For a moment Belladonna could only stand there looking up at him when he placed a finger to her lips, but when she realized the gesture her face went bright red and she took a faltering step back. Though it was meant as friendly, the witch interpreted it all the wrong way and was now gaping up at the boil in dismay. They were supposed to be bound in friendship, not in courtship! Though... Maybe it wouldn't be a bad binding. The thought was quickly brushed aside as he tugged her into a walk and still a little shocked by the gesture her heels made her take a few tripping starter steps before finally falling back into their easy walk. It was very hard not to say anything while he worked through his emotions and finally her silence was paid off with a confession.

A most interesting confession. This gryphon was become better by the minute!

"You're a vegetarian." Belladonna said this slowly, as though tasting the words to see how they fit. There was a small conflict raging within the witch as she decided how she would approach the subject. Exuberance had so far won his affection, but this was different. This was how she felt too because she was also disappointing her own family, but in a different way. "You want to know something really funny? I'm a vegetarian too." Best to go the softly spoken and more endearing route. "My parents weren't as upset as yours were because well... You know, but that must have been really tough. Its good you're here at Amityville then! You can get away from them and not have to worry about what anyone says."

A bit of quiet would do them good, so instead Belladonna just walked, one hand idly touching Galahad's only half bushy tail since the other half had rotted away, and Binx was still leading them, not at all surprised by the conversation.
"Do you think you would mind showing me your garden sometime? I'm starting a garden club on campus and we'd love for you to join." For a moment she paused, then resumed her normal chipper attitude by adding: "And that's not your entire life story. You didn't mention me once." A smile could not be withheld and was instead blazoned in full glory across her face.

Obviously his little gesture had flustered Belladonna quite a bit. her face was a brilliant scarlet now, and she had moved a bit away from him, looking at him in aghast. Ren frowned.

"Are you all right?" he asked, peering curiously at her. "You've not caught a fever, have you? You look a bit flushed."

Takashiro's tail flipped in front of his face, and Ren pushed it back, hearing a loud purr coming from the Incendia. From the looks of her expression, it seemed as if whatever he had said (or perhaps done?) had caused a slight shift; she had gone from looking surprised to pleased to startled to stunned to understanding and quiet, all within a few moments. It was somewhat interesting to see how open she was with her expressions; Ren found it rather endearing.

"Yes," he answered her. "A vegetarian. I don't like meat, whether it's the smell, the taste, the feel, anything like that. I find it rather nauseating, to be completely honest." Ren shrugged, slightly surprised and a little pleased that Belladonna was, in fact, a vegetarian as well. "I originally became a vegetarian when I was younger to tick my parents off, but then I realized just how gross meat was, and, well, it stuck."

They walked on in a comfortable silence for a few moments, each one taking in what the other had said. Then -

"Do you think you would mind showing me your garden sometime? I'm starting a garden club on campus and we'd love for you to join."

Ren lifted an eyebrow, turning to look at the witch. "I don't....think I'd mind," he said thoughtfully. "I've never shown it to anyone before, but I don't think it would bother me too much."

She had surprised him yet again. Ren stared at her, slightly nonplussed at her comment, and then let out a laugh, shaking his head.

"You're right," he said, patting Takashiro's head. "I did not mention the fact that I met a lovely little witch while out walking today."

"I-i'm fine!" The witch stuttered, her hand loosening on his arm, but returning to what she deemed a normal hold as Belladonna figured it would not do well to go all flustery over someone cute. "A fever? Goodness no, I'm perfectly alright!" But she promised not to say anything about it afterward either. Hopefully this sudden flush would go away. Belladonna was not prepared to explain why she was suddenly so scarlet...

Before Belladonna could stop herself a giggle slipped past, quickly slapping a hand over her mouth with her eyes going wide when she realized the slip.
"Sorry. I don't mean to be rude... I just think its kind of funny you used your eating habits to tick your parents off..." Then she paused, the hand shifting to one finger that she placed under her chin. "Though... I suppose for a gryphon it does make a bit more sense... Reapers don't really care too much about diet. We just eat whatever's tasty and leave the fancy food to the chefs." Her Great Aunt Matilda was a wonderful chef, who never minded taking out the meat from Belladonna's portions. "I mean... I became a vegetarian because I didn't want to promote the death of more animals. I, uh, like them... A lot."
In fact, that sounded way more loserific than Ren's, so Belladonna snapped her mouth closed.

