With the way Mercury looked at her daughter, Arty could easily tell what this was all about. Amaidi was clearly introducing Riku and herself to her mate and his family. A small part of her was sad that her little girl had grown up so fast. But a bigger part of her was trilled that Amaidi would include her in this and still keep her in her life, even though she was starting her own family now.
"Thank you, Mercury. I do not see the resemblance between your mother and yourself but you both have beautiful coats yourself." Arty said with a respectful nod. She turned to give Amaidi an all knowing sweet smile. Normally she would have stayed silent but having Riku beside her, wrapping her in his tail, made her feel a tad bit braver.

Oh Mercury had to stop giving her such embarrassing looks. It was fine while they were alone but at the moment they were in the company of their parents and she was trying to break the news to them. She looked over once at Mercury’s mother and hoped this whole trip hadn’t inconvenienced Runaiu, that would be the last thing that amaidi wanted. Turning to her dad she had a feeling he had a pretty good idea what she was here for. He was just being stubborn and doing the whole protective father thing. Lastly she turned towards her mother. Artemis had a knowing look on her face and amaidi let out a little smile. Well her mom was a very smart cookie and obviously would have figured it out, she didn’t have the whole macho dad thing to play after all.
“Well let’s just get this over with” amaidi stated a touch nervously. “I am not taking a no since I am a fully capable adult and the oldest of my siblings, but anyways I brought you here to say… mercury is my mate” she stated. It was best to be serious and slightly out of character then drag it on.

Mercury tried to think of a way he could respond without making the whole thing totally cheesy again and embarassing Amaidi further. Not that she usually objected, but have parents in the mixed probably made things a bit uncomfortable...
So, out of all the things he could have said, "I promise to cherish her for the rest of my life," was about the least cheesy. It seemed like Riku was the one he'd have to convince, so Mercury directed his most serious and not a total fluffbrain look in Riku's direction.

Runaiu was never the family reunion type. No. However she could tell Mercury was trying to either impress the father, or try and reassure him that Amaidi was safe with him. However, she knew from experience that just small little promises did not win a parents heart over easily. She flicked her tail, flicking her tongue to gain attention, and decided to settle with the blunt approach.
"Mercury is a good boy. I raised him to have manners and respect women. He treats Amaidi as a gentlemen, even if he is slightly goofy and at times says the wrong things. They both love one another greatly, even if sometimes I wonder how she deals with his silly ways."
She paused, looking over at Artemis and suddenly smiling, if just a little. A compliment always made her smile, seeing as she was very severely self conscience. "Thank you."

He felt his fur starting to rise up and had to take a deep breath. His daughter had a point, she was an adult, but still all he could see was his little girl as a kit and BCR. It just wasn't fair that they all had grown the way they had. Riku nuzzled Arty, figuring that she already knew or guessed.
"Amaidi, my little girl, I am glad you have found someone." He turned towards Mercury and sighed. "Welcome to the family, I guess."
