch a good distance from the teepees, inspecting it when he had cleared a fair sized area, nodding at the vaguely round shape.
Still wearing his now empty bag he inspected the round bare patch again and nods before he turns and wanders round behind the teepee's. His nose low as he walks along looking for rocks of a specific size. He had decided that they needed a fire, the extra light and heat would be idea in the tail end of winter. He started picking up suitable rocks as he wandered around the area, cheered on by the idea of a lovely warm fire to take the chill off of his fur.

Temperance herd the "pollo" coming from the east. He ran fast over to the sound, he saw something move...boo! It turned around...but who was it?

"Boo!" She yelled leaping up over her snowdrift, bits of it went flying into the air just to slowly fall back onto the packed ice. She shook off the excess snow she had earlier used as a sort of camouflage. Jubilee looked at her startled alpha, a little disappointed he wasn't more surprised. She chortled, "I got ya!" Then without a pause, she nipped his tail and ran past him in a flurry. Her own speckled tail waving to him like a two-legged's beckoning finger.

Temperance laughed she could be such a smarty sometimes...he totally knew where she was. "Boo? who do you think you're scaring sweet Jubilee?" He teased and pranced around her. Then she nipped his tail and took off. "Oh! you little red head, I am going to get you!" She really knew how to make get him to play. He ran after her laughing watching her little tail. She was cute he had to admit to himself.

Cael continued to work on building the herd a fire pit while the others wandered and played. He didn't mind, he liked doing useful things, besides the leaders needed to let off some stress. So he worked, Hute slept and that's how it carried on for now. ((sorry there's not much there but he's not likely to come looking to play))

Jubilee quickly skirted back towards the herd's home. It was always funner to race through such a crowded area compared to the open fields. She spotted a few teepees and a sparce few of the other herd members mosing about. Then she hanged a quick left and dodged a low branch, that apparently had been drying some clothes for the two-leggeds. She glanced back and noticed a few had fallen on the ground. "Ooops..." She made another mental note to go back and pick them up once she was done teasing her alpha.
Before she knew it she was running through Caelius' camp. With a quick leap she cleared the fire pit he was working on. "Hi Cael!" She called behind her as she dashed back through the trees.
Jube had forgotten to look back to see if Temperance was still following. She hoped so. She put on another burst of speed and weaved in and out of the increasingly wooded area. A strange rustling sound nearly stopped her in her tracks. Her pace slowed and finally she stopped to listen. Just around a nearby thicket she could hear the movements of something large.
"Hello?" she called out, wary to move closer in case it wasn't another soquili.

Temperance followed Jubilee. He knew he had to get back toward the camp. Also, he wanted to talk to Cael. about his travels and if he had any advice for him before he left. He saw from the distance that he was carrying branches. More or less for a fire he thought. Temperance grabbed some branches on his way towards Cael. Temperance trusted Cael more than the other males of the herd so far. He still hadn't herd from Bradford and was unsure as his reliance to the herd. Cael was in line for a protector and beta position within the herd. Although his unearthly skills were that of a true shaman, Temperance was unsure if Cael would be up for the role as both. Cael! He called out. Good morning Brother!" He bowed his head and interlocked his horns as a sign of love and respect. "I am glad to see you this fine day, do you have any intuition as to what this winter may bring us?"
(Cael, can have any desired response there is no plot for what the winter will bring so whatever Cael is feeling is completely appropriate and will be incorporated into the herds plot=)

Cael had dropped the rock he had been carrying and looked up blinking as the alpha female darted through his camp and over his fire pit. He might have ways of predicting possible future outcomes but this hadn't been in his clouds for today, then again the little things rarely were. Smiling at the antics, guessing she was flirting/playing with the alpha again. "Hello Jubilee." Not bothering with more of a reply as she was soon gone from sight.
Unsurprised when not long later the alpha turned up, though he was surprised he stopped the chase to talk, must be important to him. Lifting his head from the greeting, it was still odd to him, but then anything to do with his own kind was odd to him. Taking in the question and pondering unaware of the other possible duties the alpha had in mind for him in the future. Looking over at the horizon his eyes scanning the sky, scanning over the clouds following a set direction from wet to east. "There will be a lull in the bad weather soon, but it wont last long, I see the possibility of a bad blizzard coming before the winter ends. I would recommend taking several with you when you travel and bring back extra supplies in case such travel is made harder before spring." His predictions couldn't go too far into the future but he could see that much, and the start of spring soon after. Giving the alpha a small smile. "I hope that helps." Still not used to his role even though it was one that fit him perfectly, he was not used to being asked for for his predictions and was unsure in giving advice like this though he had yet to be wrong.

Florian ears swiveled at the sound of the familiar voices in the near distance. She gulped quietly in hopes that no one had spotted her yet because of the situation she was literally stuck in. She tried moving her head to the side with her neck stretching out a bit in hopes that the branches would give up, but they didn’t and the tiny ‘fingers’ kept pulling on the floral necklace. The young mare breathed deeply and snorted in frustration. This was getting absolutely ridiculous. Why did she have to wander throughout these sparse woodlands anyways? Florian stomped her hoof onto the ground as she thought to herself. She knew that she wouldn’t be able to get the branches from her necklace by herself, especially since she was the one being trapped.
She licked her lips as she shifted a bit on her hooves and tried to glance over her shoulders to where she figured the others were. Her eyebrows furrowed as she wasn’t sure how to get their attention. She didn’t want all of them running over to her aide to see that she was stuck. Florian sighed, ears pulled back as she lowered her head a bit.