"And I only ask if you'd mind because sometimes people don't like to share their special things." For a moment she let go of his arm to dart in front of him, waving her hands in a frenzied motion in time with her speech. "You know Calder? He's got these--these sticks! In his hair! I tried to take them out to make him look more tidy, but he did not like that at all! He actually got really mad and took my hat! MY HAT." This was a very important point that Belladonna didn't find necessary to explain why it was so important. "So I have him the sticks back and he gave me my hat back too, but the point is! Sometimes people are weird about their special things... So I figured I should ask. Usually I don't." Here she paused before jumping back to Ren's side and linking her arm back in his, though she tripped the slightest but quickly regained her footing.

"Can we go now?" She asked, smiling as widely as possible for such a compliment.

Ren lifted an eyebrow, amused at her reactions. She was a very interesting little witch, that was for certain. She obviously had no qualms about expressing herself, and she seemed to wear her emotions right on her sleeve, which was rather endearing and somewhat adorable. "You're a lovely witch," he said with a laugh, shaking his head as they walked on. "I seem to have stumbled upon quite an amusing ghoul here; you surprise me, Miss Belladonna. I did not expect that when I went for a walk this morning that I would find someone so similar to myself."

The mention of Calder made him snort, and Ren shook his head, Takashiro flicking his tail against his face. "That horse..." he said. "He's, erm. Quite the, uh...interesting one, isn't he?"

Her next question surprised him and Ren stopped walking once more, pausing to look down at her. "Now?" he asked, the faintest hint of pink touching his cheeks. He had not shown anyone his garden (Calder discovering it had merely been an accidental - and unwelcome - fluke), considering that his history with being a vegetarian had not been pleasant. "Er," he said, considering it, rubbing the back of his neck with the hand that held the leashes to his pets. "I, um..."

What could it hurt? Belladonna was very similar to him; she had not given him any reason to dislike or mistrust her. Ren let out a small sigh, tilting his head to smile at her.

"Of course," he said. "I would be delighted to show you; it's just this way," he added, tugging her towards the eastern end of the school, towards the lesser occupied campus.

"Thank you!" The witch beamed up at him, her cheeks glowing with a soft blush that belied her belief that flattery will, in fact, get you everywhere. "I wasn't really expecting to meet anyone on my walk either! I'm glad I did, and so is Binx and Galahad!" The squirrel hissed his assent once before curling up on the witch's shoulder for a possible nap, if she stopped talking long enough for one. "You have such lovely wings. You can fly, right? We should go flying sometime! Nothing is nicer than a midnight flight... " Belladonna sighed at the idea, one hand touching her cheek in a fond way as she recalled she joyous rides in the past.

"Interesting is the only appropriate word for Calder!" Belladonna sing-songed, though she was nodding in a very serious manner. When Ren stopped walking suddenly the witch had not realized it for a step or two and now stood awkwardly apart from him, one arm reaching behind her and her pink eyes round in confusion. While he worked through his emotions she watched him, mouth closed and mind quiet for once. When he smiled she smiled back and rushed back to his side to follow him to his garden.

"You have fun with the garden." Binx called suddenly from behind them, trotting back toward the reaper dorms.
"He must not want to come along..." Belladonna mused, craning her head to watch him leave but turning back to her companion. "Oh well! Galahad and I want to see it!" The squirrel said nothing, but remained curled up on her shoulder, which could have meant a number of things, really. "Do you grow only vegetables? Have you tried any herbs? I haven't started a garden yet, but I really should now that I have some time! Maybe I'll have to find a spot near your's!" Well, so long as it didn't bother Ren any...

Ren let out a laugh, shaking his head. "My dearest Belladonna, you are quite the enchanting one, aren't you?" he said, reaching out his hand to lightly touch her glowing cheek. "You make it quite difficult for people to dislike you. Not that I was inclined to dislike you at first, but you do seem to have a way of making people feel quite at ease."

It was an unusual feeling, especially with someone Ren barely knew, but he could already tell that Belladonna was the sort that was simply cheerful and outgoing, though perhaps with a bit of spunk and fire to her person. It was really very refreshing and quite entertaining.

He began walking again. "Yes, only vegetables, at least for now," he answered her with a smile. "I'm afraid I'm not very good at growing anything else. I tried growing flowers, but they just died. I think I'm only good at growing edible things," he added with a rueful grin. His brows lifted in slight surprise, but his expression rapidly turned amused. "You're welcome to have a spot near mine," Ren said. "I wouldn't mind, though Calder has decided he wants one near mine as well." That odd horse...

They rounded a corner and took a few more steps and there it was. Ren suddenly felt somewhat self-conscious, and he stopped in front of his garden, shifting from one foot to the other. "Erm," he said, flushing slightly. "Well. Well, this it. It's small, but, um. Yeah."
